In this section, we see how New Energy science helps us move toward a workable Unified Field Theory; how it helps us to understand Zero Point Energy as the mysterious "dark energy" cosmologists have long posited; and how the Big Bang most likely never happened.

Space lattice theory a grand unification of physicsslpr2013
Space Lattice Theory presents a radically new theory of the universe that describes how matter, energy, force at a distance, space and time can be explained by one single principle - a Grand Unification. Many cosmic puzzles are finally explained.
The universe: why does it exist? Why is there something rather than nothing? Where and why did structure arise: galaxies, and clusters of galaxies. This slide show is a full history of enquiry into how structure arises in the universe. It goes from Plato and Aristotle to the Nobel Prize in Physics 2011. Abstract: Dr. David Joseph Bohm an American scientist who theorized quantum mechanics in the most ordinary and understandable way, which is somewhat referred to as the “Pilot Wave-model”. Also he prophesized in neuropsychology, and gave the Holonomic model of brain affecting our view of the quantum mechanics. His theories suggest that the phenomenon of “NON LOCALITY” or quantum entanglement is due to the famous “frame dragging” phenomenon predicted by Sir. Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity.
Bohm’s theory also suggests that time doesn’t exist in the way we think it does as stated by “THE BIG CRUNCH” theory. According to it time exists due to the interacting frequencies of the waves due to particle vibrations in space and that the universe never began.
In this paper existence of quantum entanglement is used to question the degree of correctness of the Space-time fabric theory.

Metonic cycle proves,, solar planets motions depend on their cooperation,, (1)Gerges francis
I provide a new vision for the solar group
The solar planets existence and motions depend on their cooperation with each other
This vision in fact contradicts the solar group current vision…
For example, the current vision refuses to have any relationship between Earth and Pluto because of the great distance between them, where the gravity force depends on the masses and decreases with the squared distance…
My vision, on contrary, uses the Energy as source for Matter and Distance, means, the matter is created from Energy as the Equation E=mc2 tells us, and the distance is created from Energy which is my hypothesis…
That means, the solar group is created from one energy
Let's imagine that the solar group is similar to a creature body, now the same blood in this body goes to all members and connect all these members by this same blood
So, Earth is connected with Pluto by the same energy which creates the matter and distance
The main advantage in my vision or about the solar group is The Cooperation Between The Solar Planets…
Metonic Cycle which is a cycle of Earth Moon extends for 19 sidereal years = 6939.75 days provides us a good proof for my claim
So, we shall see in this paper, how Metonic Cycle can be seen as energy transports from point to another point through the solar which proves and supports my point of view.
In fact that adds more extension for our thinking about the solar group and provides a great background for Metonic Cycle which is done by the Moon without explanation, where Earth doesn't rotate this cycle which answers our old question, if the planet moves by gravity and the moon under the Earth gravity, how does the moon rotate the Metonic Cycle which the Earth (his parent) doesn't?
Actually my vision provides new knowledge for the solar group where we'll use the cooperation between the solar planets as a real factor to perform their existence and motions
Note Please/
Metonic Cycle period = 6939.75 days
= 19 x 365.25 days (19 sidereal years)
= 235 x 29.53 days (235 Synodic Months)
= 20 x 346.6 days (20 nodal years)
The previous data tell that, there's a harmony between Earth, Moon and Moon orbit motions? why? We try to answer this question in this paper…
Abstract
Hypothesis: Space is Energy and has different densities of Energy
i.e. Not all spaces have the same energy density
The Main Idea ….
Let's summarize the main idea in following:
1- The space is Energy
2- The Space has different densities of Energy
3- The space of higher energy goes to upper level where the lower Energy Space is found in lower level
4- As we see in air or water… the higher temperature air goes to up but the lower temperature air goes down.. this process uses the medium (air or water) to transfer the energy but without medium the space itself behaves by this same mechanism where the space is Energy has different densities and tries to reach the balance point of his different energy levels.
5- Also we know that, the higher places have potential energy higher than the lower places which supports the same meaning that the space different densities of energy can be distinguished by different levels of space..
