Massachusetts Bay Colony Vs Hutchinson Summary
The document the Massachusetts Bay Colony Case Against Anne Hutchinson from Thomas
Hutchinson, History of the Colony and Province of Massachusetts Bay, vol. II, 1767 and John
Winthrop s City Upon a Hill from 2013 The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, both were
somewhat in the same ball park, but they didn t take place at the same time. Both documents are seven
years apart, which means even though they weren t in the same year they were in the same era. Each
document took place in the Puritan Era. The Puritan Era was an era where a member of a group of
Protestants arose in the 16th century within the Church of England, challenging the simplification of
set guidelines and worship, and greater sternness in religious discipline.

Comparing Henry V And St. Joan Of Arc
Henry and Joan During the scenes of Henry V and St. Joan of Arc, it is noticed that there are certain
expectations that are expected of each Joan and Henry. Each of these individuals are expected of
different things based on their genders. Joan shows that being just a girl doesn t have to determine
what you do and Henry makes it known that if you do certain things that you believe in, that you are
still a man and shouldn t listen to what other have to say and to prove them wrong. This is where both
people have similarities and differences when it comes to their gender roles. For King Henry V, he is
doubted sometimes that he is not a true man and that since he is a king he should act like one. Henry
shows and tells that when he is having a conversation with his men about being a good king and man.
He said Though it s not my place to say so, I think the king is, after all, only a man, the same as me.
The violet smells to him the same as it does to me. The sky appears to him much as it does to me, and
all his senses are those of a mortal man. Without his fine clothes, the king appears just like any other
naked man. And though his feelings may be pitched higher than ours, when they plummet, they

Henry and Joan seem to have similarities and differences when it comes to their situations but both of
them make it known that your gender should not define certain traits or certains things that you can

and other people s opinions do not define who you are or stop you from what your goals. But in

Stockholm Syndrome Or Norrmalmstorg Syndrome
Love can form in many different ways; maybe from first sight, childhood memories, recent times or
kidnapping wait what? As ridiculous as it sounds, falling in love for your captor or abuser has been an
actual phenomenon that unfortunately exists in our world; Often called Stockholm Syndrome, Or
Norrmalmstorg Syndrome , it is a psychological condition that makes the captive believe in an
alliance with their captor. On August 23, 1973 in Stockholm, Sweden 4 bank workers were taken in
hostage by Jan Erik Olsson for a 6 day stand off with the police at the Kreditbaken until the workers
were finally released; Jan Erik was immediately put under arrest after surrendering. However, once the
captives were freed, they showed shocking behavior of showing sympathy and made positive
relationships with Jan Erik; this baffled people when the captives started acting like this considering
the fact that Olsson and his accomplice Clark Olofsson tortured them with nooses and dynamite sticks
and threatened to kill them many times during those 131 hours. Gaining the name thanks to Nils
Bejerot, a criminologist and psychiatrist, after he analyzed the victims brains. A year later in 1974
came another case of the syndrome; Patty Hearst, the granddaughter and heiress of William Randolph
Hearst, was held captive by the Symbionese Liberation Army and brainwashed into accepting their
ideas. In April she was caught robbing a bank in San Francisco via CCTV and was sentenced to 7
years of prison in

The Differences Of Christine De Pisan And Geoffrey Chaucer
Christine De Pisan and Geoffrey Chaucer are very important literature figures who lived during the
medieval age in Europe. They both had their significant works and their role in society. Pisan
contributed to draw attention to women s rights and equality between sexes, and Chaucer contributed
to enhance the English language. Christine De Pisan was a poet, a women s right activist and a
journalist who was born in 1364 in Venice, Italy. Pisan learned Latin, Philosophy, Literature and
Sciences known at the medieval age. She received the sort of education that was reserved for men of
her class. Christine was married to Étienne du Castel at the age of fifteen. Castel was a member of the
French court. The couple enjoyed a relationship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chaucer s father was a wine merchant. In 1357, Chaucer became a servant to Countess Elizabeth,
Countess of Ulster, who was the wife of Duke of Clarence. Chaucer continued in the English court
throughout his lifetime. He died in October 25, 1400 in England and was buried in Westminster Abbey
s poet s corner. In 1359, Chaucer went off to flight in the Hundred Years War in France. He also
traveled to France, Spain and Italy on diplomatic missions. Chaucer was married to Philippa Roet, the
daughter of Sir Payne Roet in 1366. The couple had three or four children. This marriage helped
Chaucer s career in the English court, because Philippa s sister, Katherine Swynford was married to
John of Gaunt, the king s fourth son. In around 1370, Chaucer went on diplomatic missions again in
Florence and Genoa. These travels exposed him to the works of poets such as Dante, Boccaccio and

Francis Crick s First Impression
Francis Crick s first impression as per Watson s view, possessed a quick, penetrative mind and
frequently sought after for advice yet not oft valued. (page 3)
Watson also attributed Crick with fast paced and loud converser and possessor of such a
boisterous/buoyant laughter that his location within the Cavendish was obvious . (Page 4)
Watson of opinion that anything that Crick would touch would eventually be regarded as the Gospel of
that field due to his brilliant insights into someone s work. (Page 4) This the very first impression of
Watson that Crick who was merely meagre in his own experimental work for his Ph.D as represented

equipment properly. Whereas he was extremely quick in intervening on other s lab work and providing
insights on as to how should the experiments proceed going further. This is my opinion is the start of
this coalition between sketchy Watson and intrusive Crick alliance that obtained and used works of
many prominent scientists such as Chargaff, Donohue, Wilkins, Franklin yet failed to give proper
credit due to each one of them with a marginal exception of Wilkins.
Watson mentions British sense of fair play would not allow Francis Crick to move into the structure of

Social Media On Our Society
Social Media in our society
In my personal experience, social interaction online it helps me to keep in touch with families, friends
and also for networking, but in general my post is more likely about my family , Selfies or just simple
funny post that I may like. In particular, social media allows me to have easy communication access
with significant other that are out of the country.
Many of Us for the most part has been affected by social media in their daily person to person
interaction now days, the texting, email and media account like Facebook just to mention one of them
,has been eliminating the phone calls, letter or even deeper, it is affecting our relationship with our
families and friends because is more distance .
Recently my family has an event to celebrate one of my uncle s birthdays, in New Jersey, everything
was really nice, a great moment for members of the family to interact because some of us are living
out of the state. During the celebration everyone was on their cell phones taking pictures and posting
on their social media account, including myself.
My family is really big therefore, that event will give us an amazing opportunity for some of us to
know each other, and introduced some new members to one another, such as newly marriages, but
instead we all were more focus on been on our phones posting on social media rather than enjoy the
celebration and make my uncle feel good and happy.

