The beginning of the movie, Medina was off limits to Brodie because she was

Wings by Aprilynne Pike and The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien are two books that have
challenged my reading skills and the way I think about achieving accomplishments
that are considered impossible. These books are classified under the same genre
fantasy and through character development my view of this genre as an uninteresting
and unrealistic genre is challenged.
The Hobbit was a more challenging text to read. The perspective of the story kept
changing through the story making it confusing on whose point of view it was. In
chapter 5 Bilbo refers to himself as I, I don t know where he came from, nor who
nor what he was. The majority of the story is written in a third person perspective
however it is occasionally written in the second and first person perspective. The
amount of excessive description about the environment made these parts of the text
tedious and challenging to read. I was tempted to skip these pasts however I found
my vocabulary increasing, improving my reading skills as I persisted to read these
parts of the story.
Pike s, Wings was a much easier and interesting text to read as the story was set in a
high school environment and the language was more straightforward and easy to
understand. However, the last part of the plot challenged me and I was disappointed

David C. Docherty s scholarly journal responds to the continual controversy and
debate of the usefulness of the Canadian senate in 2002. Docherty s article does an
amazing job at analyzing the current Canadian senate and argues that the senate is a
failing Canadian institution because of two democratic deficiencies: the
undemocratic nature of senator selection and the inability of senators to represent
provinces properly (45). These two features of why the senateis a failing Canadian
institution can be compared to how Rand Dyck defines democracyin Canadian
Politics: Critical Approaches. Docherty looks at several previous senate reforms
and answers the question of why these senate reforms failed, in doing so Docherty
lays down a framework for a possible successful senate reform but acknowledges
the obstacles. Docherty does a very good job at accessing the problem of the
senate, accessing the problem of previous reforms, and suggesting a plausible type
of reform for the senate. This provides the reader with the knowledge of why the

the Lennox Food Science team, qualified by placing in the top five in our district

My recommendation is that if they were to eliminate the lighter and heavier 40%
of cows respectively, Old Mill Farms would have heavier calves to sell, resulting in
higher revenues. This would also reduce expenses each of the heavier cows has
been causing. This recommended approach will substantially reduce the expenses
incurred by heavier cows, and increase the calf sell weight produced by the lighter
cows. The best approach to measuring the proper size of a cow is to use the
primary key driver of cow weight and compare the value of a calf to the cost of
maintaining a cow. The principle of diminishing marginal productivity states that
as one input in the production process is increased, there will be a point in which
the addition of an input will result in smaller and smaller benefit. We can relate this
principle with the weight of cows. As more nutrients, minerals, and forage is added
to a cow the more a cow weighs. This in turn results in heavier calves. However,
when a cow begins to weigh over 1200 lbs. the weight of calves diminishes. When

general argument of elitism vs. pluralism this week. The authors of the three key texts
seem to each take a varying approach to answering this question, with some offering
more extreme answers than others. On the most elitist extreme, Mills in The Power
Elite(1956) provides a strong argumentthat the decisions made in politicsare the direct
result of the actions of a highly selective group of individuals who do not have the
best interests of the mass public at heart. This elite is made up of (presumably) men
from the realms of business, military, and high level politics. Socio economic factors
such as income and social circle keep the elite in a position of power through their
cumulative advantage. The tight control over decisions and actions of importance
that this elite has is legitimized by their positions of legal, economic, and political
importance. Mill further argues that the decision making structures most viewers
would point to as the source of policy and political action are little more than mid
level actors competing over petty decisions. Their ability to debate minor issues is
unimpeded, though the elite ensures that there is no serious challenge to their
authority from this mid level. Further down on the power spectrum, Mill points to the
apolitical masses, who exert no real influence over the decision making system.

The Triangle Shirtwaist Fire happened on March 25, 1911. The Triangle Fire is
remembered as one of the most tragic workplace incidents in the history of
Industrial America. This tragic fire killed 146 female factory workers, some as
young as age 15. During this time there was many problems with sweatshops and
unsafe working conditions, this fire proved those problems to be true. The
Triangle Shirtwaist Company was owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris. The
company was started by Blanck and Harris in 1900. Their company occupied the

The building had four elevators to reach the factory floors, however, in 1911 only
one of those four elevators were functional, workers also had to file down a long
narrow hallway to reach it. In addition to those elevators there were two stairways
down. One of those stairways was unlocked. The other stairway down was locked
from the outside. The building also had a fire escape, but it was very narrow and
couldn t get that many people down it fast enough. With what happened on the
Triangle Fire of 1911, Max Blanck and Isaac Harris should be blamed for the tragic
aftermath and so many women dead with the fire. Their punishment for 146
females dying was very inadequate. Seeming how they did not take the proper
safety precautions and their factory was not up to city codes. Blanck and Harris did
not get charged of manslaughter or anything for the 146 females dying in this fire,
though they definitely should have. There had been strikes in years before about
better working conditions and more safe precautions in the factory. One reporter that
was an eyewitness to the fire said, I remembered their great strike of last year, in
which these girls demanded more sanitary workrooms, and more safety precautions in

The society has changed over the year from the early twenty to nowadays. One time,
I read this article; it said something about how men and women are the same, but
still, have some different qualities. If you really think about it, men are more
dominant than women. In the early twenties, women could not get a job because that

watchful (Kingston 223). This quote is basically saying that the women that got
pregnant was forgotten and was never born. I feel like, yes all the villagers had
forgotten the women and what she did, but at the end there will always be those
