My Reflection On My Capstone Rotation
1.Some of the emotions I experienced at clinical were a sense of self confidence and excitement.
In previous semesters, I feel as if I am typically a little more nervous on the first clinical
experience. However, my emotions were very different starting my capstone rotation. I think
this is because I know I am nearing the end of nursing school and I have much more knowledge
than I did at this time two years ago. I have learned that nursing is a profession of life long
learning and each day is an opportunity to learn something new. Therefore, having those ideas in
mind I feel that I didn t make myself worry about what I didn t know, instead, I was excited and
focused on what I was going to learn. These feelings held true for both shifts... Show more content

Two nurses were continuously talking negative about a nurse s aide on the floor. They felt that she
didn t help them as much as she could have and that she picks and chooses who she helps. After
taking a recent workplace violence module in our leadership class this semester, I have a better
understanding on how this impacts patient centered care and that this situation is a very negative
workplace behavior. Initially, I felt that it was best to ignore the situation because as a student I
didn t want to get involved. However, after the gossip continued, attempts to resolve the issue
were to state that the floor was busy and as a PCT I often get behind as well, the nurses then
agreed that the unit was busy and moved on to a different conversation. Throughout the whole
ordeal I continued to have my patient s best interest at priority and didn t let the behavior of these
nurses impede on the care being provided. (2 points)
4.Safety concerns that I encountered during the experience were in regards to a patient admitted for
unrelieved chest pain. The patient was in his late seventies and had end stage renal disease.
According to Lewis and colleagues (2014), after age seventy five, renal clearance of medications
declines substantially, which places elderly individuals at risk for medication toxicity (p. 73).
However, since the patient also had end stage renal disease the risk for toxicity was even greater.
Because of the patient s

The article named Outdoor Adventures on the Job explains the main reasons why L.L. Bean
can be evaluated as the 56th best workplace by Fortune. Employees speak highly of L.L. Bean s
working environment now because it has added a great number of perks such as free on site
massages. The most popular program is that L.L. Bean s employees can have three to five days
every year to take some outdoor activities with colleagues for the purpose of developing new
relationships. For instance, in March, 69 employees took one day to ski and walked in the snow
for three miles with their managers. Another benefit is that if employees want to explore the
outdoors, L.L. Bean is willing to provide the company s products for its employees or sell these
products to workers at a discount.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bean s human resources, Marie McCarthy, said, The more employees experience L.L. Bean s
products in real world settings, the better they are at explaining them to consumers. I have the same
opinion as McCarthy. Encouraging employees to use the company s products is an efficient
business strategy. On one hand, most of L.L Bean s customers are outdoor enthusiasts, so salesmen
who have rich experience in exploring the outdoors can get more trust from customers. On the other
hand, salesmen can recommend the most suitable products to customers because they are more
familiar with the merits of different products. Furthermore, it is easier for designers to optimize the
company s products because they can find some shortcomings of these products during their
outdoor days of experiencing them

Homosexual Elements in The Picture of Dorian Gray
In spite of the novel s heterosexual text, many critics agree that it has various homosexual elements
in its characters, in the dialogues, and even in the portrait itself. One of the critics, Richard
Dellamora, mentions this feature of the text, and comments that By definition this context is
heterosexual. Wotton is married and pursues actresses. Basil himself is a graduate of Oxford, a
well established artist, and respectable to a fault (28). However, he also remarks the intensity of
male friendships, and referring to Basil, he continues Later, he repeatedly enjoins Dorian to
conformity. Both older men live in a network of male friendships that ramify through the novel ...

During this festivalare geared in colorful robes and different styles of masks that made either with

The Contamination Of The Spinach Field Essay
We all know that poor and dirty conditions lead to the accumulation of bacteria and other health
risking factors. It is a violation of policy for health codes. This can be seen in the Mountain View
Farms most likely due to the fact that they grew the spinach in unfavorable conditions. There is
a possibility that the spinach field came into contact with the STEC O157:H7 through outside
sources due to the fact that they were exposed in dangerous conditions in outside environments
instead of being grown in a facility that is enclosed. In order to save and cut costs of
manufacturing spinach, the farm most likely planted their spinach outside. While this practice
is common, it is also unsafe as pollutants from other manufacturing companies and farms can
wash down into the spinach field. In this scenario, according to the map of nearby industries,
there are a few sources that could have exposed the spinach field to STEC O157:H7. The Floyd s
Pork Farm is the most suspected source as the dangerous strain of E. Coli can be contracted from
the animals through their food source and passed through their fecal matter. The feces are then
washed into nearby water systems by the rain and might not be filtered and processed completely
before being used. In this case, the water that was infected is being used for the irrigation system
to water and grow the spinach and other crops. Now the spinach has the E. Coli strain and then
being harvested to be bagged and sold off to the consumers. This

Industrial Hemp Struggles with Marijuana Stigma
Industrial Hemp Struggles With Marijuana Stigma
As the issue of legalizing marijuana remains complicated and highly controversial, a lesser known
yet increasingly significant side effect continues to transpire in the background: the suppression of
its incredibly useful and diverse distant cousin, industrial hemp. Both marijuana and hemp have a
long history in the United States. Unfortunately, because both plants are from the cannabis species,
hemp was pigeonholed into a dangerous drug classification along with marijuana, representing the
beginning of the end for hemp as a major agricultural asset to the United States. Industrial hemp
contains no psychotropic qualities that create a high like marijuana. Considering that hemp s ...

Thus, a plant with no psychotropic properties and that could be used to fashion anything from
ropes, to paper, to bricks for constructing homes is placed in the same category as marijuana.
(Smith 233) In his research, Smith found that the source of the problem stems from the Marijuana
Tax Act of 1937 that was carried over into the comprehensive Drug Abuse Controlled and
Prevention Act of 1970. Banning industrial hemp was a mistake from the beginning. The
government refusing to address this situation is not acceptable and that is where the Oglala Sioux
tribe in Pine Ridge, South Dakota have drawn a line in the sand. The tribe said it is their right as a
sovereign state to cultivate their land. They were also purposely shedding light on the need to
legalize hemp.
Research from the University of Connecticut conclusively indicates that hemp is a viable source
for biodiesel fuel one thatc does not affect the food supply like corn and soy do. Led by
associate professor of chemical engineering Richard Parnas, the research team will be building a
refinery using a $1.8 million grant from the Department of Energy. Hemp is ideal for two reasons:
first, it is not a major food source so it should not contribute to food security problems; secondly, it

Examples Of Existentialism In American Beauty

Existentialism in American Beauty The 1999 film, American Beauty starring Kevin Spacey and
Annette Bening, follows the existential crisis of a middle aged suburban father and husband as he
becomes attracted to one of his daughter s best friends. After developing said attraction, Spacey s
character, Lester Burnham, becomes conscientious of his life and begins making a series of
decisions and taking actions that ultimately result in his death. The angst ridden film explores not
only the alienation of its protagonist from his society, but also showcases each member of the
Burnham family as agents of materialism and loneliness in their quest to achieve real happiness.

