Lindsey Land Research Paper
Lindsey Land
In the current society of the United States of America, there was an ample amount of problems. One of
the problems that arose and caused multiply amounts of distress was the rise of wars and terrorists.
The United States of America broke the trust of its by putting itself in worldly situations not
concerning itself and its people. A more perfect society needs to be formed because of the people not
being given what they deserve and what they need. Lindsey Land will be different because it will
appeal to the inner needs of its citizens and give them what they truly deserve. Lindsey Land,
however, does share some of the same characteristics as the United States of America, as in having its
citizens be free and allowing them to voice their own opinions. In this land, it is promised for the
people to prosper in its education system, and for its government to provide and help them along the
way.
For Lindsey Land s education system, it was agreed upon to follow it after Singapore s. In the article

Comparing Disney World And Universal Orlando Studios
There are a lot of theme parks in the world. Some are alike in many ways, and some may not have
anything in common. Theme parks may be world known and others may not be known to many
tourists. Two of the most common parks are in Florida: Disney World and Universal Orlando Studios.
Disney World is unique in a lot of ways. Disney World is made up of a total of 27,258 acres. Just the
resort in Disney is the same size as San Francisco. Disney is expensive, however, it is for the most part
less expensive than Universal Studios. When Disney first opened its doors in 1971 the admission fee
was less than $10. The founder of Disney World is the founder of everything Disney Walter Elias
Disney. Disney has roughly 62,000 employees in 2017, and that doesn t include interns. The yearly
average attendance is 46.5 million in 2017. Disney is definitely one of a kind in a lot of ways. Disney
has four parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. ... Show more

Universal Studios can get pretty expensive with tickets, food, and merchandise. Although price is very
important, people love going there and spending time with their family. There are many people
responsible for Universal, Carl Laemmle is the founder with the most influence. The park has a total
average of 12,000 employees, which is less than Disney s number of employees. Universal Studios

This Work Displays Efficient Planning Of Work Tasks, Which
This work displays efficient planning of work tasks, which is further categorized to facilitate
observation of project progress. Levels, sublevels, milestones, and critical events are accentuated to

specific works for the project as well as tasks to be completed in an opportune structure for successful
execution and continuation of the project. Project tasks and project personnel. According to
Zaccagnini and White (2014), a project is defined as a sequence of tasks with a beginning and an end
that is bounded by time and resources and that produces a unique product or service. A work

The project will utilize a Zero Based Budgeting method in efforts to control cost. This approach
recalculates all labor power and costs, and then decisions such as whether to continue the function and
at what levels is made (Roussel, 2013). In view of the fact there is no budget to compare from the
previous year, the budget will start at zero and be based on activities (e.g., salary).
Budget content and justification. Each task will be persistently assessed for its necessity to discourage
superfluous spending. Hourly costs due to development time and other resources may vary, in which
case costs will be adapted accordingly as the project implementation process continues. The project s
preliminary budget is projected to be $14,176.
Direct costs. Due to existing resources such as an electronic medical health record (EMR) and
appropriate staff (e.g. information technology (IT)), the majority of the direct costs for implementation
of an intrathecal pain therapy program will be attributable to salaries. Approximate salaries were
quantified by a national salary online search tool (Salary.com, 2016). The staff education time on
behalf of the project managers is recognized and postulated to be approximately hours 40 hours.
Indirect costs. Indirect costs include items which are shared by many different entities in the
institution, such as, business space, Internet access, and IT

How Did The American Revolution Change The Nation
Change in the Nation The American Revolution transformed the colonies in numerous ways. The
Revolution caused a decline in paid domestic services. Wage workers became indentured servants and
were able to perform their required labor. Servants and apprentices were able to escape from their
masters. By 1800, indentured servitude had vanished from the nation. The Revolution was able to
create a separation between slavery and freedom. John Adams wished that every individual of society
could obtain land so the nation could avoid unequal or fixed social classes. Americans believed in
equal opportunity. Jefferson assumed if the nation was lacking economic resources it also lacked
freedom. He preferred a limited state. He passed laws that prohibited

What Are The Behaviors That Influence Information Security...
The primary implication of the current study is the positive social change. Through the themes,
educators and school administrators may consider prioritizing the need for information security
training to avoid disclosure of information from both students and teachers. Moreover, school
administrators may implement policies that promote the protection of information among students and
educators. The findings also contribute to the body of knowledge about the factors that are unknown
about unauthorized disclosure of information related to information security awareness training in
public schools. Furthermore, the research study contributes to elements of the protection motivation

Participants reported that undergoing training and taking security seriously reduced unauthorized
disclosures. Arachchilage and Love (2014) confirmed the need for information security training. The
researchers suggested that personnel have an insufficient amount of both knowledge and training to
mitigate threats related to information security. For instance, organizations attempt to counter
information security threats by publishing organizational policies and conducting periodic information
security training that assist in the mitigation efforts to thwart threats such as fraud, viruses, malware,
spyware, and social engineering attacks (Arachchilage Love, 2014; Chen, Ramamurthy, Wen, 2015;
Singh et al., 2013).
Aloul (2012) supports the reiteration for information security training. An aspect of securing
organizational data and information in the public school system brings about the need for information
security awareness and training due to increases in security incidents (Aloul, 2012). In addition, Aloul
(2012) added that a method for mitigating and combating the unauthorized release of PII is the
training and education of users in the arena of information security. Trinkle et al. (2014) explained that
the unauthorized release of information or information leakage can be attributed to either internal or
external entities that are conducted either by a human or technical

The Environmental Protection Of A Natural Gas Star Program
Introduction
As natural gas use continues to increase in the U.S. and throughout the world, new markets,
technologies and infrastructure have enabled companies to capitalize on the advantages delivered by
this non toxic, non corrosive and relatively clean burning fossil fuel.
With the increased focus on the benefits of LNG, however, global regulatory bodies and
environmentalist groups are also increasingly focused on the impact of natural gas extraction and
utilization. The hazardous effects of fugitive methane emissions are an ongoing source of scrutiny,
with LNG producers and standards committees both acutely aware of the importance of mitigating the
associated risks.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency has likewise ... Show more content on

Unlike on/off valves, check valves are flow sensitive and rely on the line fluid to open and close.
Rather than offering emergency shutoff or complete flow control, check valves are intended only to
prevent reverse flow and the resultant damage to piping systems. Because of this, seat leakage rates
for check valves differ from those imposed on other valve types, and should be evaluated within the
appropriate constraints.
The industry has a large number of leak rate standards available (API 598, API 6D, MSS, BS6364,
Shell MESC SPE 77/300, ISO 5208, ANSI to name a few), and there is confusion in the industry
today about which requirements are the most appropriate to impose on check valves. This article will
review the valve industry seat leak rate standards, the purpose of each standard, and ultimately how
they relate to check valve selection and specifications. Furthermore, we will examine the purpose and
operation of check valves within LNG systems and discuss why ultra low leak rates are generally not
appropriate for check valves.
Leak Rate Specifications: Purpose and Practicality
The daily demands placed on check valves, including their constant exposure to fluid mediums, make
them highly susceptible to wear and other operational challenges like sticking, jamming and

