  4. 4. Discussion... How did we answer the question at the beginning of the lesson? Has our opinion changed after watching the video? How? Why? How can we be unhealthy but still maintain a high level of fitness? How can health effect fitness negatively, therefore exercise and performance?

Key Terms: 2 minutes Copy down these definitions. Health: a state of complete mental, physical and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. Exercise: a form of physical activity which maintains or improves health and/or physical fitness. Fitness: the ability to meet the demands of the environment. Performance: how well a task is completed. Your aim: learn each definition and have the ability to explain how they can affect each other; providing a sporting example.

  7. 7. Introduction to Health Related Fitness Health Related fitness is made up of 5 components. Your task is to create a rhythm, anagram, poem etc... So that you can remember what the 5 components are. We will look at each component in more detail next lesson. 1. Cardiovascular fitness 2. Muscular strength 3. Muscular endurance 4. Flexibility 5. Body composition Example: Can Mr Motivator Flex Badly ? N.B. The components can be in any order, this is to help YOU remember.
