1) ORCID is a nonprofit organization that provides unique identifiers for researchers and connects their works and affiliations. It aims to solve name ambiguity issues. 2) Over 3 million researchers from over 40 countries have signed up for ORCID IDs. Major research institutions, publishers, and funders have integrated ORCID into their systems. 3) In Asia Pacific, China has the most ORCID ID holders, followed by India and Japan. Several countries have formed ORCID consortia to promote adoption.
