In June 1996, the airline purchased its fourth
Boeing 737 aircraft and added service to the new market of Regina. In August that year, Saskatoon
was added. In June 1997, Abbotsford Fraser
Valley was added, making WestJet the only scheduled carrier to operate at that airport. March 1999
saw the addition of the two new destinations of
Thunder Bay and Prince George, and in September
1999, WestJet added Grande Prairie to its service area. WestJet met a major business goal when, in
July 1999, it completed its initial public offering of 2.5 million common shares. The share price
at closing was Cdn$1 0. It was an exciting day for all WestJetters, representing the achievement of
a major goal and raising the necessary capital for expansion of the company in the coming years.
The capital raised from the offering,
Cdn$25 million before post closing adjustments, would be used for the purchase of additional
aircraft, as well as the building of new head office and hangar facilities in Calgary, in order to meet
the needs of the company s expanding workforce.
In 1999, unprecedented changes and restructuring were seen in the airline industry in Canada

The Stamp Act, Boston Massacre And The Boston Tea Party
The American Revolution, one of the most significant events in our world s history, has established
a huge impact on not only life back in the eighteenth and nineteenth century but our society today.
The Acts of Parliament highly benefited the British but did not afford those same rights to the
colonists until the formal issuing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776, in which
colonial freedom was granted. The most controversial issue is which group caused it; a result of
propaganda by the colonists. Multiple acts and protests contributed to this war, three influential
ones being the Stamp Act, Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party.
One of the major causes was the Stamp Act in 1765. This was issued by Parliament to tax every
piece of printed paper colonists used. Other documents such as newspapers, playing cards and any
form of printed publication were also taxed. Money collected by these taxations were used to pay
costs of defending the American frontier. Colonists viewed this act of Parliament as means to raise
money without legislative approval. ВЁReactions to the Stamp Act included riots and boycotts of
British goods. Crowds calling themselves Sons of Liberty prevented stamped papers from being
unloaded from British ships.ВЁ Another organization called the Daughters of Liberty was formed
to promote production of homemade cloth, not imported by the British. Nine colonies met in New
York City to create a statement in which the Stamp Act would be repealed.

Theseus And The Minotaur
There are many examples of heroes throughout history and in story books that convey great
messages, but what makes your leaders heroes? There are many attributes that make a hero but
there are three main areas. To be a hero, one must be willing to make many sacrifices, be humble
and not expect anything from the actions, and make positive changes. To be a hero means to
sacrificesomething for someone else no matter the circumstances or dangers. An example of this
is in the myth Theseus and the Minotaur. It gives a great example of sacrifice and heroism.
Powerful king Minos of Crete demands Athenian women and men every year to feed to the
Minotaur. When Theseus heard about this, he was not happy. He took the place of one of the
sacrificed men and went to the labyrinth of the Minotaur to try and kill the beast himself.
Theseus then expressed his feelings of frustration by saying saying, When it is time to send the
next tribute, I will go as one of them and I vow that it is the last time the Minotaur will be fed
with the flesh of any of our people. Theseus was strong and was willing to put himself in danger
for the safety of his people. Not many people have the courage to sacrifice themselves. Parents
make sacrifices every day. Think of how hard mothers or fathers works to make money, to keep
the kids happy, to feed them, to clean up after everyone, to get their kids where they what to go.
My mom makes sacrifices everyday. She takes my brother dance right after a long

Employee Contract Case Summary
The main issue in this case I whether or not Far Left misclassified Jimmy C as an independent
contractor, and in an extrapolation of that, is Jimmy entitled to workers compensation claim
benefits, minimum wage, and overtime pay for his 60+ hours. According to the U.S. Department of
Labor the misclassification of employees as independent contractors presents one of the most
serious problems facing affected workers, employers and the entire economy. (The Misclassification
of Employees as Independent Contractors). Those misclassified employees often unknowingly
forfeit access to vital health insurance plans, retirement savings accounts and basic entitlements,
such as the minimum wage, overtimecompensation, family and medical leave, unemployment...

An independent contractor would supply many of his own necessary tools and supplies.
What is the nature and degree of the employer s control: an independent contractor must control
meaningful aspects of the work performed such that it is possible to view the worker as a person
conducting her own business.
Does the work performed require special skill and initiative and/or specialty licensing: an individual
s business aptitudes, judgment, motivation and initiative, not technical skills, will aid in
determining whether the worker is economically independent. If the individual can easily be
replaced than it is probably an employee/employer relationship.
Is the business relationship defined as permanent or indefinite: permanence or indefiniteness are
indicative of an employee as compared to an independent contractor, who typically works one
project for an employer and does not necessarily work continuously or repeatedly for an employer
unless his contract is

The Marketing Of Buzz Marketing
The traditional methods to marketing a product has been wearing off for quite some time, and
marketers are seeking for new ways to create awareness of new products. The era of technology has
taken over and for that reason the traditional methods are failing in generating new revenue.
Marketers have been investing a great deal of time in more nontraditional marketingtechniques, like
buzz marketing. Buzz marketing has been increasing faster than any other area of alternative
marketing. The power of buzz marketing is far more effective than any traditional marketing
methods. However, to create a buzz about a product, marketers must first be successful in bringing
forth the product to its consumers. It is very crucial that professionals are... Show more content on

Buzz marketing is a great method in gaining customer s attraction. It is a much more effective
technique because of the sources, which are the customers themselves who are very reliable. The
recommendation by relatives, friends, etc. is more credible than a commercial. Another reason for
its effectiveness is that consumers like the power of reviewing products and being able to share
with other buyers. Many exhibit an innate desire for social interaction and are concerned about the
welfare of others (Clow Baack, 2014, p.281). The purchasers likes being involved with the product
and having their opinions value.
Buzz marketing even with the abundance of benefits is not effective, if the product is not worth
the buzz. One of the most useful piece of advice came from a man named Mark Hughes, the
founder of Herbalife. According to Mark Hughes, the six buttons that start a conversation are the
taboo, the unusual, the outrageous, the hilarious, the remarkable, and secrets. These are used as a
conversation starter because it drives people to be vocal about their opinions.
The first button that we will be focusing on is the taboo. Taboo can mean anything from

What Are The Mummies Of Ancient Culture
Mummies of ancient cultures: facts before fiction For centuries, people have been fascinated
with death. Many questions are asked about what happens after we die, and these questions may
forever remain unanswered. As well as beliefs, everyone has an idea of what they wat to happen
to them after that die. You may want to be cremated and have your ashes spread across an open
meadow, or you may just want to be put in a coffin, and laid into the ground. As it was hundreds of
years ago with different beliefs, it is the same today. Different religions, different Gods, and
different ways of thinking. But how exactly are they different? When people think of ancient burial,
they think back to ancient Egyptians. And what is the reason they are remembered... Show more

