The document discusses various technologies used in creating a teen movie opening, including a JVC HD-Pro camera for filming, Mac and Final Cut Pro for editing, and Motion for creating titles and idents. While these technologies helped enable the project, they also had some limitations. The camera's battery died quickly, Final Cut Pro could make rendering stressful, and Motion imposed rigid templates. Other tools like Blogger, YouTube, a flip cam, and storage devices also contributed but with their own flaws. Overall, the technologies were useful for the project but also had aspects that reduced their usefulness or created challenges.
2. ALL THE TECHNOLOGIES WE USED:
As we were making a film we had to use a variety of different technology
products. They all helped us in their own and I will be explaining how
they helped me later on in this slideshow.
Here are some examples of the Technologies we used:
• JVC HD-Pro camera
• Mac
• Final cut pro
• Motion
• The internet
• Hard drive-Memory Cards
• Flip Cam/Still Cam
3. JVC HD-PRO (CAMERA)
We used this camera to film all of our film. The camera was easy to use and
allowed us to get everything that we needed while shooing our film. The
shots that we were able to capture good quality. Without this we would
not have any footage for our opening scene or we would have to use a
worse quality camera which would have made our film seem even more
amateur.
On the other hand, the battery would die quite quickly on the camera which
can be quite problematic as it may die in the middle of an important
shot of the film. This reduced the usefulness of the camera.
4. FINAL CUT PRO
Final Cut Pro as extremely useful when making my teen movie opening. We
used this program for editing our piece. It was very easy to use and
helped develop our piece to what is now. Although sometimes it would
make the editing process more stressful and longer than anticipated.
One reason for this is because we had to render the files and if we
didn’t it could ruin our opening scene.
Overall, Final Cut pro is extremely useful but can be a bit of a hindrance to
our movie
5. MOTION
During the production of our teen movie opening, we used motion to make
our film Idents and our title. Motion was easy to use and helped us to
produce unique idents that would be distinguishable form other
production and distribution companies.
Although it allowed you to be creative to a certain extent when it comes to
using a template it can be difficult to make the title sequence seem
completely unique as they can be quite rigid and not allow you to edit it
to a certain extent.
Considering all of this I think that, although it can be extremely useful, it
has it’s flaws which reduces it’s usefulness.
6. THE INTERNET
Many of the websites that we used helped us to connect as a group. We
were able to share ideas over these sites making our work easier to talk
about.
• Blogger: This site was extremely useful when trying to communicate
within our group. Although a lot of the time blogger would not work or
not let us upload our work onto the blog. This could cause a lot of
trouble as, if we needed to meet up to film or edit outside of school we
would not be able to communicate with each other
• YouTube: This helped us to get ideas from other movies similar to ours.
We could easily find similar movies to get ideas from.
7. OTHER TECHNOLOGIES
There were many other technologies that although did not contribute as
much as the others still played a part in making our teen movie
opening.
• Flip Cam: Helped us to document anything that couldn’t be caught by
the JVC camera. This was mostly useful when shooting the blood
scene. The bad thing about it, though is that doesn’t have the best
quality so we couldn’t use it too much.
• Hard Drive (memory cards): These were used to store all the footage
and everything else that we used while producing our film. This was
probably one of the most important things that you need in the movie
because without it there would be no movue.