Essay about Whale Hunting By the Makah Tribe
Whale hunting has been a way of life for the Makah Tribe for more than 2000 years. They have
traditionally depended on the whale meat to survive as well as they have utilized the whales blubber
and oil. The dependence on whale hunting has caused the whale to be an integral part of the Makah
culture. The whale is in their songs, dances, designs and basketry. It has given them a disciple and
pride in their tribe. Yet for the past seventy years the Makah has been prevented from hunting due to
the gray whale, the whale they hunt, being on the endangered list. In 1994 the gray whale was
removed form the endangered list opening the possibility of the Makah Tribe to hunt again. Yet this
possibility has caused anti whaling organizations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This treaty s importance to the Makahs is due, to what they feel as, their need for their culture to be
able to hunt. They believe that without hunting integrated into their culture their people have grown
restless and lack discipline and pride. The also attribute many of their health problems to the lack of
sea mammal meat in their diet. They believe that the restoration of whaling will help restore that
discipline and pride as well as help physically.
The Makah realize that people are concerned that if they resume whale hunting that the gray whale
will suffer the possibility of extension again. Yet the treaty carries stipulations on what and how many
whales they can kill. The Makah can only kill up to five adult gray males in migration per year. The
are not allowed to hunt a calf or a mother with a calf. With the species having its largest population
ever at 22,263 and increasing 2.5 percent every year, the Makah s hunt will not threaten the gray
whale with endangerment.
Anti whaling organizations argue that if the Makah are allowed to hunt that they should not be able to
hunt the migrating males, only those in permanent residence. Yet Makah Tribal Chairman Greig
Arnold replied Whaling is dangerous enough just to go, and then to add all these stipulations just
makes it more dangerous. These stipulations would force the Makah to hunt in the ocean in December
or early spring when the seas are high and the weather is

Analysis Of Storm Warnings By Adrienne Rich
No storm is experienced the same. Seeing a storm on the horizon has the power to stir up gripping
memories, introspective thoughts, and convoluted emotions. The poem Storm Warnings , by Adrienne
Rich, applies a predictable structure paired with flowing syntax, and ambiguous diction speaking both
of weather and emotions to illustrate that one cannot avoid the tribulations of life, embodied as the
approaching storm, but instead prepare for their arrival. Storm Warnings, true to its literal subject
matter, possesses flowy sweeping syntax created by the strategic use of commas and phrasing to draw
parallels between the physical oncoming winds and the gales of life. The author crafts a long run on
sentence that spans the first stanza and carries on into the latter portion of the second to mirror the
continuous flowing of windy weather and the forward motion of life. Once the speaker notices the
brewing storm, they walk from window to closed window, watching boughs strain against the sky. In
this portion of the affromented run on sentence, alliteration, rhythm, and the repetition of words all
contribute to the impression of movement. The various w sounds at the beginnings of words and the
repetition of the word window create a sensation of continuously flowing forward, especially when
read aloud; the comma adds a small swirling pause to the rhythm, which is then soon after resumed
with the word watching. Just as the poem rhythmically moves forward with its long phrases connected
with frequent commas, so must life carry on with each additional experience, whether it be
misfortunes or joys. The elongated syntax allows all these elements to work together within sentences
to highlight the similarities between physical storms and emotional struggle and to stress the
inevitability of predicaments in life.
Despite the flowing syntax, the poem has a clear and predictable structure to replicate the persona s
calm familiarity with experiencing and answering to storms in their life. It is interesting to note that
even though parlous weather is on its way, there is a lack of panic, chaos, and anomalies in the
structure of the poem. There continues to be seven lines in each stanza throughout the piece;

Should Airport Security Be Changed
Imagine you are on the plane and you are about ⅔ through your flight and you learn that there is a

Some people say that our airport security here in the United States is fine. Other people say that there

be changed because it causes problems in a number of ways. Without airport security, we would have

Binge Drinking On College Campuses
Over the past few years, there has been this big debate about whether the drinking age should be
lowered to 18 or if it should stay at 21. Those in favor of lowering the drinking age to 18 argue that
someone who is old enough to serve their country should be allowed to have a drink. Those who are in
favor of keeping the minimum legal drinking age at 21 because of consequences regarding
psychological development and health problems later in life. However, there is a bigger problem
concerning alcohol. The problem is the excessive amount of drinking or commonly known as binge
drinking, done by primarily college students and by raising taxes on any and all alcoholic beverages
can lead to significant reduction of dangerous binge drinking and simultaneously reducing the
dangerous effects of binge drinking. Drinking has become a tradition amongst college students, and
drinking is portrayed as a vital part of the college experience. Most incoming college freshman come
into college with a preexisting tendency to drink, and the college campus life can be a significant
influence on alcohol consumption and the rate at which alcohol is consumed. Binge drinking is so
common that it is expected of a college student to drink once getting into the university. The reasons
in which students decide to binge drink can vary from students

Essay about Grunge
Grunge
In the isolated city of Seattle during the mid 1980 s a new sound and attitude was developing.
Although it didn t yet have a coined term it would later become know as Grunge, originally a tounge
in cheek term for the pungent guitar noise propagated by the cultish independent label Sub Pop (
Grunge ). This mix of 70 s metal and early 80 s punk blasted into mainstream America and brought
the hard rock sound of the 70 s back to life, but the sudden, unexpected and to some unwanted, fame
and popularity would prove to much for it and like so many pop culture movements before, it would

