PDHPE in primary schools aims to teach students how to live healthy, active, and fulfilling lives through physical, social, and emotional growth. It encourages understanding of self and others, informed decision making, and the development of positive relationships. Regular physical activity is important for health, as inactivity can lead to issues like obesity, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. The document encourages getting at least 15-20 minutes of physical activity per day through activities like running, swimming, and team sports. The 6F class syllabus will cover topics like active lifestyles, dance, games, growth and development, and personal health choices.

4. Regular physical activity is one of the most
important things you can do for your health. It
can help:
• Control your weight
• Reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease
• Reduce risks of type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome
• Reduce the risk of some cancers
• Strengthen your bones and muscles
• Improve your mental health and mood
• Improve the ability to do daily activities and prevent falls (if you’re
an older adult)
• Increase the chances of a longer life.

5. I like to move it move it…
Lets encourage our children and friends to participate
in at least 15-20 minutes of physical activity daily. This
can include:
• Running
• Walking
• Swimming
• Riding a bike
• Using the treadmill
• Playing in a team sport.
• Aerobics
