Sports Leaders and Dance Leaders – LEVEL 1 The Physical Education Faculty would like to draw your attention to an exciting opportunity for you to take part in two courses to achieve Level 1 Sports Leaders Awards.  Aston Comprehensive School have been running the Community Sports Leaders Award for a number of years and have achieved great success from the students who participate. This year Level 1 Dance Leaders Award will be piloting too.     The Level One Sports Leaders Award is a nationally accredited scheme which seeks to equip participants with sports leadership skills and then encourages them to put these skills into practice by leading sporting events, practices, schemes etc.  Past Sports Leaders have commented on how the scheme has been a positive inclusion on their CV, aiding them during post 16 courses and has also been a very rewarding experience.  The cost of training has been heavily subsidised by the school, however there is a charge for each course. The course fee for the Community Sports Leaders Award will be £10 and the course fee for the Dance Leaders Award will be £15.

Participation in an activity that requires physical effort which exerts your muscles in order to sustain or improve your health and fitness With your group try to make a definition for exercise with the following words…. What are the effects of lack of exercise on your performance? Become Breathless Sooner  Reach their anaerobic capacity sooner Loss of strength  Muscles become flaccid and weak increases chance of injury  Weight increase Extra weight can  increase fatigue and restrict flexibility. Less Flexibility  Joints are not regularly moved and this could  inhibit their performance.  Aerobic capacity reduced  Not enough O2 gets to the muscles so athletes become fatigued.
Extended Learning Task You need to make a poster for children to try and promote health and fitness.  Use what we have learnt this lesson to help  What health and fitness actually are. Sports Leaders and Dance Leaders – LEVEL 1 The Physical Education Faculty would like to draw your attention to an exciting opportunity for you to take part in two courses to achieve Level 1 Sports Leaders Awards. Aston Comprehensive School have been running the Community Sports Leaders Award for a number of years and have achieved great success from the students who participate. This year Level 1 Dance Leaders Award will be piloting too.   The Level One Sports Leaders Award is a nationally accredited scheme which seeks to equip participants with sports leadership skills and then encourages them to put these skills into practice by leading sporting events, practices, schemes etc. Past Sports Leaders have commented on how the scheme has been a positive inclusion on their CV, aiding them during post 16 courses and has also been a very rewarding experience. The cost of training has been heavily subsidised by the school, however there is a charge for each course. The course fee for the Community Sports Leaders Award will be £10 and the course fee for the Dance Leaders Award will be £15.

Become Breathless Sooner Reach their anaerobic capacity sooner Loss of strength Muscles become flaccid and weak increases chance of injury Weight increase Extra weight can increase fatigue and restrict flexibility. Less Flexibility Joints are not regularly moved and this could inhibit their performance. Aerobic capacity reduced Not enough O2 gets to the muscles so athletes become fatigued.
