2. • In the research stage we used websites such as YouTube
to search and watch adverts online, both in class time and
at home. This was extremely useful as we were able to
access thousands of adverts all in one place for research
of our ideas and constructing the first ideas. When
researching online in class, we used the Macs, which we
would later be using to edit our filmed work on. This was
done to help familiarise everyone with the Macs to make
the editing and navigation of them much simpler when it
came down to edit. This helped everyone a lot as not
everyone had used these before and were much more at
home, working on PC’s.

4. • We also used the DV cameras in the research stage when
developing ideas for our adverts for ideas such as shot
types and camera movement to portray our product across
to the audience in the best way possible. This was again
done to help the whole group get used to these cameras to
make filming a lot easier once everyone knew how to use
them, and were able to get the filming completed without
having to worry about using the cameras.

6. • In the construction stages we had used the DV cameras to film
which was made very simple, as everyone knew how to use them.
These small portable DV cameras were very useful for this style of
projects as they were very small, compact and easy to carry from
location to location. The advantages of these cameras were how easy
they were to transport around. As we were researching locations, we
needed to move from one are to another and with these cameras it
was made very easy. Also the simplicity of the cameras was a useful
factor as we did not have to spend large amounts of our
time, learning how to use the cameras and was very fast to figure
them out. This maximised our filming time and enabled as much to
be done as possible to get the best quality footage. The disadvantages
of using these small cameras, was the quality of the footage. Once the
footage was filmed, viewing the filmed footage was not in the ideal
quality. This was an issue as small details which had been included in
the frame of shot could not be seen as clear as we had hoped, such as
logos on the Experience body spray can. We made the logos using
both Paint and Fireworks which was difficult at first, as I was a first
time user of fireworks but managed complete it after getting familiar
with its layout.

8. • When editing we used the Macs and iMovie. The Macs
were very easy to operate as we had become familiar with
them through the research stages so once the footage had
been uploaded, the easy use of the Macs made the
navigation of the interface very simple. Using iMovie
was very user friendly and easy to use, doing the basics
of editing such as transitions, audio, credits, and cutting
from shot to shot was very straight forward on this
software. The more complicated areas of editing such as
the input of special effects on screen were not made
possible with this software. For the basics iMovie was
perfect to use as everything was extremely simple and I
could not fault this. Although when down to the more
intricate areas to finalise the production work to make it
the best possible, was not an option as these where not
available on iMovie.

10. • In the evaluation stages of my coursework we where able
to use YouTube and other social networking sites such as
Twitter and Facebook to share out production work and
receive immediate audience feedback this way. This made
receiving audience feedback very simple as we were able
to display our product to a much wider audience than we
originally planned to.
