DUPLICATE THE LAYER
Step 1 – Right click on the
image layer and select
Duplicate Layer…
Step 2 – Click ok on the pop
up menu
CLICK ON THE TOP LAYER
DESATURATION
Step 1 – Click the Image
menu
Step 2 – Go to
Adjustments
Step 3 – Click Desaturate
Step 4 – Your Image will
turn black and white
THE RESULT…

Step 1 – Select the
Eraser tool (Rubber)
Step 2 – Now carefully
rub out parts of the black
and white layer and you
will see the effect is
effective
WHY DOES THIS WORK?
The two images are directly over each other
and by rubbing out the black and white image
the colour one underneath is allowed to come
through.
