Assessing Customer Experiences with Customer Service at My...
Introduction
A recent visit to the service department of the local auto dealership I purchased a car from two
years ago forms the foundation of this analysis. As auto dealerships rely on service departments
for the majority of their revenue I thought the experience would be a mix of pure efficiency and
relationship building. Previous experiences with this dealership have shown them to be not as
trustworthy as I had hoped they would be as well. One of the most critical aspects of transitioning
customers from being treated as members of a transaction to actually being fans is trust (Gronroos,
1994). Trust is such a critical catalyst to make a customer experience successful that technologies
need to better measure and evaluate this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He nodded and didn t say another word. I asked him for the cost to look at it and he said there
would be no charge. I got the sense that even though the car was under warranty the dealership
wanted to still make money on this repair. That troubled me. I gave the technician the keys and
he took the car into the repair bays, as I went inside to talk to the service manager and ask them
what the policy was on warranty repairs. He told me they were all covered and would take care of
it. I asked him if technicians were on commission for how many repairs they sold and he just
laughed and walked away.
To this point in the interaction it was clear the dealership looked at me as more of just another
transaction to be completed during their day. There was no specific focus on how to take the
transaction and transform it into more of a conversation or relationship (Gronroos, 1994). The
entire culture of the dealership seemed to resonate with a transaction mindset, as sales people in the
coffee room asked if I wanted to see the new models in the showroom on sale this weekend
(Harris Ogbonna, 1999). One of the sales people had sold me the car that was in for repairs and he
started the conversation with the requisite so how is your 2009 Camry running? and then directly

I reminded him that I had shopped online, was able to get a much better deal through the Toyota

Pros and Cons of Installing Closed-Circuit Television...
Installation of surveillance camera systems as a way to deter crimes or criminal acts has gained
traction in recent years. In some countries, surveillance camera systems also known as closed
circuit television (CCTV) cameras have also installed in educational institutions as a security
measure to address fears for the safety of the students (Hope, 2004; Corpuz, 2011). The trend,
however, did not stop. From halls and corridors, some education institutions have started to install
cameras inside the classrooms as a means not just to monitor the teachers, but also to address
classroom misbehavior (Shepherd, 2009). This paper seeks to cover the possible positive and
negative effects of installing CCTV systems inside the classrooms.... Show more content on

Grant (2004) said educators want video cameras in classrooms to address the issue of violence in
schools. Often teachers who are attacked have no way of proving their claims because pupils who
witness the incidents fail to back up their stories. Video camera footage could be used to
substantiate teachers versions of events as well as to deter pupils from launching the attacks
(Grant, 2004). In the Philippines, the installation of cameras inside the classrooms is seen in a
similar light. As cited in Grafil (2011), University of Santo Tomas security chief Joseph Badinas
said the cameras can be used to track people who are doing something suspicious. The reason
behind the installation of CCTV systems in the classrooms can be attributed to the triadic
reciprocality principle of the social cognitive theory (Bandura, 1986). Under this principle, human
life is consisted of a perpetual series of interactions among the environment, their individual
behavior, and personal cognitive variables like thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions. These three
constructs interact and influences each other reciprocally. Applying the

Ethical Dilemmas In Nursing Practice
Ethical dilemmas will always be a part of our nursing practice due to such a diverse patient
culture. In some cultural groups, religion dictates the care that is given and by whom (Pacquiao,
2016). The purpose of this paper is to discuss an ethical dilemma that I have encountered in my
nursing practice and how the dilemma was perceived. Culturally congruent care will also be
defined. Describe an Ethical Dilemma Working in obstetrics and gynecology, the patient
population is all female. We see many Muslim patients from Arab countries. In any obstetric or
gynecology scenario Muslim women must have a female provider (Mclean et al., 2012). We had a
patient scheduled with one of the male physicians for the first obstetric appointment, where a
physical exam would be completed. When the patient arrived, her spouse informed the staff that
she cannot be seen by a male provider. The male physician was not familiar with this preference.
He was frustrated because when this patient presents to the hospital for delivery, there may not be a
female on call to care for her. Fortunately, there was another physician in clinic that day that could
see her so the patient would not have the inconvenience of being rescheduled.... Show more content

Case Study On GBL
1. As David Ganong, what is your analysis of the situation?
Background The confectionery industry in Canada
The confectionery industry was divided into four major product lines such as sugar confectionery,
chocolates, cocoa based products, and chewing gums. Most Canadian confectionary goods were
produced in Ontario. There were four major multinational chocolate bar companies and Canada was
one of them which means it was quite competitive. I am going to use PESTEL analysis of GBL s
situation.

firms had protection from confectioneries coming into the country. Some of the product lines had

Weakness
п‚џPoor location: GBL is located far way from its major market. It may lead to high transportation
costs and delivered products inefficiency
п‚џLack of economies of scale: GBL has so many independent lines which is hard to achieve
economies of scale
п‚џIncreased fixed cost: the factory was operating at 50 percent of capacity, and none of the
individual product lines was pushing its capacity limits
п‚џStrong player in boxed chocolate but fringe player in other product line such as fruit snacks,

