This chapter discusses personality and values. It defines personality and describes how it is measured. The two dominant frameworks for describing personality are the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Big Five model. Values are defined as basic convictions about how to live properly. Terminal values are desirable end goals while instrumental values are preferable modes of behavior. There are differences in values across generations currently in the workforce. Personality and values must also fit with the job requirements and organizational culture to predict work behavior and satisfaction.
