2. FRONT COVER
IMAGES
My front cover image will be of a girl stood against a plain
background with lots of old record sleeves on the wall. She
will be wearing minimal/natural makeup and will have
textured, wavy hair. The lighting is going to be quite high key
to make the cover image look bright and welcoming. The
records that have been included in the mise-en-scene will
give the vibe of a music magazine and this is something that
I have not seen done before. This background will also be
quite colourful and quirky which ties in nicely with the style
of the magazine.
3. COVER LINES
My front cover is going to be simplistic and most of the focus
is going to be on the cover star, this means that there is only
going to be a small amount of cover lines – probably about 35 (not including skylines and incentives). The cover lines on
my front cover will be:
• On Our Radar – Unsigned artists we’re loving!
• How Well Do You Know Muse?
• Q&A with Ellie Goulding
• The Best Gig Ever? You Decide!
• ‘Nothing Scares Me Anymore’ Exclusive Interview With
Ashley Lynne (Main cover line relating to cover star)

5. IMAGES FOR
CONTENTS PAGE
The images for my contents page will relate to a contest that
will be running in this weeks edition of the magazine. One
image will be of guitarist Joe Parry playing his guitar with an
amp in the background – this relates to the chance to win a
guitar lesson with him. The other image will be of an Ibanez
guitar and an Orange Amp – these are included in the
contest. Other images will include images that have not been
used for the photo shoots with Ashley and Dan to advertise
these main articles.
6. DOUBLE PAGE
SPREAD ARTICLE
My double page spread article will be an interview of a local
band or artist. Interviews were the most popular type of
double page spread article from my audience research, so I
decided that I would do one for my DPS. The artist I will be
interviewing is local DJ Dan Jackson. The DPS will include a
large image of him taking up one page. This image will
probably be shot in an industrial looking environment to fit
the genre of his music, but will be shot/edited in a way that
still fits with the style of the magazine. The article will ask
present him as producing the best remix of 2013 by the
readers of the magazine, and will ask him about what he’s
been up to in the year of 2013.
