One crucial reform to taxation that is being proposed is the Land Value Tax
(LVT) which will have
compounding benefits to the country it is implemented in. A LVT is a tax levied on the
unimproved value of land as opposed to property taxes which take into account the value of the
property on the land itself. The idea of LVT originated all the way back to the 18th century and
it has seen successful modern application in countries like Australia, Hong Kong and Estonia and
even the U.S. state Pennsylvania. Land Value Tax must be implemented in the United States
because the LVT encourages economic decision making, it is a progressive tax that benefits the
poor in society while combating harmful speculation and it is more efficient than its

holds a DEIS Band 1 status, incorporating 4 classes for ASD pupils. The urban school employs 35
teachers and 17 SNAs. This journal entry willl focus on observations of 20 students at a fourth
class level, that took place across a period of one week. Despite admitting to the difficulty of
defining the term active learning concisely, in his article, Prince (2004, pp.223), broadly defines
active learning as any instuctional method that engages students in the learning process .
Although Prince s article focuses on research of active learning within the engineering world, his
points and reflections on the efficacy of active learning methadologies on teaching such as
collaborative, cooperative and problem based learning seemingly stand true for primary schools,
and many of the benefits and challenges involved were observed throughout the week.. In
keeping with the constructivist layout of the classroom, the teacher s teaching style meant the
children were always involved in the lessons, fully aware of what, how and why they were
learning. This allowed them to become far more active and agentic in their learning. They
managed the classroom together, taking time regularly to tidy up and ensure their desks and
chairs were where they should be. Many class discussions took place over the course of the week,
a key to constructivist teaching and one the observer found most interesting and useful. Talk and

by Jan Thompson. The main argument in this essay is the depiction of women as objects in the

One such scene was the infamous balcony scene. Zeferelli stuck to the classical interpretation,
while Luhrmann did not. In Zeferelli s version Juliet was on the balcony outside her bedroom

the balcony, and they share a couple of small kisses before he departs. However, in Luhrmanns
version of the play, events occurred slightly differently. Juliet is walking by the pool, when Romeo

Mitty s second daydream occurs after he drives past a hospital on his way to the parking lot, he
thinks he is a famous surgeon, heroic character, who saves the day. Mitty is awakened from his
daydream only to be told by the parking attendant that he is entering the parking lot the wrong
way. Third daydream, Mitty daydreams that he is a witness in a courtroom trial, walking down the
street trying to remember the other item his wife instructed him to buy. The fourth and final

In recent years, scientists and the general public have become increasingly aware of climate change.
Scientists have begun and continue to study historical and geologic records in order to determine
natural patterns versus human induced changes in climate. By studying historical data and recent