Grunge wasn t a produced sound, the independent record labels that started to pop up where usually

the band and label were now in business together. Unlike the large rock bands of the 70 s or the pop
bands of today Grunge bands didn t go seeking major record labels, they played to crowds of drunken
friends and locals. They would play in clubs and bars where the crowd would get drunk and thrash
about wildly. The Seattle phenomenon wouldn t have been possible without the network of college
radio, fanzines, and indie contributors that sprang up in the wake of punk rock ( Grunge City ). The
bands never expected to get big, most had a tight following of fans who were all that kept them going.
The local fans had a lot to do with the development of Grunge. Grunge fans were the first fans to
create fanzines. Fanzines were cheaply created magazines used to spread news about their favorite
band, where they would be playing next, what their message was or just about the band members
themselves. This small following of fans didn t put any pressure on a band, when they got up to
perform it was to have fun and see how wild they could get the crowd. This lack of pressure and
knowledge of how corporate America worked was a key factor in the quick downfall of Grunge. In

The Reality of Married Life
THE REALITY OF MARRIED LIFE
John J. Robinson in his book Of Suchness gives the following advice on love, sex and married life. Be
careful and discreet; it is much easier to get married than unmarried. If you have the right mate, it s
heavenly; but if not, you live in a twenty four hour daily hell that clings constantly to you, it can be
one of the bitterest things in life. Life is indeed strange. Somehow, when you find the right one, you
know it in your heart. It is not just an infatuation of the moment. But the powerful urges of sex drive a
young person headlong into blind acts and one cannot trust his feelings too much. This is especially
true if one drinks and get befuddled; the lousiest slut in a dark bar can look like a Venus ... Show more

Then, much to the disappointment of both parties, the proverbial veil that had so far been concealing
the innermost feelings of each partner is removed to expose the true nature of both partners. It is then
that disillusion sets in.
Material Needs
Love by itself does not subsist on fresh air and sunshine alone. The present world is a materialistic
world and in order to meet your material needs, proper financing and budgeting is essential. Without
it, no family can live comfortably. Such a situation aptly bears out the saying that when poverty
knocks at the door, love flies through the window . This does not mean that one must be rich to make a
marriage work. However, if one has the bare necessities of life provided through a secure job and
careful planning, many unnecessary anxieties can be removed from a marriage.
The discomfort of poverty can be averted if there is complete understanding between the couple. Both
partners must understand the value of contentment. Both must treat all problems as our problems and
share all the ups and downs in the true spirit of a long standing life partnership.
A feeling of security and contentment comes from mutual understanding which is the SECRET of a

question of whether sexual orientation is a matter of choice, or not. If it is claimed that sexual
orientation is something that was handed down at birth and not a matter of choice, then, the act of
discrimination against this person would be wrong. The dispute draws on countless research
suggesting that sexual orientation is congenital. The anti gay ideologues exploit these arguments. In

Everyday there are new developments being researched. Along with these developments come the

Why should she suffer an extra nine months? But with further developments of gene manipulation,
when couples receive bad news, they can cure the disorder by gene therapy, thus, abortion will no

Genetic screening allows parents to contribute more to the health of their child by knowing the
complications beforehand.
Not only can the fetus be cured of disorders, but it also decrease the probabilities of the offspring
obtaining such diseases. For instance, if a woman is bearing a boy of a father with the history of
prostate cancer, then the baby will probably develop that cancer. But with the cell suicide gene

neither will his sons since the gene that the doctors gave him copied itself into every cell in his body,

Organizational impact overall impact in an organizational level. Generally relate to three main topics:
profit, productivity and cost/benefit analysis.
This model is based on the multiple relations between each variable and how they impact the
individual and the organization. It should be looked as whole, not just on each component separately.
As it was organized, Organizational impact was the most important aspect, since that is where the real
success or not lays down. A great system with great user satisfaction, for example, is great, but without
real and perceivable results, it cannot be considered a success.
However, there were critics of the model, like Seddon (1997), by Palmius (2007), who argues that the
model contains both procedures and variance variables which could make results confusing to
describe, evaluate, and comprehend. Pitt et al. (1995), by Palmius (2007) reasoned for the
relationships between user and IT department, indicating some type of service component should be
added to the model. Myers et al. (1997), by Palmius (2007) explored to other possible impacts that IS
and IT may have other than the individuals and in the organization, like the industry or society.
Even though Seddon and Kiev (1994) and Rai et al. (2002), both by Palmius (2007), made studies
validating the model, Delone and Mclean

Effects Of Greenhouse Emissions On The Planet s Climate
I. Introductory Paragraph A. An overwhelming amount of evidence points to the fact that mankind s
actions, specifically the emission of greenhouse gasses are having drastic effects on the planet s
climate. B. In America, Industry, in general is responsible for twenty percent of all greenhouse
emissions C. However, many people believe that this number can be greatly reduced by implementing
cap and trade on carbon emissions. D. Some people believe that cap and trade is the most
environmentally and economically sensible approach to controlling greenhouse gas emissions. The
cap sets a limit on greenhouse emissions that a company can release. This cap is lowered over time to
reduce emissions. Then the trade allows companies to trade their emissions. So for example if
company A has very low emissions compared to company B who has high emissions. Company A can
trade Company B the emissions that they have not used up. This essentially would create a market for
emissions while at the same time lowering emissions. This system would allow industry leaders to
plan for a future that is sustainable without hurting their profit margin too much and the amount of
emissions released could not be monitored. E. Implementing cap and trade would reap many
environmental benefits however there is an opposition that would like to resist cap and trade, as they
believe it would hinder business.

