Future World Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of the "Future World" presents a unique set of challenges and
complexities. The very nature of the subject involves speculation and foresight, requiring the
writer to navigate through the uncertainties of what lies ahead. Predicting the future is inherently
challenging, as it involves a synthesis of current trends, technological advancements, social
dynamics, and a deep understanding of various disciplines.
One of the difficulties in composing such an essay is the vast scope of the topic. The future
world encompasses a wide array of aspects, including but not limited to technology,
environment, society, economy, and geopolitics. Balancing depth and breadth becomes a
daunting task, as one must delve into each area with a level of detail while maintaining a holistic
perspective on the overall future landscape.
Additionally, the rapid pace of technological innovation and societal change further complicates
the writing process. The information available is dynamic and subject to constant updates,
making it challenging to capture the most recent developments accurately. Moreover, there is a
risk of the essay becoming outdated shortly after completion, highlighting the ephemeral nature
of predictions about the future.
Furthermore, maintaining a balance between optimism and realism is crucial. While envisioning a
future world filled with possibilities is inspiring, it is equally important to address potential
challenges and ethical considerations. Striking this balance requires a nuanced approach, as an
overly optimistic or pessimistic portrayal may oversimplify the complexities inherent in
forecasting the future.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the "Future World" demands a careful blend of research,
creativity, and analytical skills. Navigating the uncertainties, addressing the multidimensional
nature of the topic, and staying current with the latest developments pose significant challenges.
However, it is precisely these challenges that make exploring the future world a thought-
provoking and intellectually stimulating endeavor.

Nasa Announced The End Of The Shuttle Program
Introduction On April 28, 2001, the Russian Soyuz rocket blasted off from the
Baikonur Cosmodrome in central Kazakhstan carrying its cargo and crew to the
International Space Station. Unlike any previous mission, this time there was a new
crew member on board. Dennis Tito, a wealthy American businessman, was the first
private citizen to go to space. He paid approximately $20 million to the Russian
space program for a seat to the ISS and back. This signaled to the world that
commercial spaceflightwas a viable business, and there are people out there that are
willing to pay to experience it. NASAannounced the end of the shuttle program in
2011, and in 2012 it launched the final Space Shuttle mission. Commercial space
flight took off soon after that as private companies started up and began to fill the
void left by the program. This is a rather new industry focused mainly on transporting
cargo to and from the International Space Station(ISS) but also on sending astronauts
and civilian travelers to space and putting satellites and other objects into orbit.
Currently there are 39 companies in this industry in the United States and these
companies are not publicly traded. Each of these companies are at different stages of
development as they strive to overcome the obstacles that in the way of commercial
spaceflight. In recent years there has been many advancement in the industry as each
company focuses on different areas in this industry and applies different
Counterculture Movement In Easy Rider
In the mid 20th century intriguing drama directed by Dennis Hopper, Easy Rider, we
were drawn back to 1969 to shed light on the influences of drugs, sex, and culture as
the characters began to question the American system in this counterculture
movement. The counterculture movement provoked an alternative lifestyle that came
about during the Vietnam War. The tensions following the protests of human
inequalities embodying racial segregation and the frustration faced with the draft
system resulted in not only the Civil Rights Movement, but the counterculture
movement as well. This film, Easy Rider, helped to formulate and to transition over to
the New Hollywoodera, or also referred to as the American New Wave. With the
experimentation of new drugs such as cocaine and marijuana, people yearned to
grasp a fresh perspective on life through the usage of these substances. These hippies,
especially the characters throughout the film, Billy and Wyatt, wanted to acquire
different forms of these perceptions so they were not viewed as inadequate within
society. The essence embodied throughout the film exhibits Billy and Wyatt aspiring
to find freedom through Hopper s usage of stylistic forms, through film editingand
cinematography. These stylistic forms do not work in isolation, but rather work
together to create the underlying message in the quest to find themselves. Even from
the very start of the film, formalist elements are exemplified throughout the camera
movement,
Agatha Christie Research Paper
What makes mystery novels so exciting? Is it the thrill of what is to come? Is it the
mental challenge to try to solve the unknown? Whatever it is, Agatha Christie has
shaped the mystery genre for history. Christie, born on September 15, 1890, lived
in the small village of Torquay. Travelling around Europe trying to find a career in
singing, and later helping out with the war effort, Christie got into writing her first
book from a dare. Christie s sister, Madge, dared Christie that she could not write a
good mystery book, and to that Christie accepted. Her first work did well, but it was
not until her sixth work, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, when she skyrocketed into
fame and still to this day is hailed as one of the bestselling authors (Christie... Show