6- Now let's suppose that, the planet uses the space potential energy by transferring it into kinetic energy for this planet motion…
7- So the planet is born from his space energy (his orbital distance energy) and moves by transferring this space potential energy into kinetic energy (and this explains the relationship which we have found between the planet diameter and orbital distance)
8- Based on that, Mercury is found on the most higher point (level) than any other planet and he's directly under the sun, and because of his very high position, his space potential energy is very high one where Mercury uses this high potential energy by transferring it into kinetic Energy by which Mercury moves (Mercury velocity is the highest one)
9- That means, each solar planet is found on different level relating to the other planets and based on his motion velocity.
10- i.e. Each solar planet occupies one step in stairs contains of 9 steps…. That means the solar group is in stair form and the sun is on Apex
11- Based on that, the solar planets motions trajectory must be in a pyramid form.
12- The previous idea makes the solar group motions is near to atom's particles motions which can lead to unify the physics theories.
NEW HOT-to-COOL COSMOLOGY: Amazing Progress Yet Greater QuestionsPaul H. Carr
Astronomy has progressed from astrology to precision, hot-to-cool, cosmology. Georges Lemaitre, using Einstein’s General Relativity, predicted in 1930s that our universe expanded from a primeval atom in a hot big bang. In 1964, radio astronomers detected the whispering cosmic microwave background radiation from this hot cosmic explosion. Since 1993, an increasing number of satellites have measured that this Planck black-body radiation has cooled, as it expanded, to a very cool 2.725 K. It also has fluctuations of one part in 100,000.
Alan Guth’ inflationary universe theory predicted this as arising from quantum fluctuations at the “Beginning.”
In this section, we see how New Energy science helps us move toward a workable Unified Field Theory; how it helps us to understand Zero Point Energy as the mysterious "dark energy" cosmologists have long posited; and how the Big Bang most likely never happened.

This article aims to present possible strategies for humanity to seek its survival with the end of the Universe in which we live. Research on the fate of our Universe, on the existence or not of multiverse or parallel universes and on the development of the final theory or theory of everything, that is, of the theory of the unified field, are important questions to elucidate in order to point out possible strategies for humanity seeks its survival with the end of the Universe in which we live.
THE UNIVERSE
The high-quality-supported principle of our universe's foundation facilities on an occasion called the huge bang. This idea was born of the commentary that different galaxies are shifting far from our own at top notch speed in all directions, as though they had all been propelled with the aid of an historic explosive pressure.
A Belgian priest named Georges Lemaitre first counselled the massive bang theory in the Nineteen Twenties, while he theorized that the universe started from a unmarried primordial atom. The idea acquired fundamental boosts from Edwin Hubble's observations that galaxies are rushing far from us in all guidelines, as well as from the Nineteen Sixties discovery of cosmic microwave radiation—interpreted as echoes of the large bang—via Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson.

Overcoming Limitations of "Naturalism Without Religion"Paul H. Carr
Tillich’s existential and Whitehead’s process theologies overcome the limitations of “naturalism without religion.”
Tillich, Wildman, Whitehead, and Bracken update the Bible’s promise of eternal life as well as the meaning and goal of history. Tillich’s description of religion as the Dimension of Depth resonates with Goodenough’s "Sacred Depths of Nature."
For Whitehead, the goal of the Universe is the production of beauty.
“The thirst for beauty that permeates our lives is an opening to transcendence,” according to theologian Philip Hefner.

A NEWER, MILLENNIAL TESTAMENT of the Continuing Creation since 100 CE."
The Old Testament was from about 1500 BCE to 0. The New Testament was added and completed in 100 CE.
Let's add a Newer (Millennial) Testament of the 1900-year-increase in knowledge, wisdom, and truth to the New Testament:
newer science, poetry (Psalms), and literature. The universe is still awakening and we are called to be co-creators in the continuing creation. A Newer Testament , which updates the Bible's flat earth cosmology, would help in correcting the misinformation in the popular Creation Museum in Kentucky.
Quantum Mechanics: Electrons, Transistors, & LASERS. Paul H. Carr
Quantum Mechanics, QM, has enabled new technologies that impact our daily lives. Yet, there have been at least 14 different QM interpretations in the last century. “If you think you understand QM, you don’t,” said Richard Feynman. Our macroscopic language is inadequate to describe the wave-particle duality of microscopic QM particles. Mathematics works better. This talk illuminated the production of the play Copenhagen, in which German physicist Werner Heisenberg, who directed the German attempt to make an atom bomb, visited Niels Bohr in Denmark during WWII.