The Conformity Of Individuality In Henry David Twain s...
A nation is only as good as the people who comprise it. In regards to the United States, tragedy
permeates the nation when its citizens decide to conform to the standards imposed by the majority.
As a multitude of Americans alter themselves to fit in and be accepted, their individuality floats
away into the abyss. Nevertheless, the process of conforming may not always be such a bad thing.
Conforming gives Americans the ability to connect to species that holds immense value. A species
greater than anything they could have ever became while isolated. Now, although humans
unconsciously conform to the standards of others, this process of conforming is detrimental to all
Americans as it diminishes a person s self identityalong with their true life s purpose. Every
standard and regulation an American abides by is influenced by their fellow citizens. The basic
human nature of a person propels them to conform to the lifestyle of others. This concept is present
within Henry David Thoreaus Civil Disobedience in which he explains that even the most
successfully men can be imposed on [...] for their own advantage. Thoreau implies that when a
person is exposed to others of high authority or legitimacy, they develop the desire to act like and
feel acceptance from said persons. As Mark Twainillustrates in his essay Corn pone Opinions ,
people base their standards of ideals on a matter of association and sympathy, not reasoning and
examination. Thus as humans rely heavily on

Two Things That Play An Important Role In Jane s Life
Reactions: Throughout this episode I felt stressed for Jane. Choosing between two things that
play an important role in the life of someone is extremely hard to do. She is faced with the
overwhelming pressures of impressing her father or pursuing what will help her get by in life.
She is constantly pressured by Rogelio more than anyone, considering he wants her to be apart
of his life on television. While this is happening, Michael (Jane s ex fiance), is working with his
partner to crack down on their Sin Rostro (big time drug dealer who has not been identified) case.
Michael is stuck on the notion that Rafael is Sin Rostro, but it is partly due to Michael s hatred
towards Rafael. Meanwhile, Rafael is trying his best to impress Xiomara in... Show more content on

I am constantly faced with the decision of choosing between my friends, working, and the sport I
play, but it always works out in the end. I am glad that I do not have to make such a life altering
decision yet.
Beautiful writing: But Jane, this is a tough business. You can t look to others to validate you. If
you choose to make a living in the financial arts, you must believe in yourself. Rogelio speaking
with Jane. I chose this quote because Rogelio does a good job of putting emphasis in what will
really play a role in how her life will be with the career she is choosing. What he says is true; no
one but yourself is able to motivate you and make you successful. Having belief in yourself is more
important than anything else when it comes to success.
Main argument: The main argument of this episode is that no matter what kind of pressures
someone might be facing, it is important that he or she chooses what feels right to them.
One character: This episode definitely shows a lot of character change in Rafael; it is shown that
he is concerned with impressing/winning over Xiomara. It shows how much his character has
changed with Jane. Before Jane, he would not even have considered to be concerned with the
mother s approval of the girl he is trying to

Western Treatment Of Horses
When I was in elementary school, I had very strong feelings about everything. If you said black,
I said white. If you said the sky was blue, I said it was not. Basically, if you thought you were
right, I would attempt to challenge that in any way I could, even if that meant going against all
logical thinking. This obstinance is best described in one time when I felt very strongly about
horses. My familyand I had horses for many years, and so did some of our friends. However, those
friends treated their horses much differently than we did. We treated our horses with loveand
respect, going with the Western style of riding. Our friends still loved their horses, you could tell,
but it was less of a pet type of love than a money making... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Along with my sister and a few other friends, I believed that this technique was harmful to horses.

Assimilation And Culture In Rita Hook s Eating Vinegar
Assimilation vs Cultural Pacification
It is no secret that people in a foreign land often struggle to assimilate into other cultures. This feat
is particularly difficult in China where cultural and familial ties are deep seated. In Eating Vinegar,
Rita Hooks describes the great lengths one must be willing to go to become accepted in a new
culture. She uses foot binding among other Chinese practices and customs to explain how
ridiculous it is to force others to give up their culture and adopt the prevalent one rather than blend
them. One of the most obvious things which distinguished Sadie from her new peers was her
language. Hooks consistently points out the language barrier by always mentioning when people
didn t understand her or spoke in different languages. She also points out when different terms are
used between the two cultures such as kitchen cleaver. Another way language separates Sadie from
society is her job. Her career was limited to tutoring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though most modern Chinese women do not have bound feet, it was still used to evoke racism
toward Sadie. She was frequently teased by her students and peers for having such big feet
which leads to her interest in foot binding. Toward the end of the story she starts posing like the
foot bound women in Heng s book and eventually convinces herself that Heng was upset that she
had big feet which actually turns out to be true. Heng s feelings toward the size of sadie s feet
become evident as the story progresses. He begins with the attitude that he likes big feet saying
that she was his all American girl. Later his true feelings begin to show when he talks about the
poem about the dancing girl with the bound feet. He talks about her feet saying something can be
done about this. When she expresses her pain, Heng plays it off like he was joking and kisses her
feet. This happens again later in the

Spider Bite Research Papers
Insect and spider bites are very common, and most can be treated safely at home without
medical assistance. Unfortunately, there are several types of spider bites that can cause
complications if not treated promptly by a doctor. Country singer, Carelle Mowatt, learned this
the hard way. The 24 year old woman, who lives in England, was surprised to wake up one
morning with a large blister on her leg that had formed after receiving a spider bite. She decided
to treat it at home with antihistamines. The blister continued to grow over in size over the next
several days. When it erupted, Mowatt knew it was time to be seen by a doctor. Doctors told her
that the blister was from a spider bite that had become infected. Mowatt s leg was incredibly... Show

Though they rarely cause death, black widow bites are serious due to the extreme pain. Those

found both indoors and outdoors in the central and southern parts of the United States. They
typically are found in dark, quiet places such as shoes, vents, shoe boxes and in the attic. The
initial bite is painless at first. Within the hour, most people notice a burning sensation at the site.
A small pimple or blister forms within the next several hours. Left untreated, the skin in the

without prompt medical care. After receiving the bite, ice should be applied to reduce swelling.
The spider should be kept, if possible, in a bag in order for doctors to correctly identify it.

