This document summarizes an experiment conducted by students to test Lawrence Kohlberg and Carol Gilligan's theories of moral development. The students hypothesized that girls would be more inclined towards a care orientation while boys a justice orientation. They presented moral dilemmas to 5th grade students and assessed their responses using Kohlberg and Gilligan's rubrics. However, they found that boys and girls scored equally on both scales, contradicting their hypothesis. They concluded their initial assumptions about gender differences were incorrect and discussed limitations and remaining questions.
