Our draft submission
1.
2. One of the ways in which our audience feedback
helped us to produce our final construction of our
products was having a draft submission of our
products. As a group we felt like this deadline was very
influential with our finalised ideas as it would give us
time to make any major amendments
before our final deadline for all of the construction.
3. Teacher Feedback
Firstly, our teacher gave us vital
feedback on how we could improve
our products through our brand
identity. Each of the elements of our
brand identity needed to be changed,
not majorly, but to make sure we were
targeting our demographics needs
and what they would want to see on
the webpage, digipak and music
video. We had to make amendments
to the colour scheme as this affected
the other two products as well as we
had to keep the colours consistent.
We found it was a hard decision to
change our colour scheme as we went
with the colour scheme of what our
target demographic first chose when
we pitched our ideas to the class
however after gaining feedback from
our teacher, we felt that changing the
colour scheme may make the overall
image of the products more appealing
and aesthetically pleasing for the
demographic.
4. As well as having to change the colour
scheme, our teacher stated that the images
that
were used were not suitable for the specific
genre of Indie Pop as they came across as
modelling shots instead of images for a
music webpage and a digipak. We had to
then make changes to these images as we
shot more photos that were more specific to
the genre. Another element that we were
advised to change was the type face of each
of the products as the font wasn’t bold
enough and wasn’t very eye catching. This
was another element that we struggled to
change as we wanted to follow the
demographics initial ideas however we
changed it slightly to make the font more
appealing and bold to stand out.
Receiving initial audience feedback was
vital when it came
to our final designs of our products as we
were influenced by all of the points
that they made as we wanted them to be
satisfied with what we were producing
otherwise our products would not be very
successful if they were put onto the
market in upcoming years. Throughout the
planning stage and the construction,
we were tied when it came to making
changes due to different views of different
elements of the designs however we took on
board all of the criticism to make
sure we could better them as much as
possible. We made all of the changes that
were noted which we then asked for more
feedback to see if the amendments were
better suited or not.
5. Our audience feedback mainly consisted of relevant points
which we could follow to improve out products instead of them
focusing on the points that were good and didn't need
improving. Many of the comments we received commented on
the brand identity which helped us improve all of our 3 products.
These features include the colour scheme as the chosen colours
did not suit 'Indie' genre. Another feature was the layout of the
webpage as it was too over crowded and overcomplicated instead
of following the convention of simple and unique. In response to
this feedback, we played around with the colour scheme before
and after we chose the layout of the website as we could decide
what colours we could finalise our ideas with. After completing
this, we asked our target demographic for more feedback to see if
they prefer our desgins with their input.
