PERSONAL BRANDING
WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING
BRAGGING OR BRANDING
I’m just going to say this plainly!
• Sometimes you are the right person for the job.
• Not someone with more experience, not someone who’s been doing the thing for 25 years, not someone who
has a higher rank.
• Sometimes you are exactly who the job needs.
• Sometimes you can do it better than anyone else.
Do you have the right to not put yourself out there?
• People who are looking for someone to do the job will look around and, from the candidates that they are able to find, will
choose the best option.
• Please give the someone-seekers the opportunity to find you, I understand not wanting to be the equivalent of the loud guy
yelling annoyingly about mattresses on TV, but you really do the world a disservice by not offering to share your expertise.
MEYERS BRIGGS
WHO ARE YOU?
E or I
The first criterion, Extraversion – Introversion,
signifies the source and direction of a person’s
energy expression. An extravert’s source and
direction of energy expression is mainly in the
external world, while an introvert has a source of
energy mainly in their own internal world.
S or N
The second criterion, Sensing – Intuition,
represents the method by which someone
perceives information. Sensing means that a person
mainly believes information he or she receives
directly from the external world. Intuition means
that a person believes mainly information he or she
receives from the internal or imaginative world.
MEYERS BRIGGS
WHO ARE YOU?
T or F
The third criterion, Thinking – Feeling, represents
how a person processes information. Thinking
means that a person makes a decision mainly
through logic. Feeling means that, as a rule, he or
she makes a decision based on emotion, i.e. based
on what they feel they should do.
J or P
The fourth criterion, Judging – Perceiving, reflects
how a person implements the information he or
she has processed. Judging means that a person
organizes all of his life events and, as a rule, sticks
to his plans. Perceiving means that he or she is
inclined to improvise and explore alternative
options.
WHAT I HOPE I AM PROJECTING
1. I expect people to always feel I am being genuine and honest
2. I expect my intelligence to shine through in any conversation.
3. I expect people to see my logic while understanding that I am empathetic to their plight
4. I expect people to see that my loyalty is not just words it is who I truly am
5. I expect people to know that I have the utmost respect for them and myself
WHAT PEOPLE SEE
Ask your Family ,
Friends and Co-workers
what they think of
when they think of you.
What words come to
mind.
TELL ME WHAT YOU PLAN TO DO WITH THIS LIFE
Personal:
• I want to live each day with courage, compassion,
and curiosity. I want to become a better version
of myself each day, and to inspire others in my
path to do the same. I will no longer allow the
world around me to control my perception of
myself.
Business:
• To always be the best version of myself that I can
be, I will never stop searching for knowledge. I
will view the world around me with an open
mind so that I can receive criticism as well as
praise. I will embrace change with courage and
optimism.
Create your own mission
statement and live by it!
Company’s put their mission statements out to
the public why shouldn’t you be doing the same?
Do you want the world to know what you stand
for?
Do you want the world to know what you will not
stand for?
WHO'S ON YOUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS?
The people you allow to influence you will ultimately be the ones that help set your pace in life. If you
choose wisely, the next time you face a major decision, you can look confidently to your board for advice.
CREATE A
DIVERSE BOARD.
So who do you need
1. Someone in your field
2. Someone who is in or has been in your circumstance
3. Someone who is one of your greatest cheerleaders
4. Someone who has and is ready to critique you
5. Someone who is a leader in the area in which you aspire to grow
or succeed Someone of another generation
6. Someone who can introduce you to others
Things to Remember:
Establish a diverse group of people.
Have an odd number of board members.
Invest in your board.
Always be looking for new members.
NOW GO SHOW THE WORLD
WHO YOU ARE
Make every day count!
Turn your dreams into reality by living your
true authentic life!

  • 12. NOW GO SHOW THE WORLD WHO YOU ARE Make every day count! Turn your dreams into reality by living your true authentic life!

Editor's Notes

  1. Before we start where do you stand on Branding yourself?
  2. Don’t get me wrong sometimes your not the right person too.. Because not everyone can be the right person all the time. But lets look at it a different way. You decided to have a party and pick the perfect venue. Then you go through the daunting task of creating a guest list. Lastly you craft an astounding menu and decide on decorations. The day comes for your amazing party. All the food is perfect and the decorations fit beautifully in your venue…. Everything is perfect! But you are all alone.. Why? You didn’t send out invitations. How are people going to know what you can do if you don’t tell them.
  3. Lets go through some steps to find out who you are and who you want the world to know…..
  4. Really think about how you want the world to see you. These statements have to be authentic, to you. If you are not being honest with what you want then no one will believe them.. You have to live and breath these.
  5. I asked my children, husband, mother and a few coworkers to give me five words that came to mind when they thought of me. I wanted to know if their answers matched what I wanted to project to the world.. You can see they are pretty close to my statements on the last slide. How will you know what people think of you if you don’t ask? How will you adjust your actions to better the worlds view of you? Are you living your life with the integrity and authenticity that you want?
  6. So a mission statement is kind of like taking the last 2 slides and mashing them together. You have gathered all the materials now create! If you have a mission statement already and you want to share I would love to hear it.
  7. This one will take time as well.