Climate Change Extremes: Increasing Wildfires & HurricanesPaul H. Carr
1. CLIMATE CHANGE EXTREMES: INCREASING FOREST FIRES AND HURRICANES
2. CLIMATE CHANGE SCIENCE:

A more vegetarian diet.
From Reductionism to Emergence: Transcending Death During COVID-19Paul H. Carr
How might we reduce the above-normal death rates from COVID-19? Our hope is for science to develop a vaccine. The reductive sequencing of the parts of the coronavirus could help. Francis Collins, who led the team that developed the science for sequencing the parts
of the human genome, entitled his book The Language of God, God being the holistic creator. Religion helps us transcend death. Science itself is moving from reductionism to emergent holism, which is closer to religion.
Scientists like Wigner, Deacon, and Dickerson are developing an emergent and non-materialist worldview. Theologians Clayton and Nurnberger are working on the emergence of spirit. Carol and John Albright envision a creative Interactive World, Interactive God. Cardiologist Van Lommel’s 20-year observations of near-death experiences give evidence for life after death.
CREATIVITY: Individual & CollaborativePaul H. Carr
The Creative Process
1. Individual
"There is no logical way to discover. There is only the way of intuition, which is helped by a feeling for the order.” Albert Einstein
- The 3-step creative process: informed, unformed, transformed
- Neuroscience: listening to music inspires creativity
2. Collaborative
- Searching for truth to expand and share our limited knowledge and worldviews.
Confront COVID-19 and Climate Change NowPaul H. Carr
COVID-19 & CLIMATE: BOTH GLOBAL, TEMPERATURE INCREASE
If we wait for a crisis, it’s too late:
Time after drastic action: COVID, months;
CLIMATE, century.
The COVID “stay in place” reduced greenhouse emissions up to 17%. Reduced population.
Non-US-Deficit Increasing solution: Carbon fee plus dividend for all.
What we can do: more vegetarian diet, less airline travel, more nuclear reactors
From Theology to Fractals: Mystical to Mathematical BeautyPaul H. Carr
Mystical to Mathematical Beauty.
I traced the transition from mystical to mathematical beauty in American thought: from the theologian Jonathan Edwards in the 18th century, through natural philosopher David H. Thoreau's "Walden" in the 19th, to the mathematician, Benoit Mandelbrot's "Fractal Geometry of Nature" in the 20th century. Chapter 4 of Paul H. Carr's "Beauty in Science and Spirit,"
Paul Tillich: Climate Prophecy versus ProfitPaul H. Carr
Paul Tillich’s 1962 sermon, “Man and Earth,” was prophetic. He said, “ We have no guarantee against man-made floods….” Floods are now increasing. Global ice is melting. Sea levels are rising four times faster than in 1900 from global warming.
What are the preliminary and ultimate concerns of those who deny what 97% of climate scientists have concluded? That is, increasing carbon dioxide emissions, mostly from our profitable fossil fuel burning, are warming our planet via the Greenhouse effect.
Let’s invest in jobs with-long term payoff. Until we get a vaccine, there will be continuing unemployment in the jobs where people are close together: restaurants, theaters, sporting events, airplanes, and cruises. Grants for more energy efficient homes and industrial buildings would make jobs for local contractors. The resulting lower energy costs with lower carbon dioxide emissions would repay the cost several times over. This comes when science tells us there is no time for delay on dealing with climate change.
Joe Biden’s “build back better” will immediately invest in sustainable job creation, new industries, and re-invigorated regional economies.
To outcompete China, Americans could invent, commercialize and manufacture the new battery technology needed to store solar and wind energy and for electric vehicles. Businesses and job creators all across our country would supply the materials and parts.
Millions of construction workers are needed to build affordable housing and to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, including aging nuclear reactors. These generate 20% of our electricity with no carbon dioxide emissions. Americans are developing advanced reactors that are smaller, safer, and more efficient at half today’s construction costs.
