• Ovagen Group Ltd. has developed the world’s first, novel patented process of producing Germ-Free
(GF) chickens and eggs to overcome bacterial contamination in egg based vaccine production.
• Germ-free eggs provide many advantages over current sources of eggs including: a safe, quality,
biosecure, large scale, flexible and cost effective biomanufacturing platform for the production of
vaccines and therapeutic proteins.

Avian transgenic platform for large-scale GMP production of therapeutic proteins
Ovagen Group Ltd. offers specialist expertise in avian transgenics and recombinant protein expression with large-scale
production capabilities to GMP standards. A fully equipped and dedicated transgenic laboratory offers a full high-
definition microscope imaging system and microinjector capabilities, housed within a laminar flow hood allowing
hazardous material handling. This pivotal technology for producing monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins
in eggs from transgenic birds involves integrating the DNA of the molecule of interest into the chicken genome
resulting in the targeted production of recombinant protein into the egg-white of all eggs layed by transgenic hens.
• The generation of recombinant proteins in transgenic chickens is now being realised as a superior
alternative to current cell-based methodologies.
