What is the PDHPE Syllabus?
 The syllabus is based upon all aspects of
an individual's wellbeing, including social,
mental, physical and spiritual health.
 Trying to help students develop in
knowledge and understanding, skills,
values and attitudes that will enable them
to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
Why is PDHPE important?
 PDHPE aims to:
◦ Encourage and understanding and valuing of self
and others
◦ Promotes physical activity
◦ Emphasises informed decision making leading to
effective and responsible action
Wait there is more…
◦ Physical, social, cognitive and emotional growth and
development patterns
◦ The development and maintenance of positive
interpersonal relationships
◦ The factors influencing personal health choices
◦ Living and learning in a safe secure environment
◦ The adoption of an active lifestyle

important skills: Communication, interacting, decision-

fun and interact with others whilst learning important
information that will help them in their lives.
