This paper analyzes the performance of texture feature extraction techniques like curvelet transform, contourlet transform, and local ternary pattern (LTP) for magnetic resonance image (MRI) brain tumor retrieval using deep neural network (DNN) classification. Texture features are extracted from 1000 brain tumor MRI images using the three techniques. The features are classified using DNN and the techniques are evaluated based on performance metrics like sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, error rate, and F-measure. Experimental results show that contourlet transform provides better retrieval performance than curvelet transform and LTP according to these evaluation metrics.
Efficient Brain Tumor Detection Using Wavelet TransformIJERA Editor
Brain tumor detection is a challenging task and its very important to analyze the structure of the tumor correctly so a automatic method is used now a days for the detection of the tumor. This method saves time as well as it reduces the error which occurs in the method of manual detection. In this paper the tumor is detected using wavelet transform. MRI is an important tool used in many fields of medicine and is capable of generating a detailed image of any part of the human body. In the domain of medical imaging, accurate segmentation of brain MR images is of interest for many brain disorders. However, due to several factors such noise, imaging artefacts, intrinsic tissue variation and partial volume effects, tissue segmentation remains a challenging task. So, in this paper, a full automatic method for segmentation of brain MR images is presented. The method consists of four steps segmentation procedure. First, noise removing by median filtering is done; second segmentation of brain/non-brain tissue is performed by using a Threshold Morphologic Brain Extraction method (TMBE). Then initial centroids estimation by gray level histogram analysis based is executed. Finally, Fuzzy C-means Algorithm is used for MRI tissue segmentation. The efficiency of the proposed method is demonstrated by extensive segmentation experiments using simulated and real MR images.
Ensemble Classifications of Wavelets based GLCM Texture Feature from MR Human...rahulmonikasharma
This paper presents an automatic image analysis of multi-model views of MR brain using ensemble classifications of wavelets based texture feature. Primarily, an input MR image has pre-processed for an enhancement process. Then, the pre-processed image is decomposed into different frequency sub-band image using 2D stationary and discrete wavelet transform. The GLCM texture feature information is extracted from the above low-frequency sub band image of 2D discrete and stationary wavelet transform. The extracted texture features are given as an input to ensemble classifiers of Gentle Boost and Bagged Tree classifiers to recognize the appropriate image samples. Image abnormality has extracted from the recognized abnormal image samples of classifiers using multi-level Otsu thresholding. Finally, the performance of two ensemble classifiers performance has analyzed using sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and MCC measures of two different wavelet based GLCM texture features. The resultant proposed feature extraction technique achieves the maximum level of accuracy is 90.70% with the fraction of 0.78 MCC value.

Analysis of Efficient Wavelet Based Volumetric Image CompressionCSCJournals
Recently, the wavelet transform has emerged as a cutting edge technology, within the field of image compression research. Telemedicine, among other things, involves storage and transmission of medical images, popularly known as teleradiology. Due to constraints on bandwidth and storage capacity, a medical image may be needed to be compressed before transmission/storage. This paper is focused on selecting the most appropriate wavelet transform for a given type of medical image compression. In this paper we have analysed the behaviour of different type of wavelet transforms with different type of medical images and identified the most appropriate wavelet transform that can perform optimum compression for a given type of medical image. To analyze the performance of the wavelet transform with the medical images at constant PSNR, we calculated SSIM and their respective percentage compression.

