During the pre-production, production, and post-production stages of creating a film opening, the document discusses how various technologies were vital. YouTube was used for research, Microsoft Word for scripting, and Blogger for collaboration between team members. A Samsung camcorder and tripod were the primary production equipment. Photoshop was used to create logos and Sony Vegas Pro for editing clips and applying effects like black and white, color correction, and motion blur. Overall, the technologies discussed helped facilitate each stage of the film opening's creation.

2. During all the three stages through out the
production of our film opening, the technology
we used became the most vital factor above all
else. Without it we wold not have been able to
complete the three production stages of our
finished media product.
4. Before starting to craft our film opening, I needed to conduct some
research into it. I found that the most effective way of doing this was by
using YouTube to research other film openings to get a feel of how to
approach this project. YouTube was full of small time film makers
uploading their content trying to get noticed, however these were not
all just small time film makers. Some film openings were very
impressive in how they used the characters and camerawork to convey
a hidden meaning. I tried to use such conventions and techniques
shown in these real media products into my on film opening. Using
YouTube allowed me to see other independent film makers positive
and negative aspects of their product, meaning I could develop mine
based on this.
5. One of the most important aspects to our pre production was creating
our scripts. Microsoft office word allowed us to do this very efficiently,
by saving all of our documented scripts in one place digitally. Meaning
we could not lose them like we could if we had them, in the form of
hard copy, on paper. Word is simple but effective and offers a large
range of features if needed, overall there is very little negative things to
point out about Microsoft word. We experienced no trouble with using
this programme for scripting at all.
6. The most vital part through out the three stages of the production of
our product was blogger. We constantly uploaded and updated blog
tasks on blogger so that We were all connected during production, we
could feed off each other for ideas, concepts and conventions being
used in our different film openings. We used blogger as it is simple and
easy to get the hang of, it is also very cost effective as it is free to
create an account and upload to blogger. All we need is access to the
internet, not even a computer or laptop, I was able to upload to my
blog via my smartphone which was extremely helpful when I needed to
update my blog but was away form my laptop.
8. The camera was extremely important to the production of our film
opening, we chose to use the Samsung HD Camcorder with 52x
optical zoom. This camera provided us with a good quality for money
image and we experienced no troubles when using it for any of the
scenes, no data recorded was lost or got corrupted. The zoom feature
on this camera allowed us to capture a variety of shots and scenes,
from a panning overhead view of the victim to a chase sequence.
9. The tripod was important when needing the camera to be still and
level, we had little scenes of this description. However when we did
need scenes as such the tripod came in very handy. The tripod we
used came equipped with a spirit level which allowed us to make sure
that the camera was still and ready to record when on an uneven
surface. This became surprisingly much more useful than we had
previously expected, the ground in the woodland area we shot our
product was very uneven so it came in handy more times than not.
Helping to perfect the quality of the final product being produced.
11. Photoshop was used in order to create our company production
logo, special tools like the “Burn Tool” were used in order to
touch up some of the areas, as well as the magic wand tool,
which allowed us to cut out parts of an image very quickly. The
“A” tool (text) let me apply the special font onto the image, then
we used the “drag” tool to apply special leaks and smudges onto
the text. Photoshop allowed us to create a logo very quickly, this
meant we had more time to spend editing our film opening.
12. Sony Vegas Pro 13 was used in order to our film opening. all of different our
angles were put onto the “File Explorer” and from there we used the preview box
on the middle to see what clip is from what angle. This saved us a lot of time that
we used on our other blog tasks. We have applied an effect onto each clip, these
effects were:
- Black White (17%)
- Color Correction
- “Night” effect
- Color curves
- Zoom
- Motion blur
