This document summarizes a study that aimed to determine the potential of Mangifera indica (mango) fruit peel extract to make germicidal soap. The researchers determined the physical properties (e.g. color, melting point, pH) and chemical properties (e.g. acid value, iodine value) of the mango peel soap. An antimicrobial sensitivity test was conducted using Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, which showed that the prepared soap did not reduce the growth of the microorganisms. Therefore, the researchers concluded that mango peel can be used to make soap but it is not comparable to commercially available germicidal soaps.
When we speak of the digital self, we are referring to the self as it exists in digital realms. This varies depending on the individual, since some of us prefer to live online under a pseudonymous or anonymous persona, apart from our physical selves, and others consider the digital to be a more holistic identity that goes beyond the physical.

Anti Microbial Activities and Phytochemical Screening of the Premna Odorata B...ijtsrd
The researcher focused mainly to determine the antimicrobial properties and phytochemical screening of the Alagaw leaf extract. Specifically, this study was conducted to determine the percent yield, antimicrobial activities and the secondary metabolites of Alagaw leaf extract which was analyzed and it include alkaloid, anthraquinone, saponins and steroid. Findings of the study showed that the Alagaw leaf extract has a percent yield of 11.5 . Anti Microbial Activity was tested by petri disk on a plate Nutrient Agar streaked with the E. coli bacteria, the plates were incubated for 24hrs and 37oC. Results were observed for the presence of zone inhibition clear area around the test disk. Results from this study showed that the antimicrobial activity on E. coli as indicated as negative by the presence of Alagaw leaf extract. Furthermore, the result suggests that the Alagaw leaf extract did not suppress the growth of the E. coli bacteria, hence it indicates that it has no anti microbial effect to the test organism. While the secondary metabolites such as alkaloid, anthraquinone, saponins and steroid is found negative. It is therefore recommended that further study of the chemical properties of alagaw leaf extract, barks and roots should be conducted Bernadette C. Mollejon | Charito V. Anti-Oxidant and Antimicrobial Studies of Tinospora cordifolia (Guduchi/Giloy...SUS GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS
Plants produce a diverse range of bioactive molecules, making them a rich source of
different types of medicines and healing properties. The present study was aimed to
evaluate the anti-oxidant and antimicrobial properties of stem and root of T. cordifolia.
Total phenolic contents of different solvent extracts were determined and found that ethanol
extract had the highest phenolic content of 0.3213 mg g-1. Antioxidant assays were also
carried out by using different in vitro models such as total reducing power, hydrogen
peroxide scavenging activity assay and hydroxyl redical scavenging activity. The Ethanol
extract showed the highest total antioxidant activity. The H2O2 scavenging and hydroxyl
free radical scavenging activity was maximum 87.2 % and 91.0% found in case of ethanolic
steam extract respectively. The antimicrobial activity of ethanolic and methanolic extract of
root and stem of T. cordifolia were also evaluated against some pathogenic microorganisms
viz. E. coli, B. subtilis, A. niger and Candida sp. it was found that the various concentration
of extract viz. 50, 100, 150 and 200 mg ml-1 were tested. It was observed that the
increasing in concentration there was also increasing in antimicrobial activity reveled by
increase in size of zone of inhibition. The methanolic stem extract exhibits highest
antimicrobial activity against all four pathogens. The study shown that the extract of T.
cordifolia has a wide range of anti-oxidant as well as antimicrobial activity against bacterial
as well as fungal pathogens.
Extraction of Secondary Metabolites from Roots of Acanthus Ilicifolius L and ...inventionjournals
The root extracts of Acanthus ilicifolius L finds a prominent place in folk medicine. In this study, we
extracted alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin and total phenols in benzene, ethyl acetate, acetone, methanol and
ethanol, their antibacterial activity and antioxidant activity was evaluated. The antioxidant activity is executed
by FRAP assay and agar well diffusion method is done to study the antibacterial activity against Enterobacter
aerogenes, Enterobacter cloacae, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus
pyogenes. The antibacterial activity of all the extracts was compared with standard antibiotic gentamicin.