Distribution of maximal clique size underijfcstjournal
In this paper, we analyze the evolution of a small-world network and its subsequent transformation to a
random network using the idea of link rewiring under the well-known Watts-Strogatz model for complex
networks. Every link u-v in the regular network is considered for rewiring with a certain probability and if
chosen for rewiring, the link u-v is removed from the network and the node u is connected to a randomly
chosen node w (other than nodes u and v). Our objective in this paper is to analyze the distribution of the
maximal clique size per node by varying the probability of link rewiring and the degree per node (number
of links incident on a node) in the initial regular network. For a given probability of rewiring and initial
number of links per node, we observe the distribution of the maximal clique per node to follow a Poisson
distribution. We also observe the maximal clique size per node in the small-world network to be very close
to that of the average value and close to that of the maximal clique size in a regular network. There is no
appreciable decrease in the maximal clique size per node when the network transforms from a regular
network to a small-world network. On the other hand, when the network transforms from a small-world
network to a random network, the average maximal clique size value decreases significantly.

show that the classification accuracy of SVM is 96% for 10 fold cross validation method. The system
has been tested with a number of real Computed Tomography brain images and has achieved satisfactory
results.
A Wavelet Based Automatic Segmentation of Brain Tumor in CT Images Using Opti...CSCJournals
This paper presents an automated segmentation of brain tumors in computed tomography images (CT) using combination of Wavelet Statistical Texture features (WST) obtained from 2-level Discrete Wavelet Transformed (DWT) low and high frequency sub bands and Wavelet Co-occurrence Texture features (WCT) obtained from two level Discrete Wavelet Transformed (DWT) high frequency sub bands. In the proposed method, the wavelet based optimal texture features that distinguish between the brain tissue, benign tumor and malignant tumor tissue is found. Comparative studies of texture analysis is performed for the proposed combined wavelet based texture analysis method and Spatial Gray Level Dependence Method (SGLDM). Our proposed system consists of four phases i) Discrete Wavelet Decomposition (ii) Feature extraction (iii) Feature selection (iv) Classification and evaluation. The combined Wavelet Statistical Texture feature set (WST) and Wavelet Co-occurrence Texture feature (WCT) sets are derived from normal and tumor regions. Feature selection is performed by Genetic Algorithm (GA). These optimal features are used to segment the tumor. An Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN) classifier is employed to evaluate the performance of these features and by comparing the classification results of the PNN classifier with the Feed Forward Neural Network classifier(FFNN).The results of the Probabilistic Neural Network, FFNN classifiers for the texture analysis methods are evaluated using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated on a series of brain tumor images. The results illustrate that the proposed method outperforms the existing methods.

Image registration has great significance in medicine,
with a lot of techniques anticipated in it. This research work
implies an approach for medical image registration that
registers images of the mono modalities for CT or MRI images
using Modified Adaptive Polar Transform (MAPT). The
performance of the Adaptive Polar Transform (APT) with the
proposed technique is examined. The results prove that MAPT
performs better than APT technique. The proposed scheme not
only reduces the source of errors and also reduces the elapsed
time for registration of brain images. An analysis is presented
for the medical image processing on mutual- information-based
registration.

The Main purpose of this paper is to design, implement and evaluate a strong automatic diagnostic system that increases the accuracy of tumor diagnosis in brain using MR images. This presented work classifies the brain tissues as normal or abnormal automatically, usingcomputer vision. This saves lot of radiologist time to carryout monotonous repeated job. The
acquired MR images are processed using image preprocessing techniques. The preprocessed images are then segmented, and the various features are extracted. The extracted features are
fed to the artificial neural network as input that trains the network using error back propagation algorithm for correct decision making.
SEGMENTATION AND CLASSIFICATION OF BRAIN TUMOR CT IMAGES USING SVM WITH WEIGH...csandit
In this article a method is proposed for segmentation and classification of benign and malignant
tumor slices in brain Computed Tomography (CT) images. In this study image noises are
removed using median and wiener filter and brain tumors are segmented using Support Vector
Machine (SVM). Then a two-level discrete wavelet decomposition of tumor image is performed
and the approximation at the second level is obtained to replace the original image to be used
for texture analysis. Here, 17 features are extracted that 6 of them are selected using Student’s
t-test. Dominant gray level run length and gray level co-occurrence texture features are used for
SVM training. Malignant and benign tumors are classified using SVM with kernel width and
Weighted kernel width (WSVM) and k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN) classifier. Classification
accuracy of classifiers are evaluated using 10 fold cross validation method. The segmentation
results are also compared with the experienced radiologist ground truth. The experimental
results show that the proposed WSVM classifier is able to achieve high classification accuracy
effectiveness as measured by sensitivity and specificity.