What Is Imperialism In Things Fall Apart
As a simply written novel with an incredibly complex theme, Things Fall Apart gives readers a
touch of cultural shock which manages to leave them unwilling to return home after the last page.
Chinua Achebe, the author, bases the plot around the experiences his people group has with
imperialism and uses events throughout the story to prove his opinion on this controversial
occurrence in history. The tale centers around Okonkwo, an Ibo man determined to stay traditional,
which becomes problematic when Europeans begin to take over African tribes and reorganize their
governments. This experience exhibits imperialism, which most know of as the policy of extending
the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries, or of acquiring... Show more

As a way for clansmen to solve problems among themselves, this judgment is vital to the
continuous survival of the Ibo people. The Ibo people s ancestors run the court, with masks to
hide their true identities and keep the illusion real to naive clansmen. Each egwugwu represents
one of the nine villages of the clan, and all gather prior to the tribunal in a hut exclusive to
members of the esoteric cult. Outside the private hut lies the ilo, the village green, where the
Ibo hold these courts and the crowd gathers around the opposing parties and the stools specified
for the elders to watch. The organization and work behind such an procedure supports the Ibo s
civility in that citizens are using their time to settle issues that others have and work together to
solve problems that may not even involve them. When a culture cooperates to achieve peace, it
proves that their relationships with each other are healthy and without any bonds between
citizens to hold a culture together, there will undoubtedly be separation which leads to falling
apart. The fact that the Ibo do this supports their civility and that they do not need imperialism.
Further evidence is provided when Evil Forest, the leader of the egwugwu, states We have heard
both sides of the case... our duty is not to blame this man or to praise that, but to settle the
dispute (93.) When a court hears both sides of a case, it proves that they value equality which is
a key quality in a civilized society as it allows everyone in the clan to be treated the same and that
prevents displeasure which could lead to a clan s destruction. Thus a judicial system becomes
necessary to an established tribe and the fact that the Ibo people have one supports the claim of
their civility and that they do not need

Disability Movement
Prior to reading this article I never truly understand the harsh conditions that the disabled had to

abusing the disabled got away with doing so for so long. Yet, while further reading through the

possible fear of the disabled. The article spoke about how the disabilitymovement did not really
start until after Dr. Samuel Gridley started a schoolfor idiotic children (Pfeiffer D. 1993). This was
a start to helping disabled more, but a very small start at that. Soon after the school was shut down
for dehumanizing the disabled. I feel that this idea was a great idea and start to the disabled

The Human Brain And Brain Disorders
the human brain can be burdened with various diseases and disorders. Since the brain acts as the
bodies control system, any malfunctions can result in serious problems to the entire system,
including memory, sensation, and even personality; factors such as illness, genetics, and trauma are
a few of the main things that cause Braindisorders. (Brain Disorders) Degenerative diseases,
psychiatric diseases, brain tumors, brain injuries, and addiction are some major illnesses that
come into play. Degenerative diseases are passed down through generations; an enormous forty
five million people are affected by these conditions, all across the world. Alzheimer s, ALS,
huntington s, and parkinson s disease are all categorized as degenerative diseases. Depression,
schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder are classifies as non other than psychiatric disorders; luckily,
these disorders can be treated with therapy. There is a variety of auspicious options that can be
chosen from accordingly for the patient. Additionally, many individuals suffer from addiction;
while everyone is at risk of addiction in some way shape or form, a few are at higher risk than
others. When a person is suffering from this dreadful condition, they do not think rationally, and
tend to act upon impulses; the craving is at such an intensity in some cases, that the individual is
willing to put everything at risk, and disregard whatever the consequences may be. Biologically,
the chemical makeup and structure of the brain itself undergoes alterations under the
circumstances that the individual repeats his or her use of drugs. By exciting the nerves within
the reward center of the brain, the recipient experiences a feeling of thrill themselves. (Brain
Facts) When a brain undergoes a serious blunt trauma, There is a high chance that brain tissue,
neurons, or nerves could have been severely ravaged, and this may lead to a variation of negative
conditions; hematomas, blood clots, contusions (bruising of the brain tissue), concussions, strokes,
and cerebral edema (swelling within the skull of a person) are all high on the list of disorders
caused by injury to the brain. The ability to connect with the rest of the human body may be very
distorted, therefore,

Bottled Water Analysis
In the most recent episode of Most Expensivest Shit, the show where the Grammy nominated
rapper 2 Chainz sets out to find the most outrageous luxury goods on the planet, he and Diplo
sampled bottled water, but not just any bottled water, one hundred thousand dollar bottled water.
He and Diplo met with America s only water sommelier, Martin Riese, who explained the
difference between the many types of water available for drinking. In the nearly five minute
video, Diplo and 2 Chainz are first taught the difference between bottled waters. While most
people think all water is the same, according to Riese, it is not. As the rainwater falls, it runs
through different areas picking up different minerals along the way. Therefore what is collected in
one area can be completely different than water collected somewhere else, giving it an entirely...