In the Mayan culture, one would often be buried beneath their own house! The rest of the family
would then abandon the house so they would not disturb the dead. Much mourning was held for
those who had passed. China and ancient Egypt are quite similar! The Chinese would have their
favorite foods buried with them, so they could accompany the soul in the afterlife. (Bradley)
Artifacts that belonged to the deceased would also be buried with them. But the Chinese practiced
one ritual that many other ancient cultures did not: servants and concubines be buried with the
body. Even if they were alive when the deceased had died. It was a way of claiming property. The
Chinese would bury the dead in bronze vessels. Egyptians were buried underground and, famously,
the great pyramids of Egypt. But this was mainly for the fabulously wealthy. For the more common
of the Egyptians, however, a grave was usually the final resting place. (Mark, Burial ) The Romans
practiced burying the dead during the night as to not disturb the activities of the normal city life.
The tradition they used, was that they buried the body on the outside of the city walls in order to
maintain the boundary between the living and the dead. Even when cremation was used, the ashes
could not be buried within the city. The ashes either gathered into an urn, or interred in a tomb.
Romans thought that funerary practices were so important, that they paid money monthly to make
sure their funeral rites would be performed in accordance with tradition, and their status in the
community. (Mark,

Symbolic Meaning Model
Social media is now home to symbolic modeling. An advantage to symbolic modeling in that it
can send information to an infinite amount of people in different locations in no time (Bandura,
2005). People will film themselves physically or verbally abusing other individuals while others
just watch and encourage them. While they know it is wrong they do nothing to help these
people and in a sense are helping to victimize these individuals that are being abused. There are
also fights in comment sections and the general saying is that it is online so what could it hurt?
Thousands of people watch and read these comments all day. People can just hangout and observe
the way others live there life and don t say a word. As young children begin to read... Show more

This is significant because of the different beliefs system each country has about themselves and
how it is passed on to its members. Members learn from the community or by themselves.
Observations and morals are affected by culture as each group has different set of values they
live by. In addition there are individualistic people in collective cultures and collectivism in
individualistic cultures (Bandura, 2002). What does this mean for theory? That it will have
different applications and will take some learning on its own to understand where people are
coming from. You can read about a culture, listen to stories but nothing will replace actually
living and interacting. In order to understand why people believe the way they do it is beneficial
to learn from a social perspective and become submerged in different cultures to gain a better
understanding of customs, religious acts, and the systems these groups have in place is
completely beneficial to a counselor. Conclusion Social learning theory has many facets that do
not have to deal primarily with observational learning. It now deals with the cognitions people
have and how they see themselves. The use of media is starting to expand to a more global
perspective with the invention of social media sites. This means people do not have to directly
witness behaviors they can now witness them on a screen at any given time. People use modeling
for both behaviors and language skills.

Ailurus Fulgens Research Paper
Red Panda
Ailurus fulgens
Madison Gee
August 24, 2016
Background Information The red panda, classified as Ailurus fulgens, is a mammal and the only
living member of its family, Ailuridae. Red pandas are native to high altitude temperate forests,
such as the eastern Himalayas and Burma, as well as parts of Nepal, India, and Tibet. The
subspecies Ailurus fulgens fulgens can be found in Nepal and India, while the other, Ailurus
fulgens styani, is native to China. There are few differences between the two subspecies; Ailurus
fulgens styani is slightly larger and has stronger teeth. The first known account of the red panda
took place in a 13th century scroll in China, while the first westerner to document the species was
French zoologist FrГ©dГ©ric Cuvier in 1825. Many believe that the name panda was derived from

They have evolved to be able to survive in their habitats, with coarse, reddish brown fur that
blends in with the moss and white lichens that cover the branches of the fir trees they live in.
The underside of their bodies is covered in dark fur that helps camouflage them in the canopy of
the trees at night. This thick fur covers the soles of their feet as well. The red panda is slightly
larger than a domestic cat, but its tail can extend to up to 23 inches long. The tail is used for
balance when moving in the trees and as a source of warmth on cold nights. Red pandas bone
structure also gives them advantages in their habitat. It is one of the few climbing animals that is
able to rotate its ankles when climbing headfirst down trees. It also shares the same modified wrist
bone that giant pandas have, which aids them in grabbing the bamboo they eat. Its curved claws

The Arab Spring During The Middle East And North African...
The Arab Spring brought revolutionary changes to the Middle East and North African region s
authoritarian republics while bypassing its autocratic monarchies. The monarchical exceptionalism
that has allowed these states to remain intact is due to a set of three overlapping factors crosscutting
coalitions, hydrocarbon rents, and foreign patronage. Collectively, these factors explain why most
of the royal autocracies never experienced widespread protest.
The eight Arab monarchies Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the Persian Gulf states of Bahrain,
Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE hold near absolute power. According to the Gause article, none
of the states qualify as constitutional kingships in which the enthroned incumbent exercises only
ceremonial influence while an elected parliamentary government makes policy. The region s kings
and emirs not only reign but they also rule. They are the lead decision makers in naming cabinets,
determining major domestic and foreign policies, controlling the state s coercive apparatus, and
allowing parliaments and judiciaries limited authority (Gause). According to Gause, the first
element of the strategic explanation for monarchical exceptionalism is one that links the historical
legacy of domestic choices with a permissive international environment. The majority of the
monarchies have used the tool of crosscutting coalitions thereby linking alliances of different social
constituencies to the ruling family. In general, dictators cannot

Hybrid vehicles are striking the scene in a positive way. They are becoming the choice vehicle
for many buyers. Hybrids are fashionable in both style and status. With more consumers being
focused on the ongoing problem of air pollution, it is not a surprise they are drawn to hybrid
vehicle models (Why Hybrids are the vehicles of choice these days, n.d). Hybrids are easier on
the environment as well as one s wallet. The fact that they are designed to be kind to the
environment is getting the attention of many consumers, businesses and governments. The hybrid
car is something of mixed origin or composition by definition. A hybrid vehicle is one that
functions with the use of both gasoline engine and electric engine. The gasoline engine is smaller
than conventional vehicles, allowing the electric motor to compensate with energy. A high
voltage battery charges the electric motor when the car is parked. The hybrid vehicles can be
operated using either of the engines or both at the same time. Therefore, it uses less gas. Hybrids
also offer a quiet ride. Many people purchased hybrid cars to save money from the increasingly
high price of gasoline. As the cost of gas increases so does the demand on hybrid vehicles. Although

In The Canterbury Tales, the Wife of Bath gives an in depth look on her life and understanding
on the world as she perceives it. During her Prologue, we learn that what she calls experience
stems from her first three marriages, but during her last two there is a shift in power. The Wife of
Bath demonstrates her understanding and power throughout her first three marriages both
physically and emotionally and the contrast of her lack of control in her last two, thus revealing
the true meaning behind what she believes is experience during these marriages. The Wife of Bath

