Pilot study is a process that carried out at the end of the

the elements.

same general character as the main study

problems
4. Scientific : to assess the response, effect, and variance of the effect

• To test as many of the elements of the research proposal as possible in
order to correct any part that does not work.
• To test the variables used in the operational definition are actually
observable or measurable
• To pre test the instrument that are going to be used in the data
collection

attempted

1. Every research study should have a pilot study/pretest
2. Each pilot study should have a proper sample representative which means
at least 10% of the anticipated sample size
3. The information gathered during the pilot study should be kept
confidential
4. The samples in the major study should not be in contact with the pilot
samples