Reform COVID19's Inequality to Avoid RevolutionsPaul H. Carr
COVID19 amplifies inequality, increasing tensions between poor Blacks, Whites, Police, and Immigrants. Economically disadvantaged Blacks joined by Whites are taking to the streets to demand reform. Economic inequality contributed to the French Revolution and to our Civil War, with the most casualties in our history.
We need reform to prevent revolutions. Karl Marx’s wrote his 1847 Communist Manifesto in response the newly rich industrialist’s exploitation of the poor workers in England. During this time, author Charles Dickens, as a boy, had to work ten-hour shifts pasting labels on bottles to support this family, because his father was confined in Debtor’s Prison.
In 1917,Trotsky led the Communist Revolution in Russia that ousted the Tsars’ monarchy. In 1924 Stalin emerged as the leader of the USSR. After WWII, the US fought the Korean and Vietnam Wars to stop the Communists from overrunning the world.
The rich, miserly Scrooge in Charles Dickens’ “Christmas Carol” underwent a conversion to a generous person who celebrated Christmas. In contrast to the Communist revolution, this can be a metaphor for the rule of law that enabled the US to overcome worker exploitation. The US passed child, labor, and anti-trust laws that constrained the power of the rich industrialists.
Since the 1980s, hourly worker pay has not increased in proportion to inflation and increased productivity. This disparity is increasing economic inequality. Most of the increased productivity pay has gone to those with education beyond a bachelor’s degree.
The minimum federal pay of $7.25 per hour has not been increased for over a decade. To keep up with inflation and productivity increases, the minimum wage should be gradually advanced to $ 20 per hour. Recently the minimum wage in Washington, DC increased to $14 per hour.
The property tax that funds public schools results in poor neighborhoods having poor schools and rich neighborhoods having good schools. State, federal, and corporate funds are needed to keep poor kids from being locked into poverty. Our high tech civilization needs an educated workforce. Let’s educate our poor rather than import educated immigrants. We must also reform our tax structure and corporate policies.
Sequel to "Transcending Death during COVID-19" Are scientific world-views con...Paul H. Carr
Religions people are more accepting of NDEs than scientists
For theologian Paul Tillich, "Our lives are limited in time but fulfilled by eternity. When we die, we return to the eternity from which we came."
What is eternity?
For Tillich, eternity is not unlimited time, but a dimension beyond time that enables us to to sense events as happening in temporal sequence.
"For the things that are seen are temporal, but things that are unseen are eternal" (Paul's Letter to II Corinthians.)
For Greeks like Pythagoras and Plato, mathematical relations are eternal, beautiful, and cosmic. Is God a mathematician?
For physicist-philosopher Paul H. Carr, beauty is a delicate dance between our subjective consciousness and the objective mathematical relationships that maintain the universe and life.
NDEs give evidence of out-of-body consciousness.
What is consciousness?
Cosmologist MIT Prof Max Tegman believes consciousness will increasingly be realized as mathematical patterns.
Consciousness for us is what information processing feels like, but this is not only material.
Anthropologist Berkley Prof Terry Deacon, believes that consciousness emerges from the firing of brain neurons but cannot be reduced to them.
Is the material world the ultimate, ontological reality? What about energy, and Spirit?
Religious Spirit is similar to scientific energy. We don't observe them directly, but infer their existence as a way of unifying complex phenomena.
Science's emergence to answer HOW is converging beautifully with religion's synthesis to answer WHY.
Transcending Death During COVID-19: Are Near Death Experiences "Proof of Heav...Paul H. Carr
Neurosurgeon Eben Alexander’s NDE convinced him we are more than bodies, and death is not the end of consciousness. Neurologist Sachs gave a naturalistic, scientific explanation, and St. Francis of Assisi reminds us, “In dying we are born to eternal life.”
Introduction:
RNA interference (RNAi) or Post-Transcriptional Gene Silencing (PTGS) is an important biological process for modulating eukaryotic gene expression.
It is highly conserved process of posttranscriptional gene silencing by which double stranded RNA (dsRNA) causes sequence-specific degradation of mRNA sequences.
dsRNA-induced gene silencing (RNAi) is reported in a wide range of eukaryotes ranging from worms, insects, mammals and plants.
This process mediates resistance to both endogenous parasitic and exogenous pathogenic nucleic acids, and regulates the expression of protein-coding genes.