The integration of Chaucer s dual persona is important in showing her immediate appearance and
how her character develops in her Prologue and Tale.
The Wife of Bath begins the Prologue declaring, Experience, though noon auctoritee / Were in
this world, is right ynogh for me / To speke of wo that is in mariage (GP 1 3). She had her first
marriage at the age of twelve, an important key in Chaucer s usage of age to show how it affects
the amount of control one can have in a relationship. She also gives a brief explanation of why
she marries these five men by saying Blessed be God, that I have wedded fyve; / (Of whiche I ...
the beste, / Bothe of here nether purs and of here cheste.) (WP 44 46) By saying this, the Wife
makes it known that throughout her marriages that money and sex have been important factors. It
is in her Prologue that she begins to use biblical allusions. She mentions King Solomon and
Abraham, justifying her five marriages by saying that many of the religious greats had several
wives. By comparing herself to these religious figures, Allison wants to make it clear that she has
enough authority to dictate the validity of marriage. This authority was given to her by God just as
it was given to the fathers of Christianity, and in addition to being blessed with authority she was
given sexuality. There is a spiritual connection between

Indi The Architecture Of Community
1. Introduction
A City is not an accident but the result of coherent vision and aims.
Leon Krier, The Architecture of Community
India is moving towards fast paced economic growth. After India entered Open Market Operations
under the leadership of Prime Minister P.V. Narsimha Rao, economic policies endured lots of
opportunities for foreign direct investment further offering people new windows of employment
and growth of the nation overall. In the reports of McKinsey s India s Urban awakening, it has been
mentioned that many countries are facing problems of aging population whereas India
comparatively has a young and growing population which is a potential demographic advantage .
For this advantage to work wonders, India needs urban centers with better transportation,
infrastructural facilities and housing. In the very same report of McKinsey, it said that the urban
economy will provide 85 percent of total revenue, which will finance development nationwide .
Thus report of McKinsey indirectly states that cities are the engines of growth, hence with better
transportation system and infrastructure the urban development will enhance at a faster pace.
Public transportation takes a special place in city s smooth functioning, since it offers mobility
and access to people in accomplishing their daily tasks. Technological advancement and rise in
incomes have made people to rely more on private mode of transport due to poor services by public
transport agencies in India.

The Charge Of The Light Brigade, By Dylan Thomas
The Fight of the Inevitable It is impractical to contradict the inevitability of death, but no one
begins to think of that until they are an elder or at a point in their life where their life is in
jeopardy. However, it is said that people must not die in vain and that they should fight for their
life, whether it is physically in a battle or mentally when on your deathbed. Both The Charge of
the Light Brigade by Alfred, Lord Tennyson and Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night by
Dylan Thomas depict a similar theme of mortality and how it is inevitable. Also, both poets add a

An Analysis Of Medea And The King Of Corinth
Throughout the play, Medea, Medea proves that knowledge can destroy. She is surrounded by
powerful men, but uses her intelligence as her weapon to get what she wants: revenge on Jason, her
husband. She shows that physical power may not be the ultimate power that one may have, but that
intellectual power can destroy what one may hold close to them. In the play, Kreon, the king of
Corinth, holds his children to a higher importance than his country; Jason, Medeas husband, values
his children and their status in society; and Aigeus, shows that having children would bring him
great happiness. Medea is able to figure out what is most important to these three men to
manipulate and cause revenge on Jason, who betrayed his vows to Medea. This eventually
causes the murder of royalty as well as Jason and Medea s sons. Little does Jason know that the
revenge Medea takes on him is total, as his sons, which are his legacy, are dead. Also, no one
would want to marry Jason because Medea s on the loose, and can go after any woman that
would pursue Jason. As Medea said, For those children [Jason] had from me he will never see
alive again, nor will he on his new bride beget another child, for she is to be forced to die a most
terrible death by these my poisons. Let no one think me a weak one, feeble spirited, a stay at
home, but rather just the opposite, one who can hurt my enemies and help my friends (Medea, 787

Integrated into the Permanent Collection at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Pieter Brueghel the
Younger 1620 s painting Return from the Inn, illustrates an outdoor winter scenery of rustic peasant
life in early seventeenth century Belgium. Born in 1564 or 1565 in Brussels, Belgium, Pieter
Brueghel the Youngerwas a Flemish painter best known for being the oldest son of the notable
sixteenth century Netherlandish painter Pieter Brueghel the Elder and Mayken Coecke van Aelstv
(Artnet, 2016). Following the passing of both of his parents, Brueghel the Younger and his siblings
Marie and Jan went to live with their grandmother Mayken Verhulst, a reputable painter of
watercolors. It was her who acquainted Brueghel the Younger to painting. Around 1578, the family
relocated to Antwerp, Belgium, where Brueghel the Younger settled down and started a family.
Also during this time, Brueghel the Younger was practicing painting in the studio of a landscape
painter, Gillis van Coninxloo (Artnet, 2016).
The flourishing art market of this era and the high demand of Pieter Brueghel the Elder s
paintings drove his son to dedicate his time to recreating a body of low priced and inspired
replicas of his father s peasant scenes works (ArtUK, 2016). Akin to his father, he painted
sceneries, religious matters, axioms and small town landscapes. The paintings were sold for local

Language Acquisition And Language Development
Introduction Our native language consists of a set of phonemes that we learn to discriminate
during language acquisition. Infants are born with perceptual sensitivity for phonemes outside of
their parents native language, which is a result of the fact that they have not yet practiced nor
learned the phonetic rules of their language. These feature detectors for phonemes that are not
used during language development will atrophy and the native phoneme feature detectors are
retained (Eimas, 1975). For example, in English we do not easily discriminate between the
voiceless p (such as when it comes in the middle of a word like in spit ) and aspirated p (which
occurs when at the beginning of a word like in pit ) (Harbeck, 2015). In other languages, this
subtle difference actually changes the meaning of a word; Mandarin, Thai, and Hindi for example,
use the voiceless and aspirated p as entirely different phonemes. Thus, we would expect a speaker
of one of these languages to have a good ability to distinguish these phonemes in a task, while an
English speaker may have some difficulty. The mismatch negativity measure could provide an
interesting insight into this phenomenon. Other studies have used a similar approach in order to
test the ability of phoneme discrimination. In a study by Diaz et al. (2008), they wanted to
determine what factor influenced the ability of some non native speakers to master the phonetic
nuances of their second language, while others never master these

DREAM OF THE LEADER
Equal Dreams Pursuing inclusive futures
What s your approach to retail?
I keep my eyes and ears open to observe our customers and turn those insights into How do we
serve better them? When you focus on the consumers perspective and what can be done for them
rather than just on how to move goods that changes everything.
How do you capture and interpret customer insights?
We start by taking note of memes within popular culture with things like TV serials, cinema,
songs, etc. We ask ourselves Why is this getting popular? What s driving this? because there s a
reason why these specific stories have captured the imagination of the people. We believe since
these stories resonate widely that it s reflective of the dreams people share.
What is the role of business in helping individuals achieve their dreams?
An organisation is a collection of many individuals, with their own dreams, coming together to
work on a common vision. It then becomes our responsibility as managers and human beings to
ensure that we start asking ourselves how do we increase their satisfaction and thinking capacity it s
not just about economic output.
You ve mention that dreaming is the essence of