A SURVEY TO REAL-TIME MESSAGE-ROUTING NETWORK SYSTEM WITH KLA MODELLINGijfcstjournal
Messages routing over a network is one of the most fundamental concept in communication which requires
simultaneous transmission of messages from a source to a destination. In terms of Real-Time Routing, it
refers to the addition of a timing constraint in which messages should be received within a specified time
delay. This study involves Scheduling, Algorithm Design and Graph Theory which are essential parts of
the Computer Science (CS) discipline. Our goal is to investigate an innovative and efficient way to present
these concepts in the context of CS Education. In this paper, we will explore the fundamental modelling of
routing real-time messages on networks. We study whether it is possible to have an optimal on-line
algorithm for the Arbitrary Directed Graph network topology. In addition, we will examine the message
routing’s algorithmic complexity by breaking down the complex mathematical proofs into concrete, visual
examples. Next, we explore the Unidirectional Ring topology in finding the transmission’s
“makespan”.Lastly, we propose the same network modelling through the technique of Kinesthetic Learning
Activity (KLA). We will analyse the data collected and present the results in a case study to evaluate the
effectiveness of the KLA approach compared to the traditional teaching method.

AN ALGORITHM FOR SOLVING LINEAR OPTIMIZATION PROBLEMS SUBJECTED TO THE INTERS...ijfcstjournal
Frank t-norms are parametric family of continuous Archimedean t-norms whose members are also strict
functions. Very often, this family of t-norms is also called the family of fundamental t-norms because of the
role it plays in several applications. In this paper, optimization of a linear objective function with fuzzy
relational inequality constraints is investigated. The feasible region is formed as the intersection of two
inequality fuzzy systems defined by frank family of t-norms is considered as fuzzy composition. First, the
resolution of the feasible solutions set is studied where the two fuzzy inequality systems are defined with
max-Frank composition. Second, some related basic and theoretical properties are derived. Then, a
necessary and sufficient condition and three other necessary conditions are presented to conceptualize the
feasibility of the problem. Subsequently, it is shown that a lower bound is always attainable for the optimal
objective value. Also, it is proved that the optimal solution of the problem is always resulted from the
unique maximum solution and a minimal solution of the feasible region. Finally, an algorithm is presented
to solve the problem and an example is described to illustrate the algorithm. Additionally, a method is
proposed to generate random feasible max-Frank fuzzy relational inequalities. By this method, we can
easily generate a feasible test problem and employ our algorithm to it.
LBRP: A RESILIENT ENERGY HARVESTING NOISE AWARE ROUTING PROTOCOL FOR UNDER WA...ijfcstjournal
Underwater detector network is one amongst the foremost difficult and fascinating analysis arenas that
open the door of pleasing plenty of researchers during this field of study. In several under water based
sensor applications, nodes are square measured and through this the energy is affected. Thus, the mobility
of each sensor nodes are measured through the water atmosphere from the water flow for sensor based
protocol formations. Researchers have developed many routing protocols. However, those lost their charm
with the time. This can be the demand of the age to supply associate degree upon energy-efficient and
ascendable strong routing protocol for under water actuator networks. During this work, the authors tend
to propose a customary routing protocol named level primarily based routing protocol (LBRP), reaching to
offer strong, ascendable and energy economical routing. LBRP conjointly guarantees the most effective use
of total energy consumption and ensures packet transmission which redirects as an additional reliability in
compare to different routing protocols. In this work, the authors have used the level of forwarding node,
residual energy and distance from the forwarding node to the causing node as a proof in multicasting
technique comparisons. Throughout this work, the authors have got a recognition result concerning about
86.35% on the average in node multicasting performances. Simulation has been experienced each in a
wheezy and quiet atmosphere which represents the endorsement of higher performance for the planned
protocol.