While Diplo thought the water tasted good, Riese stated that he could barely taste anything due to
its low TDS. Vichy Catalan, which is naturally carbonated, was the next water he offered the
artists, which according to 2 Chainz, tastes like Alka Seltzer. Diplo guessed that it was very
healthy due to the strong taste and Riese agreed, admitting that it not only is a healthy water, but is
also great after a night of alcohol over indulgence. The Vichy runs for about thirteen dollars a bottle.
The last bottle of water the boys tasted was the most expensive by far, costing one hundred
thousand dollars. Riese ensures though that you are not just buying the highly fruity tasting
mineral infused water, but you are also purchasing an experience. Aside from America s most
expensive water, Beverly Hills 9OH2O, you get a silver briefcase, four glasses, and a bottle of the
water which has a fourteen karat diamond cap. Riese will also fly it out to you wherever you are

Cursive Is A Powerful Brain Tool
There is no standard way of taking notes. Although students have their own methods of studying
and taking notes, it has been proven that cursive writing is more beneficial to students rather than
taking notes. Most educational programs do not require students to learn cursive writing while
some do. It has been proven to be more effective to those who take notes rather than those who type
their notes. In the article CursiveIs a Powerful Brain tool the author gives a variety of examples as
to why cursive writingis a beneficial writing technique to students. Psychologists did a study on
students who handwrote notes and students who typed their notes. In paragraph 2, the author states,

Robert Nozick s Experience Machine
In this essay, following a brief discussion on Nozick s Experience Machine , I argue that his
assumption that nobody would plug into the experience machine is a false one due to his failure to
fully explore what creates a pleasurable experience. I will then further discuss this idea of pleasure,
suggesting that it is possible that the experience machinecould potentially offer an experience that
people would be more inclined to participate in and that more fully imitates reality. However, I
will counter this with the Nozick s affirmation that people desire to connect with reality and
mimicry of reality does not allow a part in the course of our universe.

For example, most people may not delight in the process of attending school, but they would still
desire the end goal of becoming a more knowledgeable person or even simply the satisfaction of
completing tasks. This is not hedonistic delight, but a fulfilment of desires through relatively
unpleasant means. Nozick seems to offer through his examples that his machine may possibly
simulate these things, as long as the experience is ultimately a pleasurable one, and I suspect that
this means the result is an elevated feeling of joy. If we offer this deeper, more complicated view
on pleasure and fulfilment and state that the experience machine could still offer this to us, it
seems possible that people would be inclined to disagree with Nozick s idea that nobody would

Becoming An Educator As A Educator
Coming from a large family, I ve been around babies and children since I was a child myself. this is
where my passion for children originated. When I turned 12, I got my babysitting license from
Red Cross as soon as I could sign up for the class. Then, after six years of various babysitting jobs
here and there, I received my first professional job in educationat an elementary school in my
neighborhood, working for their after school program. Since that job I can t imagine doing anything
other than teaching.
Throughout my various jobs working with children, and especially during 33 hours of field
placement I was lucky to receive plenty of feedback. For me, the feedback I receive from

In my opinion, one of the most important aspects of teaching is the classroom environment.
Without a healthy, respectful, and safe classroom environment, successful teaching is
impossible. Both Dave and Mary Ann offered positive feedback on this aspect for me. Dave said
Ms. Stanislawski has good command of the classroom. She uses appropriate pacing, knows the
content, and engages students with appropriate questions and responses to student inquiry. And
Mary Ann said Audra has a special way of interacting with students. She seems very relaxed, is
able to quickly think on her feet. She smiles, and is animated when teaching a lesson varying the
tone of her voice, outstretching her arms to illustrate a point, etc. Receiving both these pieces of
feedback encourages me to continue creating the classroom environment that I do. This is an
aspect of my teaching that, although I did not receive any negative feedback, will continue to
work on. This is one of the aspects that I enjoy about my teaching style and with the feedback
given, I will continue to grow and expand on what I already have. This placement was my first
experience working with 7th and 8th grade students. When I was given my placement, I was very
apprehensive about how it would go, although I do not think middle school grades are what I want
to teach, I really enjoyed the placement

Banning Of A College Campus
After recent increase of violence activists arose in college campus the culprit being targeted is
unregulated speech. Many campuses are forming regulations on speech codes, others choose to

educational opportunities. Is there a middle ground that allows individuals to continue their

there is a substantial difference between a corporation and a university. Universities are meant to
be a place of learning and just like science is able to accept new theories, we should be willing to
accept new ideas. Building tolerance as a community allows us to embrace unpopular ideas. That
being said, there is very good reasons to protect offensive or unpopular speech. During the 1950 s,

values of white supremacy. Therefore, should we banned offensive or popular speech solely on the

Macbeth s Order Of The Universe

Pre AP English I
09 March 2017 Macbeth s Order of the Universe
Elizabethan ideologies are based on the Great Chain of Being . The people believe that in an
ordered universe, everything is ranked in order of their superiority. This order coincides with all
religious beliefs as well as the political system. All inhabitants of earth are ranked in the
following order: God, angels, king, man, animals, plants, inorganic material, and lastly, chaos. The
king is similar to a God on earth, so any ill willed acts against the king is a direct attack on God. In
The Tragedy of Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, there is a breakdown of order throughout

However, just by wanting to become more manly when she was meant to be a woman by God,
Lady Macbeth is affecting the order of the universe even before the murder even takes place. You
lack the season of all natures, sleep (3.4.140). Sleeping is essential for maintaining health, but since
Macbeth committed unnatural acts of murder against the innocent, his health, along with mentality,
is at a risky state a curse from nature itself all caused by disrupted sleep. Not only is his crime
evident in the order of the universe, but also with his internal order.
The killing of Duncan leads to a very bizarre switch in roles within nature. A falcon, tow ring in
her pride of place,/Was by a mousing owl hawked at and killed, (2.4.13 14). This reversal brings
discomfort, since even the animal kingdom is starting to be affected by the unravelling of chaos.
An even worse example, King Duncan s horses, Beauteous and swift, the minions of their race,
/Turn d wild in nature, broke their stalls, flung out,/War with mankind. (2.4.15 16,18). There is
nothing a king trusts more than his valiant steed, and similarly both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth
were trusted vassals of King Duncan, who was oblivious of their traitorous nature. However, even
the most trusty steed can turn his back on his master upon smelling the faintest scent of fear. Thus,
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth s thirst for power filled to the extent where they were willing to
overthrow their master.