What Is The Purpose Of Teenage Rebellion
The purpose of teenage rebellion is for young adults to show their independence from their
parents and authority. Adolescence is a time between being a child and an adult. People speak to
you like an adult but you aren t able to do the same because you are seen as a child. Many
teenagers are trying to figure out their place in their life and find themselves. Adolescence is a
time for growth. During this time many teenagers learn that what they once thought was a good
idea really isnt. And that their likes and interests will definitely change as they get older. The first
purpose of teenage rebellion is for teens to establish a sense of independence. In The Existential

The Benefits Of STEM Classes
So how can we help students to be more prepared for college? One way is to help encourage
students to pursue STEM careers. Doesn t AP classes already do that for students already? One
study done by Joseph Rosenstein shows that we are actually making too big of a rush for students
to take AP classes. They studied this with one AP class, Calculus. They claim that students, for the
most part, are not using the AP class to assist them in college. So one method to help students
prepare for college is to actually decelerate the amount of AP classes they re taking. Their study
showed that 40% of students that qualify for college credit (6.25% of all students that take the AP
Calculus course), are not actually using that credit for college. They... Show more content on

In fact, 89 percent said educational trips had a positive, lasting impact on their education and
career because the trips made them more engaged, intellectually curious and interested in and
out of school (NEA). So to help our students be more interested in what they want to do in school
and for students pursuing the STEM field would be more interested as well. I believe that
conducting more field trips would assist students to becoming more successful. Because with
the previous study of AP courses, they don t fulfill the jobs in the STEM field, so doing this by
making students much more aware and involved in the STEM field would encourage them more
to pursue that field. Even if the school can t afford to go on field trips all the time, they can still
have real scientist, mathematicians, and also engineers come in to share their work with the
class. Which I believe will take less money, time, and effort to plan and execute. How will this
help the STEM field? I believe doing more field trips and also having more guest speakers come
in will want more students to pursue the STEM field. The STEM field as a whole is growing
rapidly, and we will need more students and more people to fulfill those positions. So how will
this help the students when they go to college? How will these activities help the students more
than what a rigorous, AP course can do? As I have said before, the main problem comes from the
students lack of understanding of how the field

The Rise Of Consumerism During World War II
In today s times, Americans are never too far from a drive through fast food restaurant or a
shopping mall. Products such as televisions, microwaves, and cars are necessities in homes in 2014.
America was not always the consumerist nation it is now. With thousands of American servicemen
returning home after World War II, the United Stateswas filled with an energy that had long been
repressed by an economic depression in the 1930 s. By the 1950 s, Americans were ready to move
on from the war and start families. Thousands of jobs were created to accommodate all those
retuning home, which caused the United States economy to flourish. Since more people were
working and receiving higher wages, they were eager to start spending. Because of this,
consumerismskyrocketed in the 1950 s. Along with positive post war attitudes, suburbanization and
the development of new products can also be attributed to the rise of consumerism during this
period.
As many American men fought in World War II, the United States economy had slowly started to
pick itself up after a devastating crash in 1929 that lasted over a decade. Most men were drafted
into the war, which left many jobs open back in the States. To fill these jobs women and African
Americans were recruited to fill them, thus making unemployment nearly nonexistent during this
period. After World War II had ended, Americans came home with a determination to keep the
recovery going. A key way to achieve this was to spend money.

Benefits Of Universal Health Care
Should healthcare be universal to all citizen of a nation? What is Universal health care? According
to the World Health organization (WHO) Universal health coverage (UHC) means that all people
and communities can, use the promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative health
services they need, of sufficient quality to be effective, while also ensuring that the use of these
services does not expose the user to financial hardship (Organization, 2013). Universal Health care
should be provided to all citizens because of the mass benefit we can receive. Universal Health

City of God Review
October 10, 2010 St. Augustine s work, The City of God, portrays the Roman virtue and describes it
s affect on the manners of the Romans. Though the people did not worship God, St. Augustine
points out that God still blessed them by increasing their dominion. In this text, Augustine finds
many aspects of the ethos Roman Empireboth admirable and problematic. He does this in a way
that gives the reader a better understanding on his views of how to live a life dedicated to God.
He also shows the problems of living for other men rather than living for the righteousness of God.
Augustine speaks of the manners of the ancient Romans, and shows in what sense it was due to the
virtue of the Romans themselves, and in how far to the counsel of... Show more content on

This shows the greatness with being pure in all ways and waiting for the good things in life and
not being greedy. I really think this is Augustine way to show respect towards the pure and
admire what they have done for God. In To What Profit the Romans Carried on Wars, and How
Much They Contributed to the Well Being of Those Whom They Conquered, Augustine wrote
that humans, because mortal and are only on earth for so long, shouldn t be concerned over
whose government a dying man lives, if they who govern do not force him to impiety and
iniquity? The Romans tried to impose laws and regulations on nations they took over but they
themselves did not live by these. If everyone was under the Roman Empire, than everyone in that
empire should have the same privileges and rights. It does no good, according to Augustine, to do
this. Take away outward show, and what are all men after all but men? But even though the
perversity of the age should permit that all the better men should be more highly honored than
others, neither thus should human honor be held at a great price, for it is smoke which has no
weight. Men that may not seem as if they have accomplished much greatness in the eyes of other

The Road Not Taken Metaphors
Decision making is a common component in everyday life. When a person makes a decision, they
consider their options, reach a resolution, then commit to them. But as time passes, there are those
who regret their choice and wish to go back to change their decision, while some people are
satisfied with their chosen path. In Robert Frost s poem The RoadNot Taken , the author describes a
decision making process between traveling down one road or the other. Throughout the poem,
Frost uses several poetic devices, including metaphor and enjambment, to help bring his theme
across: it s important to make the best possible decision because it can only be made once, in a
way that encourages readers to think before they act.
Metaphor is one of the poetic devices Frost used in the poem to help readers understand the bigger
picture of life and opportunities. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yellow is the color of optimism and caution, which is, generally speaking, what many people
think of life. Having the wood being described as yellow, encourages readers to be cautious with
life in general. But by adding two roads diverged , it specifically encourages readers to be
cautious when they have reached a fork in life. In addition, the two roads diverged portrays the
opportunities life gives a person. Considering how he only has one chance to select a road, the
narrator must be careful and make the best decision. Not to mention, the poem takes place in nature,
which is a metaphor that represents how the struggle between great options are natural and
inevitable, just like nature. Because it s natural, one cannot go against nature s force and undo their
decision, like the weather undoing the rain, which is impossible. Through metaphors, Frost s
comparison between the woods and life opportunities makes the audience comprehend the bigger
picture and convey that it would be best to make the optimal decision and not have to regret it

