Many properties of our prototype contributed to its portability. The electrical
hardware housing structure for our prototype measured in at 7.375 x 6.375 x 5.000 ,
which allowed for a small yet fully functional device. These relatively small
dimensions allowed us to easily transport our prototype without concern of having to
make accommodations for its size. Our prototype was composed of simple PVC
plastic sheets. We cut these sheets to the desired dimensions and attached them using
bent aluminum sheet metal. We used 6 32 threaded nuts and bolts to fasten the metal
angle brackets to the PVC sheets. This combination of materials and fasteners used to
create the housing structure for our electrical components made for a strong, yet
lightweight prototype. This strength allowed for our structure to be free standing and
added a component of durability without adding to the size or weight significantly.
Also, this housing structure contained all of our wires and components meaning that
there were no extraneous pieces protruding from the structure. This uniform structure
kept components from getting snagged by outside materials during transport. By
producing the prototype from these materials at the given dimensions, we were able
to create a prototype structure that displayed durability, strength, and functionality
while remaining quite portable.

I woke up with the strangest feeling about my surrounding. I mean I was in my
room and everything in my room was normal. It was the feeling that came from
outside my bedroom. The feeling was as though everything I knew was gone; I got
out of my bed and took a shower in my bedroom bathroom. I decided to get dressed
in combat clothes; long black T shirt, green army camo pants, and combat boots. I
took my pocket knife and put in my pocket; I figured if something was off I would
have to run or fight it. I left my room and walked downstairs to the dining room to

I think Gladwell s purpose for writing The Trouble with Geniuses, is to open our
minds to a topic that a lot of us have a major misconception about. Gladwell
presents his ideas with great examples throughout chapters 3 and 4 of the outliers.
His topic is about success and how it is obtained. He talks about a scientist by the
name of Turmin who did an experiment and selected a group of geniuses and watched
their progress and downfalls throughout their lives.
Turmin did not get the results he expected he thought they would be exceptionally
successful in winning the Nobel prize or coming up with major inventions. But that
was not the case, yes some of them did well but then again some of them did not. So
Gladwell brings this experiment to show us that our idea about the connection
between geniuses and success is incorrect, that they are not automatically going to be
successful because there are other factors that either help or prevent geniuses from
being successful.
In my opinion, Gladwell s target audience is all genders from the age group of teens
up till young adults. This book and these chapters specifically are great for those who
just about embrace the world. The book can give them guidance and encouragement
about being successful and how you have to work at things, that being a genius is not
enough and there are some things that are not genetic and you have to acquire them.

Throughout the reading of the curriculum documents the thing that stood out the
most was not the units and lessons themselves, but the procedures that my
classmates shared of how they run their classrooms. Many of the procedures I had
heard of before, but had never tried because I didn t know how they would work in
an art classroom. Seeing how other teachers are able to use warm up activities, the
release of teacher control in the use of station, and seeing assessment through the
scope of another teacher has inspired me to change how I do these things. One
thing that stood out was how Kara Litchfield (2015) starts her lessons with a Do
Now! Warm Up activities. These activities help students get into an art mindset
after being in other classes. Using these warm up activities gives students positive
stimulation by the teacher so as to express their own ideas in a short amount of
time (Steers, 2007, p. 144). Through these activities students will also will be
reminded what they have been working on in previous art classes, saving time on
reintroducing information by having the students do a quick activity before class
starts to get busy. These warm up also get the students in the room and engaged
quickly so they have little time to be off task not thinking about art. Using these

My Original Teaching Philosophy Statement
I honestly would not make any changes to my original teaching philosophy statement
because I believe that after reading through the entire phycology book, the things I
read only supported the things I stated in my philosophy statement. When writing my
philosophy statement I had not taken any previous educationclasses to aid my original

seen first hand what things work with children and what does not. This does not by

how individuals ethnic identity could influence the course of an individual s life and

model of ethnic identity development used research from minority adolescents,
therefore the applicability of this model should be drawn into question when applying
it to emerging adulthood

Often times it can be challenging when a group of random people is assembled
together and expected to work as a team. As anticipated, during the first weeks of
college, I have encountered this particular situation many times. Joining the cross
country team and classroom group projects are prime examples of this initial
awkward predicament. Yet, accomplishing the ropes coursewith my MOI group
definitely tops the list. Although my MOI group had a lot of things in common, we
still had many differences. As a group of acquaintances, we were asked to complete