The Definition Of Sustainable Development
The simplest definition of sustainable development was given by the World Commission on
Environment and Development: development that meets the needs of the present without
compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs (Un.org 1987).
Bioenergy production as one of the sustainable production is expected to offer new opportunities to
diversify income and fuel supply sources, to promote employment in rural areas, to develop long term
replacement of fossil fuels, and to reduce GHG emissions, boosting the decarburization of
transportation fuels and increasing the security of energy supply (Mata, Martins Caetano 2010).
The sustainable production of new renewable resource is now becoming a global trend since the first
generation bioenergy, primarily produced from food crops and mostly oil seeds have limitations in
their ability to achieve requirements for bioenergy production, climate change mitigation and
economic growth, therefore cannot sustainably replace fossil based transport fuels. New technology is
developing to produce second generation bioenergy produced from non food feed stocks such as
microalgae, which potentially offer greatest opportunities in the longer term (Greenwell et al. 2010).
Bioenergy from microalgae seems to be the best renewable biofuel that has the potential to completely
displace petroleum derived transport fuels without adversely affecting supply of food and other crop
products, of which large arable land is required, also

Summary Of Ethos Pathos Logos By Maggie Jackson
What are some ways you could persuade your reader to your opinion? One way is by using logos,
pathos, and ethos. What are logos, pathos, and ethos? Those three terms are modes of persuasion used
to convince your audience. In the essay Distracted: The Erosion of Attention and The Coming Dark
Age by Maggie Jackson. Maggie used those three concepts to help her argument because she hooks
the reader by convincing the audience, making the audience feel what she felt and lastly using logic or
reason.
Authors typically use pathos to make their reader feel what the author wants them to feel. For
example, Maggie says It s crucial that we better understand how our new high tech tools, from video
games to PowerPoint, may be affecting us (Jackson273). Maggie wants the readers to realize that
technology can affect us whether it s through video games, phones or PowerPoint. Technology has an
impact on our time and it s becoming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Maggie showed her readers the statistics of using too much technology. Maggie had other sources to

learning how to work a tablet before learning how to say their alphabets or read a book. Another
example Maggie used Government and other studies show that many US high school students can t

Students are lacking staying focus and the skills nurtured by the brain s executive attention network.
By Maggie using logos, pathos and ethos she made sure that if her reader did not at least agree with
her opinion. The reader would have learned something from her

What Did Thomas Jefferson Do During The Long War
This report will start out with a summary of what Thomas Jefferson did during this long war. Thomas
Jefferson was the one man who began the war for America, but it was not as if he had a choice. The
Barbary pirates were demanding too high a price for the young American government. The tribute for
safe passage to trade with the Mediterranean Sea started under Washington, increased under Adams,
but Jefferson thought the bribe was too much. As the vice president under John Adams, he fought
congress, saying that they shouldn t pay the insanely high tribute to the Tripoleans, who could easily
still keep capturing US merchant ships. After Jefferson was elected president, he was faced with the
task of releasing prisoners that the Barbary pirates had captured. Jefferson was forced to pay a hefty
sum of money to release these prisoners. Meanwhile, Jefferson fought congress for the funding of
warships to police the areas around the North African coast, and intimidate them into not being hostile
to the Americans. After the first wave of ships, Jefferson kept up a steady flow of ships into the
Mediterranean. Those ships added and the pirate ships captured made up a strong naval force. Because
of Jefferson the Americans not only succeeded in regaining their prisoners, but in winning back their
trade routes from the Barbary pirates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Driving while impaired Drinking and driving obviously comes with multiple problems and
consequences, but with problems, there is always a solution. It s only been in the past 15 years that we
as a whole have recognized the dangers that come while you are drinking and driving (Cooper, n.d).
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that this year there has people 500,000 people,
or one person every other minute will get hurt in a alcohol related accident. 10,000 will die due to
drunk drivers, which is about one death every hour. Around 50% of car crashes that lead to death are

A person who has been drinking can not only harm others, but can also harm themselves very bad and
in most cases end up in jail as a result. About 60% of high school students admit to drinking on an
everyday basis or weekends and about 12% of that admit to have been driving while they were
drinking or just shortly after (Driving impaired, 1). This number is ridiculously high. It proves that
teens are harming themselves just as much as others because they are drinking before their body is
done developing. Drinking in this process can seriously hurt them in different ways. It almost doubles
the odds of them getting liver cancer (Rethinking drinking, 16). About every other minute someone is
injured during a drinking accident. Almost all the time the person who is in most danger is not the
person drinking but the people on the other

National Guard Analysis
I think that you make some great points. It was interesting to read about the unique challenges facing
the reserve component and National Guard. I have been active component my entire career, and I had
given little thought to the other side. After reading this, I agree that bringing the reserve and National
Guard components with us into this new realm of tactics may pose a daunting challenge. However,
operating in these conflicts that present us with complex threat rich environments should primarily be
the realm of the active component. It is probably best to leave these operations to the units that have
the time and resources to effectively train for them. I believe it is likely, that these force on force
operations will not last as long as the operations we re used to. Hopefully within weeks, our DOD
partners can secure air supremacy and alleviate the need for such extreme tactics and procedures. This
will allow other units to fly in support of other operations without the need to be extremely proficient
in the latest tactics. The National Guard and reserve components will be challenged to train to
proficiency, but hopefully in these types of conflicts they will be able to operate in their intended
function in a secondary, and supplementary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Split Horn Life Of A Hmong Culture Summary
In this documentary, The Split Horn Life of a Hmong Shaman in America focuses on the religious
containment of the Hmong people. Their rich history goes back to the time in a village in North East
Asia where they believed that the Shaman were the great healers for the sick. The Hmong were living
a peaceful life until the Vietnam war broke out and destroyed their village. Many of the Hmong
villagers fled their beloved homeland in order to seek refuge form the war. Many were fortunate
enough to find shelter in Thailand where they stayed for the majority of the conflict. Some were even
lucky enough to get a sponsorship to America. As they slowly came to America the Hmong were
worried that they might lose their religious roots to the American customs.
Some of the Hmong people had to learn English and how to read and write. In their village, they never
had to learn how to read or write because of their background and their religion. The Hmong people
feel that their culture and values still play a major role in their daily lives. Many Hmong communities
rely on the shamans for religious and spiritual support. Without the shamans, the Hmong culture
would be incomplete and slowly diminish.
The Hmong s believe in shamans. Shamans are religious specialists commonly found in small scale
egalitarian societies. They are believed to have the power to contact powerful cosmic beings directly
on behalf of others, sometimes by traveling to the cosmic realm to communicate with them. Shamans

Unit 17: Lead Person Centered Practice
1. Understand the theory and principles that underpin person centred practice
1.1 Explain person centred practice
Person centred practice is an approach that puts the individual at the centre of their care and involves
them in making decisions about things that affect them (Health Foundation, 2012).
By using a person centred approach individuals are empowered to be fully involved in the planning of
their care and in making decisions regarding this. There are several components of person centred care
which includes;
Recognising, and getting to know each person as an individual and being responsive to their
individual needs as well as family characteristics
Ensuring that care is provided to each individual in and a way that is meaningful to them as
individuals. Care should be provided in a way that is respectful to the individual s values, preferences
and needs
Take into account every individual s own unique biological, psychological and social needs
Promote and foster the devlopmenty of trusting care givIng relationships
Place emphasis on freedom of choice and support reasonable risk taking which is appropriate to the
individual personally
Service users should be seen as equal partners in the planning of their care with shared decision
making. Fundamentally, the aim of person cented care is personalisation and a holistic approach
should be taken. Therefore the individuals culture, ethnicity, wishes and personal