AN OPTIMIZED HYBRID APPROACH FOR PATH FINDINGijfcstjournal
Path finding algorithm addresses problem of finding shortest path from source to destination avoiding
obstacles. There exist various search algorithms namely A*, Dijkstra's and ant colony optimization. Unlike
most path finding algorithms which require destination co-ordinates to compute path, the proposed
algorithm comprises of a new method which finds path using backtracking without requiring destination
co-ordinates. Moreover, in existing path finding algorithm, the number of iterations required to find path is
large. Hence, to overcome this, an algorithm is proposed which reduces number of iterations required to
traverse the path. The proposed algorithm is hybrid of backtracking and a new technique(modified 8-
neighbor approach). The proposed algorithm can become essential part in location based, network, gaming
applications. grid traversal, navigation, gaming applications, mobile robot and Artificial Intelligence.

PSTECEQL: A NOVEL EVENT QUERY LANGUAGE FOR VANET’S UNCERTAIN EVENT STREAMSijfcstjournal
In recent years, the complex event processing technology has been used to process the VANET’s temporal
and spatial event streams. However, we usually cannot get the accurate data because the device sensing
accuracy limitations of the system. We only can get the uncertain data from the complex and limited
environment of the VANET. Because the VANET’s event streams are consist of the uncertain data, so they
are also uncertain. How effective to express and process these uncertain event streams has become the core
issue for the VANET system. To solve this problem, we propose a novel complex event query language
PSTeCEQL (probabilistic spatio-temporal constraint event query language). Firstly, we give the definition
of the possible world model of VANET’s uncertain event streams. Secondly, we propose an event query
language PSTeCEQL and give the syntax and the operational semantics of the language. Finally, we
illustrate the validity of the PSTeCEQL by an example.
CLUSTBIGFIM-FREQUENT ITEMSET MINING OF BIG DATA USING PRE-PROCESSING BASED ON...ijfcstjournal
Now a day enormous amount of data is getting explored through Internet of Things (IoT) as technologies
are advancing and people uses these technologies in day to day activities, this data is termed as Big Data
having its characteristics and challenges. Frequent Itemset Mining algorithms are aimed to disclose
frequent itemsets from transactional database but as the dataset size increases, it cannot be handled by
traditional frequent itemset mining. MapReduce programming model solves the problem of large datasets
but it has large communication cost which reduces execution efficiency. This proposed new pre-processed
k-means technique applied on BigFIM algorithm. ClustBigFIM uses hybrid approach, clustering using kmeans algorithm to generate Clusters from huge datasets and Apriori and Eclat to mine frequent itemsets
from generated clusters using MapReduce programming model. Results shown that execution efficiency of
ClustBigFIM algorithm is increased by applying k-means clustering algorithm before BigFIM algorithm as
one of the pre-processing technique.
A MUTATION TESTING ANALYSIS AND REGRESSION TESTINGijfcstjournal
Software testing is a testing which conducted a test to provide information to client about the quality of the
product under test. Software testing can also provide an objective, independent view of the software to
allow the business to appreciate and understand the risks of software implementation. In this paper we
focused on two main software testing –mutation testing and mutation testing. Mutation testing is a
procedural testing method, i.e. we use the structure of the code to guide the test program, A mutation is a
little change in a program. Such changes are applied to model low level defects that obtain in the process
of coding systems. Ideally mutations should model low-level defect creation. Mutation testing is a process
of testing in which code is modified then mutated code is tested against test suites. The mutations used in
source code are planned to include in common programming errors. A good unit test typically detects the
program mutations and fails automatically. Mutation testing is used on many different platforms, including
Java, C++, C# and Ruby. Regression testing is a type of software testing that seeks to uncover
new software bugs, or regressions, in existing functional and non-functional areas of a system after
changes such as enhancements, patches or configuration changes, have been made to them. When defects
are found during testing, the defect got fixed and that part of the software started working as needed. But
there may be a case that the defects that fixed have introduced or uncovered a different defect in the