Evaluation Of A Research On Formative Feedback
3.Reviews/Commentaries
Shute,V. (2008). Focus on formative feedback. Review of Educational Research, 78(1), 153 189.
Shute conducts an extensive literature review of the research on formative feedback because
despite extensive investigation, the author proposes, is still misunderstood due to conflicting
findings and inconsistent pattern results. The focus of this review is that feedback must be
delivered correctly to be effective. Therefore, Shute offers a twofold proposal: to understand the
features, functions, and interactions of feedback in relation to learning and to use the findings to
create guidelines for generating effective formative feedback.
The focus of this study is primarily on performing tasks and the identified issues are several.
Correct delivery of feedback is defined and guidelines are proposed since most research on this
subject concludes that feedback can enhance learning considerably if delivered correctly. The
interaction of task and student characteristics is investigated to address the major gaps in
understanding that still exist, inclusively, instructional context in the efficiency of feedback.
The author defines formative feedback (FF) as information intended to change a student s thinking
or behavior to improve learning. It ought to be specific, helpful, timely, and not judgmental. Types
of FF are: confirmation of a correct answer, clarification of the accurate response, clues, and work
examples. Previous research by Swam (1983) found that

Auditing Self Regulation and Government Regulation
Over the years the accounting profession has been subject to various forms of oversight with
varying degrees of success. Nevertheless, it used to be self regulating. But a series of financial
scandals involving once prominent companies such as Enron, WorldCom and Parmalat lead the
authorities to consider whether the accounting profession s self regulatory oversight system was
appropriate to meet the necessary objectives. These corporate failures had shown that the self
regulatory system did not produce credible results and had the potential to undermine investor
confidence in the integrity of the securities markets (The Treasury, 2006). As a consequence a

The only caveat is that this regulation needs to be efficient and effective. Whatever regulatory
framework is used, be it administered by the profession or government, it must give the regulator
appropriate incentives to act in the public interest. Regulators must have a clear, overarching
purpose and the ability to resist any moves towards regulation that are self interested or motivated
by special interest groups. Serving the public interest means having regulations that achieve their
aim of being effective and efficient without imposing unnecessary costs. The benefits of the
regulation that is, its effectiveness in protecting the public interest must exceed its costs. The
International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) has undertaken work in this area
and has developed a series of principles for regulators. These principles hold that: The
responsibilities of the regulator should be clear and objectively stated; The regulator should be
operationally independent and accountable in the exercise of its functions and powers; The
regulator should have adequate powers, proper resources and the capacity to perform its functions
and exercise its powers; The regulator should adopt clear and consistent regulatory processes; and

However, there have been many studies on the skills that keep women out of engineering as a

being a male. But further research could be done as to why men think women do not posses these
skills? Therefore, women are just as capable as being a engineer as men are if they posses these
qualities.
Women have the qualities that are needed to become good engineers. The only way that women are
different from men in the field is in the training. Women have all the capability to become good
engineers as men if they can receive the proper/same training, employment and promotion as men.
In receiving training women make up a extremely small amount of the student population in science

19% are studying engineering, computer studies, and physicals sciences. Likewise, University
students in Germany were only 48% women. Of the 48% of women only 20% of the engineering
students are women. Women are the minority in engineering and like courses. In Bulgarian they
limited women to only be allowed to make up 50% of engineering students.

The Three Dimensions Of Celebrity Worship
There are three dimensions of celebrity worship which are consistent with the absorption addiction
model (Maltby, Day, McCutcheon, Houran, Ashe, 2005). These three dimensions are entertainment
social, intense personal, and borderline pathological. In the Entertainment social celebrity worship,
an individual develops an attraction to a favorite celebrity, which is consistent with Stever s (1991)
observation (as cited by McCutcheon et al., 2003) about the celebrity s perceived ability to
capture the attention of fans. It includes attitudes and behaviors such as My friends and I like to
discuss what my favorite celebrity has done, and Learning the life story of my favorite celebrity is
a lot of fun (McCutcheon et al., 2003).
The next level of celebrity worship is characterized by Intense personal feelings, where behaviors
and attitudes like I consider my favorite celebrity to be my soul mate, and I have frequent
thoughts about my favorite celebrity, even when I don t want to. are common (McCutcheon et al.,
2003). This is the level where the compulsive and intensive feeling of the fan towards the
celebrity is apparent as well as some occasional obsessive tendencies (Maltby et al., 2005). At this
point, people are absorbed with the life of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reaction Rate Of Reaction
Background: A clock reaction generally involves a mixture of solutions that, after a certain amount
of time, displays a sudden colour change. This process demonstrates chemical kinetics in action,
which is the study of chemical processes and rates of reaction where the reaction rate is the speed
at which the chemical reactionproceeds. It is dependent on several factors that rely on one basic
underlying principle called collision theory. In order for a reaction to occur, the reactant molecules
must collide with each other with a certain minimum energy called the activation energy to break
and form the appropriate bonds as well as have the correct orientation when colliding. If the
favourable amount of collisions increase, then the rate of the reaction would increase. However, if
the reactant particles do not collide frequently or collide with less energy than the activation energy,
they bounce apart and the reaction would then proceed slowly or not at all. Concentration is one of
the factors that affects reaction rate. Raising the concentration of the reactants, alters the number of
particles per unit volume. Thus the more molecules present in a given volume, the greater the
probability of them colliding. If they have energies equal to or greater than the activation energy, a
higher concentration would therefore result in an increase in the reaction rate. The opposite is true
if there is a lower concentration of reactant molecules.
The relationship between rate and