Andrew believed that the upper class should not show extravagant displays of their wealth
simply because they can. He believed that the first thing a wealthy man must do is to meet the

left over money should be used for public works to better the community by that person s own

Plate Tectonic Analysis
The plate tectonic theory states that rigid plates slowly ride on the molten mantle. The boundaries
between the plates are known to serve as an important mineral resource. Three types of tectonic
plate exist: convergent, divergent and transform boundaries. A convergent boundary represents two
plates moving towards each other mostly forming a subduction. When two plates move away from
each other, a divergent boundary is formed. In transform boundaries, the plates move laterally past
each other (Mission, 2016).
Within the mid ocean ridges forming a divergent boundary, a zone of low pressure is formed
allowing magma to rise to the surface. Potentially valuable metals are present in the hot magma.
The valuable deposits are further concentrated by leaching of metals from water permeating the
rocks (Mission, 2016). The water circulating through the rocks is heated by the magma forming
hydrothermal fluids. The hot hydrothermal fluids form black smokers covering the sea floor and
are rich in sulfur containing minerals, for instance, galena, a lead sulfide, and pyrite, an iron sulfide
(Mission, 2016). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The volcanoes heat up water percolating through the rocks and the dissolved minerals are carried
to surrounding rocks. This kind of deposit represents the majority of world s copper supply
(Mission, 2016). Mineral veins and pegmatite are formed once the magma cools. An example of a
mineral vein is the Mother Lode of the Sierra Nevada containing gold deposits. Once volcanic
mountains from subduction erode, portions of silver, gold or other metals may flow into streams
and their accumulation forms placer deposits. Other resources are the Ophiolites, a rich source of
chromium which is formed from portions of oceanic crust emplaced on continents after subduction

The Causes And Impacts Of The Cultural Revolution
The Cultural Revolution (1966~1976) was a sociopolitical movement that was both ideological
and radical in nature. It was a rectification movement that sought to remold the values and ideas of
society and to create a new vision for China, by Mao Zedong. Mao: the Chairman of the
Communist Party of China, was determined to forestall the rebirth of the bureaucratic class and its
practice of careerism. Within his revolution, Mao initiated purges in order to get rid of Chinas old
capitalist tendencies, and to further instill his Chairman of the Communist Party of China after

As a result of the extensive farming and industrial work, steel production dramatically increased
and several structures such as roads and hospitals improved the lives of the Chinese people.
Despite the great effort during this period, the Great Leap Forward had failed as the workers in
the industries were common, ordinary people who had no expertise in machines which led to a lot
of useless iron being made. Furthermore, as many as 30 million people died due to numerous
reasons such as the unpropitious climate conditions, pressure to meet the standards of the
authorities, and mass starvation. The failure of this period led to Mao Zedong being dismissed from
his rank as the State Chairman of RPC, although he still kept his title as the Chairman of the CCP.
In order to combat economic disorder caused by the Great Leap Program, Liu Shaoqi attained his
rank as the new Chairman of RPC while Deng Xiaoping became the CPC General Secretary. In the

eliminating elements of Chinese culture during the Cultural Revolution to foster a new culture,

you scale it. In short, more pixels doesn t mean you ll achieve higher productivity.
As for gamers, you need to know that between an ultra wide monitor or a 4K, the latter demands a
more powerful computer in order to fully enjoy the content.
With an ultrawide monitor, you won t need to upgrade your rig to enjoy the smooth gameplay
experience. Whereas with a 4K monitor; video games will look more stunning, but ... Show more

As for gamers, multiple monitors can be annoying for long gaming sessions since you ll have to
constantly move your head to enjoy everything that s happening on two or three different screens.
On the other hand, ultrawide monitor won t cause this kind of problem as a single curved screen
offers enough viewing space without the hassle of maneuvering your head all the time.
Also, unlike a multi monitor setup, ultrawide monitors will provide an immersive experience on a
giant single screen and that too without any bezels.
Moreover, you ll also get lots of features in an ultrawide gaming monitor like G Sync, Free Sync,
Gameplus Technology, Flicker Free technology, and gaming mode in the adjustment settings.
Combined, all of these features will give you a more enjoyable gaming experience than a dual or
triple monitor setup.
In short, I think buying an ultrawide unit is better than a multiple monitor setup for productivity
and gaming.
Even if it costs a bit more, the advantages of an ultrawide monitor give it an edge over a dual or
triple monitor setup.
Have you noticed that everyone is demanding for features like big screen, higher resolution, low
refresh rate and amazing picture quality in an affordable Monitor?
Up until now, 1080p IPS widescreens were the standard monitor for regular usage and gaming. But
today, you can find a

Nightlife In The South Of France Essay
Even though it may seem that a quiet town in the South of France would tend to be a little dull for
those more interested in the fast paced nightlife, visiting Antibes might prove to be quite an
enjoyable experience in itself just yet. Located along the French Riviera, Antibes sits directly on
the water and is positioned in between the familiar French cities of Nice and Cannes. As much
beautiful scenery as there is to see throughout town during the daylight hours, there are just as
many things to keep you entertained at dark. So if partying runs through your veins and you
happen to be in the vicinity looking for a good time, there are a few places you should definitely
visit. We conducted an extensive investigation on the most popular and... Show more content on

The average age group that frequents the Irish Pub ranges from twenty to fifty year old men and
women. However, you will usually see more men than women at this bar. They play Irish music
including U2 and often have live bands to enjoy. The Irish Pub is a fairly large bar with four rooms.
There is the typical, narrow bar area including the stage, another room where you can sit and eat,
and two entertainment rooms upstairs that contain pool tables, television screens, video games, and
even their own bars. You can visit the Irish Pub every day of the week.
* Good service. Good munchies. Cool lads. J J J J
If you are searching for a little more excitement, then walk down the road and around the corner
to Rue d Aguillion where you will find La Gaffe. This bar targets a younger, more hip crowd of
locals and tourists, where English is the prevalent language, and the regular twenty to thirty
something scene often squeezes too tightly into the two rooms that assemble the bar. La Gaffe is
adorned with contemporary decoration, almost as striking and smooth as the people that frequent
this trendy hot spot. On Sunday, however, it is occupied by more of an older generation. They
come to feast on the variety of food La Gaffe serves including: Yorkshire pudding, chicken
tortillas, steak and kidney pie, lasagna, fish and chips, Hawaiian burgers and more. They are open