For example, a similarity between the two is that they share the same character of
Poirot as the detective. The idea of Poirot started out when Christie was out
helping as a nurse in the war. When she saw a Belgian refugee, she thought that that
would make a good detective for her first work. Another similarity between the two
books is that narrator of the story is Poirot s assistant in the investigation. Both
novels by Christie, while both amazing in their genre, still haves some differences.
One main difference between the two stories is the setting. While The Murder of
Roger Ackroyd was set in the small village of King s Abbot, The ABC Murders
was set in 3 different cities. An additional difference in the stories is the motive. In
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, All Dr. Sheppard wanted to do is to become the one
case that the famous Poirot could not solve. On the other hand, the motive in The
ABC Murders was inheritance
The Issue Of Safe Sex On College Campuses
1.Using the guidelines for choosing a theory found in the Hayden textbook; discuss
the issue of safe sex on college campuses. You need to briefly discuss the 5 steps
and identify relevant information for each step. i.e. in step 1, tell me why safe sex
is a pertinent topic given the population. Provide justification/supporting data as
necessary. The five steps for choosing a theory include the following: identify the
health issue or problem and the population affected, gather information about the
issue or population or both, identify possible reasons or causes for the problems,
identify the level of interaction (intrapersonal, interpersonal, or community) under
which the reason or causes most logically fit, and identify the theory or theories that
best match the level and the reasons or causes. Step one is to identify the health
issue or problem and the population affected. Safe sex is a pertinent topic for college
students, because it is a known fact that many young adults experiment with sex in
college. Some researchers have found that the younger population today is
participating in more casual sex. In other words instead of sexual relationships being
just between a boyfriend and a girlfriend they often are between friends or casual
acquaintances. Considering that college students fall into the young adults category
it would be pertinent to provide education on safe sex. Step two involves gathering
information about the issue or population or both. Safe sex
Fate In A Christmas Carol
Charles Dickens, who wrote A Christmas Carol, centered the monumental novella
around Ebenezer Scrooge, a penny pinching and avaricious moneylender. In order for
Scrooge to change his fate, he must maintain the Christmas Spirit all year long.
Throughout the story, three pansophical specters show Scrooge multiple scenes from
his existence, hoping that he gains knowledge and changes before he ends up like the
rest of the phantoms. The Ghost of ChristmasPast, Present, and Yet to Come assist
Scrooge into becoming a charitable and selfless person who cares for the
underprivileged. The first spirit, The Ghost of Christmas Past, greets Scrooge
through the curtains of his bedside at one o clock in the morning. Gaining the ability
to fly, Scrooge and the ghost visit the countryside, where Scrooge spent his
childhood. He is shown his dilapidated... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ghost shows Scrooge a scene of businessmen discussing the death of a wealthy
man. He is also shown a group of people who are illegally selling the items of the
dead man to a pawn shop, as well as a poor couple who are beyond relieved that the
man passed away because they owed him money. Scrooge also finds out that the
Cratchit family is mourning over the death of Tiny Tim, their crippled son. At
first, Scrooge does not realize who the dead man is, but finally realizes that it is
himself. If he does not change his ways, his death would be unnoticed and uncared
for and Tiny Tim will die. Scrooge begs for mercy and forgiveness and begins to
apologize for his wrongdoings. Throughout the whole story, Scrooge learns his
mistakes and vows to change his attitude and actions. By the end of the novella,
Scrooge promises to live in the past, present, and future, and becomes a generous man
with a big heart. Charles Dickens wrote this book to spread Christmas Spirit in a time
of poverty, and to inspire the rich to help the poor. God Bless Us, Every
Arthritis Personal Statement
During my junior year of high school, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the
Arthritis walk in Philadelphia. Volunteering at the event allowed me to gain deeper
intellectual engagement and also influenced my future career. At the event, I had the
opportunity to meet several people who suffered with Arthritis. When observing the
many effects that Arthritis had on people it widened my eyes to the lack of
healthcare in society. By the end of the day a lightbulb went off in my head and I
knew for sure that I wanted a career in medicine. I was certain that a career in health
services was for me because each person with arthritis warmed my heart and my
mind began wondering about endless ways to better their situation. Since I was a
young girl I was sensitive, caring, and always trying to find a way to help someone
out of a bad situation. There are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Careers in the medical field will allow me to experience a life I never had, but
always dreamed of. I will finally be able to support my family financially without
struggling and I will be able to say I am the first doctor in my family. That alone is
enough to prove to myself that I actually made it. While the arthritis walk made it
obvious to me that I was passionate about working in the medical field I wasn t
really sure about the field of medicine I wanted to specialize in. I was unsure about
the field of medicine I wanted to specialize in until last year. Last year I was
diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, which is an autoimmune neuromuscular disease
that causes the fluctuating of muscle weakness and fatigue. Muscle weakness makes
it difficult for patients to chew, talk, swallow, breathe, and control eye and facial
movements. As of now, there is not a cure for this disease, but there are treatments.
Some ways to treat Myasthenia Gravis are immunosuppressants, plasmapheresis, and
the removal of the thymus gland. Suffering from Myasthenia Gravis has made me

