- 2. Post production is the final stage of the film-making process which normally involves picture editing, sound design, and the visual effects for the film on to a format that is suitable for release so that it can be viewed by audiences.

Editing: Once you have taken all footage for the trailer you must upload it all to your computer so that you can edit it by cutting out the boring parts and creating smooth cuts between each shot. Within horror it is important to make quick cuts to hold the viewers interest. Montages are often used within the editing of a horror film trailer as it shows all the things that build up to the main impact within the storyline and therefore help to attract the target audience. Adding Music and Sounds It is very important that the non-diagetic music matches the action of what is going on in the trailer at each given time in the music. This is the same for the sounds which must also match the action to create sound effects for specific actions particularly. Music gives a media text an emotional element that within horror films is used to create tension. It changes the audiences emotions on what they are seeing to give create an attachment that captures their attention. The music can be varied throughout the scenes to give a different atmosphere and to change the emotions of the viewer. Adding Title and Credits The name of the film needs to be introduced in the trailer often and in a trailer is often after a short scene is shown so that there is a slight amount of suspense built that makes the viewer want to continue watching so that they can discover the title and find out how to watch it. The typography of the title must match the style of the film as it has a big impression on the film so it should match the genre. Credits that are shown at the end of them show the list of cast members and the crew so that the audience are aware of who was in the film and who was a part of producing it