Social, Political And Economic Causes Of The French...
The French Revolution was a dark time for France as a whole. There were many deaths and horrific
actions that left France in shambles. There were many causes of this revolution, all falling under three
categories: social, political and economic. The political factors were mostly having to do with the rule
of King Louis XVI and his ways and actions. There were also factors having to do with the Three
Estates and France s struggling financial issues. The next category was economic. The economic
causes of the revolution had to do with the way France spent their money and how the royals used it.
Finally, the social factors had the most impact on the people. It had to with the shortages of food and
effected a large percent of the population. However, there seems to be a recurring issue throughout
each of these categories, which may be the reason why the revolution finally broke out in France. The
French Revolution finally broke out because of the people, their actions and the conditions they were
faced with in France at the time. The social causes of the French Revolution seems to be the most
influential because of the fact that the Revolution was mostly for the people. One of the major issues
featuring the French people was the bread shortage. The bread shortage was caused by the three year
drought that France was struck with. Bread was everything to the French people as the people relied
on bread to feed themselves and their families. Without bread, many would be left

ABSTRACT
Corporate social responsibility is a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental
concerns in their business activities and in interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis. In
this global context, voluntary social and environmental practices of business, going beyond companies
existing legal obligations, can play a major role in filling the governance gap in an innovative way.
The sector is characterized by controls across the entire value chain of sugar production and sale,
which not only hampers its efficiency but also exacerbates the cyclicality in sugar and sugarcane
production. The growth and development in sugar sector in the country in general and in the state of
Uttar Pradesh in particular has multiple linkages with social, economic and environmental issues. The
purpose of this study is to conduct a triple bottom line assessment of sugarcane value chain and
suggest alternatives that could improve the current sustainable practices of CSR across various
stakeholders.

Essay on The Doctrine of the Mean in Aristotles Politics
The Doctrine of the Mean in Aristotle s Politics.
Examining the texts of Aristotle s Nicomachean Ethics and Politics side by side, one is bound to find
parallels between his reasoning with regard to the individual and to the state. In Nicomachean Ethics
Aristotle discusses happiness, virtue, and the good life on an individual level and lays out necessary
provisions for the good life of a person. He maintains that virtue is a necessary element of happiness: a
man will be happy if he has virtues of justice, courage, and temperance, each constituting a balance
between the extremes. But this requirement of virtue for the happy life goes beyond the individual

Therefore, the mean relative to us is not one, and is not the same for everyone .
With respect to this, Aristotle states that virtue seeks the mean relative to us, and this is how each
science produces its product well : by focusing on what is intermediate and making the product
conform to that. A well made product will be that to which nothing can be added or taken away
without making it worse, since it assumes that excess or deficiency ruins a good result, while the mean
preserves it. And just like good craftsmen focus on an intermediate when they produce a product, one
should aim at intermediate in regard to virtue.
Thus we see that virtue is to be achieved by concentrating on the optimal mean between the extremes
of deficiency and excess. But the discussion of virtue would be incomplete if one did not investigate
its role with respect to the object possessing virtue and its effect on that object. Since Aristotle defines
virtue as a state that decides the optimal mean relative to us, he asserts that every virtue causes its
possessors to be in a good state and to perform their functions well; the virtue of eyes, e.g., makes the
eyes and their functioning excellent, because it makes us see well , and this is argued to be true in the
case of all objects. At this point, the role of virtue with respect to the object is apparent: something
will be functioning at the best level only if it reaches an

Failures Of Indira Gandhi
Week Ten: This weeks analysis on Indira Gandhi helped me unpack her successes and failures. Some
of the major failures that my group talked about was the forced sterilization, state of emergency,
religious divide, censorship and corruption. The mass forced sterilization was ultimate failure in my
eyes and as I talked about prior a major human rights violation. Interestingly, Indira Gandhi had no
gender policy during her reign. One would think that a women politician would want to address so
many of the problems that plague women on a daily basis. If I was a women in India during the time
where Indira Gandhi came to power, I would have been devastated that she was not interested in
improving women s rights. Indira also reinforced the religious divide within India, especially for the
Sikhs. She ended up exacerbating tensions in the region, which ultimately lead to her demise.
While she did have a lot of failures, this weeks class helped bring to light some of her successes as
well. Prior to this class I only really thought of her failures and even during class my group had a hard
time coming up with anything. I think her lack of credentials and her short sidedness made her ill
prepared to be a ruler. Throughout this class I began to admire Nehru and his leadership of India;
however, with Indira I felt myself being angry and disappointed with her ruling style.

Good Morning Miss B and class. Today I will be talking to you all about clothing but this will include
a lot of information that you may not know about most of the clothes you own or the clothes you are
currently wearing.
Important terms:
Carbon Footprint: This refers to the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere due to
various activities (Change, n.d.)
Fast Fashion: This refers to when the production process of clothing is done as quickly as possible in
order to get new trends onto the market quickly and at a cheap price. (Anon., n.d.)

Disposal of Obsolete articles:
By us getting rid of clothes that are broken or that we no longer wear we will often just replace them
with no clothes which at the end of the day just continues this cycle is may be of benefit to us but is of
no benefit to the world around us.
What can be done about the above negative impacts?
In order to reduce the negative impact of clothing production we can ensure that we check labels and
buy clothes that are eco friendly and are made from organic cotton and silk.
We can buy locally as a lot of fuel is used to import goods and that will increase the carbon footprint.
We can reuse old clothes by making various items out of them, give them to charity or sell them to a
second hand shop instead of throwing them away. (Maralyn Burger, 2015)
Influence of globalisation on the textile industry:
Conclusion:
So, although we all love clothes and fashion it is negatively affecting our environment, animals and
various peoples human rights. It is therefore important for us to remember we can look good and
ensure that we are not purchasing clothes that will have a negative impact on the world.

The American Fear of Being Sued Essay
The American Fear of Being Sued
Something basic has been stolen from American life. We have lost much of our individual freedom
due to the theft in our society. Our thieves come in the form of sue happy Americans. Doctors are
paranoid, teachers are weakened and religious consultation is decreased. You would have to be a fool
to say what you really think in the workplace. Increasingly, people believe that they cannot make a

The girls mother got angry and had words with the other mother. The angry mother then sued for a

what faith, lawsuits do not discriminate. Philip K. Howard stated, Nothing is sacred. Ministers now
are increasingly told not to counsel troubled parishioners because, who knows, maybe someone will

When did we develop a fright for participating in a faith? Lets permit ministers to counsel as they

Orlando Patterson asked the question, Do you think whites are afraid of discrimination claims? Frozen

In Asia Pacific/Japan (APJ), the optimal mode of transport is ocean shipment to countries such as
Japan, Australia and New Zealand. In the Americas, certain aspects of our business dictate that we
ship notebooks from Asia to the United States. In the past, we relied primarily on air service.
However, last year we enjoyed improvements in our supply chain by shipping more freight from Asia
to the U.S. via ocean carriers. Furthermore, we have also implemented the use of rail transport from
ocean terminals to Dell fulfillment centers within the United States. This process has also become a
standard practice to deliver notebooks to customers in Latin America and EMEA.
To provide world class logistics support for Dell and our customers, our logistics teams must also
leverage the best transportation and logistics providers available in the industry. During the past year,
we made changes to the relationships we had with some of our carrier partners, which again required
significant adjustments to networks and processes, as well as great attention to detail. As volumes
shifted from one carrier to another, we ensured that there were no disruptions in customer service
(such as delays in delivery times or an increase in the number of incidents with missing, wrong or
damaged products) that would have negatively affected our customers purchase and delivery
experience.