software. The way to detect these unexpected bugs and to fix them used regression testing. The main focus
of regression testing is to verify that changes in the software or program have not made any adverse side
effects and that the software still meets its need. Regression tests are done when there are any changes
made on software, because of modified functions.
GREEN WSN- OPTIMIZATION OF ENERGY USE THROUGH REDUCTION IN COMMUNICATION WORK...ijfcstjournal
Advances in micro fabrication and communication techniques have led to unimaginable proliferation of
WSN applications. Research is focussed on reduction of setup operational energy costs. Bulk of operational
energy costs are linked to communication activities of WSN. Any progress towards energy efficiency has a
potential of huge savings globally. Therefore, every energy efficient step is an endeavour to cut costs and
‘Go Green’. In this paper, we have proposed a framework to reduce communication workload through: Innetwork compression and multiple query synthesis at the base-station and modification of query syntax
through introduction of Static Variables. These approaches are general approaches which can be used in
any WSN irrespective of application.
A NEW MODEL FOR SOFTWARE COSTESTIMATION USING HARMONY SEARCHijfcstjournal
Accurate and realistic estimation is always considered to be a great challenge in software industry.
Software Cost Estimation (SCE) is the standard application used to manage software projects. Determining
the amount of estimation in the initial stages of the project depends on planning other activities of the
project. In fact, the estimation is confronted with a number of uncertainties and barriers’, yet assessing the
previous projects is essential to solve this problem. Several models have been developed for the analysis of
software projects. But the classical reference method is the COCOMO model, there are other methods
which are also applied such as Function Point (FP), Line of Code(LOC); meanwhile, the expert`s opinions
matter in this regard. In recent years, the growth and the combination of meta-heuristic algorithms with
high accuracy have brought about a great achievement in software engineering. Meta-heuristic algorithms
which can analyze data from multiple dimensions and identify the optimum solution between them are
analytical tools for the analysis of data. In this paper, we have used the Harmony Search (HS)algorithm for
SCE. The proposed model which is a collection of 60 standard projects from Dataset NASA60 has been
assessed. The experimental results show that HS algorithm is a good way for determining the weight
similarity measures factors of software effort, and reducing the error of MRE.
AGENT ENABLED MINING OF DISTRIBUTED PROTEIN DATA BANKSijfcstjournal
Mining biological data is an emergent area at the intersection between bioinformatics and data mining
(DM). The intelligent agent based model is a popular approach in constructing Distributed Data Mining
(DDM) systems to address scalable mining over large scale distributed data. The nature of associations
between different amino acids in proteins has also been a subject of great anxiety. There is a strong need to
develop new models and exploit and analyze the available distributed biological data sources. In this study,
we have designed and implemented a multi-agent system (MAS) called Agent enriched Quantitative
Association Rules Mining for Amino Acids in distributed Protein Data Banks (AeQARM-AAPDB). Such
globally strong association rules enhance understanding of protein composition and are desirable for
synthesis of artificial proteins. A real protein data bank is used to validate the system.

DISTRIBUTION OF MAXIMAL CLIQUE SIZE UNDER THE WATTS-STROGATZ MODEL OF EVOLUTI...ijfcstjournal
On the other hand, when the network transforms from a small-world
network to a random network, the average maximal clique size value decreases significantly

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

ABSTRACT
Texture represents spatial or statistical repetition in pixel intensity and orientation. Brain tumor is an
abnormal cell or tissue forms within a brain. In this paper, a model based on texture feature is useful to
detect the MRI brain tumor images. There are two parts, namely; feature extraction process and
classification. First, the texture features are extracted using techniques like Curvelet transform, Contourlet
transform and Local ternary pattern (LTP). Second, the supervised learning algorithm like Deep neural
network (DNN) is used to classify the brain tumor images. The Experiment is performed on a collection of
1000 brain tumor images with different orientations. Experimental results reveal that contourlet transform
technique provides better than curvelet transform and Local ternary pattern.