Hearing Loss At The University Of New South Wales
Hearing loss is problem that can occur anywhere, one of the most common places
where this can occur is at a concert. Scientist at the University of New South Wales
in Australia believe that short term hearing loss after being exposed to loud
excessive noise is most likely the body s way of coping with the situation. This
defensive mechanism cannot cope or protect the earwith high frequency noise, which
could by caused by listening to loud music through headphones.
It is not the acute exposure but the continuous noise expose especially that of a high
frequency that can cause difficulties later on in someone s life. Our ears can adapt to
loud noise or frequencies but even then, like everything else they have their limits and
when you exceed those limits, it can lead to very negative outcomes.
Hearing loss can occur at any age, but this mostly affect children and young adults.
Approximately 15 percent of Americans between the ages of 20 and 69, 26 million
Americans have some form of hearing loss due to high exposure occurring in
places of work or recreational activities. About 16% of teens have experience some
form of hearing loss caused by loud noise according to a 2010 report based on a
survey from the centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC). Everything we
hear in our everyday lives has a decibel range, which it shows how loud the noise is.
Such as the humming of a refrigerator is 45 decibels, normal conversation is 60
decibels, an mp3 player at maximum
Impact Of Big Data On Business Decisions
Introduction
Since the 1970 s databases and report generators have been used to aid business
decisions. In the 1990 s technology in this area improved. Now technology such as
Hadoop has gone another step with the ability to store and process the data within
the same system which sparked new buzz about big data . Big Data is roughly the
collection of large amounts of data sourced internally or externally applied as a tool
stored, managed, and analyzed for an organization to set or meet certain goals.
The authors of [1] aim to dispel some of the current hype surrounding big data, mainly
the misnomer that it is all about technology and the process is automated. In fact
there are three critical elements requiring human expertise 1) the data must be the
right kind, of sufficient quantity, and clean 2) a specific process must be followed for
success starting with the identification of the objective 3) expert humans who know
how to use the technology, execute the big data process, and perform the mining
tasks which require significant mathematical calculations.
This article offers a view of the technical and non technical requirements of making
big data a successful endeavor for an organization. To achieve this goal the 10 step
process if big data is defined, the data mining technologies are reviewed and data
platform issues are briefly discussed.

This 10 step process and technologies discussed are required for a successful big data
The Bible And Divine Communication In The Bible
Divine communication: the contact between a higher power and a mortal. This is a
constant theme in many works of literature throughout the ages. Divine
communication comes in many forms such as oracles, prophets and direct
communication with God. In the Bible, mortals often have direct contact with God,
who is seen as a father figure. In contrast, divine communication in Oedipus the King
comes in the form of oracles and prophets, which are seen as an abstract entity. While
both God and the Oracles have the same intent of guiding and advising those
involved, individuals were more apt to listen to divine communication in the Bible
because it derived from a fatherly figure while individuals tended to reject divine
intervention in Oedipus the King because it came from an abstract source.
The Bible, which is the most sacred text in the Christian religion, has many
occurrences of individuals communicating with God. In each example of contact,
divine communication seeks to help individuals worship God. In the very beginning
of Genesis, the creation of life. In the second creation story God says to Eve you
shall not eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, neither shall
you touch it, lest you die (Genesis 3:3). Here, God is warning Adam and Eve of the
dangers that surround them in the Garden of Eden and the precautions they must
take. This proves the goal God s contact with humans on earth is to benefit them
rather than hurt them. Rather than leaving Adam
Film Paper- Training Day
I watched the movie Training Day. This movie shows many examples of unmoral
and unethical police work. Denzel Washington is a narcotics detective for the
LAPD named Alonzo Harris. His methods of enforcing the law are very
questionable during the film, if not corrupt. Harris job is to train rookie Jake Hoyt
over a 24 hour period. Many Ethical dilemmas arise for Hoyt and this presents
questions for him whether or not to follow along with Harris, and if his
methodology for ridding the streets in South Central Los Angeles is right or wrong.
As watching the movie we realize that there are a few theories that came up.

Alonzo says that he would have Jake s blood falsified in exchange for Jake s
cooperation. Jake has to agree at this point. Alonzo again urges Jake to drop his
naГЇve view of police work. Alonzo abuses his authority, power, persuasion, and
force (187, Pollack) throughout this entire film. Jake and Alonzo move on to the
gangster s house named Smiley. When they get into the house Alonzo says he has
to use the restroom and leaves Jake alone. Jake realizes a bit later that Alonzo has
left him on his own. While on his own he figures out from Smiley that Alonzo
owes the Russian MOB 1 million dollars by midnight or be killed. At the that time
Jake realizes that he needs to get out but is stopped and dragged to the bathroom
and a gun put up to his head. But turns out that he protected Smiley s cousin in the
alley earlier that day and was set free. Jake starts to look for Alonzo and finds him
Sara s apartment and tries to arrest him. While this is all going on Alonzo tries and
gets the crowd around him to kill Jake, offering to pay them. No one took up on
the offer and just walked away. He gets away and runs to LAX and while there the
Russian MOB fire at him while in his car and they kill him. Jake finally feels some
relief until he turns on the news to see them saying Alonzo died while serving a
warrant to a high risk person at LAX. As watching the movie we
What Is The Most Effective At Covering Up The Smell Of
Air...
Introduction: Odors are common, pleasant or unpleasant scents that we experience
daily in all different forms. More often than not, the term odor is used in a
negative context. There are different forms of deodorizers that help to prevent the
spread of odors, especially unpleasant ones. This experiment was designed to
analyze three different air fresheners Febreze, Glade, and Lysol, to determine
which one works best at covering up the unpleasant odor of garbage. I hypothesize
that Febreze will work best in blocking unpleasant kitchen scents. I feel that each
one of these air fresheners most likely work to some extent; however, in the end, I
feel that Febreze will be the most effective at covering up the smell of garbage
because of previous experiences using this air freshener in the past.

