Our solar system is approximately 5 billion years old and contains 8 planets, dwarf planets, over 170 moons, thousands of asteroids and comets that all orbit the sun. The inner solar system contains terrestrial planets Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. The outer solar system contains the gas giants Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune along with Pluto and other comets.
