 Enterprise Rent-A-Car is a brand that have numerous branches
across the globe. Countries such as:
• United Kingdom
• United States
• Canada
• Ireland
• Europe
 Offers wide range of services:
• Car Leasing
• Replacement Rentals
• Van Pooling
• Car Sharing
• Hourly Rental Programs

 The aim of this project will be to produce:
‘A generic, nationwide training system that further develops the
four stage training model used in the North West of UK.’
 This training model has shown to be effective, by helping to
boost the four core areas of the business:
• Customer Service
• Development (Retention)
• Fleet Growth
• Profit

 The purpose of the project is to:
‘Implement the current North West training model so that
it can be used as 'best practice' across all branches.’
• Later improves staff retention; which in turn leads to
better customer service in the future.

Project Objective 1
 Retrain training managers of different regions so that they can
deliver the new training scheme in two months.
• Seven signed documents/forms to confirm the retraining of
managers to deliver the new training scheme.
• Seven feedback and evaluation forms confirming the
success and the understanding of the new training scheme.

Project Objective 1
• Get Head of Training to review and approve the use of
materials required on a nationwide basis for the new
training scheme.
• Allocate specific days and times at which the different
Training Managers will be retrained.
• Deliver the required training to the Training Managers.

Project Objective 2
 Create and implement a one day training conversion course to
retrain the existing employees during the last six months of
the project.
• Signed documents/forms to confirm the retraining of each
existing employees.
• Collect feedback and evaluation forms from employees that
have been on the one day training scheme during the first
two months, to gain an understanding of its usefulness.

• Design and develop the one day training conversion course.
• Implement the one day training conversion course.
• Contact existing Employees and allocate days and times for
the retraining course.
• Contact Regional Managers to ensure days for retraining
are appropriate.
• Deliver the one day training conversion course.

Project Objective 3
 Implement the new training scheme by October 2014; this includes
creating scenarios that employees may face in the future in the form of
role plays.
• A thorough feedback form that measures the success of the new
training scheme.
• Face to face employee interviews regarding the introduction of role-
plays to establish an idea of how well the new training scheme has
been effective.
• Evaluate and compare the staff retention to see if there has been an
improvement.

• Gain approval of the new training scheme by both the Project
Board and the other Regional Managers.
• Design and develop 5 specific scenarios that will be used in
role play.
• Implement the 5 scenarios that have been designed (via video
recording).

 Investigate and implement a suitable e-learning package, as part
of development of the NW training scheme within the first three
months of the project.
• Report to measure and explain the pros and cons of various
e-learning packages.
• All new employees have access to the new e-learning
package as part of their training.

• Research the various e-learning packages available (Personal
Development).
• Present findings to the Project Board and gain approval for the
implementation of the most appropriate one.
• Implementation of the e-learning package (Buying and Installing).

• A confirmation letter from the Project Board being satisfied
with the outcome of the overall project.

The Head of Training will be responsible for:
• Reviewing the new training scheme.
• Reviewing the materials required for training.
• Preparing the Training Managers for retraining.

 Project Board
The Project Board will be responsible for:
• Monitoring the project.
• Observing to see if the deliverables are being produced.
• Giving approval to Project Managers; for example – allocating budgets or
adjustments to deadlines.
 Project Manager
The Project Manager will be responsible for:
• Breaking down the requirements of the project.
• Allocating the tasks to the appropriate team members.
• Leading, monitoring and controlling the project.
• Documenting the project.
• Keeping in touch with the Project Board regarding the progress.

 Implementation Team
The Implementation Team will be responsible for:
• Carrying out specific tasks allocated by the Project
Manager.
• Realising the objectives.
 Training Manager
The Training Manager will be responsible for:
• Delivering the new training scheme to the employees.

 Regional Manager
The Regional Manager will be responsible for:
• Making sure all employees (new and current) in their region are fully
trained.
• Reviewing the project plan to ensure that there is no negative impact on
their branch and operations.
 Employees
The Employees will be responsible for:
• Giving their opinions on the current training scheme, (strengths and
weaknesses).
 Customers
The Customers won’t have a direct effect on the project.

Project Objective 2  Create and implement a one day training conversion course to retrain the existing employees during the last six months of the project. • Signed documents/forms to confirm the retraining of each existing employees. • Collect feedback and evaluation forms from employees that have been on the one day training scheme during the first two months, to gain an understanding of its usefulness. 7

Project Objective 3  Implement the new training scheme by October 2014; this includes creating scenarios that employees may face in the future in the form of role plays. • A thorough feedback form that measures the success of the new training scheme. • Face to face employee interviews regarding the introduction of role- plays to establish an idea of how well the new training scheme has been effective. • Evaluate and compare the staff retention to see if there has been an improvement. 9

  • 17.  Project Board The Project Board will be responsible for: • Monitoring the project. • Observing to see if the deliverables are being produced. • Giving approval to Project Managers; for example – allocating budgets or adjustments to deadlines.  Project Manager The Project Manager will be responsible for: • Breaking down the requirements of the project. • Allocating the tasks to the appropriate team members. • Leading, monitoring and controlling the project. • Documenting the project. • Keeping in touch with the Project Board regarding the progress. 17