How Cystic Fibrosis Affect The Occupation Of Rest And Sleep
Cystic fibrosis, a debilitating, genetic disease, disturbs the mucus glands of the lungs, pancreas, and
other organs. To fully comprehend the everyday impacts, envision Emily, a fourteen year old girl
struggling to adapt to high school life with cystic fibrosis. She spends over three hours a day
exclusively nebulizing and performing airway clearance therapy; this time does not include doctor s
visits or other therapists appointment (Sawicki, 2008). Due to the high treatment demand, Emily feels
stressed since she cannot find adequate time for social participation, homework, plus added teenage
milestones. Consequently, cystic fibrosis influences many of her occupations. Attitude has a major
impact on her overall progress of managing this serious, chronic medical challenge. A solid
understanding of the entire person helps create an enriched treatment plan and improved outcomes.
Starting the day, cystic fibrosis greatly influences the occupation of rest and sleep. Nasal polyps
develop inside the nose, which obstruct breathing during while lying down (Olson, 2015). In addition,
Emily develops many respiratory infections that worsen her ongoing cough; consequently, interrupting
her sleeping patterns. Many days, instead of going to school, she must go to medical appointments or
stay in hospital. The significant amount of time spent with health care professionals reduces time
spent in school performing educational tasks and developmentally appropriate behaviors with peers. In

The Ways We Lie Argument Essay
Lies have been around for as long as people have been. We all lie, whether it is to protect someone we
love of to cover up something we don t want others to know about, it is still lying, and we all do it
everyday. Lying has become the new normal for our modern society, so much so, that some of us have
lost our morals completely. It is just so much easier and quicker to just lie to someone than to tell the
truth, and now you can never tell who is lying to you or who is telling the truth. People use to have
morals about lying and many people would feel bad about it and teach their children to never lie, but
now in today s society they just pop out of our mouths like they re nothing. We will never stop lying

We believe it because it is in a local or national magazine, and we think that no one would try to lie to
that many people at once. As children we are taught to not question the things that adults tell us. We
are suppose to just believe what they tell us and we are not to question our parents or our teachers. As
we grow older and wiser though, we learn that our parents and teachers lie just like everyone else and
that not everyone tells the truth. Even the presidents lie, like Bill Clinton when he tried to hide his
affair with another woman. Because of his life he was impeached by the House of Representatives and
he lost the trust of an entire nation with one lie. As we grow we learn that our lives can affect other
people and maybe even hurt them, and most of all that lying can cause people to lose their trust in us.
We will never be able to eliminate lying from our society because it makes our lives easier; it is just
easier to tell a lie. We will always want to hide things from our friends, and parents and add those little
things to our stories that make our lives sound better and more interesting. It is a little scary how use
to lying that we have become and how easily that we will believe these lies. We will always want to

The Birth Story Of Jesus And Interpreting It Today
The concept of a virginal birth could seem possible or probable with the advancement of modern
technology allowing women who wish to conceive a child the option of undergoing In Vitro
Fertilization to have a child without a male partner or need for sexual intercourse today. However, it is
perplexing how Mary, the mother of Jesus, miraculously conceived and bore a child as a virgin. On the
surface it may seem that it can simply be explained as a one time, divine intervention by God, yet the
details surrounding how this phenomenon occurred becomes much more complex after delving into
the accounts of this event in the books of Matthew and Luke. There are many issues surrounding who
and what the virgin Mary was in regards to her origins and the term virgin used to describe her. Also,
how this event manifested, the role Joseph played in this story, are important for unraveling the birth
story of Jesus and interpreting it today. I believe that it is reasonable to assume that Jesus was
conceived miraculously or supernaturally by a virgin female named Mary, and was naturally born in
this world. To have a better understanding of the virginal conception it is important to have
background information on the main characters involved, Mary and Joseph. The Proto Gospel, an
apostolic writing by Jesus half brother James, offers an omniscient perspective of Mary s origin and
upbringing through the birth of Jesus. This gives an important background for understanding the

The Boy In The Striped Pajamas Short Story
Two stories that are quite alike are The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and Ten days in a Madhouse. The
Boy in the Striped Pajamas is historical fiction about a young boy who is in a concentration camp and
becomes friends with a boy whom is a high ranked SS captain s son. And Ten days in a Madhouse is
investigative journalism about a young journalist who faked to be insane to enter an asylum in
Blackwell s Island and investigate how the people are treated to write a section on that asylum. Both
stories were different but their conflict was quite the same, both main characters in the story saw
horrible things while they were in captivity. I believe the best way conflict should be responded is in a
positive way; I m going to compare the conflicts in both The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and Ten days
in a Madhouse.
The story Ten days in a Madhouse conflict is that Nellie Bly, the reporter, is that the people in the
asylum were treated horrible and she had to live with that since she was also considered a maniac as
the rest of the people. Nellie Bly responds to conflict in a positive way because she made the section

The Killer Angel By Michael Shaara
The Killer Angel is a book elaborating on the history of the American civil war authored by Michael
Shaara. The book has gained popularity among American citizens as it covers one of the deadliest
battles in American history that took place at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, hence the title of the battle of
Gettysburg (Shaara 5). The crash involved two major groups, the Confederacy, and the Union. The
Confederacy constituted of seven secessionist states from the South who advocated for slavery while
the Union consisted of the northerners who advocated for the abolition of the slave trade and
recognition of black men as legitimate American citizens. The book widely covers the course of the
battle for the three primary days of the war, which were between 30th June 1863 and 2nd July 1863
(Shaara 32). According to the author, the Confederates are headed by General Robert E. Lee and
General James Longstreet. On their part, the Union army is spearheaded by General John Buford.
However, the battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is considered as the worst battle in the American
Civil War as the two groups lost a significant number of their soldiers (Shaara 37). It is also clear that
the two groups had different reasons for participating in the war. Soldiers from the two sides also had
different motivations hence the morale and willingness to fight on despite the risk of death. The given

begin the long road to getting in shape means hard work and pushing the body till the goal is achieved.
Always ask yourself honestly about your weight. Never sugar coat things or beat around the bushes

go to food for the satisfaction, but the key is to try and go for exercise or an active activity for
satisfaction instead. The best ways to make this happen are to spend time with friends that like to work
out or just stay away from lazy activities. In order to live out this healthy lifestyle, keeping it regular is
a must. Most people who go to diets or training workouts usually have a stopping point for it which is

Volcanic Eruptions and the Atmosphere
In what ways do the volcanic gases from volcanic eruptions develop the atmosphere? When a volcano
erupts, a plethora of debris and other hazards flows out from the mouth of the volcano. Of this debris,
one of the most perilous threats is not only the lava but also any gases that are a product of the
eruption. In fact, these gases that are released during, after, and sometimes before an eruption are one
of the main culprits as to why volcanos erupt. These gases include, but are not limited to: sulfur
dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen chloride (HCl), and
hydrogen fluoride (HF). These gases are the cause of several devastating phenomenon that are widely
known to affect the atmosphere: the haze effect, the depletion of the Ozone layer, and global warming
related to the emission of greenhouse gases.
The haze effect is defined as when Suspended particles, such as dust and ash...block out the earth s
sunlight, thus reducing solar radiation and lowering mean global temperatures. (
http://www.geology.sdsu.edu/how_volcanoes_work/climate_effects.html) While this statement holds
true, it was found that it was not only the dust particles that caused lowering mean global
temperatures, but it was also the discharge of sulfuric rich gases; the main gas being SO2. According
to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Emission rates of SO2 from an active volcano range from 20
tonnes/day to 10 million tonnes/day...