To begin, three large zip block bags were labeled with each of the different brands
of air fresheners. Next, each bag was lined with the white pad that is found under
packaged meats and tightly sealed. Then, each bag filled with left over food from a
meal and set aside on the counter after being tightly sealed. The three bags sat at
room temperature for two days. Once the two days passed, three sprits of the air
fresheners were sprayed into each of the designated bags and sealed for one hour.
After allowing the bags to sit for an hour, each bag was opened in a designated area
to be able to distinguish the effectiveness of the air freshener. When opening each
bag, the air freshener was sprayed two times outside in the surrounding area of the
bag. Each bag and the surrounding area were rated on a scale of one to ten on how
well each of the odors were covered
Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and Bram Stoker’s
Dracula Essay
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein and Bram Stoker s Dracula
Evil features in both Dracula and Frankenstein but the personification of this evil is
different in both novels. A feeling of menace and doom pervades Dracula because of
his supernatural powers. One feels that he has control of the evil and he has the
power to manipulate the environment and people for his own ends. Frankenstein
centres on the creation of a monster made from parts of dead bodies and the fear
created by the monster due to circumstance and the ignorance of society. Also, one
feels a certain amount of apprehension that the monster is deserted by his creator and
loses control without his support and guidance.
The novels were written in the 19th century, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Many scenes in Frankenstein are pastoral, thus creating a non threatening atmosphere,
however, it is circumstances and ignorance which result in the creature becoming
despised and hunted which in return change his nature and character when he seeks
revenge for the injustices done against him. Dracula, from the beginning, is the
embodiment of evil he plots and schemes. One could make excuses for him and say
he needs blood or he becomes extinct and it is a form of self preservation. This is
so, however, throughout the novel we are faced time and again with examples of
gratuitous malevolence he makes no distinction between man or woman, child or
baby. Many scenes in Dracula are set in the dark and ominous Castle Dracula, this
results in a pervading atmosphere of apprehension.
In Frankenstein there were reasons behind the monster s actions but this is not the
case in Dracula , apart from him needing blood to exist. Dracula callously uses
people and situations for his own ends, Monster, give me my child! here a woman
from the village has had her baby snatched by Dracula, she knows Dracula has
taken him and is pleading for the life of her child. The child is, of course, dead and
this shows how little regard Dracula has for the innocence of any creature, then he
uses his power over the wolves to command them to come to the woman and devour
her. Towards the end of the novel, Dracula uses his power over Mina
Chapter Three Of A Monster
Chapter Three A Monster in My Side We tore through the night down dark country
roads, wind slamming into the pickup. Rain lashed the windshield. I didn t know
how Mom could see anything, but she kept her foot on the pedal. Each time there
was a flash of lightning, I glanced at Simon sitting in the backseat, and I wondered
if I d gone mad or if he was wearing a robe, cone shaped hat, and elf shoes. All I
could think to say was, So, um, you and my dad know each other? Simon s gaze
flitted to the rearview mirror, though there were no cars behind us. Yeah, sure, he
said. We work together. Oh, so what exactly do you do? That doesn t matter right
now. Then why The less you know, the fewer monsters you ll attract, Simon said,
like that should be perfectly obvious. At least that s what it says in the book.
Monsters wait a minute, what do you mean? The howling rose up again from
somewhere behind the truck, closer than before. Whatever was chasing us was
still on our trail. Aiden, my mom said, there s too much to explain and not enough
time. We have to get you to safety. Safety from what? Who s after me? Oh, nobody
much, Simon said. Just Renwick and a few of his minions. Simon! Sorry, Ms.
Greene. Can you drive a little faster, please? I tried to wrap my mind around what
was going on, but I couldn t do it. I knew this wasn t a nightmare. My eyes were
open. Mom made a hard right. We turned sharply onto a narrow road, racing past

1850 s Economic Perspective
Thesis The economic perspective of an adolescent period of American History
1850 1900 is filled with opportunity, drama, and great success and it leaves us with
its reticence today. Technology, great and not so great individuals, governmental
applications, and the effects of the business cycle all contributed to the mix. Each
of these played a part of the great success and or the great undoing of each other
over the course of time. The 1850 s were an incredible beginning to a period in our
nations economic history and in my opinion were the beginning of an era of
adolescence. Our counties body, brain, and emotions were growing at different rates