The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration [MIC] was determined by serial dilution method. Alkaloids are rich in
acetone and Flavonoids are high in methanol extracts. The acetone extract showed higher antioxidant activity,
while benzene extract was identified to contain lower antioxidant activity. The extent of inhibition by the root
extracts diverge between the solvents used, among them ethanol extracts exhibited higher level of inhibition
against the gram positive test cultures compared to gram negative test cultures employed. Whereas, the acetone
extracts efficacy is more on gram negative test cultures than the gram positive cultures. The MIC was found to
be between 1mg/100µl to 5mg/100µl. This study gives the source for purification and characterization of
bioactive principles that possess antioxidant and antibacterial action from the root of Acanthus ilicifolius.

The Impact of Digital Media on the Decentralization of Power and the Erosion ...ijtsrd
The impact of digital media on the distribution of power and the weakening of traditional gatekeepers has gained considerable attention in recent years. The adoption of digital technologies and the internet has resulted in declining influence and power for traditional gatekeepers such as publishing houses and news organizations. Simultaneously, digital media has facilitated the emergence of new voices and players in the media industry. Digital medias impact on power decentralization and gatekeeper erosion is visible in several ways. One significant aspect is the democratization of information, which enables anyone with an internet connection to publish and share content globally, leading to citizen journalism and bypassing traditional gatekeepers. Another aspect is the disruption of conventional media industry business models, as traditional organizations struggle to adjust to the decrease in advertising revenue and the rise of digital platforms. Alternative business models, such as subscription models and crowdfunding, have become more prevalent, leading to the emergence of new players. Overall, the impact of digital media on the distribution of power and the weakening of traditional gatekeepers has brought about significant changes in the media landscape and the way information is shared. Further research is required to fully comprehend the implications of these changes and their impact on society. Design Simulation and Hardware Construction of an Arduino Microcontroller Bas...ijtsrd
This study primarily focuses on the design of a high side buck converter using an Arduino microcontroller. The converter is specifically intended for use in DC DC applications, particularly in standalone solar PV systems where the PV output voltage exceeds the load or battery voltage. To evaluate the performance of the converter, simulation experiments are conducted using Proteus Software. These simulations provide insights into the input and output voltages, currents, powers, and efficiency under different state of charge SoC conditions of a 12V,70Ah rechargeable lead acid battery. Additionally, the hardware design of the converter is implemented, and practical data is collected through operation, monitoring, and recording. By comparing the simulation results with the practical results, the efficiency and performance of the designed converter are assessed. The findings indicate that while the buck converter is suitable for practical use in standalone PV systems, its efficiency is compromised due to a lower output current. Energy becomes sustainable if it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Some of the definitions of sustainable energy include the considerations of environmental aspects such as greenhouse gas emissions, social, and economic aspects such as energy poverty. Generally far more sustainable than fossil fuel are renewable energy sources such as wind, hydroelectric power, solar, and geothermal energy sources. Worthy of note is that some renewable energy projects, like the clearing of forests to produce biofuels, can cause severe environmental damage. The sustainability of nuclear power which is a low carbon source is highly debated because of concerns about radioactive waste, nuclear proliferation, and accidents. The switching from coal to natural gas has environmental benefits, including a lower climate impact, but could lead to delay in switching to more sustainable options. “Carbon capture and storage” can be built into power plants to remove the carbon dioxide CO2 emissions, but this technology is expensive and has rarely been implemented. Leading non renewable energy sources around the world is fossil fuels, coal, petroleum, and natural gas. Nuclear energy is usually considered another non renewable energy source, although nuclear energy itself is a renewable energy source, but the material used in nuclear power plants is not. The paper addresses the issue of sustainable energy, its attendant benefits to the future generation, and humanity in general. Paul A. Adekunte | Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Janet O. Concepts for Sudan Survey Act Implementations Executive Regulations and Stand...ijtsrd
