We classify plants in different ways. A tree, a bush, and grass are types of
plants.
Trees are tall. They have got a trunk, branches, leaves, and roots.
Evergreen trees keep their green leaves all year.
Christmas trees are evergreen trees!
Deciduous trees lose their leaves in autumn and winter.
Bushes are short. They have many stems, leaves and roots. They haven’t got a trunk.
Grass is green and bendy.
These plants are wild!
Wild plants grow everywhere.
These plants are cultivated!
Cultivated plants are grown by farmers, or people like you.

Flowering Plants
Some plants have got flowers. Some of the flowers grow fruit to
protect the seeds inside. Seeds in the ground grow roots and a stem.
Non-flowering Plants
Plants without seeds or flowers are called non-flowering plants. Non-
flowering plants use spores to reproduce.
Ferns are a type of non-flowering plant. Ferns use spores to reproduce.