Abstract This Paper includes the development of domino CMOS technology for
the design of XOR gate. Low power dissipation is one of the main design
considerations for high level performance circuits. The leakage power dissipation is

The third source of power dissipation is leakage power dissipation. In the
MOSFET, the leakage current comprised of six short channel mechanisms.
Reverse bias PN junction leakage, sub threshold leakage, gate oxide leakage, gate
current due to hot carrier injection. Gate includes drain leakage and channel punch
through current. Among these components the two main contributes of leakage
are reversed biased PN junction current and sub threshold current . Dynamic power
P=CLV2DDfc Leakage power Pleakage=VDDllarge Lowering the supply voltage is
the most effective way to achieve low power performance VDD is directly
proportional to the leakage power. If the supply voltage reduced and keeping the
constant threshold voltage at its original value results in drastic degrading in
speed because as the supply voltage is reduced the gate drive voltage (VDD VT)
reduces and thus the delay increases since propagation delay in a CMOS.To
overcome the delay degradation threshold voltage (VT) is to be reduced. Reduction
in threshold voltage causes an exponential increase in sub threshold leakage current.
As one continues to scale down supply voltage and threshold voltage . In this paper,
a low leakage domino XOR circuit is proposed. Proposed circuit employed mixed N

Reflection On Business Luncheon

experience a business luncheon under the guidance and planning of Dr. Griswold. It
took place on October 11, 2017 from 11 am to 12:15 pm at Student Center 170. The
point of this experience is for the class to practice networking with local healthcare
leaders and learn from it. Experiencing this event should allow the class to have better
preparations for future professional events. This paper will entail my reflections on
the business luncheon mainly, the activities surrounding it, my reactions, and
connections between the event and my classes. In the beginning of the semester, the
business luncheon was mentioned, and the class was continually updated about...

Adebola works at Centric Federal Credit Union as a Marketing/Community Partner
Coordinator; she has background experience in other healthcare fields such as
being an administrative specialist in a hospital. She was very friendly and open
allowing most of our tensions to dissipate and relax around her. In addition, her life
story was very interesting such as being from Nigeria and was involved with track
for a while. We were able to go through all the common questions; her answers were
memorable as well. We kept the conversation going throughout the luncheon and
had a great time. My overall reaction to this event was positive. At first, I was a
nervous and stressed because I have never network with a healthcare leader in a
professional setting like a business luncheon. It was also mainly due to not
knowing what to expect once it happened even though we were prepared for it.
However, during the event, I felt much more at ease especially with Adebola s
happy and open personality. The atmosphere was very cozy and felt casual formal as
well. I was able to converse normally without feeling intimidated. It was not terrible

The Story Of Herodotus And Darius
The logic of the plot, as it appears in Herodotus and Darius, cannot be denied. The
essential problem to be settled was that of power, pure and simple. From the
beginning, the problem with the desire to eliminate Bardiya was that there was no
heir, since Cambyses, as everyone knew, had died without male issue. According to
Herodotus, it was not until after the murder of the magus and his companions that the
Seven addressed the issue: The conspirators met to discuss the situation in detail. At
the meeting certain speeches were made some of our own countrymen refuse to
believe the were actually made at all; nevertheless they were. There theses are then
presented, discovered by Briant, defended respectively by Otanes, Megabyzus, and

Relationship Between Tom Robinson And Atticus
Ana Huajardo Sartorius The Essay of Atticus and Tom Robinson In the novel, To
Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, in a town called Maycomb, live two completely
different people, totally unaware of each other, until they aren t. Atticus Finch is a
lawyer with two kids, Scout and Jem Finch. The Finches are the family that
originally founded Maycomb, so Atticus is very well known. Tom Robinson is a
African American man who gets accused of raping Bob Ewell s daughter, Mayella
Ewell. Atticus is Tom s Robinson s lawyer for the case, sparking lots of controversy
between the two races, African Americans and Whites. It s hard for Atticus to accept

In Chapter 18, Mayella Ewell accuses Atticus of mocking her when he was just
trying to be polite. Judge Taylor responds by saying, That s just Mr. Finch s way,
he told Mayella: We ve done business in this court for years and years and Mr.
Finch is always courteous to everybody. He s not trying to mock you, he s trying to
be polite. (243) This shows that Atticus is polite and nice to everyone he meets,
including Mayella who lies, even in court. People often mistake his politeness for
mocking, like Mayella did since not a lot of people are polite to Ewell s. In
Chapter 1, Atticus defends two criminals, urging them to plead guilty so they
could lead an easier life. It says, Atticus had urged them to accept the state s
generosity in allowing them to plead Guilty to second degree murder and escape
with their lives, but they were Haverfords, in Maycomb County a name
synonymous with jackass. (5) This shows that Atticus looks out for people, even
people who are wanted criminals and uneducated. Atticus tries to give them the
opportunity for a better life than the one they were raised up believing. Atticus was
trying to make the Haverfords lives better because he felt that no one, even
criminals deserve that kind of pain. In Chapter 5, Atticus catches Dill, Scout, and
Jem sending a letter to Boo Radley, urging him to come out. It says, Atticus took it
and tried to read it. Why do you want Mr. Radley to come out? Dill said, We thought
he might enjoy us... and dried up when Atticus looked at him. Son, he said to Jem, I
m going to tell you something and tell you one time: stop tormenting that man. That
goes for the other two of you. (65) This shows that Atticus understands things from