Turkmen Energy Relations With China And Russia
Turkmen Energy Relations with China and Russia
Historically in the Russian sphere of influence, since the breakup of the Soviet Union, just like the rest
of Central Asia, Turkmenistan has found itself in the middle of Sino Russian confrontation over the
question of who is the new regional powerhouse.
Due to the shared Russian imperial and then Soviet past, the Russian influence the Turkman society
was prevalent after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Pipelines carried Turkmen gas to Russia and then
from Russia to Western markets. Turkmens had no alternative, all of Turkmen gas from the
Dauletabad field was exported through the Soviet era Central Asia Center Pipeline System which was
built between 1960 and 1988 and carried gas from Turkmen and Uzbek fields to a hub on the Russian
Kazakh border called Alexandrov Gai and then linked to the Russian pipeline network. Initially Russia
bought the Turkmen gas at a very cheap rate and then resold it to the European markets at a price
several times higher than what it paid the Turkmens. In March of 2008, following a meeting in
Moscow between Gazprom and top energy officials from the region it was announced that beginning
in 2009 the sale of natural gas will be made at European prices; however, Turkmens in particular had
already realized the need for diversification.
Turkmens started looking for alternatives to their export routes and one of the main directions they
looked toward was the east, at the new rising dragon, China. The

Art Therapy Personal Statement
I have come a long way on my life journey to be here in New York to study art therapy. Prior to this
study, I was a graphic designer. Today, I introduce myself as an artist and a prospective art therapist. I
grew up in South Korea, that is mono cultural, and spent my first 25 years in Seoul, the capital city,
having an ordinary childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood. Although my life is not remarkable
like that of many artists, some distinct features nurtured me as an artist and a prospective art therapist.
I was engaged in artistic activities since childhood. My mother was the strongest influence; she
worked in the education field and was highly interested in art education for children. I was always in
an environment with access to art. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although I was not an outstanding student, I was confident with my grades in art classes. An art
teacher I met in high school inspired me to be a designer. Yet a design major was somewhat
distinguished from the art that I pursued. Her art class had a surpassing influence in my life. In a
traditional art class of a Korean high school, students normally learned to draw a plaster model, an
oriental painting, and a watercolor still life painting, which were boring for teenagers. They were
evaluated by their depiction skills and techniques, and competence in using art materials. However,
the instruction of the art teacher in my high school was unique. She obtained permission from the
school and to modify the curriculum for the students in order to get them motivated. She truly wanted
to encourage and excite her students through her art classes. As adolescents felt that, design was
attractive at that time. The art teacher suggested a new design art curriculum instead of the boring
instructions. This, T shirt and textile designs, drew students attention even before we started the
process, many students participated in, and enjoyed, the art class. We created silk screen printing on T
shirts and tie dyed handkerchiefs in her class. This instruction also facilitated an atmosphere of
communication. Silk screen printing required at least two people, therefore, we partnered and
cooperated together. While tie dying, students actively interacted, sharing various colors and produced
impressive handkerchiefs. The class was noisy yet everyone was focused and enjoyed their artwork; it
was close to play , rather than an art class, and enough to capture students interest, student who had
only used paint and brushed previously. The walls of the classrooms were decorated by splendid
handkerchiefs. Unlike the art we had learned in traditional art class, this was exciting and practical.
This new art instruction was sensational. I

The Atlantic And Pacific Coasts Fish Stocks Overall Show...
ANSWER / RÉPONSE QUESTION 1
The Atlantic and Pacific Coasts fish stocks overall show little improvement, despite the management
strategies that have been implemented to try to increase fish population. This is primarily due to
overexploitation
North Coast and Hecate Strait
Herring and Salmon populations are low overall. The Prince Reupert Herirng stock is moderate in
abundance, while the Haida Gwaii stock has shown little improvement for the past ten years, The
Central Coast Herring stock numbers are at a record low in abundance. Sockeye Salmon population
has been consistently declining since the 1990 s due to the dangerous nature of their route of migration
of this species through to the Gulf of Alaska. Groundfish stock tends to vary from year to year. The
decline in dissolved oxygen in these areas has shown to affect distribution. Groundfish stocks are
improving overall, but those of shorter life spans (ie. flat fish) show much greater improvement then
those with longer life spans (ie. rockfish).
West Coast Vancouver Island Pacific hake, herring and Sockeye salmon, all remain in low abundance
in this area. The size of herring when they reach maturity is also declining. Sockeye survivability is
considered low in 2010. A single species the pacific sardine was once collapsed coast wide, has now
reached its original full range in this ecozone. Groundfish stocks on Vancouver Island, like those
found in the North Coast, tend to experience a decreased dissolve oxygen

Vollmann Poor People
Nelson Mandela once said, Poverty is not natural it s man made. This quote states that a person can
overcome poverty if one has the desire to live a better life. In a novel called Poor People written by
William T. Vollmann, the author travels around different countries and places to learn about poor
people and to get a global perspective view. While interviewing different kinds of people, Vollmann
would ask them one question: why are you poor? Looking at people s answers Vollmann noticed that
some of the people gave quite interesting answers. Vollmann went through a lot of situations where he
just couldn t imagine what life would be if he was ever to live like that. Another novel that has a
similar poverty situation is called Let The Water Hold Me Down, written by Michael Spurgeon. Hank,
the main character of the novel, experiences a tragic moment in his life. Losing his wife and daughter
while drowning, this tragedy left him feeling like it s all due to his miscarrying about them. His life
becomes full of sorrow, and the only way out it was to go to Mexico to his friend s place and restart
his life over. In a new country of Mexico, this story takes place. Even though he had money, a house,
and friends support, he still experienced lots of pressure trying to survive in Mexico. Poverty has
different meanings in everyone s lives but by reading these two novels, there are three similarities that
can be made about people living in poverty.

