2. Al Quran contains numerous physical sciences for the Guidance of Human Beings. Your Allah is one Allah; there is no god but Him, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Lo! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of night and day, and the ships which run upon the sea with that which is of use to men, and the water which Allah sends down from the sky, thereby reviving the earth after its death and dispersing all kinds of beasts therein, and (in) the ordinance of the winds, and the clouds obedient between heaven and earth: are signs (of Allah's sovereignty) for people who have sense. (Al Baqarah, verse 163:164)

The same Ayah (as a typical Ayah of Al Quran) mentions many sciences in it including: Biology (Zoology, Botany and Embryology etc) Astronomy Water Cycle There are numerous other sciences in Al-Quran including Chemistry, Physics, Geology etc. which can be revealed on detailed study of the holy book.

Astronomy Astronomy, the most marvelous and thought provoking branch of science, dealing with the study of heavenly bodies, is one of the major sciences discussed in Al Quran and appears at innumerable occasions including Sura Al-Rahman, Sura Yaseen, Sura Al-e-Imran, Sura Noah, Sura Al-Furqan). A few Ayahs of Al Quran are selected below to enlighten only few aspects of astronomy discussed in the book.

5. LUMINOSITY OF SUN & BRIGHTNESS OF MOON See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony. And hath made the moon a light therein (for earth) and made the sun a lamp? 6. THE BIG BANG Then turned He to the heaven when it was smoke, and said unto it and unto the earth: Come both of you, willingly or loath. They said: We come, obedient. (Sura Ha-meem Al-Sajda, verse 11) This Ayah has very briefly narrated the creation of this universe (as given by the Big Bang theory) and has used the word “smoke” for now called state of matter “Gas” so that it could be understandable to the readers of Quran 1400 years ago. 7. Embryology Embryology is the branch of biology which deals with the studies of genes and embryos. Genetic Engineering is an advanced field of embryology. Embryology has also been referred several times in Al-Quran to realize the man his essence and to remind him his duties.

8. Then fashioned we the drop a clot, then fashioned we the clot a little lump, then fashioned we the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. (Sura Al-mo’minoon, verse14) Embryology EMBRYONIC LIFE OF MAN

9. Botany The branch of Biology which deals with the life studies of organisms sorted into the plants is called Botany. Following Ayah gives the fact that Almighty Allah has narrated the presence of genders in plants fourteen hundred years from now.

10. Glory be to Him who created pairs of all the things which the earth grows and of their own kind and that of which they have no knowledge. (Sura Yasin, Verse 36) Botany GENDERS IN PLANTS & ANIMALS

11. Zoology Zoology is the branch of Science which deals with the study of animals and their characteristics. Zoology too is thousands of times referred in Al Quran in Sura Al-Baqarah, Sura Al-e-Imran, Sura Ana’am, Sura Noor and in various others.

12. Allah has created every animal from water some of them creep up on their bellies, other walk on two legs, and others on four. Allah creates what He pleases. (Sura Noor, Verse 45) CLASSIFICATION OF ANIMALS INTO REPTILES,HUMANS AND QUADRUPEDS Zoology

13. He created man from clay like the potter's. (Sura Al-Rehman,ayat 14) And all the beasts on the earth and those who fly by their wings are nothing but creations like you. (Sura Al-ana’am, verse 36) ESSENCE OF LIVING BEINGS Zoology

14. Water Cycle Water Cycle is described on various occasions in Al Quran (including Sura Al-roum, Sura Al-mo’minoon), in the same way the science of present age describes it. It must be noticed that this cycle was not remotely known 1400 years before the present day when Allah Almighty revealed this book to Prophet (S.A.W).

15. Allah is He who blows the winds; these winds (evaporate water and) form clouds, then He spreads them over the sky one over other as He wills; then you see the rain falling from within these clouds; then he makes this water reach his slaves as He pleases and they become joyful. (Sura Al-roum, verse 48) Water Cycle