Some of Target s strengths are its growth. In less than 100 years, Target has grown
to over 1,790 stores and over 300,000 employees. MBA Lectures says that 97% of
American consumers are familiar with Bullseye (SWOT Analysis of Target
Corporation (2010, September 19.)). Knowing the logo and mascot of any
company is a huge deal for the company. You may see a bullseye somewhere else,
such as a dart board in a toy store, and think of Target. In 2009, Target was listed 28
on the Fortune 500, making it the second largest retailer in the United Statesbehind
Walmart. Shopping at Target does not mean you have to actually physically drive to
the store. Target has an online website and a mobile app so people can shop anytime,
anywhere (SWOT Analysis of Target Corporation(2010, September 19), Target

They tried moving into Canada, but failed and had to close the store. Another
weakness, that is particularly interesting is that Target does not play music in any
of their stores. This might not seem like a weakness, but other stores, such as
Starbucks and Sears, do play music. When you walk into a store that is playing
music, depending on the music you may feel relaxed or you may want to dance, but
it lifts the mood for people who are shopping (SWOT Analysis of Target Corporation

Quantitative Approaches To Managerial Decision Making

Quantitative Approaches to Managerial Decision Making Professor Cavaness
December 3, 2017 Introduction In order to run a successful company, the company
will need to understand how much is being spent and how is the money being
utilized. When a company creates a financial statement, it allows investors and
stockholders to determine the company worth and what direction the company
maybe going. This will also allow company to see if they are gaining or losing
profits. In turn this will help companies to make better decision for the company.
Today we will look at the company Ross. I will create a financial analysis project
that will help my readers learn more about Ross. History of Ross Ross first came
on the seen in August of 1982. They bought out six department stores in the San
Francisco Bay area. A few years later in 1985 as matter of fact, Ross began to trade
publically. After their first fiscal year they reported making 534 million dollars. By
this time, Ross had 121 stores in 16 states. Wanting to focus on revamping
management, the slowed down on open more stores. By the end of 1989 Ross had
154 stores opened in 15 states. After this Ross tried to change strategy, which
resulted in loss in sales in the same stores that were once striving. By 1990 Ross
went back to what made them sales in the beginning. By the end of this year they
made $804 million dollars. They
Special Effect Of Special Effects
Movies have been another form of media to bring little dreams into big
realities, through cameras, acting, and many different special effects. Special effects
have played a special part of the filmmaking process and has evolved through the
years using a combination of improved practical effects, and computer generated
effects to provide a visually stimulating movie experience. Special effectscan only do
so much, however successful movies have been comprised with a proper balance of
all the elements of a movie, such as story, acting, and also the concept as well. The
movie industry currently relies too heavily on special effects rather than plot and
other elements which compromises the cinematic integrity;therefore to protect the
filmindustry, future special effects should be used to compliment a film s thematic
direction. The first special effect was in 1985 created by a man named Alfred
Clarke, who was filming for a beheading scene in a movie (New World
Encyclopedia). This scene was executed by having them film normally up to the
beheading, once it got up to there Alfred Clarke paused the camera and told
everyone to stop at their place in which the person being beheaded would be
switched out with a dummy and the dummy would be the one being beheaded. This
technique would then be called the stop trick and would be classified as a practical
effect (New World Encyclopedia). This would open up a lot of possibilities for the
cinema world because even with this simple trick
Action Camera Research Paper
What features to look out for when choosing an action camera could be a jungle
for a novice user but after many years of experience trying to catch that special
moment from my own extreme sports I have found a few things that will make a
difference when you go out to find an action camera. What I have learned from my
experience could be of great value to you if you do not want to miss out on that
perfect moment which I have done so many times in the past because of lack of
knowledge on what features my action camerashould have.
First you need to know in what context you need to use your recordings and for
what purpose because if you need to broadcast this you might want to go for a
large, expensive and pro camera but on the other hand you might as well pick a
small, handy and lightweight action camera because now a days you can get really
good quality recordings with this which might be enough if it is only for home use or
the Internet.
My first choice is to find a handy action camera that is small and lightweight
because when doing extreme sports I can not be tied down to a large camera I
have to be able to move which is not as easy with a larger camera. The camera also
needs a minimum of protection so it will not break with just a small hit or drop to the
ground. The protection you will find in many variations just ... Show more content on