The Importance Of A Student s Elementary Career
As an educator, it is my main goal to meet the individual needs of each and every one of my students.
I want them to be able to think critically when it comes to reading and writing and most importantly,
be comfortable in the classroom. It is also a goal of mine to be able to track the progress of each of my
students in the classroom from the first days of school until the closing days so that I can not only
show parents how far they ve come, but to show them as well. Young students struggle to find their
niche in life and in the classroom and showing them how far they ve come is a great confidence
booster and a huge motivator for future success.
Literacy is one of the single most important aspects of a student s elementary career. Literacy is a huge
stepping stone for the real world, and it is vital to introduce students to different types of texts in order
to familiarize them with different types of readings and build their confidence in order to prepare
themselves for the real world. In order to reach full literacy, one must focus on four main aspects of
balanced literacy instruction. These are reading, writing, oral language and assessments. Factors that
also affect the success of students are classroom environment, and lesson delivery.
Literacy in Reading and Writing
Literacy has a tendency to begin in reading and writing. It is important to meet the needs of every
student in literacy classes regardless of age. Morrow and Tracey state Instead of waiting

can proficiently do justice in the U.S. Not only can DNA testing take criminals off the streets, but it
can also help gives evidence and vital information on individuals linked to a specific incident.
Statistics have shown that before the creation of DNA testing in the late 1980 s, tens of thousands of

A Short Note On Diabetic Retinopathy ( Dr ) Is The...
Abstract Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is the deterioration of human eye as a result of increase in the
blood glucose level. Longer the patient has DR, higher the chance to develop purblind. The robust
detection of lesions in digital colour fundus images is an important step in the development of
automated screening system for diabetic retinopathy. In this work a novel method is introduced for
automatic detection of red lesions in the fundus image. A new set of shape features extracted from the
detected red lesion called the dynamic shape features that differentiate between the lesions and vessel
segments. The detected lesion candidates are classified using dynamic shape features based on the
medical values. The simulation analysis indicates that the proposed work is better than the previous
works in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, precision and specificity.
Keywords: Diabetic retinopathy, Fundus, Lesions, Dynamic shape features, Retina
Introduction
Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) affects the diabetic patients. Generally diabetics are of three types Type I,
II and III. The Type I diabetic is due to the genetic predisposition, Type II diabetic which usually
affects the adults. This is owing to over weight of children beyond their age limit and Type III is seen
only in pregnant women. The patients with Type I diabetics will only suffer from DR which influence
the retina. This leads the way to damage of retina and finally blindness.
DR is caused by red lesion which is composed of

Physical Activities And Physical Education
Across the nation, fundamental subjects such as mathematics, science, and history are mandatory in
the education system starting from the elementary level. These subjects are taught in aiding students
understanding about the world they live in. However, subjects instructed in schools, particularly
physical education is viewed as unnecessary. Physical education is unquestionably required in order to
create well prepared students ready to face the working field in the future. In order to achieve this,
administrators must stress the importance of physical activity within the goals of physical education
core programs. By doing this, physical activity can show improvement in the students health,
academic performance, self esteem and mental health.
Physical activity is beneficial for a variety of problems. Importantly, an increase of physical activity
can promote good health. Although it may seem trivial to not worry about health during childhood,
doing so can lead to a healthier future. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services, physical activity can lower the chance of having diseases found in adults such as
cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes. Particularly in young individuals, physical activity aids in
healthy bone, muscle and psychological development. In order to reap these benefits, school should
provide a minimum of 30 minutes of physical activity ranging from moderate to vigorous during each
school day (Koplan, Liverman, Kraak).

Australopithecus afarensis was discovered in Ethiopia on November 24, 1974 by paleoanthropologists
Donald Johanson, Maurice Taieb, Yves Coppens, and Tom Gray in the Afar Depression in Ethiopia,
Africa. The first fossil was found by Johanson in 71 when he discovered a shinbone and femur. They
returned in 1974 and the team found several hundred fragments of bones all belonging to a single
individual. The individual was deemed to be a female based on the width of the pelvic opening. The
fossil samples were argon argon dated by Robert Walter in 1992 and it was determined that she was

Characteristics
Male Australopithecines are on average 4 11 and weigh about 94 pounds while females average 3 5
and weigh close to 64 pounds. The most notable characteristic of Lucy was found in her knee, which
indicated that the species walked upright or was bipedal. Lucy s limb proportions also provide insight
to her bipedality. Human s hind limbs (legs) are longer than their fore limbs (arms). The ratio between
arms and legs is called an intermembral index. The average intermembral index for humans is between
68 70 , while chimpanzees fall around 106 . Lucy s intermembral index is 88 , which falls between
both. This suggests that A. afarensis probably walked on the ground with hind limbs and climbed in
trees with fore limbs. Lucy s pelvic blades are human like in that they are short and curved forward,
making the case for bipedality while on the ground. The location of Lucy s shoulder, however,
provides insight that she spent time climbing in trees. Furthermore, Lucy s sacrum is wide and short at
the top and goes in laterally like in humans. A wider and shorter sacrum is better for distributing
weight through the pelvis. This follows with bipedal theories because this shaped sacrum is better

Stereotypes And Judgements Essay
Judgements are something all people make. That being, said that doesn t necessarily
mean that judging people constantly is the right thing to do. In English class we learned about
Stereotypes and Judgements and looked at ourselves and thought maybe what people thought
about us from their view. For me most of my judgements were about what I wear and the way I
act which I guess makes sense. One of the judgements was that I look like I skater which is
technically a correct judgement because I do skateboard but a lot of people associate that
negatively because a lot of skateboarders are bad. Another one I got was that I am awkward
and weird. This one was weird to me because I don t think I am awkward but I guess I have
some awkward tendencies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

do play video games but people who are gamers are usually considered to have no life and
just sit inside and play video games. Another one which I thought of is that people might think
that I am mean or insensitive. I think people who don t know me would think this because I have
a rude and cruel sense of humor and I am pretty insensitive about some things but I also want
to make sure I don t offend a ton of people if I can avoid it.
Some of the things people may not see by just looking at me is that I play soccer I think
they wouldn t think this at first because I don t think I look very athletic. I also think that I am a
nice person because I try to stay on everyone s good side and I am fairly easy to get along with.
I also think I am funny which wouldn t seem obvious at first because I am not very outgoing but
once you get to know me I am funny (Or so i have been told I don t think I m really that funny).
Although some of the stereotypes are sort of accurate I don t think any one of them is
completely true. An example of this is the Skater stereotype, yes I do skateboard every

The Statue Of Honor-Personal Narrative
Ladies and gentlemen, the Captain has turned on the Fasten Seat Belt sign...
I put in my earphones and watched as the buildings turned into tiny dots and the land became then
white clouds. My eyes began to feel heavy and I...
The sun beat down on us as we drew squares on the crumbed street and numbered them with the chalk
we had stolen. We played with sticks and stones. Each day, our bodies grew, our minds expanded, the
streets crumbled some more, but the chalk was always stolen and stones were always free. My mother
s cold palm gently woke me.
I stepped of the plane and stood in the suffocating humid breeze, listening to the hum of the rotors,
debating the wisdom of running back into the plane and not coming out. I received unwanted ... Show

