The purpose of this experiment is to display the numerous special media used to
isolate bacterial types, the differences between closely related groups of bacteria, the
practice of sanitation and aseptic technique in microbiology, the assessment of
naturally occurring antibiotics and other substances, and to correctly pinpoint the
characteristics of bacteria and the changes that occur when placed in different media.
Three different types of media were used in this experiment. Selective media
allows for the growth of one type of bacteria while preventing the growth of
another type. An example of selective media that was used in this experiment is the
Eosin Methylene Blue agar used for the growth of Escherichia coli. These bacteria
are commonly found in places of fecal contamination (CDC). A control group of
Escherichia coli was used as well as swabs from the student s phone and hand.
Another type of media used in this experiment is Differential/Selective media. This
media makes detection easier after the incubation period has occurred. An example
of differential/selective media used in this experiment was Mannitol Salt agar used to
isolated the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The
Mannitol Salt agar was streaked with these two control groups as well as a swab
obtained from the student s forehead using a wet cotton swab.
Another type of differential/selective media is the Mueller Hinton agar plate. In this
experiment three Mueller Hinton plates were used to compare the antibiotic resistance
of different types of bacteria. The first plate was streaked with Escherichia coli, the
second plate was streaked with Staphylococcus aureus, and the third plate was
streaked with Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
The final type of media used in this experiment was an enriched media agar plate.
Enriched media is used to provide an environment in which bacteria is able to grow.
These mediums contain nutrients that other agar plates lack, making growth difficult

Ever since ancient times, humans have used their uniquely creative minds to organize
and construct awe inspiring architecture. Our planet, once an empty canvas for
human innovation, is now coated with manmade constructions. But before towering
skyscrapers, grand hotels, and modern chapels came into existence, the world was
bejeweled with ancient forms of engineering. Two of the more popular constructions
from the ancient world include Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramidsat Giza. These
incredible megaliths are seemingly very different, but share various similarities, and
both help archaeologists gain insight to the religious beliefs and socio political
organization of the people who constructed them. Although Stonehenge and the
Pyramids are both marvels of the ancient world, the differ from each other in many
ways. While the construction for both began around the same time period
construction for Stonehenge began around 3100 BCE (Dr. Senta German) while the
pyramids began around 2580 BCE (The Great Pyramid of Giza) the time spent
building Stonehenge far exceeded the time spent building the Pyramids. Unlike the
Pyramids, Stonehenge was built in three phases. The first phase of construction

was centered around three characters Jonah, Ja mie and a drama teacher called Mr.G.
The show followed these three characters around displaying what their every day life

comedic techniques used throughout this scene are Chris Lilley s tone of voice
while playing Ja mie in my opinion makes everything funny, also stereotypes were
used were funny with the typical white snobby private girl that is displayed
throughout this episode and not just this scene. Just like the last scene satire was
again used along with taboo, a lot of the comedy portrayed in this television show
has a lot to do with satire and taboo. Pseudo science is portrayed a lot throughout
this scene with the sayings Ja mie with how she will get pregnant and how she is

To conclude, the Summer Heights High program displayed many comedic
techniques, in the two particular scene that i mentioned mainly satire and taboo
were used and also film techniques were used to show emotion that Jonahs father
was displaying when they were telling him what Jonah drew. The second scene it