Many action cameras today comes with indicators that is lit when camera is working
but usually with very little light to save battery time just make sure it is not so little

camera that will work OK in both day and night
Irony In The Screwtape Letters By C. S. Lewis
The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis is a book made up of 31 letters of teaching,
communication, and familial advice communicated with the only two physical
tempters in the book, Screwtape, the mentor, and his young eager to learn nephew or
mentee, Wormworth. Screwtape uses the letters to aid him in influencing his nephew
to do as he does in actions, thoughts, and in his work and convinces him to follow
the way of Satan, their Father and to follow in both Screwtape and the Devils path.
Wormworth s patient is a young male who has newly tried to connect with the Enemy
, God. Screwtape uses very common flaws, some of which are, materialism, physical
attraction, and gluttony to try to draw him away from God, and brainwash him into
believing all of his thoughts and detesting all outside sources as much as he can.
The letters utilize reoccurring literary devices utilized throughout the letters, two of
the most prevalent are satire and irony. The Screwtape Letters are infused with
Irony, through statements that the readers see and comprehend as see as what is
most commonly perceived in human culture. Especially when the two refer to the
person whom Wormworth is trying to assimilate to his ways, as his patient when
conventionally people think of a patient as someone you are trying to help not
hinder, in this case, as well as Screwtape referring to God as deceitful and disloyal
while he and Wormworth are not even loyal to one another, and followed the
teachings of Satan, the leader of deceit. He uses satire throughout the entire format of
the 31 letters. experienced devil is helping the younger one become better at what
they do.
The Nineteenth letter opens many doors in learning the true characteristics of
Screwtape. Up until this point he has written his letters in a stern, friendly, and
affectionate mentoring tone trying to influence his protГ©gГ© Wormwood to do to
his patient as Screwtape has done to his in the past. But now in the nineteenth letter
the readers are now enlightened to how synthetic his exchanges have been thus far.
This chapter reveals the true malicious nature of both Screwtape and Wormwood,
neither of them have any sense of loyalty to one another. Screwtape is especially

Zest Analysis
Zest is a thick and yellow gel that is designed for medium to strong hold. The first
thing you gonna notice about Zest is its excessively overwhelming scent. Well, that
is understandable when the product is packed with up to 3 synthetic scenting agents:
Fragrance, Lilial and Hydroxycitronellal. That is not to mention a bunch of nature
oils that contribute to Zest s strong scent: Sweet Wild Orange Oil, Tagetes Oil,
Viola Odorata, Citrus Aurantium Amara, etc. With 70% of the ingredients are
scenting agents, we are left with a powerful refreshing lemony and floral aroma. The
other 30% includes some holding agents (PVP and Orange Juice) and bulking
agents. PVP works well keeping your hairin place while DRF Alcohol helps to
evaporate the moisture from Orange Juice and those nature oils create the stickiness
and firmness to the hair.
The application can be tricky. Because it s so thick, a little does go a long way and
overloading you hair with this will definitely weigh your hair down and make it
greasy. In order to get the right amount out of the pot, you should tapping your
fingers on to the gel, the product will gradually stick up to your skin and thus you
will have better control of how much gel you using. I am not recommend the hard
way of digging your finger in or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fine hairs tend to be weigh down by Zest s texture. Again, because it so thick,
applying it on damp hair will help distribute the gel much more evenly. It also
works better and becomes less stickier when you use heat after applying the
product. About a year ago when I still curl my hair after every wash, I always put
Zest on the ends of my hair and then curl it at 180 C degree. This extra step makes
my hair feel so smooth and considerably soft (compare to spray or wax). Most
importantly, the curl stay put well until my next wash (4
George T-Shirts Essay
Question 1: What are the possible financial outcomes if George orders 5,000 shirts,
7,500 shirts and 10,000 shirts, respectively?
Based on the information given in the case, the expected number of attendees is:
E(x) = 80,000*0.25 + 50,000*0.5 + 20,000*0.25 = 50,000 people
Selling price per shirt: $100/12 = $8.33
Discount price: $1.5
Scenario 1:
Assumption: George orders 5000 T shirts; cost: $17,750; the number of attendees
buy his T shirts are 5%, 10% and 15% respectively
The possible financial outcomes under scenario 1 are as follows:

