This document discusses Pemphigus Vulgaris (PV), a blistering skin disease seen predominantly in elderly patients. The objectives are to discuss the introduction of PV, enumerate its clinical features, and diagnose PV. PV is characterized by the loss of cohesion between epidermal cells, resulting in intraepidermal blisters. Clinical features include flaccid blisters on normal or erythematous skin that rupture easily, leaving denuded areas. Diagnosis involves skin biopsy and IgG testing. PV is distinguished from Pemphigus Foliaceus by PV blisters forming deeper in the epidermis and PV often involving mucous membranes.
