1 Meckel’s Cartilage –
Dorsal end : Malleus, Incus Mandibular
Ventral end : Mandible Process
Maxillary Process(dorsal):- Pre maxilla, maxilla,
zygomatic bone, some part of temporal bone.
BETWEEN – Anterior ligament of malleus,
sphenomandibular ligament.
Maxillary artery
2 Richert’s Cartilage –
Dorsal end : Stapes, styloid process of temporal bone
Ventral end : Lesser cornu and upper part of body of
hyoid bone
BETWEEN – Stylohyoid ligament
Hyoid and
stapedial artery

5. 3 Ventral end : lower part of body and greater cornu
of hyoid bone

Tubotymphanic Recess :-
Distal part – expands to form Middle Ear Cavity
(tymphanum) and Mastoid Antrum
Proximal part – remains tubular to form
pharyngotymphanic/eustachian/auditory tube.
Tonsillar Crypts :-
Endoderm – stratifies squamous, non – keratinized
epithelium lining the tonsilar crypts on pharyngeal/medial
surface of tonsil
Mesoderm – lymphoid tissue, fibrous capsule and
connective tissue elements of tonsil.
Intra tonsillar cleft (adults)

Dorsal Bulbar Part – Inferior Parathyroid
(Parathyroid III)
Ventral Tubular Part – Thymus
4 Dorsal Bulbar part – Superior parathyroid

Ventral tubular part – is incorporated with the