Looking into the girl s eyes I could see my mother. I remembered the nights where I lay in bed,
listening to the sound of the fighting. My mother would shout, my father would yell back, and then
screaming, and whimpering. I remembered how would bury my face into my pillow, hoping I could
also bury the problems. My father s new job in Australia was our ticket to a better life, although it
meant leaving my best friend behind.
She looked at me with a familiar curiosity. She was shivering despite the weather and let out a
mumble, Hey. Suddenly, the humid weather didn t matter anymore. The crowded streets started to
resemble those that I used to once know. I gestured her towards a nearby street stall.
One coffee and roti please.
She grabbed the roti, ripping a chunk off with her teeth, showing no pretentious manners. Watching
her eat reminded me of when Yasheita and I combined what we had to buy some samosas and spring
rolls. Despite the humid weather, we would both sit and eat the hot food, the only things we could
afford at the time. Already this girl felt like a friend, someone I used to know.
Sitting there, with the girl, I felt at ease, like my past had finally caught up to me. I couldn t feel the
weather anymore, and I felt like the little six year old girl, eating samosas with my best friend.
The young girl reached for my hand and squeezed it in

How Did The Transcontinental Railroad Affect The Economy
The transcontinental railroad was an 1,912 mile railway system that spanned from Sacramento,
California to Omaha, Nebraska. It was built to connect the Atlantic to the Pacific Coast and was
constructed between 1863 to 1869. It revolutionized the settlement and economy of the west. It helped
the United State s in more ways than just benefiting the west. The transcontinental railroad
transformed America by allowing faster transportation, faster settlement, and an increase in trade and
the economy.
Firstly, the transcontinental railroad helped our trade and economy. The western economy was largely
based on farming and mining which could have played a large factor in the American economy (Pohn
Pei). There was just one problem, there was no way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The construction of railroads fueled to a more efficient settlement west. Many of America s major
historical events such as the California Gold Rush, Homestead Act, and overall settlement west all had
something in common. They were aided by the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad. With the
west now being part of the United States economy, many people saw this as an opportunity to move
and make money. As a result, many relocated west looking for a new beginning or to strike rich and
towns and cities started sprouting along the railways (Transportation History 1800 1900). In 1848,
gold was discovered in California starting the California Gold Rush (Huntington). Thousands of
people across the entire world started traveling to California hoping to become wealthy. The problem
was, out of the thousands that went to California, many of them died along the journey. They needed a
fast and safe way to get there. After the completion of the Transcontinental Railway, traveling became
considerably quicker and safer. Another way these railways aided the westward expansion was
through the Homestead Act of 1862 (Huntington). The United State s Homestead Act offered a free
160 acre lots in the unsettled west. (Huntington). There were some requirements such as having to file
a claim, live on the land and also making upgrades to it whether it be by building or dwelling.
(Huntington). But, many settlers and merchants needed a faster, more cheap way to get there. In 1869,
the Transcontinental Railway was completed greatly assisted in America s westward

Darby Case Study
I. Problem Description The Darby Company is re evaluating its current production and distribution
system in order to determine whether it is cost effective or if a different approach should be
considered. The company produces meters that measure the consumption of electrical power.
Currently, they produce these meters are two locations El Paso, Texas and San Bernardino, California.
The San Bernardino plant is newer, and therefore the technology is more effective, meaning that their
cost per unit is $10.00, while the El Paso plant produces at $10.50. However, the El Paso plant has a
higher capacity at 30,000 to San Bernardino s 20,000. Once manufactured, the meters are sent to one

the Apostle Paul and his pastoral leadership has given me great insight as to how live life daily. His
missionary journey s as God s representative has had great influence on my own theological thought
and preservation of my faith. The book of Colossians is filled with stories of redemption, knowledge
and the power of prayer. The Apostle s extraordinary life from darkness to light can only be attributed
to the Grace of the Lord. Paul s letter to the Church in Colossae is powerful as well as informative, it
not only addresses the specific problem of heresy, but Paul is stating himself to be specifically chosen
by God to demonstrate the role of intercessory prayer and suffering as demonstrated in Colossians 1:9

Pros and Cons of Installing Closed-Circuit Television...
Installation of surveillance camera systems as a way to deter crimes or criminal acts has gained
traction in recent years. In some countries, surveillance camera systems also known as closed circuit
television (CCTV) cameras have also installed in educational institutions as a security measure to
address fears for the safety of the students (Hope, 2004; Corpuz, 2011). The trend, however, did not
stop. From halls and corridors, some education institutions have started to install cameras inside the
classrooms as a means not just to monitor the teachers, but also to address classroom misbehavior
(Shepherd, 2009). This paper seeks to cover the possible positive and negative effects of installing
CCTV systems inside the classrooms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Grant (2004) said educators want video cameras in classrooms to address the issue of violence in
schools. Often teachers who are attacked have no way of proving their claims because pupils who
witness the incidents fail to back up their stories. Video camera footage could be used to substantiate
teachers versions of events as well as to deter pupils from launching the attacks (Grant, 2004). In the
Philippines, the installation of cameras inside the classrooms is seen in a similar light. As cited in
Grafil (2011), University of Santo Tomas security chief Joseph Badinas said the cameras can be used
to track people who are doing something suspicious. The reason behind the installation of CCTV
systems in the classrooms can be attributed to the triadic reciprocality principle of the social cognitive
theory (Bandura, 1986). Under this principle, human life is consisted of a perpetual series of
interactions among the environment, their individual behavior, and personal cognitive variables like
thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions. These three constructs interact and influences each other
reciprocally. Applying the