What are small ncRNAs?
micro RNA (miRNA)
short interfering RNA (siRNA)
Properties of small non-coding RNA:
Involved in silencing mRNA transcripts.
Called “small” because they are usually only about 21-24 nucleotides long.
Synthesized by first cutting up longer precursor sequences (like the 61nt one that Lee discovered).
Silence an mRNA by base pairing with some sequence on the mRNA.
Discovery of siRNA?
The first small RNA:
In 1993 Rosalind Lee (Victor Ambros lab) was studying a non- coding gene in C. elegans, lin-4, that was involved in silencing of another gene, lin-14, at the appropriate time in the
development of the worm C. elegans.
Two small transcripts of lin-4 (22nt and 61nt) were found to be complementary to a sequence in the 3' UTR of lin-14.
Because lin-4 encoded no protein, she deduced that it must be these transcripts that are causing the silencing by RNA-RNA interactions.
Types of RNAi ( non coding RNA)
MiRNA
Length (23-25 nt)
Trans acting
Binds with target MRNA in mismatch
Translation inhibition
Si RNA
Length 21 nt.
Cis acting
Bind with target Mrna in perfect complementary sequence
Piwi-RNA
Length ; 25 to 36 nt.
Expressed in Germ Cells
Regulates trnasposomes activity
MECHANISM OF RNAI:
First the double-stranded RNA teams up with a protein complex named Dicer, which cuts the long RNA into short pieces.
Then another protein complex called RISC (RNA-induced silencing complex) discards one of the two RNA strands.
The RISC-docked, single-stranded RNA then pairs with the homologous mRNA and destroys it.
THE RISC COMPLEX:
RISC is large(>500kD) RNA multi- protein Binding complex which triggers MRNA degradation in response to MRNA
Unwinding of double stranded Si RNA by ATP independent Helicase
Active component of RISC is Ago proteins( ENDONUCLEASE) which cleave target MRNA.
DICER: endonuclease (RNase Family III)
Argonaute: Central Component of the RNA-Induced Silencing Complex (RISC)
One strand of the dsRNA produced by Dicer is retained in the RISC complex in association with Argonaute
ARGONAUTE PROTEIN :

Deep Behavioral Phenotyping in Systems Neuroscience for Functional Atlasing a...Ana Luísa Pinho
Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) provides means to characterize brain activations in response to behavior. However, cognitive neuroscience has been limited to group-level effects referring to the performance of specific tasks. To obtain the functional profile of elementary cognitive mechanisms, the combination of brain responses to many tasks is required. Yet, to date, both structural atlases and parcellation-based activations do not fully account for cognitive function and still present several limitations. Further, they do not adapt overall to individual characteristics. In this talk, I will give an account of deep-behavioral phenotyping strategies, namely data-driven methods in large task-fMRI datasets, to optimize functional brain-data collection and improve inference of effects-of-interest related to mental processes. Key to this approach is the employment of fast multi-functional paradigms rich on features that can be well parametrized and, consequently, facilitate the creation of psycho-physiological constructs to be modelled with imaging data. Particular emphasis will be given to music stimuli when studying high-order cognitive mechanisms, due to their ecological nature and quality to enable complex behavior compounded by discrete entities. I will also discuss how deep-behavioral phenotyping and individualized models applied to neuroimaging data can better account for the subject-specific organization of domain-general cognitive systems in the human brain. Finally, the accumulation of functional brain signatures brings the possibility to clarify relationships among tasks and create a univocal link between brain systems and mental functions through: (1) the development of ontologies proposing an organization of cognitive processes; and (2) brain-network taxonomies describing functional specialization. To this end, tools to improve commensurability in cognitive science are necessary, such as public repositories, ontology-based platforms and automated meta-analysis tools. I will thus discuss some brain-atlasing resources currently under development, and their applicability in cognitive as well as clinical neuroscience.