The bleakness of Sisyphus punishment is due to its inherent meaninglessness, for despite his
efforts, the task has no purpose. This parallels to Lester s life prior to his acquisition of
responsibility. Prior to attempting to enact change in his life, the protagonist continues his
monotonous daily routine at his boring desk job, listening to the same soundtrack nightly at
dinner, and overall subservience to those around him: Both my wife and daughter think I m this
gigantic loser and they re right, I have lost something. I m not exactly sure what it is but I know
I didn t always feel this...sedated. His rebirth to life only begins upon meeting Angela Hayes, his
daughter s seductive best friend, to which he develops a sexual attraction. After meeting Angela,
he begins to alter his life dramatically through quitting his job, buying a car he always dreamed
of having and exercising in order to perpetuate a level of success and masculinity to the teenager.
In the final scenes of the film, when Angela finally bares her innocence and insecurity to Lester,
he finally sees true reality for the first time in the form of real emotion. In the last seconds of his
life he is able to appreciate life and feel more alive than he has throughout the entirety of the film.
He is no longer lonely and is cognizant of his purpose in life: being a father, husband, and making
the choices he deems fit for his existence in order to perpetuate his view of happiness, and not that

The Mistreatment Of The Illegal Immigrants
The mistreatment of the illegal immigrants has become a serious issue among the United States.
There are tons of debates on the issue, which causes a lot of unrest among the citizens of the
country. With the political debates constanly going back and forth, I well reveal the many
insecurities and injustices that many of the immigrants have faced. Many have complained that
because of the illegal immigrants, the competition for jobs have been fierce making it impossible
to obtain a job. However, by analyzing the welfare of the immigrants, we find that many of them
are fighting for minimum wage jobs. The struggle to make two ends meet alone is enough to cause
a breaking point let alone the unfair treatment given to them by the biased masses. Not even the
children are spared from the senseless bickering, Leaving them doomed to suffer the unjust
penalties due to the lack of Immigrationreform. Immigrants have been constantly being demonized
by the usual patriotic propaganda the has spawned from the people. The lack of any positive
reform can t be seen in the future due to congress at a constant power struggle spiraling downward.
Analyzing the Welfare effect of illegal immigration, shows the dynamic overall framework and
shows why it s positive for two reasons. First, immigrants are paid less than their marginal product,
and second, after an increase in immigration, domestic households find it optimal to increase their
holdings of capital. It is also shown that dynamic

Understanding Vigilante Justice
The use of vigilante justice is illegal but, at times it can be understood. Vigilante justice is
considered legal when dealing with it as self defense.. The term vigilante justice means someone
has gone outside the law to carry out a punishment for a crime. In other words vigilante justice
means that a citizen has taken justice into their own hands. One of the defining elements of
vigilantism is a response that involves violence that exceeds the legitimate use of force in self
defense. These people who take justice into their own hands are called a vigilante.
Our legal system does not permit vigilante justice (Grisham 137). Self defense, though, is the
only type of vigilante justice that is legal because it is one of the rights written in the constitution.
It is considered legal because self defense is one of the rights given to American citizens in the
Constitution. Our legal system also cannot condone men who take the law into their own hands .
This means that the government cannot over look a case of vigilante justice because it will cause
problems in our society. The legal system also cannot over look it because the society cannot have
people just running around with guns shooting other people who did them wrong. The world
would be chaos if that was allowed to happen because everyone would be taking justice into their
own hands because they are unhappy with the outcome of the case.
Most of the time the act of vigilante justice is taken because the legal system isn t

Techniques of the Body
As human beings we are very active creatures. It is very rare we sit absolutely still with no
movement at all, in fact to do so would be considered strange in most social contexts. These
movements are not however sporadic, they are in fact highly controlled, practiced skills. Even
when remaining relatively still, for example, to rest or sleep, we have still been taught the
required skills to do so, whether it s how to sit on a chair or lay on a bed, these are very ordinary,
everyday techniques that we take for granted and perceive as something natural, but often they are
technique s we have been taught to do.
Marcel Mauss in his work Techniques of the Body (1934) is regarded as the first piece of work to

Bourdieu calls habitus a structured and structuring structure, consisting of a system of schemes of
perception and appreciation (Bourdieu 1984:289), put simply it is an explanation of the subjective
way in which different groups, be this grouping be by class, age, gender or culture, understand and
perceive the world around them. So it can be said that it is from this that differences in taste exist
throughout the globe thus creating cultural characteristics and variations.
So as many societies differ across the globe, so do their System of symbols, which are based
around their taste and cultural beliefs. This then forms different sets of rules of bodily conduct
which then become firmly ingrained in their structure through the notion of habitus. It was through
observation and with this notion of culture as a structured set of rules that Mauss came to believe
that techniques of the body are not just biologically inherent or haphazard, but are in fact highly
developed body actions that embody aspects of an individual s given culture. One of the first
examples Mauss gives is of his observation of various armies and the way in which they march. He
speaks of how the English army marches with a different step to the French. He noticed this
difference in asymmetry when the British Worchester Regiment, having achieved glory amongst
the French in the battle of Aisne, requested to march alongside the French Trumpets and drums as a

Child Immunization:
Diseases Becoming More Prevalent in Children Vaccines are crucial in a child s life.
Immunizations and vaccines help prevent future diseases such as pneumonia, polio, and HPV.
Polio is a disease that can cause paralysis (Poliomyelitis). This disease is most commonly found in
Nigeria, Pakistan, and Afghanistan (Childhood). One out of every five children in Pakistan don t
have their necessary vaccines and immunizations (Childhood). In rural areas 2/3 of their children
don t get their vaccinations (Childhood). Pakistan health issues are mainly due to the slow
economic growth. They can t pay for the health advancements because they don t have the funds.
After the U.S. killed Osama bin Laden who was found in Pakistan, the Talibanbanned the polio
vaccine which will affect thousands of children(Park). The growth of child immunization, the
structure of Pakistan, and the contrast between Pakistan and the U.S. all show what influences
fluctuations in child immunizations. Child immunizations have grown over the past few
centuries. In most countries they are 100% free of certain diseases due to new developments of
vaccines. Many disease don t have a cure but can be prevented at an early stage. At least 103
million cases of childhood diseases have been prevented by vaccines since 1924... (Vaccine

Muslim Minorities Security in OIC Member States
Muslim Minorities Security in OIC Member States
Division within the Muslim world did not begin until after the death of the Prophet Muhammad. It
arose in the form of political uncertainty about who would be the next leader of the Muslim
community after the death of the Prophet. One group of thinkers, who came to be known as Shiites
(Shia meaning faction in Arabic), believed that authority in the Muslim world should stay within
the family of the Prophet, and so pointed to Ali and his son Husayn, Muhammad s close relatives.
Another group, known as Sunnis, believed that the person most worthy to lead should become the
caliph, no matter his bloodline (Strayer 423). Over the centuries, this Sunni/Shiite divide only
widened. Several Shiite rebellions mainly failures invested them with an ideology that their dead
leaders were simply hiding, leading them to develop the belief in the Hidden, or Twelfth, Imam
who would one day return and set right the Shiites problems with the Sunnis (Strayer 423). Other
minor differences exist in the two groups ideology, with Shiites placing weight just on the teachings
of Muhammad and his descendants, whereas the Sunnis recognize works from other influential
early Muslim leaders. Several subdivisions exist within Shia Islam; their differences exist in how
many imams throughout history they recognize as legitimate. One major offshoot of Sunni Islam
Wahhabism originated in the teachings, military state building, and reformist tendencies

Comment on Dickens use of setting focusing on the opening graveyard scene and the scenes with
Miss Havisham set in the Satis house
As a skilled writer Dickens has chosen a perfect setting in which corresponds to the involvement
of his characters. The dark isolated graveyard associates with death, and provides a backdrop that
is very similar to the appearance of a criminal, in the society in Dickens time. Dickens describes
the marshes as being a dark, flat wilderness.
This creates the opportunity to become lost and isolated, it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The beacon and the gibbet are the only things that are verticle and standing, as they are very
important and have to stand out. This is because the beacons light guides in good people who
will be saved from the distant savage lair, criminals being the savage beasts. The gibbet is the place
where criminals will go, and they will not be saved.
This, in Dickens view, is what will happen between the two groups of people. If Pip does steel he
will go to the gibbet.
Dickens cleverly associates the graveyard with the dark, mist and the rushing winds. These
provide the right atmosphere that corresponds to the gloomy, course, grey appearance of
Magwitch, a criminal. Magwitch is described as being a fearful man, with a terrible voice and
shuddering body. This is Dickens view on what a criminal was like in the society in the Victorian
times.
Dickens puts across the idea of going across the marshes is a path you wouldn t want to take as it
hurts, it s unpleasant, it s wild and cold, it s not attactive and it s lonely. This also means that being
a criminal is a path you wouldn t want to take for the same reasons.
When Magwitch turns Pip upside down, it s like Pips life being turned around. From being a well
brought up boy to a criminal. Dickens wrote this to show the idea of the change in Pip s behaviour
and manner towards criminality. The appearance of Magwitch, cut