Unnatural Motifs In Macbeth
Shakespeare uses unnatural motifs to show how Macbeth and everyone around him cannot escape
their ultimate destinies.
At the beginning of the play, Macbeth meets the Weird Sisters and starts his chain of unnatural
circumstances and his great destiny. As Macbeth and Banquo are walking back from battle, they meet
the weird sisters who confusingly hail him as Thane of Glamis (1.3.51), Thane of Cawdor (1.3.52),
and as the king hereafter (1.3.53). These confusing actions disturb Macbeth because he sees it as three
weird women hailing him as king hereafter after waiting for him outside of a military battle. After
many festivities and the title of Thane of Cawdor being entrusted to Macbeth, Banquo wakes up at
night and tells Macbeth that he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Banquo is killed, Macbeth goes to the weird sisters to learn more about his destiny, to which he
is responded to by an apparition who says that Macbeth must Beware Macduff! Beware the Thane of
Fife! (4.1.81 82) and another apparition who says for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth.
(4.1.91 92). This is highly unnatural because the witches have summoned apparitions to tell Macbeth
his destiny, and that is very unnerving knowing that these apparitions know these things, as well as the
witches knowing how to summon apparitions. Through this, a dark mood is created as to what thing
not born of woman would kill Macbeth and lead him to his ultimate fate. Later on as Macbeth
prepares for Macduff s siege on his castle, a messenger comes and says that as he did stand his watch
upon the hill (5.5.37), that The Wood began to move. (5.5.39). The fact that the woods began to move
is very unnatural and creates a dark mood for the scene because this unnatural circumstance is
foreboding of Macbeth s great destiny coming after him faster than he expected it

Fixed Economy vs Floating Economy
Chris Rudy Issue analysis 4/29/20710 The global economy has expanded exponentially since the
beginning of the 20th century. A very important issue that has come to develop in the last thirty years
is the global economy more or less abandoned a fixed currency system and using the modern floating
currency/exchange model in an attempt to regulate markets in the newly developed foreign market
economy. But what effects, both positive and negative have there been in the adoption of a floating

implementation? To really be able to analyze the issue it is important to know the background of this

that London itself is one of the largest international banking hubs in the global community and
exchange wise, the GBP has always been relatively good when compared to the US dollar or the Euro.
It is interesting to note however that Japans currency is listed as the safest currency to invest in with

floating market economy. It will be very exciting to watch and see how much of a player Japan will
become in the global market place in the coming years. Now for the benefits and negative
consequences of floating markets, first the benefits: with floating currency it enables countries to
revalue or devalue their currency in terms of the international market. Nations that are involved in
floating currencies also have the ability to pursue public policy as it relates to the economy (growth,
employment) without outside constraints (Levy Yeyati and Sturzenegger 2005). Usually a fixed
economy is a pre cursor to importance of a nation to devalue or revalue its currency in a time of crises.

Child Beauty Pageants Child Abuse
Monica Landrum Landrum 1
Mrs. Wilkie
English 1101
12 January 2014 Title
Although they seem undisputed and lighthearted, child beauty pageants are one of the most
contentious and criticized of all children s activities. While all other types of beauty contests are often
viewed as distasteful, child beauty contests yield an even greater unfavorable response. Many
individuals go as far as critiquing the pageants as being child abuse. Some say the beauty pageants
sexualize the young girls and place unnecessary expectations of beauty at too early of an age.
Contributors argue that the pageants help to build confidence and to teach the girls traits such as
having poise and self control. Child beauty pageants are contests constructed to reward adolescence
for their looks and charisma. There are many different components to every pageant. The children are
often judged on how well they do during their interview, they re judge on their appearance, then on
their talents. The events are set up by age groups, such as 0 to 6, so the criticism is fair. Each age
division winner usually wins a crown or a trophy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The French Revolution And French Revolutions
Although the American and French revolutions both took place in the late 18th century, both fought
for independence, and both portrayed patriotism, the revolutions are markedly different in their
origins; one which led to the world s longest lasting democracy and the other to a Napoleonic
Dictatorship.
Political revolutions in America and France happened because people felt dissatisfied with the way
their country was run. In North America they rebelled against rule from a foreign power, they wanted
to rule themselves. In France the citizens executed their weak king and tried to introduce a democracy.
Many features distinguish the French Revolution of English and American revolutions that preceded
it. Finances: Both the American Revolution and the French Revolution were products of desperate
economic conditions. France was having a budget crisis, they were bankrupt. Years of bad budgetary
decisions and failed efforts to fix the problems. The king was forced to call together the estates

Third Estate spoke out on their unfair treatment. However, the nobles and clergy also felt that they too
were being treated unfairly. Images of hungry and poor French peasants are still familiar.
France was in crisis. Food was scarce, prices were high and the government was bankrupt. In order to

Coolie By Mulk Anand Analysis
Coolie: A Saga of Inequality and Exploitation
Abstract: The nineteen thirties were the most confused years in Indian history. It was the time of
Indian thrash about for sovereignty and everyone was effected by the blow of this even poetry, drama
and novel too. So Anand could not stay uninfluenced by it. He suffered a lot so this made him
abhorrence imperialism. He was conscious of the sufferings of our community from dearth and
nastiness. No one in India had yet written the classic on this suffering effectively because the realities
were too rudimentary for a writer like Tagore. Mulk Raj Anand an immense Indian novelist draws our
consideration through his immortal characters Munno and Bakha, from existent civilization. As a
novelist he speaks on pragmatism, variance, humanism and exploitations. Anand wrote about real
natives whom he knew quite intimately. Mulk Raj Anand awakens social principles by his works. He
arouses compassionate sensation of readers for the subjugated and under privileged, who suffer a lot.

None of the DS launch titles have exactly boasted impressive visuals but Daigasso! doesn t look like it
even tried. Everything is colourful but the emphasis is squarely on functionality. Animations are
scarce and the few static pictures are mostly of the bat girl. Daigasso! is obviously a very niche title
and not everyone is going to wade through all the foreign text just to experience it. Those that make
the effort will find it worth their while and hopefully a English version is not too far off. Just goes to
show that you don t need gimmicky plastic peripheral to enjoy a good rhythm game.
A rhythm game on the DS might sound like a strange choice but it definitely works. Utilizing every
button and the touch screen things get way more hectic than in any guitar hero or rock band game. The
midi tunes sound great and there s enough variety to keep you playing for a long time. As long as you