Richard's entangled aventures in wonderlandRichard Gill
Since the loophole-free Bell experiments of 2020 and the Nobel prizes in physics of 2022, critics of Bell's work have retreated to the fortress of super-determinism. Now, super-determinism is a derogatory word - it just means "determinism". Palmer, Hance and Hossenfelder argue that quantum mechanics and determinism are not incompatible, using a sophisticated mathematical construction based on a subtle thinning of allowed states and measurements in quantum mechanics, such that what is left appears to make Bell's argument fail, without altering the empirical predictions of quantum mechanics. I think however that it is a smoke screen, and the slogan "lost in math" comes to my mind. I will discuss some other recent disproofs of Bell's theorem using the language of causality based on causal graphs. Causal thinking is also central to law and justice. I will mention surprising connections to my work on serial killer nurse cases, in particular the Dutch case of Lucia de Berk and the current UK case of Lucy Letby.
(May 29th, 2024) Advancements in Intravital Microscopy- Insights for Preclini...Scintica Instrumentation
Intravital microscopy (IVM) is a powerful tool utilized to study cellular behavior over time and space in vivo. Much of our understanding of cell biology has been accomplished using various in vitro and ex vivo methods; however, these studies do not necessarily reflect the natural dynamics of biological processes. Unlike traditional cell culture or fixed tissue imaging, IVM allows for the ultra-fast high-resolution imaging of cellular processes over time and space and were studied in its natural environment. Real-time visualization of biological processes in the context of an intact organism helps maintain physiological relevance and provide insights into the progression of disease, response to treatments or developmental processes.
In this webinar we give an overview of advanced applications of the IVM system in preclinical research. IVIM technology is a provider of all-in-one intravital microscopy systems and solutions optimized for in vivo imaging of live animal models at sub-micron resolution. The system’s unique features and user-friendly software enables researchers to probe fast dynamic biological processes such as immune cell tracking, cell-cell interaction as well as vascularization and tumor metastasis with exceptional detail. This webinar will also give an overview of IVM being utilized in drug development, offering a view into the intricate interaction between drugs/nanoparticles and tissues in vivo and allows for the evaluation of therapeutic intervention in a variety of tissues and organs. This interdisciplinary collaboration continues to drive the advancements of novel therapeutic strategies.

Observation of Io’s Resurfacing via Plume Deposition Using Ground-based Adapt...Sérgio Sacani
Since volcanic activity was first discovered on Io from Voyager images in 1979, changes
on Io’s surface have been monitored from both spacecraft and ground-based telescopes.
Here, we present the highest spatial resolution images of Io ever obtained from a groundbased telescope. These images, acquired by the SHARK-VIS instrument on the Large
Binocular Telescope, show evidence of a major resurfacing event on Io’s trailing hemisphere. When compared to the most recent spacecraft images, the SHARK-VIS images
show that a plume deposit from a powerful eruption at Pillan Patera has covered part
of the long-lived Pele plume deposit. Although this type of resurfacing event may be common on Io, few have been detected due to the rarity of spacecraft visits and the previously low spatial resolution available from Earth-based telescopes. The SHARK-VIS instrument ushers in a new era of high resolution imaging of Io’s surface using adaptive
optics at visible wavelengths.
Our Mathematical Universe: My Quest for the Ultimate Nature of Reality

Our Mathematical Universe: My Quest for the Ultimate Nature of Reality. By Max Tegmark.
New York: Vintage Paperbacks, 2015. 432 pages. Paperback $17.00.
Professor Max Tegmark’s book is cosmology in its broadest sense: from the big bang
universe to his quest for the metaphysical, ultimate nature of reality. Tegmark’s career
parallels that of Alfred N. Whitehead, whose first magnum opus was on mathematics
followed by his second Process and Reality, An Essay in Cos- mology, which founded process
philosophy/theology. Contrary to many scientists, Tegmark is not anti-religious.
Tegmark explains the history of big bang, “hot-to-cool” cosmology in an easy to understand
manner with helpful figures. Modern cosmology originated in 1916 with Albert Einstein’s
General Relativity Theory. About 1930, the Belgian priest Georges Lemaitre used Einstein’s
equations to propose that the universe had ex- panded from an extremely small primal
atom in a hot big bang explosion.
