This document describes a physics investigatory project to study the variation in current flow in a circuit containing a light dependent resistor (LDR) due to variation in light. The project involves building a circuit with an LDR that switches on a buzzer when light is blocked. Extensions of the concept like using invisible light and developing people/traffic counters are discussed. In conclusion, the LDR based electronic switch can be successfully used for applications like home intruder detection systems and automatic counting systems.

This paper deals with the Internal quantum efficiency of ITO, CdTe, ZnO/a-Si, SnS/Si, CdS /CIGS, FTO/CZTS based of material photodiode with a ITO/CdTe, ZnO/a-Si, SnS/Si, CdS /CIGS, FTO/CZTS heterojunction structure. Along with information on device characteristics, applications and properties, we provide a comparative device analysis between this type of photodiode and the slightly more efficient ITO/CdTe, ZnO/a-Si, SnS/Si, CdS /CIGS, FTO/CZTS heterojunction structure. We will get the clear concept of the relation between of generated current & load voltage. We hope, we will get a clear explanation about the effect of photodiode light intensity & wavelength on the solar efficiency. In this project we will analyze the Quantum efficiency of a photodiode.

A Novel Technique of Power Extraction from a Conventional Fluorescent Lampijtsrd
Fluorescent lamps are commonly used in our homes as a source of light. The conventional lamps use a choke and a starter arrangement for starting discharge in the tube. Under normal working conditions an appreciable potential drop occurs across the choke. The circuit being inductive the power factor is also low. Now is there any way of utilizing this voltage drop? Experiments were carried out with a view to using this potential drop to provide energy at low wattage without hampering the normal operation of the tube light. Interesting results were obtained. The power factor was also found to improve. In this paper a method of utilizing the voltage drop across the choke of a fluorescent lamp as a source of energy has been elaborated. 2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

cit"cuit (described later) is connected to a relag which is in turm
comnected to am external buz.er.
The relag is a special tgpe of switch which rs driven bg its
rwagnetic coil. The relag
'has
two positions. ln de-energized
condition, position-l- will be a,ctive and in energized conditiom,
wlnen the circuit is powered, the relag goes to position-1- to
wh,ich the buzze,r is comnected.. Thus, the bur.er wiil start ringing.
But when the tight source is switched" on, the resistance of UOa
falls and this drives the transistor switching circuit and the relag
gets energizbd.. This puts the relag switch in position-z, which
cuts .off the buzzer. tn this iond, itiom, whenever the light beavw is
intercepted bg an opaque object, the LDR stops receiving the
incid.ent light and" its rosistance becotnes high. Thk d"e-energizes
the relag and puts it to position-7. and the buzer starts ringing.
Thus, to suvnvvtarize, we ca^ sag that the if the light source is om
and. the LpR is illuvv, inated., the buzzer will not ring. But the
rnovvrent, the figlr$ source is interrupted, the buzz.er witt

we can luvtagine the intercuption of the light beavvt, to be

flte circuit uses two transistors, comnec:ted in series. The base
voltage of the first tramsistor is ad,justed carefullg through the
variable resistor (potentiovvreter) so that the slightest imcrease in
the base voltage can fire the transistor TL. Thus, when there is
no light on the LDR, the transistor rernaims un-fired. But when
Iight falls on the LDR, the LDR starts conducting and the net

causing TL to fire. Therefore, the collector current of ft d.rives

A photoelectric device can be either intrinsic or extrinsic. An
intrinsic semiconductor has its own charge carriers and is not an
efficient semiconductor, for example, silicon. ln intrinsic devices
the only available electrons' are in the valence band, and hence
the photon must . have enough energy to excite the electron
across the entire bandqap. Extrinsic devices have impurities, atso
called dopants, added whose ground state energy is closer to the
conduction band; since the electrons do not have as far to jump,
Iower energy photons (that is, Ionger wavelengths and lower
frequencies) are sufficient to trigger the device. lf a sample of
silicon has some of its atoms replaced by phosphorus atoms (im
Photoresistors are less light-sensitive devices

there will be extra electrons available for conduction.