Taking a Look at Complentizers
Chapter 1: Complementizers
1.1. Definition of Complementizers
Complement clauses, or subordinate clauses, are most of the times preceded by a special word called
Complementizer . Words like that, if, and for are used to introduce clauses that function as a
complement of the matrix verb. The choice of the verb in the subordi nate clause is related to these
complementizers. For instance, the complementizers that, if and the Arabic complementizer ʔanna are
used to introduce finite clauses, while for and the Arabic ʔan are, of course, for infinitival ones.
Our focus in this chapter is going to be on the study of each type of these com plementizers in
isolation.
1.2. Finite complementizers
A finite clause contains a conjugated verb, that is a verb marked for tense, person, and number. In
English, finite clauses have an overt subject. (Marguerite Mahler:2004). Whereas, a finite clause in
Arabic is the clause that has a conjugated verb in one of the tenses of Arabic ( present, past, and
future).
It is well known that the main, or the matrix, clause of a complex sentence must be fi nite. While, on
the other hand, the finiteness of the embedded clause is related mainly to the complementizer that
precedes it. Consequently, the clauses that follow the comple mentizers that, if, and the Arabic ʔanna
are finite clauses.
1.2.1. The complementizer that
That is a complementizer used to introduce finite declarative clauses that function as a complement or
subject of the matrix clause.

Auguste Bartholdi
Although the creation of the Statue of Liberty was a group effort, the Creative Hero behind the
massive project was Auguste Bartholdi.
Bartholdi was born in Colmar, France on August 2, 1834. Through his childhood and early adulthood
Bartholdi extensively studied art, sculpture, and architecture in Colmar and later Paris. Eventually, he
landed on sculpture as his passion.
Some of Bartholdi s early sculpture work is in Colmar and was cast in bronze. Like most creators,
Auguste Bartholdi got his inspiration for the Statue of Liberty from his experiences on a trip to Yemen
and Egypt with other artists. This trip sparked his interest in colossal sculpture after visiting the

The And The Righteous Sufferer
Job and the Righteous Sufferer The question Why do bad things happen to good people? has most
likely been around for a very long time. It will always stay relevant as long as there are natural
disasters killing so many people and making others suffer, many of them being innocent. There is no
common factor found among all people that suffer great physical and emotional pain. It happens to
people of all religions, ethnicities, and morality. Suffering does not seek out the guilty, it is just a part
of life. Bad things happen to good people, because bad things happen to all people, so even the
righteous can suffer, which is seen in The Poem of the Righteous Sufferer, and The Book of Job.

He simply will never know their reasoning or their intention of allowing earthly events to unfold the
way that they do (RS II:36 37). He says he does not understand the people who praise gods when
things go well, but reject them as soon as things turn for the worse, which he also says can happen
instantly (RS II:44 47). The speaker questions these hypocritical people, and seems to have a better
grasp on the true nature of the gods than the average person. He knows that humans cannot understand
the gods, and never will. Much of the same can be said about Job, the book s eponymous character.
Like Shubshi meshre Shakkan, he is a righteous man. God goes as far as to call him a blameless and
upright man and says he is a one of a kind worshipper (Job 1:8). He also endures great suffering,
which all came as the result of Satan questioning if Job s worshipping was true and pure (Job 1:10 11).
God takes Satan up on this bet and allows him to cause make Job s life miserable (Job 1:12). At first,
Job stays a righteous man, but eventually he breaks down and curses his birth (Job 3). Job becomes
exactly the type of person that Shubshi meshre Shakkan was talking about (someone who questions
God in bad times), and his friend Eliphaz tells him that. He says, Your words have supported those
who were stumbling, and you have made firm the feeble knees. But now it has come to you, and you
are impatient, (Job 4:4 5). Eliphaz also believes Job s suffering is a direct

Lord Of The Glies And John Locke s Lord Of The Flies
Jordan Early Nathan Carpenter PHIL 101.004 4 December 2017 John Locke Lord of the Flies In the
book, Second Treatise of Government , John Locke explains to the readers how a government should
be run and the freedoms that people should have. He also talks about the natural laws that people
should follow. Locke petitions a natural law of morality to govern people before they enter a society.
But in order to conserve themselves, people come together to lay a foundation for a government. Once
that has begun, the people agree on certain fundamental behaviors to follow. According to Locke, this
action breaks down their natural rights as human beings. This follows the movie, Lord of the Flies, as
boys are stranded on a remote island out at sea. The boys start out in Locke s state of nature. Due to
them being all alone, they work together to survive. While beginning their new life as a uniform tribe,
they inevitably come to an unacceptable state of war that gives rise to complete and utter chaos on the
island. John Locke describes the state of nature as a state all men are naturally in, and that is, a state of
perfect freedom to order their actions, and dispose of their possessions and persons, as they think fit,
within the bounds of the law of nature, without asking to leave, or depending upon the will of any
other man (§4). The state of nature is a state of equality, where not one person has a sense of power
over other people. It is the time before a society

This similarity is yet another way in which Supernatural melds traditional Celtic folklore/fairylore

How Did Stalin Use Propaganda
Secondly, both exploited propaganda to promote their own ideology to the society and cult of
personality to strengthen their supreme authority. The USSR mainly used cult of personality to

Stalin received were two of the most striking features of Soviet propaganda. By the end of the 1940s,
Stalin dominated the USSR physically as well as politically. His images were found everywhere, as he
has already been exaggeratedly deified. Praise was stacked on Stalin personally and his link with
Lenin and his role in the achievements of the First Five Year Plan was emphasized. From 1935
onwards, it was possible to speak of Stalin only in glowing terms. He was portrayed as the leader
(vozhd), a genius with great wisdom and even prophetic powers. The portrayal of Stalin gave his

sick of being silenced : 14 women share their abortion stories as fourteen women acknowledge this
external pressure when sharing their stories. Society has progressed to the point where we must

This is essential when trying to understand societal views on topics such as abortion.
To begin, we will look into Thomas Hobbes, an English philosopher. If Hobbes was still living in
today s society he would advocate for legalizing abortions due to the simple reason he declared that