This paper aims to outline the executive regulations, survey standards, and specifications required for the implementation of the Sudan Survey Act, and for regulating and organizing all surveying work activities in Sudan. The act has been discussed for more than 5 years. The Land Survey Act was initiated by the Sudan Survey Authority and all official legislations were headed by the Sudan Ministry of Justice till it was issued in 2022. The paper presents conceptual guidelines to be used for the Survey Act implementation and to regulate the survey work practice, standardizing the field surveys, processing, quality control, procedures, and the processes related to survey work carried out by the stakeholders and relevant authorities in Sudan. The conceptual guidelines are meant to improve the quality and harmonization of geospatial data and to aid decision making processes as well as geospatial information systems. The established comprehensive executive regulations will govern and regulate the implementation of the Sudan Survey Geomatics Act in all surveying and mapping practices undertaken by the Sudan Survey Authority SSA and state local survey departments for public or private sector organizations. The targeted standards and specifications include the reference frame, projection, coordinate systems, and the guidelines and specifications that must be followed in the field of survey work, processes, and mapping products. In the last few decades, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of geomatics activities and measurements on the Earths surface in space and time, together with observing and mapping the changes. In such cases, data must be captured promptly, standardized, and obtained with more accuracy and specified in much detail. The paper will also highlight the current situation in Sudan, the degree to which survey standards are used, the problems encountered, and the errors that arise from not using the standards and survey specifications. Towards the Implementation of the Sudan Interpolated Geoid Model Khartoum Sta...ijtsrd
The discussions between ellipsoid and geoid have invoked many researchers during the recent decades, especially during the GNSS technology era, which had witnessed a great deal of development but still geoid undulation requires more investigations. To figure out a solution for Sudans local geoid, this research has tried to intake the possibility of determining the geoid model by following two approaches, gravimetric and geometrical geoid model determination, by making use of GNSS leveling benchmarks at Khartoum state. The Benchmarks are well distributed in the study area, in which, the horizontal coordinates and the height above the ellipsoid have been observed by GNSS while orthometric heights were carried out using precise leveling. The Global Geopotential Model GGM represented in EGM2008 has been exploited to figure out the geoid undulation at the benchmarks in the study area. This is followed by a fitting process, that has been done to suit the geoid undulation data which has been computed using GNSS leveling data and geoid undulation inspired by the EGM2008. Two geoid surfaces were created after the fitting process to ensure that they are identical and both of them could be counted for getting the same geoid undulation with an acceptable accuracy. In this respect, statistical operation played an important role in ensuring the consistency and integrity of the model by applying cross validation techniques splitting the data into training and testing datasets for building the geoid model and testing its eligibility. The geometrical solution for geoid undulation computation has been utilized by applying straightforward equations that facilitate the calculation of the geoid undulation directly through applying statistical techniques for the GNSS leveling data of the study area to get the common equation parameters values that could be utilized to calculate geoid undulation of any position in the study area within the claimed accuracy. Both systems were checked and proved eligible to be used within the study area with acceptable accuracy which may contribute to solving the geoid undulation problem in the Khartoum area, and be further generalized to determine the geoid model over the entire country, and this could be considered in the future, for regional and continental geoid model. sodium hydroxide (NaOH) was mixed. Stir until the mixture
dissolves. After preparation the lye solution,about200mL of
coconut oil was added into the prepared lye solution and
stirred the mixture until the texture is similar to a condense
milk, then 50mL of mango peel extract was added. It was
stirred continuously until the mixture become sticky, then it
was put into clean and dry molder to harden. Addition of
scent was made for more pleasant odor.
Determination of Physical Properties of Mango Soap
The physical properties of the fruit peel extract were
determined using the procedurethat follows: Melting point,
the small piece of mango peel soap was pushed to the open
and of a capillary tube. The thermometer was attached on it
with the use of a rubber band, it was placed on beaker with
tap water and heated until the soap melts. pH level of Soap,
a pH meter was used by dipping into the sample to
determine the pH. Solubility, the prepared mango soap was
tested in water, benzene and acetone for about 2mL which
was poured into nine (9) different test tube filled with 0.5g
of prepared soap.
