3. Teacher’s feedback
We received detailed feedback from our teachers after we
finished our rough cuts. The main feedback for our website and
digipak was to improve the quality of the photography by using
a better camera to get higher quality photos. There was also a
recommendation to include a full band shot.
Other changes for the ancillary products included changing the
font to make it more clear and adding a pattern for the CD.
The majority of feedback that suggested change was for the
video. Points in the video where lip sync was off or the editing
was not precise were pointed out allowing us to refine the final
product. The video also needed more variation in shots and
angles. It was suggested that we use make-up but we decided
that it would not suit the style of our band.
4. Teacher’s feedback
However not all the feedback was for change. The
framing and lighting in the video was well received as
was the performance of our actors. The red lighting
matched the colour scheme of the website creating a
sense of continuity between the products. The rough
website was liked so much that not much of it had to
be altered for the final product.
We followed all of the feedback in terms of changes
except the idea of make-up as we thought it did not
suit the style of our band.
5. Audience feedback
We asked a group of people in college to view our
products then collected feedback from them. These
people were all familiar with our chosen genre so
they could better judge it. The most popular thing
was the style and colour scheme of the three
products. Similarly to our other feedback they did
not like the images. Combining our feedback
showed us the strongest and weakest points in our
products so we knew what needed to be altered to
improve for our final products.
6. Improvements
We followed the advice from our feedback. We
did another photoshoot with a higher quality
camera, reshot the video with more cameras,
added more shots and angles.