Comparing Henry V And St. Joan Of Arc Henry and Joan During the scenes of Henry V and St. Joan of Arc, it is noticed that there are certain expectations that are expected of each Joan and Henry. Joan shows that being just a girl doesn t have to determine what you do and Henry makes it known that if you do certain things that you believe in, that you are still a man and shouldn t listen to what other have to say and to prove them wrong. This is where both people have similarities and differences when it comes to their gender roles. For King Henry V, he is doubted sometimes that he is not a true man and that since he is a king he should act like one. Henry shows and tells that when he is having a conversation with his men about being a good king and man. He said Though it s not my place to say so, I think the king is, after all, only a man, the same as me. The violet smells to him the same as it does to me. As ridiculous as it sounds, falling in love for your captor or abuser has been an actual phenomenon that unfortunately exists in our world; Often called Stockholm Syndrome, Or Norrmalmstorg Syndrome , it is a psychological condition that makes the captive believe in an alliance with their captor. On August 23, 1973 in Stockholm, Sweden 4 bank workers were taken in hostage by Jan Erik Olsson for a 6 day stand off with the police at the Kreditbaken until the workers were finally released; Jan Erik was immediately put under arrest after surrendering. However, once the captives were freed, they showed shocking behavior of showing sympathy and made positive relationships with Jan Erik; this baffled people when the captives started acting like this considering the fact that Olsson and his accomplice Clark Olofsson tortured them with nooses and dynamite sticks and threatened to kill them many times during those 131 hours. • 11. Analysis Of Storm Warnings By Adrienne Rich No storm is experienced the same. Seeing a storm on the horizon has the power to stir up gripping memories, introspective thoughts, and convoluted emotions. The poem Storm Warnings , by Adrienne Rich, applies a predictable structure paired with flowing syntax, and ambiguous diction speaking both of weather and emotions to illustrate that one cannot avoid the tribulations of life, embodied as the approaching storm, but instead prepare for their arrival. Storm Warnings, true to its literal subject matter, possesses flowy sweeping syntax created by the strategic use of commas and phrasing to draw parallels between the physical oncoming winds and the gales of life. The author crafts a long run on sentence that spans the first stanza and carries on into the latter portion of the second to mirror the continuous flowing of windy weather and the forward motion of life. Once the speaker notices the brewing storm, they walk from window to closed window, watching boughs strain against the sky. In this portion of the affromented run on sentence, alliteration, rhythm, and the repetition of words all contribute to the impression of movement. The various w sounds at the beginnings of words and the repetition of the word window create a sensation of continuously flowing forward, especially when read aloud; the comma adds a small swirling pause to the rhythm, which is then soon after resumed with the word watching. Just as the poem rhythmically moves forward with its long phrases connected with frequent commas, so must life carry on with each additional experience, whether it be misfortunes or joys. The elongated syntax allows all these elements to work together within sentences to highlight the similarities between physical storms and emotional struggle and to stress the inevitability of predicaments in life. Despite the flowing syntax, the poem has a clear and predictable structure to replicate the persona s calm familiarity with experiencing and answering to storms in their life. It is interesting to note that even though parlous weather is on its way, there is a lack of panic, chaos, and anomalies in the structure of the poem. There continues to be seven lines in each stanza throughout the piece; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An overwhelming amount of evidence points to the fact that mankind s actions, specifically the emission of greenhouse gasses are having drastic effects on the planet s climate. B. In America, Industry, in general is responsible for twenty percent of all greenhouse emissions C. However, many people believe that this number can be greatly reduced by implementing cap and trade on carbon emissions. D. Some people believe that cap and trade is the most environmentally and economically sensible approach to controlling greenhouse gas emissions. The cap sets a limit on greenhouse emissions that a company can release. This cap is lowered over time to reduce emissions. Then the trade allows companies to trade their emissions. So for example if company A has very low emissions compared to company B who has high emissions. Company A can trade Company B the emissions that they have not used up. This essentially would create a market for emissions while at the same time lowering emissions. This system would allow industry leaders to plan for a future that is sustainable without hurting their profit margin too much and the amount of emissions released could not be monitored. E. Turkmens had no alternative, all of Turkmen gas from the Dauletabad field was exported through the Soviet era Central Asia Center Pipeline System which was built between 1960 and 1988 and carried gas from Turkmen and Uzbek fields to a hub on the Russian Kazakh border called Alexandrov Gai and then linked to the Russian pipeline network. Initially Russia bought the Turkmen gas at a very cheap rate and then resold it to the European markets at a price several times higher than what it paid the Turkmens. In March of 2008, following a meeting in Moscow between Gazprom and top energy officials from the region it was announced that beginning in 2009 the sale of natural gas will be made at European prices; however, Turkmens in particular had already realized the need for diversification. Turkmens started looking for alternatives to their export routes and one of the main directions they looked toward was the east, at the new rising dragon, China. The ... • 25. Art Therapy Personal Statement I have come a long way on my life journey to be here in New York to study art therapy. Prior to this study, I was a graphic designer. Today, I introduce myself as an artist and a prospective art therapist. I grew up in South Korea, that is mono cultural, and spent my first 25 years in Seoul, the capital city, having an ordinary childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood. Although my life is not remarkable like that of many artists, some distinct features nurtured me as an artist and a prospective art therapist. I was engaged in artistic activities since childhood. My mother was the strongest influence; she worked in the education field and was highly interested in art education for children. I was always in an environment with access to art. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although I was not an outstanding student, I was confident with my grades in art classes. An art teacher I met in high school inspired me to be a designer. Yet a design major was somewhat distinguished from the art that I pursued. Her art class had a surpassing influence in my life. In a traditional art class of a Korean high school, students normally learned to draw a plaster model, an oriental painting, and a watercolor still life painting, which were boring for teenagers. They were evaluated by their depiction skills and techniques, and competence in using art materials. However, the instruction of the art teacher in my high school was unique. She obtained permission from the school and to modify the curriculum for the students in order to get them motivated. She truly wanted to encourage and excite her students through her art classes. As adolescents felt that, design was attractive at that time. The art teacher suggested a new design art curriculum instead of the boring instructions. This, T shirt and textile designs, drew students attention even before we started the process, many students participated in, and enjoyed, the art class. We created silk screen printing on T shirts and tie dyed handkerchiefs in her class. This instruction also facilitated an atmosphere of communication. Silk screen printing required at least two people, therefore, we partnered and cooperated together. While tie dying, students actively interacted, sharing various colors and produced impressive handkerchiefs. The class was noisy yet everyone was focused and enjoyed their artwork; it was close to play , rather than an art class, and enough to capture students interest, student who had only used paint and brushed previously. The walls of the classrooms were decorated by splendid handkerchiefs. Unlike the art we had learned in traditional art class, this was exciting and practical. This new art instruction was sensational. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Prince Reupert Herirng stock is moderate in abundance, while the Haida Gwaii stock has shown little improvement for the past ten years, The Central Coast Herring stock numbers are at a record low in abundance. Sockeye Salmon population has been consistently declining since the 1990 s due to the dangerous nature of their route of migration of this species through to the Gulf of Alaska. Groundfish stock tends to vary from year to year. The decline in dissolved oxygen in these areas has shown to affect distribution. Groundfish stocks are improving overall, but those of shorter life spans (ie. flat fish) show much greater improvement then those with longer life spans (ie. rockfish). In a novel called Poor People written by William T. Vollmann, the author travels around different countries and places to learn about poor people and to get a global perspective view. While interviewing different kinds of people, Vollmann would ask them one question: why are you poor? Looking at people s answers Vollmann noticed that some of the people gave quite interesting answers. Vollmann went through a lot of situations where he just couldn t imagine what life would be if he was ever to live like that. Another novel that has a similar poverty situation is called Let The Water Hold Me Down, written by Michael Spurgeon. Hank, the main character of the novel, experiences a tragic moment in his life. Losing his wife and daughter while drowning, this tragedy left him feeling like it s all due to his miscarrying about them. His life becomes full of sorrow, and the only way out it was to go to Mexico to his friend s place and restart his life over. In a new country of Mexico, this story takes place. At the beginning of the play, Macbeth meets the Weird Sisters and starts his chain of unnatural circumstances and his great destiny. As Macbeth and Banquo are walking back from battle, they meet the weird sisters who confusingly hail him as Thane of Glamis (1.3.51), Thane of Cawdor (1.3.52), and as the king hereafter (1.3.53). This is highly unnatural because the witches have summoned apparitions to tell Macbeth his destiny, and that is very unnerving knowing that these apparitions know these things, as well as the witches knowing how to summon apparitions. Through this, a dark mood is created as to what thing not born of woman would kill Macbeth and lead him to his ultimate fate. Later on as Macbeth prepares for Macduff s siege on his castle, a messenger comes and says that as he did stand his watch upon the hill (5.5.37), that The Wood began to move. (5.5.39). A very important issue that has come to develop in the last thirty years is the global economy more or less abandoned a fixed currency system and using the modern floating currency/exchange model in an attempt to regulate markets in the newly developed foreign market economy. But what effects, both positive and negative have there been in the adoption of a floating model compared to a fixed model? Is the global economy better off or worse off by this implementation? Child Beauty Pageants Child Abuse Monica Landrum Landrum 1 Mrs. Wilkie English 1101 12 January 2014 Title Although they seem undisputed and lighthearted, child beauty pageants are one of the most contentious and criticized of all children s activities. While all other types of beauty contests are often viewed as distasteful, child beauty contests yield an even greater unfavorable response. Many individuals go as far as critiquing the pageants as being child abuse. Some say the beauty pageants sexualize the young girls and place unnecessary expectations of beauty at too early of an age. Contributors argue that the pageants help to build confidence and to teach the girls traits such as having poise and self control. Child beauty pageants are contests constructed to reward adolescence for their looks and charisma. There are many different components to every pageant. The children are often judged on how well they do during their interview, they re judge on their appearance, then on their talents. The events are set up by age groups, such as 0 to 6, so the criticism is fair. Each age division winner usually wins a crown or a trophy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The French Revolution And French Revolutions Although the American and French revolutions both took place in the late 18th century, both fought for independence, and both portrayed patriotism, the revolutions are markedly different in their origins; one which led to the world s longest lasting democracy and the other to a Napoleonic Dictatorship. Political revolutions in America and France happened because people felt dissatisfied with the way their country was run. In North America they rebelled against rule from a foreign power, they wanted to rule themselves. In France the citizens executed their weak king and tried to introduce a democracy. Definition of Complementizers Complement clauses, or subordinate clauses, are most of the times preceded by a special word called Complementizer . Words like that, if, and for are used to introduce clauses that function as a complement of the matrix verb. The choice of the verb in the subordi nate clause is related to these complementizers. For instance, the complementizers that, if and the Arabic complementizer ʔanna are used to introduce finite clauses, while for and the Arabic ʔan are, of course, for infinitival ones. Our focus in this chapter is going to be on the study of each type of these com plementizers in isolation. 1.2. Finite complementizers A finite clause contains a conjugated verb, that is a verb marked for tense, person, and number. In English, finite clauses have an overt subject. (Marguerite Mahler:2004). He knows that humans cannot understand the gods, and never will. Much of the same can be said about Job, the book s eponymous character. Like Shubshi meshre Shakkan, he is a righteous man. Lord Of The Glies And John Locke s Lord Of The Flies Jordan Early Nathan Carpenter PHIL 101.004 4 December 2017 John Locke Lord of the Flies In the book, Second Treatise of Government , John Locke explains to the readers how a government should be run and the freedoms that people should have. He also talks about the natural laws that people should follow. Locke petitions a natural law of morality to govern people before they enter a society. But in order to conserve themselves, people come together to lay a foundation for a government. Once that has begun, the people agree on certain fundamental behaviors to follow. According to Locke, this action breaks down their natural rights as human beings. This follows the movie, Lord of the Flies, as boys are stranded on a remote island out at sea. The boys start out in Locke s state of nature. Due to them being all alone, they work together to survive. While beginning their new life as a uniform tribe, they inevitably come to an unacceptable state of war that gives rise to complete and utter chaos on the island. John Locke describes the state of nature as a state all men are naturally in, and that is, a state of perfect freedom to order their actions, and dispose of their possessions and persons, as they think fit, within the bounds of the law of nature, without asking to leave, or depending upon the will of any other man (§4).