Determine of Chemical Properties of Mango Soap
Acid value was prepared with 2.8g of sample were weighed
and placed into an erlenmeyer flask, 12.5mL of neutralized
alcohol (25mL ethanol + 25mL ether) was added and mixed
using stirring rod to dissipate warming on heat source if
necessary. The sample was allowed to cool approximately
and 1mL of phenolphthalein was added. The burette was
filled and titrated using 0.5 N methanolic potassium
hydroxide to a faint pink color which remains for 30seconds
or more.
Iodine Value was prepared with 0.3g of sample were
accurately weighed and added into a 250mL of chloroform,
covering it immediately. It wasmixedthoroughlybyswirling
and placed in the dark. Simultaneously a corresponding
reagent blank was prepared containing 10mL chloroform
and 25mL Hanus solution. The flask was placed in the dark
with the test sample properly covered with cork stopper.
After 60 minutes, 20mL of potassium iodide was added using
graduated cylinder, 100mL of distilled water were added
rinsing the neck and sidewalls of the flask during addition of
water. Immediately the solution was titrated using 0.1N
sodium thiosulfate until the aqueous layer’s color began to
lighten. Approximately 3mL starch solution was added and
titrating continuously until the blue color of the aqueous
layer begins to disappear. Towards theendof thetitration, at
intervals, the flask was covered, the shake vigorously to
extract any iodine remaining in the chloroform layer. When
the end point appears to have been reached, again it will be
covered, then shake vigorously allowing the layers to
separate and two drops of starch solution was added to
verify that no blue color was formed in the aqueous.
Peroxide Value, 5.0g of sample was weighed into a 250
glass stopper Erlenmeyer flask. Using a graduated cylinder,
30mL of the acetic-chloroform solution was added, swirlthe
flask until the sample was completely dissolved. Then 0.5mL
of saturated potassium iodide was added, the flask was
covered and swirled for one minute. Immediately add 30mL
of distilled water, covered and shaken vigorouslyto liberate
the iodine from the chloroform layer. The burette was filled
with 0.1 N sodium thiosulfate. If the starting color of the
solution was deep orange or if the solution was initially a
light amber color, titrate slowly with mixing until the color
lightens. With 1mL of starch solution as indicator, titrate
until the blue grey color disappear in the aqueous solution.
Antimicrobial Sensitivity Test
All the equipment was placed in an autoclave for
sterilization. The Kirby Bauer antimicrobial test was used to
determine the antimicrobial activity of the biocomposite
films against E. coli and S. aureus. Each of thesubculturepure
isolates of the bacteria were aseptically harvested into the
surface of the cultured plates by using sterile cotton swab. A
filter paper for the control was soaked with the solution of
Chloramphenicol (1:10). The filter papers soaked in the
prepared solution and the control was aseptically and
carefully impregnated into the surface of nutrient agar using
a sterile pick up forceps. The disc was placed with a distance
from each other. The inoculated plates were incubated at
37 for 18-24 hours. After the inoculation, the plates were
inspected for the presence of any clear zone of the inhibition
around the sample discs.

Figure1. Determination of Antimicrobial Sensitivity
In the figure 1, it shows that based on the performed
experiment on the anti-microbial sensitivity test, the
prepared soap from mango peel does not havethe capability
to reduce the excrescency of the microorganisms namely
Escherichia coli and staphylococcus aureus. There was no
zone of inhibition in the sample soap and the negative
control. Therefore, the prepared soap is not that qualified to
kill the microorganisms E.coli and S. aureus.
CONCLUSION
The anti-microbial sensitivity test suggested that the
prepared soap from mango peel extract does not have the
capability to reduce the excrescency of the microorganisms
namely Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, although
it inhibited in positive control-chloramphenicol. Based on
the conducted experiment, Mangifera indica (Mango) fruit
peel extract is not comparable to the commercially available
germicidal soap.
