survivors must learn to live and work together. The work of Thomas Hobbes and
Georg Hegel both help to explain the effects of social power and why it is held by

On a daily basis we often see horrible, evil events unfolding on our evening news
channels. Often we ask ourselves, how can a person be so heartless and cruel? We
do not understand why people could do these things. From beheadings, neglecting
children, killing innocent people, raping young girls, terrorizing innocent people,
how can people commit these horrible things? What do they use as justification?
Why is so hard for us to understand? Can they be forgiving? Is it a psychological
issue or is it an ethical issue? Can it be analyze using a theological perspective? Does

relationship between evil and other moral concepts such as badness and wrongdoing?

categories: natural evil and moral evil. Natural evils are defined as bad state of

I Remember
It took me years to figure out what I wanted to be when I grow up. Honestly, I still
don t know and don t ever plan to. Mostly because I cannot imagine becoming a
true adult. I d have to do adult things like returning a sweater I didn t like or
