Focus on the Future Conference
Save the Date: Focus on the Future conference April 28th
& 29th
collaborative effort with Evergreen Council and HSD in Portland. Pre-
conference dates are April 26th
& 27th
.
Pre-conference 8 hr. workshop with Montana State University on
Positive Cultural Framework – Communication (tentatively scheduled for
April 26th
).
Conference workshop on ‘Innovative Projects’. Looking for speakers.
Klamath Tribes have volunteered to be one of the speakers. Please let
Roxann know if you are available and would like to present at the
conference on your
‘innovative project’.
Group discussed the difficulty in attending conferences due to
restrictions by their agencies around training times as well as competing
conferences. PGS will continue to strive to find ways to have training
opportunities that providers can access.

OPDS Update
Prevention Units goal is to have all plans approved by the end of
January.
The OPDS flowchart was resent out, if you didn’t receive a copy let
Roxann know.
 For Problem Gambling Prevention funds ONLY (A&D 80): You
only need to enter $1 if you are planning on using A&D 80 funds for
allocated budget for a planned program, and when reporting on your
planned programs under implementation use $1 as the actual amount.
No change in how you budget or account for your A&D 70 funds.
Discussion: Thoughts on a separate PG Plan in OPDS next biennium
– joint plans allow for integration – separating plans could create a
hardship – generally positive to keep plans combined with A&D 70
where possible

Adolescent Prevalence Study Discussion
PGS has contracted with the Oregon Council on Problem Gambling
who will be working with Portland State University and Dr. Rachel
Volberg to replicate the Oregon Youth and Their Parents: Gambling and
Problem Gambling Prevalence and Attitudes Study. The questions are
being updated and fantasy sport and bystander interventions type
questions are being added.