The Case Of Dred Scott
We are so accustomed to waking up every day without a care in the world. We can basically go
wherever we like, eat wherever we like, sit wherever we like, and not have to worry about
another person controlling our every move (unless it s our parents of course)! Imagine a time,
not too long ago, when just because of the color of your skin, you had an owner and were treated
as a piece of property, instead of another human being. A time where you couldn t go into certain
places, sit in certain areas, let alone use the restroom, unless it was in a designated place for your
particular skin color. You weren t labeled as people, but as black or white. Dred Scott was born a
slave in Virginia and had to face these hardships his whole entire life. When he finally walked on
to free soil where slavery was prohibited, he stayed and chose to still be with his owner. Once his

Decision Making On Black Carbon Mitigation
Decision Making on Black Carbon Mitigation
Introduction
There have been myriad of findings over the past couple of years suggesting that climate change
may be happening far faster than we originally anticipated. Climate change has the potential to
trigger abrupt transitions such as the release of carbon from thawing permafrost, ocean
acidification, sea level rise, and biodiversity loss. The world has warmed by about 1.5В°F, and by
2100 it is projected to rise another 2 to 11.5В°F (Karl et al., 2009). Scientists conclude that
greenhouse gases (GHG) from anthropogenic sources are the most significant driver of observed
climate change (IPCC 2013). GHG have the property of absorbing the infrared radiation given off
by the Earth and re emitting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
BC has a short atmospheric residence time of days to weeks, while long‐lived GHGs can persist
in the atmosphere for centuries. Therefore, reductions in GHG emissions will take longer to
influence atmospheric concentrations and will have less impact on climate on a short timescale,
whereas reductions in current BC emissions are immediate (Bice et al., 2009). Apart from that,
some scientists (Shindell Faluvegi 2009, Ramanathan Feng 2009, Quinn et al. 2008, Jacobson
2010) attribute up to 50% of arctic ice melting to BC emissions, therefore its emissions reductions
can substantially decrease the rate at which arctic ice is melting. Thus, initiatives focused on
lowering BC will help offset the impact of decades of GHG emissions and give efforts to reduce
carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions time to get off the ground. It s worth mentioning that BC also has
adverse effect on human health, such as premature mortality, cardiovascular and respiratory
diseases, and development of chronic respiratory disease, so targeting BC emissions will be
beneficial from the public health standpoint (EPA 2011).
Bringing black carbon into climate strategy offers a complementary route to act on climate change,
but the scientific understanding of black carbon climate effects isn t fully complete to support this
proposition. On the one hand, there s a group of scientists who conclude that BC is one of the most
important human emission in terms of its climate forcing in current atmosphere, as it

Why Are Fossils Important
Fossils can tell us a lot about the organisms that came before us. They are useful in dating when
certain evolutionary aspects were achieved in our past as we developed. Fossils have allowed us

part in the advancements of biological evolution. Biological evolution is the way scientists work to

She provided great insight to all the questions that I asked and put her own personal spin on
each question to make it more heartfelt. She drilled hard on knowing your residents and seeing
what they enjoy most. She even supplied me with key tactics I can use when I become an RA in
the fall to determine who my residents truly are. However, there were a few questions that she
was unable to ask, and that was understandable because they were broad topics, such as what I
can expect with my unit at the beginning of the year? . The best answer she provided me was
that it truly depends on who exactly is in my unit and what each individual s personality is like.
Lastly, she also connected to her personal development as an RA and how that has affected her
greatly with her academic studies as well as caused her to become and RA. Her sharing her
insight on her background on being an RA really opened my eyes about becoming an RA in the
fall. With the information being administered to me, I have a better understanding on the roles and
responsibilities an RA has to

Charles Colson
The everlasting tension between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of men draws Charles
Colson, the author of God and Government, to offer seasoned reflection from his experience.
Colson was a well known author, radio commentator, and a former presidential aide to Richard
Nixon. As a former atheist worker in the white house and a converted Christian, he highlights the
concerns of the involvement of religionin politics. Colson understands the possible dilemma of an
individual in trying to keep the Christian conscience while also following a politician s mandate.
Unlike other Christian conservatives, Colson has achieved strong political power in the past. It
ruined his reputation, and he is inoculated against it so he claims, It is power that... Show more

A personal anecdote regarding his experiences builds credibility and draws in interest since a
former politician, Colson, advises people to not be seduced by political powers. Colson s
supposed focus of the book seems to be that a country has an apparent need of biblical Christian
values, but people should not seek to impose them through political legislation; People can,
however, seek to define their rationality in a non biblical sense, and influence society to adopt
them. Although the motive of the book was to explore both sides of the dilemma in a neutral
manner, Colson fails to offer an equally balanced content. His usage of extreme evidence, events
that are very rare, does not support his main point as much. Colson illustrates the danger of media
by stating that it turns every uncertified fact as the truth, but that is not true in my opinion. Media
gives an opportunity for people to build their own opinions regardless of whether an incident is true
or not, so criticizing the media weakens his argument. Colson argues Christians are commanded to
try to influence the kingdom of man by bringing the values of the Kingdom of God to the political
arena but in the beginning he claims that Christians should not express their political stance as a
group. As a reader, it is confusing to understand the main