The Impact Of Melting Glaciers On The Environment
The argument s main idea is that melting glaciers may have a negative impact on the environment,
but they are allowing scientists to make new discoveries. The author, Alan Burdick, develops this
argument by explaining that glaciers are melting at a rapid rate, which causes disruptions in the
ecosystem. However, scientists are able to find artifacts that were once frozen in the glaciers.
These artifacts would have been unavailable to scientists if the glaciers had not started melting.
Many of the ancient items are in perfect condition because they were frozen in the ice. One example
of a recent finding is a wooden box that is believed to have stored food. The article shows how
these artifacts help scientists have a better understanding of the

At the time of the Old Kingdom, Egyptians would build pyramids as part of their civilization.
These pyramids were structures used by the ancient world for religious purposes, were tombs for

Hey Big Spender By Elena Passarello Summary
A monster is someone or something who invokes fear or causes change. Imagine someone
permanently changing a young man s life to the point his whole body and life is changed in one
fell swoop. Anyone who commits an act like this is a monster. In Hey Big Spender by Elena
Passarello, a boy named Farinelli is castrated before the young age of ten years old. Farinelli was
not castrated for using his private parts in an improper manner. Farinelli was castrated so he
could sing a note. Farinelli did not ask for this process to be done, neither was he asked if he
wanted it done to him, this decision was made by his music teachers. That decision is

a reflection of how people with power change other people s lives to fit their own agenda. While
many of the changes for Farinelli were positive, the fact of the matter is, the church elders, like
powerful people everywhere, are monsters for taking advantage of a powerless human being.
Farinelli was born in Italy back in 1705. He was a member of a church sponsored music school
from when he was young. The leaders of this school were having trouble with the progression of

The Human Immunodeficiency Virus ( Hiv )
The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is an immune system disorder that can be contracted
through sexual activity as well as other types of contact. (Healthy Living, pg. 79) If left untreated
this virus can turn into AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). AIDS is the final stage of
the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). (aids.gov) AIDS is an incurable progressive disease
that causes gradual destruction of CD4 T cells by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
(Diseases, pg. 431) A healthy adult has a CD4 T cell count of 1,000 or more but a person
suffering from HIV could have a count lower than 200. CD4 T cells are crucial to the immune
system; without them the immune system would not have the ability to fight off infections. One of
the disquieting facts about AIDS is that the infected person may be asymptomatic for years. If the
infected person does begin to experience signs and symptoms, their initial complaints are usually
fever, rigors, arthralgia (joint pain), myalgia (muscle pain), maculopapular rash, urticaria (hives),

Subject: A Framework for Low Performing Schools in Pinellas County Schools
Attached is my proposal for a framework for the low performing schools in the Southern Area of the
district. Pinellas County schools has several A+rating schools within the district. However, the
South Area has had an F rating for the last five years consecutively with little improvements. The
research proposal gives a framework for turnaround schools to increase the F rating to a better
rating. The benefits of the framework will include the following: To maintain retention for new and
contract teachers. Provide classroom teachers, principals, and support personnel additional training
with model from high performing districts with the State of Florida or High performing states.
Produce an active parental involved community by require all Pinellas County Schools be a
fundamental system. My proposal is to provoke solutions that will help reconstructed Pinellas
County Schools to be a more effective county with great schools.
I am propose a model for the low performing schools in the Southern Area. To design and develop a
new strategy to improve the failing schools in the four areas of concern noted above. The attached

Literary Analysis Of Dulce Et Decorum Est
In early history, Soldiers going off to fight in war seemed brave and fearless. It was always seen
as an honor to serve in your country s army. However, in Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred
Owen, through the depictions of an actual battle, it is shown that those feelings are not actually
present during war. The genre of the poem is war. In fact is very much propaganda against war.
After the events of World War 1, Owen did not see the necessity of war in witnessing all the
suffering it caused. The very title of the poem Dulce et Decorum est can be translated as , It is
sweet and proper to die for the fatherland. It is now commonly referred to as the old lie because
the saying is very old and commonly used but can not really be seen as true. Though the title is
titled as such, the meaning of the poem actually argues against the phrase. In the poem, there is
nothing fearless or glorious about the soldiers in the war. All of the language that was in the
poem has a very negative connotation. The words used like, beggars , lame , blind , deaf ,
clumsy, helpless ,and more show that the men are very discombobulated and are in fact
suffering. There is a lot of death and chaos occurring. The phrase is referred to as the old lie
because how can one see the horrors of war and still tell people and young children that it is
honorable and glorious to fight and die for one s country. At first glance. one would assume that
Owen utilizes Iambic Pentameter in his poem. However, there is no

Lawrence Vs Texas Case Study
In the 2003, the Supreme Court ruled that that state laws banning gay person homosexuality are
illegal as an infringement of the privilege to protection. The case of Lawrence v. Texas was a
clear takeoff from the Court s conservative procedure in the 1980s and 1990s, which discovered
proof of central rights just in exercises the laws themselves considerably ensured ( history and
conventions ). Houston police were dispatched to Lawrence s (defendant in the case) home

Snow Drifts In The United States
Our great state was hit with one of the worst snow storms in the state s history on January 25th,
1978. The snow fall was mainly in the 8 to 14 inch range, but some places in the state were hit
with snowfall in the amounts of 30 to 40 inches. This was complicated even more with some snow
drifts reaching the 20 feet range. These unusual snow drifts were caused by winds blowing up to 50
mph. This strong winter stormalso affected our neighboring Midwest states, Ohio and Illinois.
They both were also struck with a lot of the same weather conditions that struck our state. These
problems were multiplied by the fact that we had received approximately 15 inches of snow the
previous weekend. That snow was still on the ground in a lot of

Clara Wieck Schumann and the Struggle for Equality in...
Clara Wieck Schumann and the Struggle for Equality in Nineteenth Century Germany The place of
women before and during the nineteenth century is well summarized by a Bavarian statute book,
which states that by marriage, the wife comes under the authority of the husband and the law
allows him to chastise her moderately (Gay 177). These ideas are similarly echoed in the
Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the
Citizen and the writings of Jean Jacques Rousseau. The former did not afford women any of the
rights provided for men, such as liberty, property, resistance to oppression, voting, free speech, etc.;
the latter reasoned that because women were the weaker sex, they should not (and moreover could
not) be a part of society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also during this period, nationalism was on the rise and encompassed nearly all aspects of
universities, which increasingly allowed women access to an education, opening the door for their
liberation (Gay 48).
Very often during this period, women experienced great monotony in their lives and became jaded
with the tasks they performed day after day. While some women put up with this hackneyed life,
others struggled to free themselves from it. Many not only fought for rights but against injustices
their sex had sustained in previous centuries (Gay 172). The end of the nineteenth century saw an
increased activism by women, who argued against their dominated position and for fundamental
changes in laws (Gay 177). While there did exist some men who supported women and believed
their deprivation of many rights was unjust, many more were disheartened with the advancing
woman. Because men had come to relax in their domineering role, they became uncomfortable, if
not fearful, when women showed their independence. This led to a bourgeois culture which can
be summed up in a single word: uncertainty (Gay 48, 171). Changes were occurring at a rapid
pace, and many older, more conservative citizens saw this as a time of frenzied disregard for the
concrete, sustained values and morals with which they had been raised. The nineteenth century was
a time when all facets of life religious, political, sexual were being questioned

example is when Dr. Evil gets mad at one of his henchman for not doing his job correctly, so he