This was largely ignored until 1964, when radio astronomers Penzias and Wil- son
discovered microwave fossil radiation noise from the hot big bang. They were awarded the
1978 Nobel Prize. They measured noise at only one frequency. In 1993, the cosmic
background explorer satellite (COBE) measured the noise of the Whispering Cosmos at
many frequencies and found that it fitted Plank’s black body radiation theory. The
temperature of the radiation was 2.752 K above the absolute zero of temperature. Thus, the
extremely hot big bang that occurred 13.8 billion years ago has cooled down to a very cool
2.752 K as the universe expanded. This is indeed “hot” to very “cool” cosmology.
The most interesting part of this book is Tegmark’s personal account of how he made a
high resolution plot of the “fossil” cosmic microwave radiation nonunifor- mities present
380,000 years after the big bang. He had convinced young Profes- sor Lyman Page to give
Tegmark the microwave telescope data Page had measured at the Canadian town of
Saskatoon. Tegmark separated the cosmological signal from the noise using his knowledge
of information theory and his ability to do computational number crunching. His beautiful
plots showed temperature varia- tions of one part in 100,000. As the universe continued to
expand, gravity ampli- fied these variations to form the stars, planets, and galaxies. The
nonuniformity in the cosmic microwave background is the same as that of the galaxies.
The next question that needed to be resolved is known as the horizon problem. How can
the universe over 14 billion light years apart be in thermal equilibrium

2. at the same temperature of 2.742 K everywhere it is measured? Professor Alan Guth’s
inflationary universe solved this problem. A tiny fraction of a second af- ter the beginning,
the big bang was in thermal equilibrium and expanded at very much faster rate than we
measure today. Guth’s theory of quantum fluctuations at the Beginning also explained the
small, one part in 100,000 nonuniformity ob- served in the cosmic microwave background
radiation. Tegmark describes Guth’s inflationary universe beginning as “the gift that keeps
on giving.” In other words, the process continues and could be creating multiple universes.
Tegmark then hy- pothesizes four types of multiuniverses, but offer no experimental
confirmation of their existence.
Present cosmology can explain only 5% of the atomic matter/mass/energy in the universe.
The remaining 27% is dark matter, which has gravity but does not emit light, and 68% is
dark energy/matter. For many decades, scientists have been unsuccessfully searching for
candidate dark matter particles. Present day cosmol- ogy has no explanation for dark
energy/matter that causes the universe’s expansion to accelerate.
In 2019, additional challenges have been measured. The value of the Hub- ble expansion
constant derived from the cosmic microwave black body theory is 67.4 km/sec. Recent
measurements of the Hubble expansion constant using Cepheid variable stars as standard
candles to measure distance give a Hubble constant of 74 km/sec. Hubble constant
measurements using red giant stars to measure distance gives a value of 70 km/sec.
Experimental error cannot explain these discrepancies.
We believe these discrepancies and the 95% of the universe that we do not understand
must be resolved before Tegmark’s multiple universe extrapolations can be credible.
We also believe that the multiuniverses are more metaphysics (beyond physics) rather
than physics. In the final chapter, “Life, Our Universe, and Everything,” Tegmark, to his
credit, includes cosmologist George Ellis, who questions whether Guth’s inflationary
beginning model is correct. Inflation may not go on forever. We have no way of measuring
the processes that Guth proposes for the beginning of the universe. We need new theories
that also explain dark energy/matter in a consistent manner.
Tegemark’s arguments for mathematics as an ultimate reality resonate with Thororeau’s
saying that the most distinct and beautiful statement of any truth must take at last the
mathematical form. Carr (2006) referenced this in his book Beauty in Science and Spirit, in
which he defined beauty as “a delicate dance be- tween mystical subjective forms and the
mathematical objective functions that maintain the universe and life.” This is similar to
Tegmark’s Chapter 9 “Internal Reality, External Reality, and Consensus Reality.” External
reality has a mathemat- ical description. Internal reality is subjective perception.
Consensus reality is what we agree upon in a classical physics sense, such as our
heliocentric solar system.
In the final chapter, Tegmark states, “Our Universe does not give life meaning, but life gives
our Universe meaning.” One top down source of meaning is that we are part of something
much greater than ourselves, as embodied by many of the world’s religions. This is in
3. contrast to antireligious scientists who say that the universe is meaningless blind chance.
Tegmark himself finds bottom up meaning in small things such as the “the beauty of the
little flowers by the roadside.”
“We live on an island of knowledge surrounded by a sea of mystery. As our knowledge
island continues to grow, the boundary on the shoreline with mystery increases” (Gleiser
2015).
