Horror Trailer
Planning
Intended use of Sound
Dialogue
 We plan to use dialogue to help set the scene of the
trailer
 We want the main character, the horror victim, to
narrate the opening few seconds of the trailer, giving
the audience some background to the story of our
trailer
 Following on from this, we want the dialogue from our
victim to emphasise the confusion that is going on in
their lives as the trailer progresses.
Soundtrack
 We intend for our soundtrack to reflect what is going on in
the trailer as it unfolds.
 At the start of the trailer, we plan to use slow music to set
the scene, as well as giving us the ability to ramp up the
tension as the trailer progresses
 When we move onto the plot development section of the
trailer, we plan to use more tense music than what was
used for the establishing information. This allows us to
build up the tension before the montage.
 For the montage, we intend to use dramatic music to
emphasise the scenes that are unfolding in the montage.
 The music allows for tension to be built during the
montage.
Sound Effects
 We do not intend to use many sound effects in our
trailer as it could detract away from the true to life
experience of our horror film trailer
 Despite this though, we intend to use sound effects for
key scenes to create dramatic effect such as a door
knocking or a mobile phone ringing.
 By creating this dramatic effect, it helps build the
tension for the viewer and points out to them the
various intentions behind the scenes in our trailer.