The Three Argument Of Ethical Egoism

I Shayka Wood
PHI112C41 Ethics: AH3
Professor Jake Camp Ethical Egoism is the doctrine that each person ought to pursue his or her
own self interest exclusively. Ethical Egoism is the idea that the principle of self interest accounts
for all of one s obligations (Rachels Rachels, 2016). With Ethical Egoism, sometimes helping others
will also help yourself. Ethical Egoism does not say to not help others. The benefit to others is not
what makes the act right; the act is right because it benefits you. A common misunderstanding with
this theory is that an Ethical Egoist is egotistical Ethical egoism endorses selfishness, but not

David Suzuki Diversity Is Strength
Pluralistic superiority is a pervasive concept existing in a significant portion of the Westernized
world, enforcing the notion that multi cultural, multi ethnic, and multi national ideologies are
inextricably related with societal and economic progress, exemplified by the myopic and
unsubstantiated quotation Diversity is Strength from the current incumbent of Canada s position of
prime minister. The fundamental issue with this perspective is its inability to properly process
anterior information related to alternate states, and the orthodox prerequisites involved in the
ascension of relevant nation states by creating such an axiomatic statement which purportedly
embodies the quixotic goals of a state. As a method of responding to the notion... Show more

An intrinsic issue related to David Suzuki s postulation that diversity of all variants is useful to the
perpetuation of the is his intentional disregard for the biological notion of conflict within
ecosystems, specifically pertaining to invasive species and the ecosystems (and entities inhabiting
the ecosystem) which are the recipients of said invasion; if a species is relocated to an ecosystem
and possesses traits which fundamentally do not align with the synergistic and symbiotic nature of
the ecosystem , there exists a ubiquitous consequence for the denizens who are accustomed to the
relatively static nature of their environment. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological
notion of ecosystem equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental
disagreements with the predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants;
this, historically, results in the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary
inhabitants and incompatibly invasive) and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to
manifest in both active and passive assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific
region) of the incompatibly invasive or the disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure
. Present within both a biological and socio cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem,
and operating within the confines of such permits a higher degree of success when approaching
multi culturalism, but attempting to implement the unrestricted proliferation of any species or
culture within an environment, as proselytized by David Suzuki, is not functional. An example of
such would be introducing the Andean bear into the environment of the Asiatic black bear, in

The title, Special education refers to education for students who may require additional support to
become successful individuals. In the public school system, from elementary to secondary they
have a classroom where all children with learning disabilities are able to interact with a teacher or
teacher aid one on one. The amount of disorders that are helped and treated through the special
education system is broad. It is so broad that they tend to students such as an individual who is not
able to pay attention in an ordinary class, to students who are non ambulatory, visually impaired,
and deaf.
The special education class allows students with learning disabilities to get individual attention
that is needed in order for the student to focus and make it to the next step in life. Everything
from the student s setting to needs are planned and monitored. The special education teachers are
able to provide support such as assisting with identified modifications to student s academic and
physical tasks in order to meet their needs and help their differences in the learning cycle.
However, not all special education students need one on one teacher aids. The need for a one to
one assistance is considered, depending on the individuals needs.
In 2001, Wooster showed that, in 1975 the Education for all children act was renamed the
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)

Eco terrorism has been said by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to be the most significant
domestic terror threat facing the United States today ( Environmental ). This assumption could not
be any more true. Everyday, the lives of many innocent citizens and animals are put in danger just
for a group of people to try to make a statement about what they believe is right, and what they

exploitation of natural resources and despoliation of the environment are becoming so severe that
action outside of conventional legal and environmental channels is required ( Ecoterrorism.

Though most groups are targeting the higher ups in a business or production, many of the lower
level workers are being harmed in their attempts. Putting people in danger to make a statement is
not the right way to approach the situation. Legal actions should, and are often taken against these
individuals that see it necessary to cause destruction to fix a problem. Because of their violent
actions, environmental activists have been legally deemed terrorists. They have inflicted millions
of dollars in damages and have maimed innocent people ( Ecoterrorism: The Dangerous ). The term
Eco terrorist came into play because the goal of these domestic terrorists are the same as those of
international terrorists; to threaten a legitimately elected government through causing domestic
unrest and threatening the peaceful orderliness of society ( Environmental ). Main targets of these
acts include forestation projects, hydro electric operations, resource production, and land based

Babylonian Revisited
All about Character: Scott F. Fitzgerald F. Scott Fitzgerald s Babylonian Revisited demonstrates
how Fitzgerald has clearly been inspired by his personal life events in the writing of his stories. We
see a character who got caught up in the indulgences in life, which eventually led him to his
ultimate downfall. Although readers should focus on the meaning of the story and not focus on the
similarities between it and his work, the similarities are striking and are obviously not simply a
coincidence. The story celebrates the themes of holding onto the past and accomplishing the great
task of transforming one s character. Readers are able to connect with Charlie in the story, as nearly

Nevertheless, it is impossible to ignore that Fitzgerald definitely included these aspects for a
purpose. Shain claims in F. Scott Fitzgerald that He used himself so mercilessly in his fiction, there
is often a complete fusion between his life and his stories (6). In addition to the drinking,
Fitzgerald also experienced major issues in his relationship with his wife, Zelda. Memories of
Scott by Ring explains how He had constantly to put the novel aside to earn quick money for
living for Zelda s sanitarium bills, for Scottie s tuition at Vasaar (19.) However, the mention of
this in the story is only more of a reminder, and not a direct similarity. Marion talks about how
maybe Charlie could have helped out with Honoria more if he were not in the sanitarium. In
addition, she blames her sister s death on Charlie. Although the correlations may not be exact in
some areas, it is clear that he connected some crucial areas of his life that interfered in having a
healthy relationship with the women in his life. In order to provide money for his family, he
had to make money, and as he earned it, he was exposed to things he shouldn t have been. At the
end of the story, he is told that it was rumored Charlie lost a lot in the crash. He agrees, but he
states that he lost everything he wanted in the boom. This story circles around the absent
relationship with his wife, and the struggling one he faces with his daughter. He is constantly
battling alcoholism, and he is reminded by Honoria s title of the type of man he must be for her
in order to become a better person and father. At the end of Babylon Revisited, Charlie explains
that he was absolutely sure Helen wouldn t want him to be alone (156). Fitzgerald could not

student in turn viewed participating in physical educationpositively. Results also revealed that there
was a connection with student insight of the learning climate and attitudes of the student as
opposed to self determination. Results for the second question revealed that associations with
attitude, self determination, and learning climate during the 24 hour pedometer count were not
strong. Results from the third research question confirmed results from previous research, that
physical activity levels and student motivationdecreases after grade six. Results from the pedometer
count further confirmed the theory that physical activity declines in grade six. Further studies
concluded that gender plays a role in physical activity levels. According to the pedometer counts,
boys achieved a greater amount of steps than girls, thus confirming that boys reach a higher level of
physical activity than their opposite counterparts. The authors acknowledged that the findings
reported with gender levels were consistent with other research conducted in this area.

