POLLUTION DEVASTATES THE PURITY OF THINGS BY: SAMAD KEERIO
WHAT IS POLLUTION? The word pollute means to destroy the purity of things. It is today the crucial problem which is destroying the purity of land, seas and air; threatens the survival of the living things.
BACKGROUND OF POLLUTION It is the outcome of wild science and technology. First pollution was almost negligible and was ignored. But the establishment of cities and the development of science has increased the rate of pollution.
TYPES OF POLLUTION There are many types of pollution present in this world but the most important and the most common ones are: SOIL POLLUTION AIR POLLUTION WATER POLLUTION NOISE POLLUTION
SOIL POLLUTION It means the decrement in the purity of soil. Its factors are: Destruction of forests. Massacre of species. Improper & unsystematic cultivation of lands. Use of pesticides & herbicides. Industrial wastes and & automotive emissions.
AIR POLLUTION Mixture of hazardous gases & other chemicals in the air causes air pollution. It is result of emission of carbon mono-oxides. It is matter of great concern nowadays. It is estimated that more than 20 billion tons of carbon dioxide are being released every year.
WATER POLLUTION Water pollution occurs when waste materials are deposited into a stream, they settle down or get diluted. It occurs even when a small quantity of highly toxic substance is discharged in the water. Its factors are: Sewage, Industrial wastes, chemicals, pesticides, etc.
NOISE POLLUTION Unwanted sound or noise, such as produced by airplane, traffic or industrial machinery is form of noise pollution. It can cause hear lose, stress, high blood pressure & sleep lose.
EFFECTS OF POLLUTION Effects of pollution are varied. These include poisonous drinking water, unbalanced river & lake ecosystem, complete disaster of water resources, deforestation and many kinds of killer diseases. Science now provides many practical solutions to minimizing the present level at which pollutants are introduced.
REMEDIES Great deal can be done to minimize pollution if we take care to recycle materials whose production creates pollution & if act responsibly with household chemicals & this disposal. Industrial agreements have also played a role in reducing global pollution. Developing countries continue to struggle with pollution control because they lack the clean technologies.
“NOW IT IS THE NEED OF TIME TO PROTECT OUR MOTHER EARTH FROM THE DEVIL OF POLLUTION AND SEE OUR PAKISTAN AS A COUNTRY WITHOUT POLLUTION.”
