Personality disorders are enduring patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that deviate from cultural norms and lead to distress or impairment. They are classified into three clusters - A, B and C. Cluster A includes paranoid, schizoid and schizotypal disorders. Cluster B includes antisocial, borderline, histrionic and narcissistic disorders. Cluster C includes avoidant, dependent and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Personality disorders are believed to have biological, genetic and environmental causes and are difficult to treat.