The Inequality Of Social Classes
America is referred to as a molting pot, which means that it has a variety of ethnic cultures and
backgrounds that are unified. Though America may be diverse, there is still a huge factor that
separates people and prevents those from becoming an equal. That discrepancy is the iniquity in
social classes. On September of 2011, Matt Wuerker a political cartoonist for Politico, published
Kitchen Tables that highlighted the injustice in social classes. It is a cartoon that consist of three
different drawings of kitchen tables that Americans sit around: a luxurious upper class, an average
middle class, and a deprived underclass. Wuerker used unequal proportion between each of the
drawings size to represent the iniquity within social classes. He not only gave the upper class
half of the paper, but he also labeled it the top 1% . Wuerker even used colors that symbolized
the meaning of the political cartoon. The upper class has an elegant golden table, with a purple
shadow casting underneath it. The middle class has a green table, with a dirt green background.
The underclass has a rusty bucket that is flipped upside down for a table, with a somber blue
background. Wuerker used wit to display a serious message that is effecting people throughout
America. Matt Wuerker used numerous ways that exemplifies the message he is trying to get
across, and each of those make it an effective political cartoon for the minority of the Americans
that can relate to it. It is natural for humans

Fair Value Accounting And Intangible Assets
Fair Value Accounting and Intangible Assets
The considerable debate on the advantages and disadvantages of moving towards a full mark to
market accounting system for financial institutions has been triggered by the move of the
International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the US Financial Accounting Standards
Board (FASB) to make changes in this direction as part of an attempt to globalize accounting
standards. Both fair value accounting and historical cost accounting have their advantages and
drawbacks and therefore it is hard to conclude which system is superior to the other. Within the
accounting systems, the valuation of intangible assets has been a constant source of attention by
the board as well. This essay summarizes the superiority of fair value accounting in measuring
value of certain assets and liabilities including intangible assets in light of the IASB discussion
paper released recently.
According to RodrГguez PГ©rez et al (2011) the debate between the choice of Fair value and
Historical cost accounting essentially takes root from the debate of relevance and reliability. The
IASB Framework defines relevancy as when information influences the economic decisions of users
by helping them evaluate past, present or future events or confirming, or correcting, their past
evaluations. Reliability as defined by the IASB framework is when information is faithfully
represented, prudent, it contains substance over form, it is neutral, and complete. Even though both

Essay on Ghost on the Throne Book Review
James Romm wrote Ghost on the Throne with the purpose to inform the reader of Alexander the
Great and the empire he established, with the ensuing chaos the came after when Alexander
tragically died at a young age. The book was organized somewhat chronologically, starting from
opening the tombs in which Alexander was buried and how he fell ill, to the closing of the tombs
and a reflection of the fall of his empire. Romm tried to answer the question of how Alexander
died, providing multiple theories of how and why he died. Romm seemed to advocate the theory of
poison from Alexander s enemies, including the fact that many people wanted to see Alexander
dead. Romm also explained in great detail how the empire fell; the countries wanted to... Show

The people were devastated and afraid that they had lost him. The two ideas are relevant to each
other and support the author s idea; that Alexander was perceived as a God to his people.
However, the switch in time periods makes the book more difficult to understand than if it was
explained chronologically. Romm did go into much detail about Alexander: he explained
Alexander s family history, his top advisors, his love life, his illness, and over all Alexander s
personality. Romm describes Alexander s family history and how he came to assume the throne
after his father was assassinated. Romm provided historical evidence of Alexander s family
through the opening of Alexander s tombs and sculptures found of other members of his family.
Also mentioned were Alexander s top military advisors and closest friends, known as the
Successors. Detail was provided that they did not try to succeed the king for the first seven years
after Alexander s death. They wanted his power, but not the throne. This supported the author s
idea of people desiring power but how they were conflicted with their respect for Alexander.
Romm discussed Alexander s marriages as well as his quest to conquer, showing a different side
of Alexander. Alexander is mostly portrayed with a great work ethic, imbued with a great desire.
Through his last days, however, Romm expresses more of

In the chosen profession of exercise science it is an important skill to adopt a certain approach to
working with different clientele; this may be in many different clinical situations. For example
sports scientists are now using the performance profile technique to help implement training
programs for athletes. A study concerning the performance profile areas was undertaken in 1998
and examined the effect of altered mood states involving the areas of perceived need for an
individual identified by the performance profile (Doyle and Parfitt, 1998). Similarly an experiment

The West Memphis Three Case Analysis
The Case of the West Memphis Three involves the three teenage boys accused and convicted of
murdering Michael Moore, Stevie Branch, and Christopher Byers in West Memphis, Arkansas on
May 5th, 1993. The investigation, trial, and appeals that followed would put the Arkansas criminal
justice system under scrutiny for their actions. The West Memphis Police Department arrested and
charged Jason Baldwin, Damien Echols, and Jessie Misskelly, Jr. with the three boy s murders.
The entire case was under the constant watch of the media and brought a great deal of attention
to the actions and conduct of the West Memphis Police Department, as well as the Arkansas
criminal justice system. Many outsiders got involved with the West Memphis Three case. Among
these outsiders were famous musicians Eddy Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam and Natalie

the West Memphis three to obtain appropriate post conviction representation and unbiased forensic

evidence (and the new testing and expert analysis of the original evidence) ultimately helped the

In the first reading which is called Tragedy of the Commons, written by Garrett Harden, the author
Harden talks about the problems of the public goods and some solutions as well. The author
basically insists that there are no technical solutions for the problems caused by overpopulation.
He also gives some examples of the tragedy of the commons and the reasons why these problems
cannot be overcome. He mentioned about the appearance of the atomic resources which is
considered as an infinite resource, and he says that people usually tend to consider this infinite
resources as a solution of the problem of overpopulation. However, the author claims that the

First of all, he explains that the difference between public goods and common pool resources.
For example, we can say that groundwater, grazing and trees are common pool resources. If a
person uses resource at once and gets benefits from it, the value of the resource becomes lower
to the another person. On the other hand, using of the public goods does not make lower the
value of the resources whoever uses it. He gives an unusual observations regarding Indian
Village which has no clearly defined social domain or institution separate from state authority.
The author observed total of forty one villages, and he found out that people in all of the villages
share the goods and services very effectively and evenly based on common property rights. The
reason why this village could use resources properly is that there are four main institutions; a
village council, village standing fund, village guards, and common irrigators; which have their own
common property rights. These institutions also have their own rights to do such as council
organize the supply of the public goods, or village guards protect crops from livestock etc. Also, all
the services in this village except water distribution are financed from the village standing fund. As
a result, since these institutions have their own common property rights, they cannot help but have
responsibility to protect village properly. Also, this well made common property rights of the
village could protect total tragedy of the commons as a result. Furthermore, the author gives
another example about grazing in a village. For example, as he mentions above, every single
rational herdsman prefers to keep as many cattle as they can to make higher benefits. To keep as
many cattle as they can, they have to protect them by hiring

The Lottery By Shirley Jackson Essay
A story that could capture anyone s attention is the story called The Lottery by Shirley Jackson.
The story starts off right away with the setting. On a warm day in late June the 27th. The
villages in there town all gather together to participate in the lottery. The game was ruled by Mr.
Summers. The head of the household would forward to a black wooden box, where each selects
a slip of paper. The paper is then put into a box and drawn to see who will win the money. The
small town is basically devouring a member of its own community. One of the charters Tess whose
name was on the piece of paper and she proses in vain as the villages attack her.
During the story its makes everyone think about the rituals and traditions that people follow as
members of our society. The way the tittle says lottery it s a way of analyzing traditions social and
gender divisions. That during the lottery some families are formed and others art. The story has a
weird way on talking about what the paper means. The paper that has come to seem like that the
paper is money. Sometimes when it comes to the lottery during this story it could mean fortune
either is good or bad. The lottery is gambling and it s all up to chance.
The lottery is a tradition that takes place in the village and is practiced by the villagers. It s like a
celebration it seems like to them almost like how Christmas would seem to us or even New Year s.
While reading the story it seemed like the value and the meaning of the

Prescriptive Effects Of Ideology And The Weapons Of Mass...
A leader cannot call something a genocide and then walk off the public stage without doing
anything to help because terminology does not just have descriptive qualities but prescriptive
qualities as well. The term Weapons of Mass destruction is limited to a select few innately
powerful weapons, whose deployment is controlled by a single or small group of people and that
when deployed can kill a monumental number of humans. This definition is very precise for a
reason, these weapons must be dealt with differently because responsibilityfor mass casualty when
using a WMD lies with the leaders instead of the masses. Leaders are solely responsible for the
decision to take a large number of human lives. The term Weapons of Mass destructionshould not
be expanded to include ideologies and more primitive weapons, for unlike those already apart of
the definition, ideologies and primitive weapons are only so destructive when chosen to be used by
the masses. By expanding the term one is expanding an expectation that WMDs should be evaluated
on the macro level. This is harmful to it would conflate the importance of smaller scale choices,
thereby misrepresenting history and hindering the world s ability to learn from such mistakes.
Ideology is the excuse and primitive weapons the tool by which the masses create destruction they
are not weapons of mass destruction themselves but part of systems that create similar effects. Since
distinction is vital to effectively understanding and