The Revolution was able to create a separation between slavery and freedom. Participants reported that undergoing training and taking security seriously reduced unauthorized disclosures. Arachchilage and Love (2014) confirmed the need for information security training. The researchers suggested that personnel have an insufficient amount of both knowledge and training to mitigate threats related to information security. For instance, organizations attempt to counter information security threats by publishing organizational policies and conducting periodic information security training that assist in the mitigation efforts to thwart threats such as fraud, viruses, malware, spyware, and social engineering attacks (Arachchilage Love, 2014; Chen, Ramamurthy, Wen, 2015; Singh et al., 2013). Aloul (2012) supports the reiteration for information security training. An aspect of securing organizational data and information in the public school system brings about the need for information security awareness and training due to increases in security incidents (Aloul, 2012). Rather than offering emergency shutoff or complete flow control, check valves are intended only to prevent reverse flow and the resultant damage to piping systems. Because of this, seat leakage rates for check valves differ from those imposed on other valve types, and should be evaluated within the appropriate constraints. The industry has a large number of leak rate standards available (API 598, API 6D, MSS, BS6364, Shell MESC SPE 77/300, ISO 5208, ANSI to name a few), and there is confusion in the industry today about which requirements are the most appropriate to impose on check valves. This article will review the valve industry seat leak rate standards, the purpose of each standard, and ultimately how they relate to check valve selection and specifications. Furthermore, we will examine the purpose and operation of check valves within LNG systems and discuss why ultra low leak rates are generally not appropriate for check valves. • 10. The Definition Of Sustainable Development The simplest definition of sustainable development was given by the World Commission on Environment and Development: development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs (Un.org 1987). Bioenergy production as one of the sustainable production is expected to offer new opportunities to diversify income and fuel supply sources, to promote employment in rural areas, to develop long term replacement of fossil fuels, and to reduce GHG emissions, boosting the decarburization of transportation fuels and increasing the security of energy supply (Mata, Martins Caetano 2010). The sustainable production of new renewable resource is now becoming a global trend since the first generation bioenergy, primarily produced from food crops and mostly oil seeds have limitations in their ability to achieve requirements for bioenergy production, climate change mitigation and economic growth, therefore cannot sustainably replace fossil based transport fuels. New technology is developing to produce second generation bioenergy produced from non food feed stocks such as microalgae, which potentially offer greatest opportunities in the longer term (Greenwell et al. 2010). Bioenergy from microalgae seems to be the best renewable biofuel that has the potential to completely displace petroleum derived transport fuels without adversely affecting supply of food and other crop products, of which large arable land is required, also ... • 12. What Did Thomas Jefferson Do During The Long War This report will start out with a summary of what Thomas Jefferson did during this long war. Thomas Jefferson was the one man who began the war for America, but it was not as if he had a choice. The Barbary pirates were demanding too high a price for the young American government. The tribute for safe passage to trade with the Mediterranean Sea started under Washington, increased under Adams, but Jefferson thought the bribe was too much. As the vice president under John Adams, he fought congress, saying that they shouldn t pay the insanely high tribute to the Tripoleans, who could easily still keep capturing US merchant ships. After Jefferson was elected president, he was faced with the task of releasing prisoners that the Barbary pirates had captured. Jefferson was forced to pay a hefty sum of money to release these prisoners. Meanwhile, Jefferson fought congress for the funding of warships to police the areas around the North African coast, and intimidate them into not being hostile to the Americans. After the first wave of ships, Jefferson kept up a steady flow of ships into the Mediterranean. Those ships added and the pirate ships captured made up a strong naval force. I have been active component my entire career, and I had given little thought to the other side. After reading this, I agree that bringing the reserve and National Guard components with us into this new realm of tactics may pose a daunting challenge. However, operating in these conflicts that present us with complex threat rich environments should primarily be the realm of the active component. It is probably best to leave these operations to the units that have the time and resources to effectively train for them. I believe it is likely, that these force on force operations will not last as long as the operations we re used to. Hopefully within weeks, our DOD partners can secure air supremacy and alleviate the need for such extreme tactics and procedures. Their rich history goes back to the time in a village in North East Asia where they believed that the Shaman were the great healers for the sick. The Hmong were living a peaceful life until the Vietnam war broke out and destroyed their village. Many of the Hmong villagers fled their beloved homeland in order to seek refuge form the war. Many were fortunate enough to find shelter in Thailand where they stayed for the majority of the conflict. Some were even lucky enough to get a sponsorship to America. As they slowly came to America the Hmong were worried that they might lose their religious roots to the American customs. Some of the Hmong people had to learn English and how to read and write. By using a person centred approach individuals are empowered to be fully involved in the planning of their care and in making decisions regarding this. There are several components of person centred care which includes; Recognising, and getting to know each person as an individual and being responsive to their individual needs as well as family characteristics Ensuring that care is provided to each individual in and a way that is meaningful to them as individuals. There were many causes of this revolution, all falling under three categories: social, political and economic. The political factors were mostly having to do with the rule of King Louis XVI and his ways and actions. There were also factors having to do with the Three Estates and France s struggling financial issues. The next category was economic. The economic causes of the revolution had to do with the way France spent their money and how the royals used it. Finally, the social factors had the most impact on the people. It had to with the shortages of food and effected a large percent of the population. However, there seems to be a recurring issue throughout each of these categories, which may be the reason why the revolution finally broke out in France. The French Revolution finally broke out because of the people, their actions and the conditions they were faced with in France at the time. The social causes of the French Revolution seems to be the most influential because of the fact that the Revolution was mostly for the people. Examining the texts of Aristotle s Nicomachean Ethics and Politics side by side, one is bound to find parallels between his reasoning with regard to the individual and to the state. In Nicomachean Ethics Aristotle discusses happiness, virtue, and the good life on an individual level and lays out necessary provisions for the good life of a person. He maintains that virtue is a necessary element of happiness: a man will be happy if he has virtues of justice, courage, and temperance, each constituting a balance between the extremes. Therefore, the mean relative to us is not one, and is not the same for everyone . With respect to this, Aristotle states that virtue seeks the mean relative to us, and this is how each science produces its product well : by focusing on what is intermediate and making the product conform to that. A well made product will be that to which nothing can be added or taken away without making it worse, since it assumes that excess or deficiency ruins a good result, while the mean preserves it. And just like good craftsmen focus on an intermediate when they produce a product, one should aim at intermediate in regard to virtue. Thus we see that virtue is to be achieved by concentrating on the optimal mean between the extremes of deficiency and excess. But the discussion of virtue would be incomplete if one did not investigate its role with respect to the object possessing virtue and its effect on that object. Since Aristotle defines virtue as a state that decides the optimal mean relative to us, he asserts that every virtue causes its possessors to be in a good state and to perform their functions well; the virtue of eyes, e.g., makes the eyes and their functioning excellent, because it makes us see well , and this is argued to be true in the case of all objects. At this point, the role of virtue with respect to the object is apparent: something will be functioning at the best level only if it reaches an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Church and State have always been separate, lets keep it that way! Sociologist Orlando Patterson asked the question, Do you think whites are afraid of discrimination claims? Frozen with fear is more accurate. The sociologist observed, no Euro American person #8230;dare say what he or she really means. Fear of a discrimination claim hangs over all black white relations in the workplace. A lawsuit that favors no cultural background is sexual harassment. In the Americas, certain aspects of our business dictate that we ship notebooks from Asia to the United States. In the past, we relied primarily on air service. However, last year we enjoyed improvements in our supply chain by shipping more freight from Asia to the U.S. via ocean carriers. She spends over three hours a day exclusively nebulizing and performing airway clearance therapy; this time does not include doctor s visits or other therapists appointment (Sawicki, 2008). Due to the high treatment demand, Emily feels stressed since she cannot find adequate time for social participation, homework, plus added teenage milestones. • 31. The Ways We Lie Argument Essay Lies have been around for as long as people have been. We all lie, whether it is to protect someone we love of to cover up something we don t want others to know about, it is still lying, and we all do it everyday. Lying has become the new normal for our modern society, so much so, that some of us have lost our morals completely. It is just so much easier and quicker to just lie to someone than to tell the truth, and now you can never tell who is lying to you or who is telling the truth. People use to have morals about lying and many people would feel bad about it and teach their children to never lie, but now in today s society they just pop out of our mouths like they re nothing. We will never stop lying because it s easier to live a lie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We believe it because it is in a local or national magazine, and we think that no one would try to lie to that many people at once. As children we are taught to not question the things that adults tell us. We are suppose to just believe what they tell us and we are not to question our parents or our teachers. As we grow older