Rukayyah Robun
Now having completed our short
film production, myself and
Emily plan on screening it to our
target audience of 12-21. As we
are based in a sixth form centre
we have decided to use one of
the available classrooms as our
venue. It has the room for up to
50 people all with seats.The
owner of the room has given us
60 minutes access to the room
for screening purposes which is
an ideal amount of time to set
up, screen the 11 minute film and
then reorganise the room to the
owners standards.
To show our film we will use
a projector and an
interactive whiteboard.We
will first have to transfer the
film from our editing
software onto the laptop
connected to the interactive
whiteboard.This will then
allow the film to project
onto a 70 inch screen which
will keep the film clear to all
the audience in the room.
 For safety purposes we are
required to fashion a sign
in sheet which shows how
many individuals we have
in the venue and what time
they came in and left.
 The column on the left is
where the individual will
write their name and then
on arrival they will write
the time.Then once the
event has finished they will
mark down what time they
left.
 We intend to make our screening as
much like a cinema experience as
possible.
 Thus we aim to have available
popcorn and drinks as light
refreshments as the film is not long in
length.
 To have refreshments doesn’t only
make the experience more
conventional but also more
comfortable for our audience who
have taken time out of the schedules
to take interest in our work.
 We will have the snacks in boxes
showing what the contain and what to
avoid if individuals have certain
allergies.Also me and Emily will
alternate between technological
director and host/ audience well
being.
 We have located the
nearest fire exit for our
venue which is outside
the entrance and directly
to the right.
 Before starting the film
we will thank the
attendees for coming
and give them directions
to this exit along with
directions to the nearest
w.c facilities.

 This questionnaire will be
placed near the exit of the
venue for when the audience
are leaving.
 It will not be a compulsory
form however we will explain
to the audience how this will
help with our audience
research.
 We will be able t navigate
common traits in our target
audience like age, their rating
and what the strongest and
weakest points were.
 This is the final draft of our
poster promoting the film
screening.
 We used the designed title as
the header to give the audience
familiarity with the short film.
 As well as this we included the
date, time and location in a
contrasting colour as these are
the crucial details and will catch
passers by attention.
 Finally, at the bottom we
simply included names of the
main actors as this would
engage friends and family to
want to come view their work.
 We used platforms likeTwitter
and Facebook to promote our
screening.
 These images show the posts
Emily created to circulate the
time and date to our chosen
target audience.
 This method is used by many
short film directors as it is
quicker, cheaper and will reach a
larger audience than creating,
printing and promoting an event
by posters.
 By using social media, directors
know who they are posting to
and can accumulate an
interested audience quickly.