Truman Capote and Postmodernism
Truman Capote, as obsessed with fame and fortune as with penning great words, was a writer
who became as well known for his late night talk show appearances as for his prose (Patterson 1).
Capote was a literary pop star at the height of his fame in 1966, after he had written such classic
books as, Other Rooms, Other Voices, Breakfast at Tiffany s, and In Cold Blood
. Postmodernism
was a literary period that began after the Second World War and was a rejection of traditional
writing techniques. It used fragmented sentences and questionable narrators, as well as many other
unconventional techniques, to break the previous barriers of literature. Truman Capotewas a major
player in the postmodern game, using his own broken childhood to... Show more content on

Capote validates Smith for trying to break out of the social mold of the problem child . Capote
is also indifferent towards the lives of the Clutters. Mr. Clutter couldn t escape Perry Smith s
stereotype of him as the self righteous tormentor and therefore could not escape Smith s revenge
on the society that shunned him. The motifs that capote uses in this novel were the animals that
he featured in it. The animals that Capote mentions in this book are weak and defenseless, and
they symbolize the defenselessness of Smith and even of Capote. Capote was frustrated with
societies condemnation of people outside the social norms, and it show in this book through his
pessimistic point of view. He feels contempt for the pious Clutter family because they
represented the type of people that abandoned him as a child. If Capote s mission for In Cold
Blood was to create an unbiased account of what took place during the murder of the Clutter
family and other facts the surround the event, then he failed because his opinion is quite clear
throughout the entire book (Kim np). I Agree with Lydia Kim s opinion of how Capote s so
called non fiction novel was laced with his opinions and strong emotional connection with Perry
Smith. After reading several biographical essays on Truman Capote, and reading an excerpt of In
Cold Blood, it became clear that Capote was a very opinionated character who would often say
what was on his mind, whether it was an

Military Draft Research Paper
The United States of America has not used a draft for their military since 1973 and some people
wonder if it should be put back in use. The U.S. citizens are worried that volunteers will not be
enough if a bigger war breaks out and that we truly need the draft. The big question with this idea
is, it it a good idea to bring back the draft? The draft violates the 1st amendment in a way because
people are allowed to protest and the government needs to look out for the security of its people.
In the Rostker vs Goldberg case the Supreme Court ruled that women would be excluded from the
draft because they are unfit to serve in the militarylike men are and that is based on old views of
women. The draft does violate people s rights but it might be... Show more content on

and 1% is not very many people if we were to go into WW3. If people vote to put the draft in
though the U.S. will not have a draft for a long time because almost no one wants it. Most recent
veterans oppose the draft more than civilians do, More than eight in ten post 9/11 veterans and
74% of the public say the U.S. should not return to the draft at this time. With democracy
somethings may never have a chance of ever happening or ever coming back. If the United States
reissued the draft then foreign countries might think twice about attacking the U.S. because of
the number of soldiers they could pull in to fight them. With the United States relationship with
Korea right now the volunteers may not be enough to fight Korea alone. The draft would be
very useful in times of war and, it would provide the U.S. with a sort of insurance system if the
volunteers are not enough. The United States has always been known as a world power, and if it
starts to lose wars and little battles then other countries will know that the U.S. is weak. The
United States has never lost a war if you do not include Vietnam, and if the U.S. does not have as
many soldiers as it needs then the loss tally is going to go up

Women Are Over Sexualised In The Music Industry Essay
Discussion
To find out whether people believe that women are being commodified in the music industry or not
I created a questionnaire. I asked an equal amount of men and women to get an even opinion from
both genders. The questionnaire had five questions that were:
1.What is your gender?
2.What would you prefer in a music video?
3.When watching a music video, what do you focus on more?
4.Do you think women are over sexualised in the music industry?
5.Do you think men are over sexualised in the music industry?
From conducting the questionnaire I can conclude that 95% of the people I asked believed that
women were being oversexualised. When watching a music video they focused more on the song
and choreography, than how attractive the people in the music video were. The results from the
questionnaire suggest that most people aren t superficial when it comes to the music industry,
however my research ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is now commended for her singing as well as being praised for being a triple threat, being
able to sing, dance and act to a high standard, although she and Demi are no longer friends. Demi
Lovato worked very close with Selena Gomez and the two were best friends right up until they
left Disney. Demi had the most serious issues with transitioning over to the music industry, to the
point where she ended up in rehab, for suffering from bulimia, self harming and depression. She
was part of the TV show Sonny with a Chance which had to be discontinued due to her illness.
Whilst in therapy she was diagnosed with bipolar. Bipolar disorder, also known as manic
depression, is a mental illness that brings severe high and low moods and changes in sleep, energy,
thinking, and behavior. http://www.webmd.com/bipolar disorder/mental health bipolar disorder#1.
Demi did an interview on Good Morning America where she formally addressed her illness.