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Psychological Disorders
A psychological disorder is defined as a behavior that exhibits a collection of symptoms that
cause stress and/or disability to an individual. These disorders can range from alcohol and
substance abuse to Alzhiemer s and schizophrenia. Studies show that about 46% of the United
States population suffers from a mental disorder some time in their life. There are many forms
of treatment available, as the effects of these disorders cause distress and suffering not only to
the individual, but for those around them too. The two main forms of treatment are biomedical
therapy and verbal therapy. Biomedical therapies are medicinal drugs administered to a patient
by a psychiatrist. Verbal therapies are talk sessions that a patient has with a psychologist. The
prescription of drugs is the most common type of treatment in resolving psychological disorders.
Based on a study done by the National Center for Health Statistics, the usage of psychiatric drugs,
more specifically antidepressant drugs, went up 400% in the span of just twenty years. This may
be because medications are seen as an answer to people s prayers. People think that they re fast
and they ll cure anything and everything, making people feel normal again. Therapy could be quite
expensive when compared to medication, making individuals choose drugs over therapy. Another
reason for more people wanting to use medication could be that there are many commercials on TV
and on the radio advocating for medicinal drug usage, but

  • 2. Assessing Customer Experiences with Customer Service at My... Introduction A recent visit to the service department of the local auto dealership I purchased a car from two years ago forms the foundation of this analysis. As auto dealerships rely on service departments for the majority of their revenue I thought the experience would be a mix of pure efficiency and relationship building. Previous experiences with this dealership have shown them to be not as trustworthy as I had hoped they would be as well. One of the most critical aspects of transitioning customers from being treated as members of a transaction to actually being fans is trust (Gronroos, 1994). Trust is such a critical catalyst to make a customer experience successful that technologies need to better measure and evaluate this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He nodded and didn t say another word. I asked him for the cost to look at it and he said there would be no charge. I got the sense that even though the car was under warranty the dealership wanted to still make money on this repair. That troubled me. I gave the technician the keys and he took the car into the repair bays, as I went inside to talk to the service manager and ask them what the policy was on warranty repairs. He told me they were all covered and would take care of it. I asked him if technicians were on commission for how many repairs they sold and he just laughed and walked away. To this point in the interaction it was clear the dealership looked at me as more of just another transaction to be completed during their day. There was no specific focus on how to take the transaction and transform it into more of a conversation or relationship (Gronroos, 1994). The entire culture of the dealership seemed to resonate with a transaction mindset, as sales people in the coffee room asked if I wanted to see the new models in the showroom on sale this weekend (Harris Ogbonna, 1999). One of the sales people had sold me the car that was in for repairs and he started the conversation with the requisite so how is your 2009 Camry running? and then directly into the sales pitch. • 5. Pros and Cons of Installing Closed-Circuit Television... Installation of surveillance camera systems as a way to deter crimes or criminal acts has gained traction in recent years. In some countries, surveillance camera systems also known as closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras have also installed in educational institutions as a security measure to address fears for the safety of the students (Hope, 2004; Corpuz, 2011). The trend, however, did not stop. From halls and corridors, some education institutions have started to install cameras inside the classrooms as a means not just to monitor the teachers, but also to address classroom misbehavior (Shepherd, 2009). This paper seeks to cover the possible positive and negative effects of installing CCTV systems inside the classrooms.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Grant (2004) said educators want video cameras in classrooms to address the issue of violence in schools. Often teachers who are attacked have no way of proving their claims because pupils who witness the incidents fail to back up their stories. Video camera footage could be used to substantiate teachers versions of events as well as to deter pupils from launching the attacks (Grant, 2004). In the Philippines, the installation of cameras inside the classrooms is seen in a similar light. As cited in Grafil (2011), University of Santo Tomas security chief Joseph Badinas said the cameras can be used to track people who are doing something suspicious. The reason behind the installation of CCTV systems in the classrooms can be attributed to the triadic reciprocality principle of the social cognitive theory (Bandura, 1986). Under this principle, human life is consisted of a perpetual series of interactions among the environment, their individual behavior, and personal cognitive variables like thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions. These three constructs interact and influences each other reciprocally. Applying the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In some cultural groups, religion dictates the care that is given and by whom (Pacquiao, 2016). The purpose of this paper is to discuss an ethical dilemma that I have encountered in my nursing practice and how the dilemma was perceived. Culturally congruent care will also be defined. Describe an Ethical Dilemma Working in obstetrics and gynecology, the patient population is all female. We see many Muslim patients from Arab countries. In any obstetric or gynecology scenario Muslim women must have a female provider (Mclean et al., 2012). We had a patient scheduled with one of the male physicians for the first obstetric appointment, where a physical exam would be completed. When the patient arrived, her spouse informed the staff that she cannot be seen by a male provider. The male physician was not familiar with this preference. He was frustrated because when this patient presents to the hospital for delivery, there may not be a female on call to care for her. Fortunately, there was another physician in clinic that day that could see her so the patient would not have the inconvenience of being rescheduled.