This document summarizes a student's thesis project on developing a three-port flyback converter for photovoltaic microinverter applications. The objectives were to model the AC/DC and DC/DC converters, develop control systems using MATLAB/Simulink, model the photovoltaic energy source, and simulate the system under different conditions. The introduction discusses how renewable energy development is important due to depletion of non-renewable resources. AC modules were chosen for the project due to advantages like eliminating losses between panels and supporting optimal settings between the panel and inverter.