Shaun Callarman s Into The Wild
Into The Wild was a tremendous story which Shaun Callarman did not have many positive things
to say about Chris McCandless, the main character. He went on this adventure to find out what
life is all about in his own eyes. He wanted to see how different living in the wild really was
compared to society because he was not satisfied with his living arrangements and household. Shaun
s quote says that he thinks Chris McCandless was bright and ignorant at the same time. He had no
common sense, and he had no business going into Alaskawith his Romantic silliness. He made a
lot of mistakes based on arrogance. I don t admire him at all for his courage nor his noble ideas.
Really, I think he was just plain crazy, shows that Shaun believes Chris had no common sense in
his doing for leaving society for the wild. I agree with Callarman s position for thinking he had no
common sense and that he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think he just wanted to pursue life in a different way. Chris was not seeing life the way anyone
else was so he decided to brush off into the wild and be free on his own. Though he did not survive
he was still a very bright, arrogant human being. Shaun Callarman states, He had no common
sense, and he had no business going into Alaska with his Romantic silliness. Chris knew going
into the wild that he did not have much survival skills but that did not stop him from doing what
he wanted to do because he did not care about society and was just completely over everything
which was why he made the move to the wilderness. This clearly shows us that Chris did not have
much common sense. If he had better survival skills and common sense he probably would have
known not to eat that poisonous berry. It was his dream to be in the wild and he decided to
pursue it. I respect his decisions and i personally believe it was a good decision other than the fact
of him dying. He made the infinitive decision to do all of this so why stop

