WARM-UP
LEAD-IN
PRESENTATION
T writes the alphabet on the board and
then says the following: "I'm going
on a road trip and I'm taking along
my..." Then asks the students to repeat
the same one by one but using a word
that begins with every single word
from the alphabet on the board.
-T presents the aim of the lesson
-T tells the Ss about his plans for next
weekend and next winter vactions.
-T asks some questions in order to talk
about plans for next vacations like:
what are you doing on your next
vacations? Or what are you doing this
weekend?
T writes on the board the sentence “I
am visiting my granma”. Some Ss are
going to think it is an action taking
place now, however, T explains the
use of that form to talk about future
plans and adds an indicator such as
“this weekend”. Then, T makes the
contrast between the use of will and
the present progressive.
T checks understanding of the
difference between will and PP
making Ss explain to their classmates
themselves.
T and Ss then talk about leisure time
and activities for fun.
Students, look. This is the alphabet
and I am going to say this sentence,
then pick one letter from the alphabet
and make a word that comes to my
mind. For example "I'm going on a
road trip and I'm taking along my
Alphabet” Now try yourselves!
Ok, so today what we are going to do
is the following: make plans for the
future. But first let me tell you
something. Next weekend I’m going
to celebrate the father’s day with my
family at my sister’s…
And what about you guys? What are
you doing on your next vacations?
What are you doing this weekend?
Have a look at this. Can anybody tell
me what this sentence means? Is this
taking place at this moment? When,
then? The use of this structure is to
make plans or fix arrangements.
Did you get the idea? Are you sure?
Could you explain to the rest of your
classmates? You’ll be rewarded!
This is the structure that we use to
make plans, can you see the use of
the –ing? And how could we make a
question using this? Do you
remember the question I made at the
beginning?