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 8. The Conformity Of Individuality In Henry David Twain s... A nation is only as good as the people who comprise it. In regards to the United States, tragedy permeates the nation when its citizens decide to conform to the standards imposed by the majority. As a multitude of Americans alter themselves to fit in and be accepted, their individuality floats away into the abyss. Nevertheless, the process of conforming may not always be such a bad thing. Conforming gives Americans the ability to connect to species that holds immense value. A species greater than anything they could have ever became while isolated. Now, although humans unconsciously conform to the standards of others, this process of conforming is detrimental to all Americans as it diminishes a person s self identityalong with their true life s purpose. Every standard and regulation an American abides by is influenced by their fellow citizens. The basic human nature of a person propels them to conform to the lifestyle of others. This concept is present within Henry David Thoreaus Civil Disobedience in which he explains that even the most successfully men can be imposed on [...] for their own advantage. Thoreau implies that when a person is exposed to others of high authority or legitimacy, they develop the desire to act like and feel acceptance from said persons. This feat is particularly difficult in China where cultural and familial ties are deep seated. In Eating Vinegar, Rita Hooks describes the great lengths one must be willing to go to become accepted in a new culture. She uses foot binding among other Chinese practices and customs to explain how ridiculous it is to force others to give up their culture and adopt the prevalent one rather than blend them. One of the most obvious things which distinguished Sadie from her new peers was her language. Hooks consistently points out the language barrier by always mentioning when people didn t understand her or spoke in different languages. Chinua Achebe, the author, bases the plot around the experiences his people group has with imperialism and uses events throughout the story to prove his opinion on this controversial occurrence in history. The tale centers around Okonkwo, an Ibo man determined to stay traditional, which becomes problematic when Europeans begin to take over African tribes and reorganize their governments. Outside the private hut lies the ilo, the village green, where the Ibo hold these courts and the crowd gathers around the opposing parties and the stools specified for the elders to watch. The organization and work behind such an procedure supports the Ibo s civility in that citizens are using their time to settle issues that others have and work together to solve problems that may not even involve them. When a culture cooperates to achieve peace, it proves that their relationships with each other are healthy and without any bonds between citizens to hold a culture together, there will undoubtedly be separation which leads to falling apart. The fact that the Ibo do this supports their civility and that they do not need imperialism. Further evidence is provided when Evil Forest, the leader of the egwugwu, states We have heard both sides of the case... our duty is not to blame this man or to praise that, but to settle the dispute (93.) When a court hears both sides of a case, it proves that they value equality which is a key quality in a civilized society as it allows everyone in the clan to be treated the same and that prevents displeasure which could lead to a clan s destruction. Robert Nozick s Experience Machine In this essay, following a brief discussion on Nozick s Experience Machine , I argue that his assumption that nobody would plug into the experience machine is a false one due to his failure to fully explore what creates a pleasurable experience. I will then further discuss this idea of pleasure, suggesting that it is possible that the experience machinecould potentially offer an experience that people would be more inclined to participate in and that more fully imitates reality. However, I will counter this with the Nozick s affirmation that people desire to connect with reality and mimicry of reality does not allow a part in the course of our universe. She uses appropriate pacing, knows the content, and engages students with appropriate questions and responses to student inquiry. Shute conducts an extensive literature review of the research on formative feedback because despite extensive investigation, the author proposes, is still misunderstood due to conflicting findings and inconsistent pattern results. The focus of this review is that feedback must be delivered correctly to be effective. Therefore, Shute offers a twofold proposal: to understand the features, functions, and interactions of feedback in relation to learning and to use the findings to create guidelines for generating effective formative feedback. The focus of this study is primarily on performing tasks and the identified issues are several. Correct delivery of feedback is defined and guidelines are proposed since most research on this subject concludes that feedback can enhance learning considerably if delivered correctly. The interaction of task and student characteristics is investigated to address the major gaps in understanding that still exist, inclusively, instructional context in the efficiency of feedback. The author defines formative feedback (FF) as information intended to change a student s thinking or behavior to improve learning. It ought to be specific, helpful, timely, and not judgmental. • 35. Reaction Rate Of Reaction Background: A clock reaction generally involves a mixture of solutions that, after a certain amount of time, displays a sudden colour change. This process demonstrates chemical kinetics in action, which is the study of chemical processes and rates of reaction where the reaction rate is the speed at which the chemical reactionproceeds. It is dependent on several factors that rely on one basic underlying principle called collision theory. In order for a reaction to occur, the reactant molecules must collide with each other with a certain minimum energy called the activation energy to break and form the appropriate bonds as well as have the correct orientation when colliding. If the favourable amount of collisions increase, then the rate of the reaction would increase. However, if the reactant particles do not collide frequently or collide with less energy than the activation energy, they bounce apart and the reaction would then proceed slowly or not at all. Concentration is one of the factors that affects reaction rate. Raising the concentration of the reactants, alters the number of particles per unit volume. Thus the more molecules present in a given volume, the greater the probability of them colliding. If they have energies equal to or greater than the activation energy, a higher concentration would therefore result in an increase in the reaction rate. The opposite is true if there is a lower concentration of reactant molecules. The relationship between rate and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The world has warmed by about 1.5В°F, and by 2100 it is projected to rise another 2 to 11.5В°F (Karl et al., 2009). BC has a short atmospheric residence time of days to weeks, while long‐lived GHGs can persist in the atmosphere for centuries. Therefore, reductions in GHG emissions will take longer to influence atmospheric concentrations and will have less impact on climate on a short timescale, whereas reductions in current BC emissions are immediate (Bice et al., 2009). Apart from that, some scientists (Shindell Faluvegi 2009, Ramanathan Feng 2009, Quinn et al. 2008, Jacobson 2010) attribute up to 50% of arctic ice melting to BC emissions, therefore its emissions reductions can substantially decrease the rate at which arctic ice is melting. Thus, initiatives focused on lowering BC will help offset the impact of decades of GHG emissions and give efforts to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions time to get off the ground. It s worth mentioning that BC also has adverse effect on human health, such as premature mortality, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, and development of chronic respiratory disease, so targeting BC emissions will be beneficial from the public health standpoint (EPA 2011). Bringing black carbon into climate strategy offers a complementary route to act on climate change, but the scientific understanding of black carbon climate effects isn t fully complete to support this proposition. Studies show that about 46% of the United States population suffers from a mental disorder some time in their life. There are many forms of treatment available, as the effects of these disorders cause distress and suffering not only to the individual, but for those around them too. The two main forms of treatment are biomedical therapy and verbal therapy. Biomedical therapies are medicinal drugs administered to a patient by a psychiatrist. Verbal therapies are talk sessions that a patient has with a psychologist. The prescription of drugs is the most common type of treatment in resolving psychological disorders.