In June 1996, the airline purchased its fourth Boeing 737 aircraft and added service to the new market of Regina. In August that year, Saskatoon was added. In June 1997, Abbotsford Fraser Valley was added, making WestJet the only scheduled carrier to operate at that airport. March 1999 saw the addition of the two new destinations of Thunder Bay and Prince George, and in September 1999, WestJet added Grande Prairie to its service area. WestJet met a major business goal when, in July 1999, it completed its initial public offering of 2.5 million common shares. The share price at closing was Cdn$1 0. It was an exciting day for all WestJetters, representing the achievement of a major goal and raising the necessary capital for expansion of the company in the coming years. The capital raised from the offering, Cdn$25 million before post closing adjustments, would be used for the purchase of additional aircraft, as well as the building of new head office and hangar facilities in Calgary, in order to meet the needs of the company s expanding workforce. • 3. The Stamp Act, Boston Massacre And The Boston Tea Party The American Revolution, one of the most significant events in our world s history, has established a huge impact on not only life back in the eighteenth and nineteenth century but our society today. The Acts of Parliament highly benefited the British but did not afford those same rights to the colonists until the formal issuing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776, in which colonial freedom was granted. The most controversial issue is which group caused it; a result of propaganda by the colonists. Multiple acts and protests contributed to this war, three influential ones being the Stamp Act, Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. One of the major causes was the Stamp Act in 1765. This was issued by Parliament to tax every piece of printed paper colonists used. Other documents such as newspapers, playing cards and any form of printed publication were also taxed. Money collected by these taxations were used to pay costs of defending the American frontier. Colonists viewed this act of Parliament as means to raise money without legislative approval. ВЁReactions to the Stamp Act included riots and boycotts of British goods. Crowds calling themselves Sons of Liberty prevented stamped papers from being unloaded from British ships.ВЁ Another organization called the Daughters of Liberty was formed to promote production of homemade cloth, not imported by the British. Nine colonies met in New York City to create a statement in which the Stamp Act would be repealed. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Theseus And The Minotaur There are many examples of heroes throughout history and in story books that convey great messages, but what makes your leaders heroes? There are many attributes that make a hero but there are three main areas. To be a hero, one must be willing to make many sacrifices, be humble and not expect anything from the actions, and make positive changes. To be a hero means to sacrificesomething for someone else no matter the circumstances or dangers. An example of this is in the myth Theseus and the Minotaur. It gives a great example of sacrifice and heroism. Powerful king Minos of Crete demands Athenian women and men every year to feed to the Minotaur. When Theseus heard about this, he was not happy. He took the place of one of the sacrificed men and went to the labyrinth of the Minotaur to try and kill the beast himself. Theseus then expressed his feelings of frustration by saying saying, When it is time to send the next tribute, I will go as one of them and I vow that it is the last time the Minotaur will be fed with the flesh of any of our people. Theseus was strong and was willing to put himself in danger for the safety of his people. Not many people have the courage to sacrifice themselves. Parents make sacrifices every day. Think of how hard mothers or fathers works to make money, to keep the kids happy, to feed them, to clean up after everyone, to get their kids where they what to go. My mom makes sacrifices everyday. According to the U.S. Department of Labor the misclassification of employees as independent contractors presents one of the most serious problems facing affected workers, employers and the entire economy. The Marketing Of Buzz Marketing The traditional methods to marketing a product has been wearing off for quite some time, and marketers are seeking for new ways to create awareness of new products. The era of technology has taken over and for that reason the traditional methods are failing in generating new revenue. Marketers have been investing a great deal of time in more nontraditional marketingtechniques, like buzz marketing. Buzz marketing has been increasing faster than any other area of alternative marketing. The power of buzz marketing is far more effective than any traditional marketing methods. It is a much more effective technique because of the sources, which are the customers themselves who are very reliable. Another reason for its effectiveness is that consumers like the power of reviewing products and being able to share with other buyers. Many exhibit an innate desire for social interaction and are concerned about the welfare of others (Clow Baack, 2014, p.281). The purchasers likes being involved with the product and having their opinions value. Buzz marketing even with the abundance of benefits is not effective, if the product is not worth the buzz. • 7. What Are The Mummies Of Ancient Culture Mummies of ancient cultures: facts before fiction For centuries, people have been fascinated with death. Many questions are asked about what happens after we die, and these questions may forever remain unanswered. As well as beliefs, everyone has an idea of what they wat to happen to them after that die. You may want to be cremated and have your ashes spread across an open meadow, or you may just want to be put in a coffin, and laid into the ground. As it was hundreds of years ago with different beliefs, it is the same today. Different religions, different Gods, and different ways of thinking. But how exactly are they different? When people think of ancient burial, they think back to ancient Egyptians. And what is the reason they are remembered... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the Mayan culture, one would often be buried beneath their own house! The rest of the family would then abandon the house so they would not disturb the dead. Much mourning was held for those who had passed. China and ancient Egypt are quite similar! The Chinese would have their favorite foods buried with them, so they could accompany the soul in the afterlife. (Bradley) Artifacts that belonged to the deceased would also be buried with them. But the Chinese practiced one ritual that many other ancient cultures did not: servants and concubines be buried with the body. Even if they were alive when the deceased had died. It was a way of claiming property. The Chinese would bury the dead in bronze vessels. Egyptians were buried underground and, famously, the great pyramids of Egypt. But this was mainly for the fabulously wealthy. For the more common of the Egyptians, however, a grave was usually the final resting place. (Mark, Burial ) The Romans practiced burying the dead during the night as to not disturb the activities of the normal city life. The tradition they used, was that they buried the body on the outside of the city walls in order to maintain the boundary between the living and the dead. Even when cremation was used, the ashes could not be buried within the city. The ashes either gathered into an urn, or interred in a tomb. Romans thought that funerary practices were so important, that they paid money monthly to make sure their funeral rites would be performed in accordance with tradition, and their status in the community. An advantage to symbolic modeling in that it can send information to an infinite amount of people in different locations in no time (Bandura, 2005). People will film themselves physically or verbally abusing other individuals while others just watch and encourage them. While they know it is wrong they do nothing to help these people and in a sense are helping to victimize these individuals that are being abused. This is significant because of the different beliefs system each country has about themselves and how it is passed on to its members. Members learn from the community or by themselves. Observations and morals are affected by culture as each group has different set of values they live by. In addition there are individualistic people in collective cultures and collectivism in individualistic cultures (Bandura, 2002). What does this mean for theory? That it will have different applications and will take some learning on its own to understand where people are coming from. You can read about a culture, listen to stories but nothing will replace actually living and interacting. In order to understand why people believe the way they do it is beneficial to learn from a social perspective and become submerged in different cultures to gain a better understanding of customs, religious acts, and the systems these groups have in place is completely beneficial to a counselor. The use of media is starting to expand to a more global perspective with the invention of social media sites. This means people do not have to directly witness behaviors they can now witness them on a screen at any given time. People use modeling for both behaviors and language skills. ... Red pandas are native to high altitude temperate forests, such as the eastern Himalayas and Burma, as well as parts of Nepal, India, and Tibet. The subspecies Ailurus fulgens fulgens can be found in Nepal and India, while the other, Ailurus fulgens styani, is native to China. There are few differences between the two subspecies; Ailurus fulgens styani is slightly larger and has stronger teeth. The first known account of the red panda took place in a 13th century scroll in China, while the first westerner to document the species was French zoologist FrГ©dГ©ric Cuvier in 1825. • 10. The Arab Spring During The Middle East And North African... The Arab Spring brought revolutionary changes to the Middle East and North African region s authoritarian republics while bypassing its autocratic monarchies. The monarchical exceptionalism that has allowed these states to remain intact is due to a set of three overlapping factors crosscutting coalitions, hydrocarbon rents, and foreign patronage. Collectively, these factors explain why most of the royal autocracies never experienced widespread protest. The eight Arab monarchies Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the Persian Gulf states of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE hold near absolute power. According to the Gause article, none of the states qualify as constitutional kingships in which the enthroned incumbent exercises only ceremonial influence while an elected parliamentary government makes policy. The region s kings and emirs not only reign but they also rule. They are the lead decision makers in naming cabinets, determining major domestic and foreign policies, controlling the state s coercive apparatus, and allowing parliaments and judiciaries limited authority (Gause). According to Gause, the first element of the strategic explanation for monarchical exceptionalism is one that links the historical legacy of domestic choices with a permissive international environment. The majority of the monarchies have used the tool of crosscutting coalitions thereby linking alliances of different social constituencies to the ruling family. In general, dictators cannot ... The hybrid car is something of mixed origin or composition by definition. A hybrid vehicle is one that functions with the use of both gasoline engine and electric engine. The gasoline engine is smaller than conventional vehicles, allowing the electric motor to compensate with energy. A high voltage battery charges the electric motor when the car is parked. The hybrid vehicles can be operated using either of the engines or both at the same time. Therefore, it uses less gas. Hybrids also offer a quiet ride. During her Prologue, we learn that what she calls experience stems from her first three marriages, but during her last two there is a shift in power. The Wife of Bath demonstrates her understanding and power throughout her first three marriages both physically and emotionally and the contrast of her lack of control in her last two, thus revealing the true meaning behind what she believes is experience during these marriages. The Wife of Bath s authority can be viewed as realist when paralleled to the chain of being because of the emotional control she has over her previous husbands and the simple fact that she... The Wife of Bath begins the Prologue declaring, Experience, though noon auctoritee / Were in this world, is right ynogh