  • 2. My Reflection On My Capstone Rotation 1.Some of the emotions I experienced at clinical were a sense of self confidence and excitement. In previous semesters, I feel as if I am typically a little more nervous on the first clinical experience. However, my emotions were very different starting my capstone rotation. I think this is because I know I am nearing the end of nursing school and I have much more knowledge than I did at this time two years ago. I have learned that nursing is a profession of life long learning and each day is an opportunity to learn something new. Therefore, having those ideas in mind I feel that I didn t make myself worry about what I didn t know, instead, I was excited and focused on what I was going to learn. These feelings held true for both shifts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Two nurses were continuously talking negative about a nurse s aide on the floor. They felt that she didn t help them as much as she could have and that she picks and chooses who she helps. After taking a recent workplace violence module in our leadership class this semester, I have a better understanding on how this impacts patient centered care and that this situation is a very negative workplace behavior. Initially, I felt that it was best to ignore the situation because as a student I didn t want to get involved. However, after the gossip continued, attempts to resolve the issue were to state that the floor was busy and as a PCT I often get behind as well, the nurses then agreed that the unit was busy and moved on to a different conversation. Throughout the whole ordeal I continued to have my patient s best interest at priority and didn t let the behavior of these nurses impede on the care being provided. (2 points) 4.Safety concerns that I encountered during the experience were in regards to a patient admitted for unrelieved chest pain. The patient was in his late seventies and had end stage renal disease. According to Lewis and colleagues (2014), after age seventy five, renal clearance of medications declines substantially, which places elderly individuals at risk for medication toxicity (p. 73). However, since the patient also had end stage renal disease the risk for toxicity was even greater. Because of the patient s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bean s working environment now because it has added a great number of perks such as free on site massages. The most popular program is that L.L. Bean s employees can have three to five days every year to take some outdoor activities with colleagues for the purpose of developing new relationships. For instance, in March, 69 employees took one day to ski and walked in the snow for three miles with their managers. Another benefit is that if employees want to explore the outdoors, L.L. I have the same opinion as McCarthy. Encouraging employees to use the company s products is an efficient business strategy. On one hand, most of L.L Bean s customers are outdoor enthusiasts, so salesmen who have rich experience in exploring the outdoors can get more trust from customers. On the other hand, salesmen can recommend the most suitable products to customers because they are more familiar with the merits of different products. Furthermore, it is easier for designers to optimize the company s products because they can find some shortcomings of these products during their outdoor days of experiencing them ... Homosexual Elements in The Picture of Dorian Gray In spite of the novel s heterosexual text, many critics agree that it has various homosexual elements in its characters, in the dialogues, and even in the portrait itself. • 7. The Contamination Of The Spinach Field Essay We all know that poor and dirty conditions lead to the accumulation of bacteria and other health risking factors. It is a violation of policy for health codes. This can be seen in the Mountain View Farms most likely due to the fact that they grew the spinach in unfavorable conditions. There is a possibility that the spinach field came into contact with the STEC O157:H7 through outside sources due to the fact that they were exposed in dangerous conditions in outside environments instead of being grown in a facility that is enclosed. In order to save and cut costs of manufacturing spinach, the farm most likely planted their spinach outside. While this practice is common, it is also unsafe as pollutants from other manufacturing companies and farms can wash down into the spinach field. In this scenario, according to the map of nearby industries, there are a few sources that could have exposed the spinach field to STEC O157:H7. The Floyd s Pork Farm is the most suspected source as the dangerous strain of E. Coli can be contracted from the animals through their food source and passed through their fecal matter. The feces are then washed into nearby water systems by the rain and might not be filtered and processed completely before being used. In this case, the water that was infected is being used for the irrigation system to water and grow the spinach and other crops. Now the spinach has the E. Coli strain and then being harvested to be bagged and sold off to the consumers. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both marijuana and hemp have a long history in the United States. Unfortunately, because both plants are from the cannabis species, hemp was pigeonholed into a dangerous drug classification along with marijuana, representing the beginning of the end for hemp as a major agricultural asset to the United States. (Smith 233) In his research, Smith found that the source of the problem stems from the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 that was carried over into the comprehensive Drug Abuse Controlled and Prevention Act of 1970. Banning industrial hemp was a mistake from the beginning. The government refusing to address this situation is not acceptable and that is where the Oglala Sioux tribe in Pine Ridge, South Dakota have drawn a line in the sand. The tribe said it is their right as a sovereign state to cultivate their land. They were also purposely shedding light on the need to legalize hemp. • 10. The Mistreatment Of The Illegal Immigrants The mistreatment of the illegal immigrants has become a serious issue among the United States. There are tons of debates on the issue, which causes a lot of unrest among the citizens of the country. With the political debates constanly going back and forth, I well reveal the many insecurities and injustices that many of the immigrants have faced. Many have complained that because of the illegal immigrants, the competition for jobs have been fierce making it impossible to obtain a job. However, by analyzing the welfare of the immigrants, we find that many of them are fighting for minimum wage jobs. The struggle to make two ends meet alone is enough to cause a breaking point let alone the unfair treatment given to them by the biased masses. Not even the children are spared from the senseless bickering, Leaving them doomed to suffer the unjust penalties due to the lack of Immigrationreform. Immigrants have been constantly being demonized by the usual patriotic propaganda the has spawned from the people. The lack of any positive reform can t be seen in the future due to congress at a constant power struggle spiraling downward. Analyzing the Welfare effect of illegal immigration, shows the dynamic overall framework and shows why it s positive for two reasons. First, immigrants are paid less than their marginal product, and second, after an increase in immigration, domestic households find it optimal to increase their holdings of capital. • 11. Understanding Vigilante Justice The use of vigilante justice is illegal but, at times it can be understood. Vigilante justice is considered legal when dealing with it as self defense.. The term vigilante justice means someone has gone outside the law to carry out a punishment for a crime. In other words vigilante justice means that a citizen has taken justice into their own hands. One of the defining elements of vigilantism is a response that involves violence that exceeds the legitimate use of force in self defense. These people who take justice into their own hands are called a vigilante. Our legal system does not permit vigilante justice (Grisham 137). Self defense, though, is the only type of vigilante justice that is legal because it is one of the rights written in the constitution. It is considered legal because self defense is one of the rights given to American citizens in the Constitution. Our legal system also cannot condone men who take the law into their own hands . This means that the government cannot over look a case of vigilante justice because it will cause problems in our society. The legal system also cannot over look it because the society cannot have people just running around with guns shooting other people who did them wrong. The world would be chaos if that was allowed to happen because everyone would be taking justice into their own hands because they are unhappy with the outcome of the case. Most of the time the act of vigilante justice is taken because the legal system isn t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the first examples Mauss gives is of his observation of various armies and the way in which they march. He speaks of how the English army marches with a different step to the French. • 13. Outline Of A Child Immunization Destiny Caldwell Mr. Nordlund Honors English I May 21, 2015 Child Immunization: Diseases Becoming More Prevalent in Children Vaccines are crucial in a child s life. Immunizations and vaccines help prevent future diseases such as pneumonia, polio, and HPV. Polio is a disease that can cause paralysis (Poliomyelitis). This disease is most commonly found in Nigeria, Pakistan, and Afghanistan (Childhood). One out of every five children in Pakistan don t have their necessary vaccines and immunizations (Childhood). In rural areas 2/3 of their children don t get their vaccinations (Childhood). Pakistan health issues are mainly due to the slow economic growth. They can t pay for the health advancements because they don t have the funds. After the U.S. killed Osama bin Laden who was found in Pakistan, the Talibanbanned the polio vaccine which will affect thousands of children(Park). The growth of child immunization, the structure of Pakistan, and the contrast between Pakistan and the U.S. all show what influences fluctuations in child immunizations. Child immunizations have grown over the past few centuries. In most countries they are 100% free of certain diseases due to new developments of vaccines. • 14. Muslim Minorities Security in OIC Member States Muslim Minorities Security in OIC Member States Division within the Muslim world did not begin until after the death of the Prophet Muhammad. It arose in the form of political uncertainty about who would be the next leader of the Muslim community after the death of the Prophet. One group of thinkers, who came to be known as Shiites (Shia meaning faction in Arabic), believed that authority in the Muslim world should stay within the family of the Prophet, and so pointed to Ali and his son Husayn, Muhammad s close relatives. Another group, known as Sunnis, believed that the person most worthy to lead should become the caliph, no matter his bloodline (Strayer 423). Over the centuries, this Sunni/Shiite divide only widened. Several Shiite rebellions mainly failures invested them with an ideology that their dead leaders were simply hiding, leading them to develop the belief in the Hidden, or Twelfth, Imam who would one day return and set right the Shiites problems with the Sunnis (Strayer 423). Other minor differences exist in the two groups ideology, with Shiites placing weight just on the teachings of Muhammad and his descendants, whereas the Sunnis recognize works from other influential early Muslim leaders. Several subdivisions exist within Shia Islam; their differences exist in how many imams throughout history they recognize as legitimate. The beacon and the gibbet are the only things that are verticle and standing, as they are very important and have to stand out. This is because the beacons light guides in good people who will be saved from the distant savage lair, criminals being the savage beasts. The gibbet is the place where criminals will go, and they will not be saved. This, in Dickens view, is what will happen between the two groups of people. If Pip does steel he will go to the gibbet. Dickens cleverly associates the graveyard with the dark, mist and the rushing winds. These provide the right atmosphere that corresponds to the gloomy, course, grey appearance of Magwitch, a