1. INTRODUCTION
In the early years, advances in modern computer and telecommunication technologies have led to
huge archives of multimedia data in diverse application area such as medicine, remote sensing,
entertainment, education and on-line information services. Due to increasing the amount of
alphanumeric data which led to the development of database management systems (DBMS). In
DBMS, organizing the alphanumeric data into interrelated collections so that information
retrieval and storage could be convenient and effective. This technology is not well suited to the
management of multimedia information. The available multimedia information can be effective,
efficient methods for storage, browsing, indexing and retrieval must be developed.
Since 1970, image retrieval is a very active research area within two research communities-
database management and computer vision. When the size of the image database becomes very
huge then two problems are manual annotation ineffective. The first problem is the amount of
labor involved in image annonation. The other problem is capturing the rich content of images
using a few keywords, a difficulty is compounded by the subjectivity of human perception.
Content based image retrieval (CBIR) is to overcome these difficulties for large collection of
images. In CBIR, features are automatically extracted and indexed by summarizing their visual
contents like texture, color and shape [1]. The MRI uses radio waves for originally to brain
images like bleeding, aneurysms, tumors and damages. The MRI is an accurate procedure for
hundreds of images in slices per single patient. The major tissues in MRI brain images are ray

matter, white matter and cerebro-spinal fluid. The T1, T2 and PD are the images produced to
specific tissue characteristics of the image. The three types of image orientation in brain images
are coronal, sagittal and axial. The medical image is used in modern techniques like Digital
radiography (X-ray), ultrasound, microscopic imaging, computed tomography (CT), magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI), single photon emission computer tomography (SPECT) and positron
emission tomography (PET) [2].

3. FEATURE EXTRACTION
Feature extraction is a dimensionality reduction that starts with the initial set of measured data for
human interpretations. Feature extraction is used to reduce the huge set of data from the
resources.

3.1 Texture
Texture represents spatial or statistical repetition in pixel intensity and orientation. Texture
analysis is an important issue used in a variety of image and video applications including image
segmentation, image retrieval, object recognition, contour detection, scene classification and
video indexing. Texture feature are visual pattern consist of contrast, uniformity, coarseness, and
density. In CBIR, The statistical texture features are used in the edge histogram descriptor (EHD),
gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM), MPEG -7 texture descriptor and wavelet moments.
Multiresolution representations of the transforms are consistent with the human perception of
images. Multiscale transform-based methods include the Gabor transform, the wavelet transform,
the ridgelet transform and the contourlet transform. In medical image analysis, the main objective
of the texture is used to classify the brain images into gray and white matter of the magnetic
resonance (MR) image or to detect cysts of the kidney in X-ray and computed tomography (CT)
images [10].

The texture feature is extracted using feature extraction techniques like curvelet transform,
contourlet transform and local ternary pattern
3.4 Curvelet Transform
Curvelet Transform (CT) represents a curve like features the use of texture and spatial locality
information for motorcycle directional transforms. The digital image processing is important to
handle brain visual cortex of images as spatial locality, scale and orientation. CT is used in the 3-
D biological data analysis, seismic data analysis, fluid mechanics analysis, video processing and
partial differential equation analysis. CT is locally implemented ridgelets and is closely related to
ridgelets. CT can represent even curve like features sparsely, whereas ridgelet sparsity is on the
straight line like features. Curvelet-based feature extraction is defined as the extraction of
characteristic and discriminating curvelet coefficient features from the data [11], [12].

