An essential tool needed for middle
school, high school, and college
Why is organization important?
    • It is important because you change classes and
      have multiple teachers.
    • It can prevent any unnecessary zeroes
      especially when your disorganization makes it
      difficult to find your work.

Tip 1: Plastic Color-Coded Folders
• Have a separate folder for each class. If
  possible, get them in different colors and in
  plastic that way they last and you can easily
  find the colored folder that corresponds to
  that particular class.
  – Ex.) Red – ELA, Green – Math, Blue – Science, and
    Yellow – Social Studies

• Having a folder allows you to find your work
  for that class and can prevent any
  unnecessary zeroes. Without a folder, your
  completed homework can get lost in a
  jumble of papers that are crammed in your
  backpack.
• Also labeling the inside folder pockets with
  “Take Home” and “Turn In” is another way to Take Home   Turn In
  keep organized.
Tip 2: Calendar/Planner
• Use a daily calendar to
  keep track of important
  school events (homework
  and tests) and
  extracurricular activities.

• Write assignments down as
  soon as you get them and
  their deadlines.
Tip 3: Have a Special Place
• Have a special place for everything
  and always put your things away.

• Always keep things in the same place
  so you know where to look for them
  and where to store them.
