3. Positivefeedbackreceived…
Here I have included a clear example of our audience feedback on our album cover from our web 2.0 software. This was very
helpful in being able to see whether or not we was successful in targeting our audience and how we could improve. However on
this production the feedback we received was purely positive. We had good comments made revolving around the colours used
and how professional our album cover looked. This clearly shows the impact our ancillary task has had on our target audience
and the successes we encountered throughout the creation.
4. Negativefeedbackreceived
Here I have included some negative feedback we received. One of the constructive criticisms was from a male
commenting on our album cover. From this he stated that it was ‘too girly’. This in some aspects was seen as a positive as
our main audience in which we was targeting was primarily females. However, in terms of our print advertisement one of
the comments stated that our advertisement lacked in colours. This in many lights is true, and is something in which should
be developed. However we decided to create our print advertisement like this to portray to our audience the personal
feelings in which our artist showed throughout the creation of our music video.
5. What have we learnt from feedback?
Based on our feedback we learnt that there were some improvements in
which could have been made to our finalised products, however the
overall production of our work was a success. I believe that in some
aspects, our ancillary productions could have been considered simplistic,
even though the targeting of our audience has been said to have been
positive through the feedback. Our feedback taught us that even though
what we thought would be hugely conventional of our target audience was
in fact something that needed to be developed in order to make it hugely
conventional. This, if done would have enabled an end product in which
all members of our target audience could relate to.
6. What would we have changed based on
audience feedback?
Based on our audience feedback, it became clear that our
print advertisement was perhaps too dark for our
audience, and that more colours would have brightened up
our advertisement and made it clearer for our audience.
From this it became clear that we would have developed
this had we had more time. Therefore, we would have
placed added emphasis on the spotlight behind our artist
thus making her stand out more.
Also, had we re-arranged some parts of our print advertisement, including
more captions in which would attract our audience would have been helpful.
This therefore would have attracted a broader range of audiences hence
allowing our sales to rise. I believe the rest of this print advertisement was
conventional of our target audience and portrayed our artist in a way in which
had been shown through the means of previous artists print advertisements.
In addition, I also believe that based on audience feedback, our digipak that
was created had certain aspects of simplicity. Adding a couple more features
on our back page would have developed our targeting of an audience.
7. Changes made…
Based on the audience feedback we received, it was decided that our
print advertisement was too dark, and that our target audience may not
understand the reasons as to why we chose to do it that way. Therefore
we made clear changes to our print advertisement which I believe made it
look more professional, and allowed it to correspond a lot more with our
CD front cover.
After this was created I conducted the same survey using Facebook to
see if the changes made were representative of our target audience.
Based on the feedback it was made clear that the changes made were
representational as the comments said that our digiapaks ‘colour
schemes contrast well’, and our ‘layout clearly fits its purpose’. This
helped hugely in knowing whether or not we were successful in our
changes made.