Curvelet Transform algorithm
1. To calculate the Fourier transform of f by means of a 2D FFT
f[n1,n2], -n/2 <=n1,n2 < n/2 (1)
2. For each scale/angle pair (j,l), interpolate f[n1,n2] to obtain sampled values f[n1, n2 –

3. Multiply the interpolated object f with the parabolic window Uj, effectively localizing
f near the parallelogram with orientation , and obtain

3.5 Contourlet Transform
Contourlet transform is a form of directional multiresolution image representation and made up of
a smooth region’s partition by smooth boundaries. Contourlet transform is implemented based on

two types are Laplace pyramid and directional filter bank. The contourlet transform is based on
basis functions with flexible aspect ratios and different directions in multiple scales. It has a
small redundancy unlike other transforms. The extension of the curvelet transform is used to
capture curves instead of points, but it provides for directionality. Contourlet has offered a high
degree of directionality and anisotropy and not only access the main features of wavelets like
multiscale and time frequency localization. The consulate is achieving critical sampling, but it
takes different and flexible number of directions at each scale [13].
Contourlet Transform algorithm
Step 1: The input image has four frequency components like LL (Low Low), LH (Low High), HL
(High Low) and HH (High High).
Step 2: At each stage, Laplacian pyramid produces low pass output (LL) and a band pass output
(LH, HL, HH).
Step3: The band pass output is passed into a directional filter bank, which produces the results as
contourlet coefficient. Then the low pass output is again passed through the laplacian pyramid to
produce more coefficients. The process is repeated until the fine details of the image are retrieved.
Step 4: Finally, the image is reconstructed by applying the inverse contourlet transform.

3.6 Local ternary pattern
Local ternary pattern (LTP) is a texture operator has higher dimensionality and more
discriminating than LBP. LBP has threshold pixels into 0 and 1 value, but LTP uses a threshold
pixel in 0, 1 and -1 values. Considering p is a neighboring pixel, c as the center pixel and k as
the threshold constant [14], [15].

4. CLASSIFICATION
Classification is the process in which ideas and objects are recognized, differentiated, and
understood. The Deep neural network (DNN)) is the classification techniques used for MRI brain
tumor images.
4.1 Deep Neural network
Deep neural network (DNN) is a multilayer neural network model that has more than one layer of
hidden units between its inputs and its outputs. The two important processes are used in the
classification are training and testing phase. In the training phase, the features of training data are
trained using deep learning classifier. Commonly used neural network uses back propagation
algorithm. But it is not adequate for training neural networks with many hidden layers on large
amounts of data. Deep Neural Networks that contain many layers of nonlinear hidden units and a
very large output layer. Deep neural networks have deep architectures which have the capacity to
learn more complex models than shallow ones [16] - [18].

6. EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS
To evaluate the overall performance, the brain tumor image are the type of both sagittal and axial.
The MRI brain tumor image database contains 1000 images. Brain images contain 5 classes and
each class has 200 images. The resolution of the image is 256 x 256. The performance of the
method can be evaluated by using sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, error rate and f-measure. For
evaluation, DNN classification accuracy is as follows: curvelet transform- 97.5%, contourlet
transform- 97.5% and local ternary pattern- 18.33%. The average time taken is as follows:
Curvelet transform- 0.155 sec, contourlet transform- 0.088 sec and local ternary pattern- 0.094
sec. The sensitivity, specificity, error rate and f-measure values are evaluated.
The Experiment result shows that the texture feature techniques contourlet transform is better
than curvelet transform and local ternary pattern. In terms of time values, Contourlet transform is
better than curvelet transform and local ternary pattern. So, contourlet transform achieves better
performance.

7. CONCLUSION
In this paper, the performance of texture feature extraction for MRI brain tumor image retrieval is
evaluated. This feature extraction technique is used for medical image diagnosis in the clinical
domain. The performance of the method has two different steps are feature extraction process and
classification. The Curvelet transform, contourlet transform and local ternary pattern techniques
are used for texture feature extraction. To classify the brain tumor image for supervised learning
algorithm namely DNN is used. It is inferred from the results that contourlet transform using
DNN classifier outperform other techniques like curvelet transform and local ternary pattern.
Contourlet transform achieves better performance. This method is efficient for classification of
the human brain tumor database and similar image. It increases the retrieval time and improves
the retrieval accuracy significantly.