criminal. Magwitch is described as being a fearful man, with a terrible voice and shuddering body. This is Dickens view on what a criminal was like in the society in the Victorian times. Dickens puts across the idea of going across the marshes is a path you wouldn t want to take as it hurts, it s unpleasant, it s wild and cold, it s not attactive and it s lonely. This also means that being a criminal is a path you wouldn t want to take for the same reasons. When Magwitch turns Pip upside down, it s like Pips life being turned around. From being a well brought up boy to a criminal. Dickens wrote this to show the idea of the change in Pip s behaviour and manner towards criminality. The appearance of Magwitch, cut ... • 24. Literary Analysis Of Dulce Et Decorum Est In early history, Soldiers going off to fight in war seemed brave and fearless. It was always seen as an honor to serve in your country s army. However, in Dulce Et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, through the depictions of an actual battle, it is shown that those feelings are not actually present during war. The genre of the poem is war. In fact is very much propaganda against war. After the events of World War 1, Owen did not see the necessity of war in witnessing all the suffering it caused. The very title of the poem Dulce et Decorum est can be translated as , It is sweet and proper to die for the fatherland. It is now commonly referred to as the old lie because the saying is very old and commonly used but can not really be seen as true. Though the title is titled as such, the meaning of the poem actually argues against the phrase. In the poem, there is nothing fearless or glorious about the soldiers in the war. All of the language that was in the poem has a very negative connotation. The words used like, beggars , lame , blind , deaf , clumsy, helpless ,and more show that the men are very discombobulated and are in fact suffering. There is a lot of death and chaos occurring. The phrase is referred to as the old lie because how can one see the horrors of war and still tell people and young children that it is honorable and glorious to fight and die for one s country. At first glance. one would assume that Owen utilizes Iambic Pentameter in his poem. However, there is no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Clara Wieck Schumann and the Struggle for Equality in Nineteenth Century Germany The place of women before and during the nineteenth century is well summarized by a Bavarian statute book, which states that by marriage, the wife comes under the authority of the husband and the law allows him to chastise her moderately (Gay 177). These ideas are similarly echoed in the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen and the writings of Jean Jacques Rousseau. The former did not afford women any of the rights provided for men, such as liberty, property, resistance to oppression, voting, free speech, etc.; the latter reasoned that because women were the weaker sex, they should not (and moreover could not) be a part of society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also during this period, nationalism was on the rise and encompassed nearly all aspects of universities, which increasingly allowed women access to an education, opening the door for their liberation (Gay 48). Very often during this period, women experienced great monotony in their lives and became jaded with the tasks they performed day after day. While some women put up with this hackneyed life, others struggled to free themselves from it. Many not only fought for rights but against injustices their sex had sustained in previous centuries (Gay 172). The end of the nineteenth century saw an increased activism by women, who argued against their dominated position and for fundamental changes in laws (Gay 177). While there did exist some men who supported women and believed their deprivation of many rights was unjust, many more were disheartened with the advancing woman. Because men had come to relax in their domineering role, they became uncomfortable, if not fearful, when women showed their independence. This led to a bourgeois culture which can be summed up in a single word: uncertainty (Gay 48, 171). Changes were occurring at a rapid pace, and many older, more conservative citizens saw this as a time of frenzied disregard for the concrete, sustained values and morals with which they had been raised. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this, historically, results in the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary inhabitants and incompatibly invasive) and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to manifest in both active and passive assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure . The author observed total of forty one villages, and he found out that people in all of the villages share the goods and services very effectively and evenly based on common property rights. Row level shared locks allow multiple users to read data, but do not allow any users to change that data.Table level shared locks allow multiple users to perform read and write operations on the table, but do not allow any users to perform DDL operations.Multiple users can hold shared locks simultaneously. An exclusive lock allows only one user/connection to update a particular piece of data (insert, update, and delete). When one user has an exclusive lock on a row or table, no other lock of any type may be placed on it. Each Xact must obtain a S (shared) lock on object before reading, and an X (exclusive) lock on object before writing. A transaction can release its locks once it has performed its desired operation (R or W). A transaction cannot request additional locks once it releases any locks. All locks ... • 47. Prescriptive Effects Of Ideology And The Weapons Of Mass... A leader cannot call something a genocide and then walk off the public stage without doing anything to help because terminology does not just have descriptive qualities but prescriptive qualities as well. The term Weapons of Mass destruction is limited to a select few innately powerful weapons, whose deployment is controlled by a single or small group of people and that when deployed can kill a monumental number of humans. This definition is very precise for a reason, these weapons must be dealt with differently because responsibilityfor mass casualty when using a WMD lies with the leaders instead of the masses. Leaders are solely responsible for the decision to take a large number of human lives. The term Weapons of Mass destructionshould not be expanded to include ideologies and more primitive weapons, for unlike those already apart of the definition, ideologies and primitive weapons are only so destructive when chosen to be used by the masses. By expanding the term one is expanding an expectation that WMDs should be evaluated on the macro level. This is harmful to it would conflate the importance of smaller scale choices, thereby misrepresenting history and hindering the world s ability to learn from such mistakes. Ideology is the excuse and primitive weapons the tool by which the masses create destruction they are not weapons of mass destruction themselves but part of systems that create similar effects. Since distinction is vital to effectively understanding and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Truman Capote and Postmodernism Truman Capote, as obsessed with fame and fortune as with penning great words, was a writer who became as well known for his late night talk show appearances as for his prose (Patterson 1). Capote was a literary pop star at the height of his fame in 1966, after he had written such classic books as, Other Rooms, Other Voices, Breakfast at Tiffany s, and In Cold Blood . Postmodernism was a literary period that began after the Second World War and was a rejection of traditional writing techniques. It used fragmented sentences and questionable narrators, as well as many other unconventional techniques, to break the previous barriers of literature. Truman Capotewas a major player in the postmodern game, using his own broken childhood to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Capote validates Smith for trying to break out of the social mold of the problem child . Capote is also indifferent towards the lives of the Clutters. Mr. Clutter couldn t escape Perry Smith s stereotype of him as the self righteous tormentor and therefore could not escape Smith s revenge on the society that shunned him. The motifs that capote uses in this novel were the animals that he featured in it. The animals that Capote mentions in this book are weak and defenseless, and they symbolize the defenselessness of Smith and even of Capote. Capote was frustrated with societies condemnation of people outside the social norms, and it show in this book through his pessimistic point of view. He feels contempt for the pious Clutter family because they represented the type of people that abandoned him as a child. If Capote s mission for In Cold Blood was to create an unbiased account of what took place during the murder of the Clutter family and other facts the surround the event, then he failed because his opinion is quite clear throughout the entire book (Kim np). I Agree with Lydia Kim s opinion of how Capote s so called non fiction novel was laced with his opinions and strong emotional connection with Perry Smith. After reading several biographical essays on Truman Capote, and reading an excerpt of In Cold Blood, it became clear that Capote was a very opinionated character who would often say what was on his mind, whether it was an ... • 49. Military Draft Research Paper The United States of America has not used a draft for their military since 1973 and some people wonder if it should be put back in use. The U.S. citizens are worried that volunteers will not be enough if a bigger war breaks out and that we truly need the draft. The big question with this idea is, it it a good idea to bring back the draft? The draft violates the 1st amendment in a way because people are allowed to protest and the government needs to look out for the security of its people. In the Rostker vs Goldberg case the Supreme Court ruled that women would be excluded from the draft because they are unfit to serve in the militarylike men are and that is based on old views of women. The draft does violate people s rights but it might be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... and 1% is not very many people if we were to go into WW3. If people vote to put the draft in though the U.S. will not have a draft for a long time because almost no one wants it. Most recent veterans oppose the draft more than civilians do, More than eight in ten post 9/11 veterans and 74% of the public say the U.S. should not return to the draft at this time. With democracy somethings may never have a chance of ever happening or ever coming back. If the United States reissued the draft then foreign countries might think twice about attacking the U.S. because of the number of soldiers they could pull in to fight them. With the United States relationship with Korea right now the volunteers may not be enough to fight Korea alone. The draft would be very useful in times of war and, it would provide the U.S. with a sort of insurance system if the volunteers are not enough. The United States has always been known as a world power, and if it starts to lose wars and little battles then other countries will know that the U.S. is weak. The United States has never lost a war if you do not include Vietnam, and if the U.S. does not have as many soldiers as it needs then the loss tally is going to go up ... • 50. Women Are Over Sexualised In The Music Industry Essay Discussion To find out whether people believe that women are being commodified in the music industry or not I created a questionnaire. I asked an equal amount of men and women to get an even opinion from both genders. The questionnaire had five questions that were: 1.What is your gender? 2.What would you prefer in a music video? 3.When watching a music video, what do you focus on more? 4.Do you think women are over sexualised in the music industry? 5.Do you think men are over sexualised in the music industry? From conducting the questionnaire I can conclude that 95% of the people I asked believed that women were being oversexualised. When watching a music video they focused more on the song and choreography, than how attractive the people in the music video were. The results from the questionnaire suggest that most people aren t superficial when it comes to the music industry, however my research ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
