Pollution occurs when pollutants contaminate the natural environment and negatively impact human life. The main types of pollution are water, air, soil, thermal, radioactive, and noise pollution. Water pollution in particular seriously threatens ecosystems and human health through industrial and agricultural runoff. Rising pollution levels overall are linked to issues like global warming and disease.