for me / To speke of wo that is in mariage (GP 1 3). She had her first marriage at the age of twelve, an important key in Chaucer s usage of age to show how it affects the amount of control one can have in a relationship. She mentions King Solomon and Abraham, justifying her five marriages by saying that many of the religious greats had several wives. By comparing herself to these religious figures, Allison wants to make it clear that she has enough authority to dictate the validity of marriage. This authority was given to her by God just as it was given to the fathers of Christianity, and in addition to being blessed with authority she was given sexuality. She is surrounded by powerful men, but uses her intelligence as her weapon to get what she wants: revenge on Jason, her husband. She shows that physical power may not be the ultimate power that one may have, but that intellectual power can destroy what one may hold close to them. In the play, Kreon, the king of Corinth, holds his children to a higher importance than his country; Jason, Medeas husband, values his children and their status in society; and Aigeus, shows that having children would bring him great happiness. Medea is able to figure out what is most important to these three men to manipulate and cause revenge on Jason, who betrayed his vows to Medea. This eventually causes the murder of royalty as well as Jason and Medea s sons. Little does Jason know that the revenge Medea takes on him is total, as his sons, which are his legacy, are dead. • 20. Language Acquisition And Language Development Introduction Our native language consists of a set of phonemes that we learn to discriminate during language acquisition. Infants are born with perceptual sensitivity for phonemes outside of their parents native language, which is a result of the fact that they have not yet practiced nor learned the phonetic rules of their language. These feature detectors for phonemes that are not used during language development will atrophy and the native phoneme feature detectors are retained (Eimas, 1975). For example, in English we do not easily discriminate between the voiceless p (such as when it comes in the middle of a word like in spit ) and aspirated p (which occurs when at the beginning of a word like in pit ) (Harbeck, 2015). In other languages, this subtle difference actually changes the meaning of a word; Mandarin, Thai, and Hindi for example, use the voiceless and aspirated p as entirely different phonemes. Thus, we would expect a speaker of one of these languages to have a good ability to distinguish these phonemes in a task, while an English speaker may have some difficulty. The mismatch negativity measure could provide an interesting insight into this phenomenon. Other studies have used a similar approach in order to test the ability of phoneme discrimination. In a study by Diaz et al. (2008), they wanted to determine what factor influenced the ability of some non native speakers to master the phonetic nuances of their second language, while others never master these ... Products such as televisions, microwaves, and cars are necessities in homes in 2014. America was not always the consumerist nation it is now. With thousands of American servicemen returning home after World War II, the United Stateswas filled with an energy that had long been repressed by an economic depression in the 1930 s. By the 1950 s, Americans were ready to move on from the war and start families. Thousands of jobs were created to accommodate all those retuning home, which caused the United States economy to flourish. Since more people were working and receiving higher wages, they were eager to start spending. Because of this, consumerismskyrocketed in the 1950 s. Along with positive post war attitudes, suburbanization and the development of new products can also be attributed to the rise of consumerism during this period. As many American men fought in World War II, the United States economy had slowly started to pick itself up after a devastating crash in 1929 that lasted over a decade. Most men were drafted into the war, which left many jobs open back in the States. To fill these jobs women and African Americans were recruited to fill them, thus making unemployment nearly nonexistent during this period. Having experienced failure in obtaining my goals in the past, now that we are tackling willpower challenges I have been more productive toward my goals. One of the reasons that we tell ourselves that we can t achieve our goals, is because of the many changes that we must make in ourselves and it seems impossible. I can build on this because I have told myself that this will never work but I have had more success now than I have before. When you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. City of God Review October 10, 2010 St. Augustine s work, The City of God, portrays the Roman virtue and describes it s affect on the manners of the Romans. Though the people did not worship God, St. Augustine points out that God still blessed them by increasing their dominion. In this text, Augustine finds many aspects of the ethos Roman Empireboth admirable and problematic. He does this in a way that gives the reader a better understanding on his views of how to live a life dedicated to God. He also shows the problems of living for other men rather than living for the righteousness of God. Augustine speaks of the manners of the ancient Romans, and shows in what sense it was due to the virtue of the Romans themselves, and in how far to the counsel of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This shows the greatness with being pure in all ways and waiting for the good things in life and not being greedy. I really think this is Augustine way to show respect towards the pure and admire what they have done for God. In To What Profit the Romans Carried on Wars, and How Much They Contributed to the Well Being of Those Whom They Conquered, Augustine wrote that humans, because mortal and are only on earth for so long, shouldn t be concerned over whose government a dying man lives, if they who govern do not force him to impiety and iniquity? The Romans tried to impose laws and regulations on nations they took over but they themselves did not live by these. If everyone was under the Roman Empire, than everyone in that empire should have the same privileges and rights. It does no good, according to Augustine, to do this. Take away outward show, and what are all men after all but men? But even though the perversity of the age should permit that all the better men should be more highly honored than others, neither thus should human honor be held at a great price, for it is smoke which has no weight. Men that may not seem as if they have accomplished much greatness in the eyes of other men may have done just the opposite. ...the citizens of so great a country may not seem to themselves to have done anything very great, if, in order to obtain it, they have done some good works or endured some evils, when those men ... • 35. The Road Not Taken Metaphors Decision making is a common component in everyday life. When a person makes a decision, they consider their options, reach a resolution, then commit to them. But as time passes, there are those who regret their choice and wish to go back to change their decision, while some people are satisfied with their chosen path. In Robert Frost s poem The RoadNot Taken , the author describes a decision making process between traveling down one road or the other. Throughout the poem, Frost uses several poetic devices, including metaphor and enjambment, to help bring his theme across: it s important to make the best possible decision because it can only be made once, in a way that encourages readers to think before they act. Metaphor is one of the poetic devices Frost used in the poem to help readers understand the bigger picture of life and opportunities. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yellow is the color of optimism and caution, which is, generally speaking, what many people think of life. Having the wood being described as yellow, encourages readers to be cautious with life in general. But by adding two roads diverged , it specifically encourages readers to be cautious when they have reached a fork in life. In addition, the two roads diverged portrays the opportunities life gives a person. Considering how he only has one chance to select a road, the narrator must be careful and make the best decision. Not to mention, the poem takes place in nature, which is a metaphor that represents how the struggle between great options are natural and inevitable, just like nature. Because it s natural, one cannot go against nature s force and undo their decision, like the weather undoing the rain, which is impossible. Through metaphors, Frost s comparison between the woods and life opportunities makes the audience comprehend the bigger picture and convey that it would be best to make the optimal decision and not have to regret it ... • 39. Plate Tectonic Analysis The plate tectonic theory states that rigid plates slowly ride on the molten mantle. The boundaries between the plates are known to serve as an important mineral resource. Three types of tectonic plate exist: convergent, divergent and transform boundaries. A convergent boundary represents two plates moving towards each other mostly forming a subduction. When two plates move away from each other, a divergent boundary is formed. In transform boundaries, the plates move laterally past each other (Mission, 2016). Within the mid ocean ridges forming a divergent boundary, a zone of low pressure is formed allowing magma to rise to the surface. Potentially valuable metals are present in the hot magma. The valuable deposits are further concentrated by leaching of metals from water permeating the rocks (Mission, 2016). The water circulating through the rocks is heated by the magma forming hydrothermal fluids. The hot hydrothermal fluids form black smokers covering the sea floor and are rich in sulfur containing minerals, for instance, galena, a lead sulfide, and pyrite, an iron sulfide (Mission, 2016). ... This kind of deposit represents the majority of world s copper supply (Mission, 2016). Mineral veins and pegmatite are formed once the magma cools. An example of a mineral vein is the Mother Lode of the Sierra Nevada containing gold deposits. Once volcanic mountains from subduction erode, portions of silver, gold or other metals may flow into streams and their accumulation forms placer deposits. Other resources are the Ophiolites, a rich source of chromium which is formed from portions of oceanic crust emplaced on continents after subduction events (Sharma, ... It was a rectification movement that sought to remold the values and ideas of society and to create a new vision for China, by Mao Zedong. Mao: the Chairman of the Communist Party of China, was determined to forestall the rebirth of the bureaucratic class and its practice of careerism. Within his revolution, Mao initiated purges in order to get rid of Chinas old capitalist tendencies, and to further instill his Chairman of the Communist Party of China after his power weakened from the Great Leap Forward (1958~1962). As a result of the extensive farming and industrial work, steel production dramatically increased and several structures such as roads and hospitals improved the lives of the Chinese people. Despite the great effort during this period, the Great Leap Forward had failed as the workers in the industries were common, ordinary people who had no expertise in machines which led to a lot of useless iron being made. Furthermore, as many as 30 million people died due to numerous reasons such as the unpropitious climate conditions, pressure to meet the standards of the authorities, and mass starvation. The failure of this period led to Mao Zedong being dismissed from his rank as the State Chairman of RPC, although he still kept his title as the Chairman of the CCP. In order to combat economic disorder caused by the Great Leap Program, Liu Shaoqi attained his rank as the new Chairman of RPC while Deng Xiaoping became the CPC General Secretary. In the face of fiasco after the unsuccessful Great Leap Forward, Mao Zedong pursued a course of eliminating elements of Chinese culture during the Cultural Revolution to foster a new culture, which was abortive as it had only distorted China both socially and economically, which was evident through the extensive chaos and technology backwardness it ... Both of them offer a lot of screen space for productivity. But an ultrawide is more recommended for multi tasking. Sure, you can work with multiple applications on a 4K display, but it would be hard to read unless you scale it. In short, more pixels doesn t mean you ll achieve higher productivity. As for gamers, you need to know that between an ultra wide monitor or a 4K, the latter demands a more powerful computer in order to fully enjoy the content.