and wiser though, we learn that our parents and teachers lie just like everyone else and that not everyone tells the truth. Even the presidents lie, like Bill Clinton when he tried to hide his affair with another woman. Because of his life he was impeached by the House of Representatives and he lost the trust of an entire nation with one lie. As we grow we learn that our lives can affect other people and maybe even hurt them, and most of all that lying can cause people to lose their trust in us. We will never be able to eliminate lying from our society because it makes our lives easier; it is just easier to tell a lie. We will always want to hide things from our friends, and parents and add those little things to our stories that make our lives sound better and more interesting. The Birth Story Of Jesus And Interpreting It Today The concept of a virginal birth could seem possible or probable with the advancement of modern technology allowing women who wish to conceive a child the option of undergoing In Vitro Fertilization to have a child without a male partner or need for sexual intercourse today. However, it is perplexing how Mary, the mother of Jesus, miraculously conceived and bore a child as a virgin. On the surface it may seem that it can simply be explained as a one time, divine intervention by God, yet the details surrounding how this phenomenon occurred becomes much more complex after delving into the accounts of this event in the books of Matthew and Luke. There are many issues surrounding who and what the virgin Mary was in regards to her origins and the term virgin used to describe her. Also, how this event manifested, the role Joseph played in this story, are important for unraveling the birth story of Jesus and interpreting it today. I believe that it is reasonable to assume that Jesus was conceived miraculously or supernaturally by a virgin female named Mary, and was naturally born in this world. To have a better understanding of the virginal conception it is important to have background information on the main characters involved, Mary and Joseph. The Proto Gospel, an apostolic writing by Jesus half brother James, offers an omniscient perspective of Mary s origin and upbringing through the birth of Jesus. This gives an important background for understanding the Matthew and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The book has gained popularity among American citizens as it covers one of the deadliest battles in American history that took place at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, hence the title of the battle of Gettysburg (Shaara 5). The crash involved two major groups, the Confederacy, and the Union. The Confederacy constituted of seven secessionist states from the South who advocated for slavery while the Union consisted of the northerners who advocated for the abolition of the slave trade and recognition of black men as legitimate American citizens. The book widely covers the course of the battle for the three primary days of the war, which were between 30th June 1863 and 2nd July 1863 (Shaara 32). According to the author, the Confederates are headed by General Robert E. Lee and General James Longstreet. On their part, the Union army is spearheaded by General John Buford. However, the battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is considered as the worst battle in the American Civil War as the two groups lost a significant number of their soldiers (Shaara 37). It is also clear that the two groups had different reasons for participating in the war. Soldiers from the two sides also had different motivations hence the morale and willingness to fight on despite the risk of death. When a volcano erupts, a plethora of debris and other hazards flows out from the mouth of the volcano. Of this debris, one of the most perilous threats is not only the lava but also any gases that are a product of the eruption. In fact, these gases that are released during, after, and sometimes before an eruption are one of the main culprits as to why volcanos erupt. These gases include, but are not limited to: sulfur dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen chloride (HCl), and hydrogen fluoride (HF). These gases are the cause of several devastating phenomenon that are widely known to affect the atmosphere: the haze effect, the depletion of the Ozone layer, and global warming related to the emission of greenhouse gases. Longer the patient has DR, higher the chance to develop purblind. The robust detection of lesions in digital colour fundus images is an important step in the development of automated screening system for diabetic retinopathy. In this work a novel method is introduced for automatic detection of red lesions in the fundus image. A new set of shape features extracted from the detected red lesion called the dynamic shape features that differentiate between the lesions and vessel segments. The detected lesion candidates are classified using dynamic shape features based on the medical values. The simulation analysis indicates that the proposed work is better than the previous works in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, precision and specificity. These subjects are taught in aiding students understanding about the world they live in. However, subjects instructed in schools, particularly physical education is viewed as unnecessary. Physical education is unquestionably required in order to create well prepared students ready to face the working field in the future. In order to achieve this, administrators must stress the importance of physical activity within the goals of physical education core programs. By doing this, physical activity can show improvement in the students health, academic performance, self esteem and mental health. Physical activity is beneficial for a variety of problems. Importantly, an increase of physical activity can promote good health. Although it may seem trivial to not worry about health during childhood, doing so can lead to a healthier future. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, physical activity can lower the chance of having diseases found in adults such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes. Particularly in young individuals, physical activity aids in healthy bone, muscle and psychological development. The most notable characteristic of Lucy was found in her knee, which indicated that the species walked upright or was bipedal. Lucy s limb proportions also provide insight to her bipedality. Human s hind limbs (legs) are longer than their fore limbs (arms). The ratio between arms and legs is called an intermembral index. The average intermembral index for humans is between 68 70 , while chimpanzees fall around 106 . Lucy s intermembral index is 88 , which falls between both. This suggests that A. afarensis probably walked on the ground with hind limbs and climbed in trees with fore limbs. Lucy s pelvic blades are human like in that they are short and curved forward, making the case for bipedality while on the ground. The location of Lucy s shoulder, however, provides insight that she spent time climbing in trees. Furthermore, Lucy s sacrum is wide and short at the top and goes in laterally like in humans. A wider and shorter sacrum is better for distributing weight through the pelvis. This follows with bipedal theories because this shaped sacrum is better ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Problem Description The Darby Company is re evaluating its current production and distribution system in order to determine whether it is cost effective or if a different approach should be considered. The company produces meters that measure the consumption of electrical power. Currently, they produce these meters are two locations El Paso, Texas and San Bernardino, California. The San Bernardino plant is newer, and therefore the technology is more effective, meaning that their cost per unit is $10.00, while the El Paso plant produces at $10.50. However, the El Paso plant has a higher capacity at 30,000 to San Bernardino s 20,000. Once manufactured, the meters are sent to one of three distribution centers Ft. Worth, Texas, Santa ... Fred Smith In partial fulfillment of the requirements for the completion of RTCH 500 B06 Research, Writing and Ministry Preparation by Laurie Pelosi September 11, 2016 Contents: Introduction..........................................................................................1 Context..................................................................................................3 Authorship...................................................................................4 Recipient.....................................................................................5 Conclusion............................................................................................6 Bibliography..........................................................................................7 ii Introduction For many years the Apostle Paul and his pastoral leadership has given me great insight as to how live life daily. His missionary journey s as God s representative has had great influence on my own theological thought and preservation of my faith. The book of Colossians is filled with stories of redemption, knowledge and the power of prayer. The Apostle s extraordinary life from darkness to light can only be attributed to the Grace of the Lord. Paul s letter to the Church in Colossae is powerful as well as informative, it not only addresses the specific problem of heresy, but Paul is stating himself to be specifically chosen by God to demonstrate the role of intercessory prayer and suffering as demonstrated in Colossians 1:9 14. The immediate task at hand is to provide a theological framework that encompasses the scope of the Apostle Paul and his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. Pros and Cons of Installing Closed-Circuit Television... Installation of surveillance camera systems as a way to deter crimes or criminal acts has gained traction in recent years. In some countries, surveillance camera systems also known as closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras have also installed in educational institutions as a security measure to address fears for the safety of the students (Hope, 2004; Corpuz, 2011). The trend, however, did not stop. From halls and corridors, some education institutions have started to install cameras inside the classrooms as a means not just to monitor the teachers, but also to address classroom misbehavior (Shepherd, 2009). This paper seeks to cover the possible positive and negative effects of installing CCTV systems inside the classrooms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Grant (2004) said educators want video cameras in classrooms to address the issue of violence in schools. Often teachers who are attacked have no way of proving their claims because pupils who witness the incidents fail to back up their stories. Video camera footage could be used to substantiate teachers versions of events as well as to deter pupils from launching the attacks (Grant, 2004). In the Philippines, the installation of cameras inside the classrooms is seen in a similar light. As cited in Grafil (2011), University of Santo Tomas security chief Joseph Badinas said the cameras can be used to track people who are doing something suspicious. The reason behind the installation of CCTV systems in the classrooms can be attributed to the triadic reciprocality principle of the social cognitive theory (Bandura, 1986). Under this principle, human life is consisted of a perpetual series of interactions among the environment, their individual behavior, and personal cognitive variables like thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions. These three constructs interact and influences each other reciprocally. Applying the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