How much is perfect information worth to him?
George would use the information to maximize his profit. In question 1, George
did not have perfect information about the future, therefore his best bet was to take
the conservative route based on assumptions, and estimations. For instance, the
profit he made based on the assumption in scenario 1 (50,000 people would come,
10% will buy his T shirt) is $23,900. If he had perfect information, say he knew that
the number of attendees would be 80,000 and 10% of them would buy a shirt from
him, he would place an order of exactly 8000 T shirts.
Assumption: He pays $5 for one extra T shirt in excess of 7,500 pcs. * Cost =
$25,250 + 500*$5 = $27,750 * Revenue = 8,000*8.33 = $66,640 * Profit = $66,640
$27,750 = $38,890
Perfect information is worth: $38,890 $23,917 = $14,973
Question 4: Assume George makes T shirts for 30 events per year:
Should George quit his day job and become a T shirt entrepreneur full time?
I will need the following information to address this question. 1) How much is his
income at his current job? 2) Is the income from making T shirts more or less
substantial than his current job? 3) Based on the question he potentially has an
event every 12 days. How big are these events? Are they all as lucrative as the
current event? 4) What is the competitive landscape? Is he the only special events T
shirt maker? If not, how competitive is it? 5) Are there any potential changes
The Effects Of Physical Health On Education
During school kids can have many factors affecting their education. One of the
main factors is their physical health. Physical health affects everything because if
your body doesn t want to correspond then you can t do well. One can get too
stressed and they can stop eating and if people don t eat they don t perform well in
school. One can get ill leading them to stop going to school for a while and their
education starts to get affected. Girls can also have sexual interaction leading to
pregnancyand they can stop their education and continue it later or stop for good.
Also if teenagers get injured they can be in the hospital for a time leading them to
fail. Physical health affects education because whatever the body experiences affects
the student s performance, it can be from getting abused to physical activity.
Stressed out? Stress is very common in children/teenagers and it can result on them
not corresponding with school and their grades going down since school is the main
factor of the stress. Stress can affect the health then later affecting education. When a
child experiences stress, the hypothalamus releases a hormone that rushes to the
neighboring pituitary gland. The pituitary gland then mobilizes the production of a
second hormone that swims via the bloodstream to adrenal and cortisol. Adrenaline
accelerates the child s heart rate and elevates the blood pressure. Cortisol pumps up
the blood sugar level, elevating the child s muscle and memory power and

index score fell within the average range compared to same age peers. On the
aphasia screening, TV s responses suggested difficulty with reading and dyslexia.
Physical Appearance:
TV presented with average height and above average weight for her age. She had
adequate hygiene, was well groomed, and dressed casually in a t shirt, jacket, denim
jeans, and sandals. There were no oddities or eccentricities to the client s appearance.
Affect:
In general, TV presented with a euthymic mood and congruent affect, as she was
mostly pleasant and friendly for the duration of the evaluation. However, her mood
occasionally fluctuated, as she became noticeably irritated, sarcastic, and pessimistic
towards the examiner before lunch and when confronted with difficult tasks.
Unusual Thoughts/Behaviors:
Throughout the evaluation, TV occasionally acted younger than her stated age. For
example, at various times during the evaluation, she made juvenile comments (i.e.,
super speedy powers ), and communicated with the examiner in a more immature

Close Reading of Middleton and Rowley s The Changeling
Essay
Within Middleton and Rowley s The Changeling the selective use of language
accentuates various ideas and notions, demonstrating the capability words have in
manipulating perceptions. It is the strategic placement of double entendres on behalf
of DeFlores that greatly affect consequences, as disguising his lustful intents as
honesty aids in the damnation of himself and Beatrice. Although deceiving in nature
only to Beatrice, through the insertion of asides, only the audience remains
knowledgeable of these entendres, causing troublesome irony. Furthermore, it is the
manipulation of language that really accentuates the effects of Beatrice s ignorentia,
causing her to descend the social order, and, incite her objectification. Hence, it is...

Accounting Game Of Deyonne Essay

Accounting game 1:
Deyonne s assets: 1. 400 sheep 2. 20 acres of land 3. A one room cabin 4. A plow 5.
Two carts 6. An ox
Deyonne s liabilities and deduction of assets: 1. 35 sheep 2. 3 sheep
Due to the information, 20 acres of land equal 80 sheep according to the exchange
rate of last year, a one room cabin equal 3 acres of land and equal 12 sheep finally, a
plow equals 2 goat and equal 2/3 sheep according to last year s exchange rate and 2
carts which were traded with a poor acre of land equals 8 sheep plus 400 sheep. So
Deyonne s total assets are 500(2/3) sheep. Deyonne s liabilities and assets deduction

Therefore, Batonne is wealthier. Accounting game2: Deyonne s income of current
year: 80 sheep Deyonne s loss of current year: 1 ox (equals 5 sheep) Batonne s
income of current year: 1. 20 sheep 2. 40 sheep (which were traded for 10 acres of
land) 3. 5 coats (which worth 25 goats and equal 8(1/3) sheep finally) Explanations:
1. Because it is the comparison of income, the loss of Deyonne cannot be deducted
from the total amount of his income. 2. Batonne traded 40 sheep for 10 acres of
additional land, but the sheep derived from his income. So the 40 sheep should
also be counted as his income. 3. Batonne s wife received 25 goats due to order of
sailing, which should be regarded as part of income. But the other order, which
has not been realized, cannot be regarded as income. 4. As for the 18 sheep that
Batonne traded for food and clothing items and 7 sheep that Deyonne did similarly,
they were part of their original property. So they cannot be regarded as income.
Consequently, according to the information, Deyonne s income of last year was
80 sheep, while Batonne s income was that 20 sheep plus 40 sheep that were
traded for 10 additional land and 5 coats equaling 8(1/3) sheep. Therefore, Deyonne s
income of 80 sheep was versus Batonne s income of 68(1/3) sheep. Deyonne s
income was greater for the past
Ancient Egyptian Art Propaganda Essay
The ancient civilisation of Egypt has always been an admirable one, and until this
day it is still full of mysteries. Despite all the discoveries that archeologists have

People considered pharaohs as they were descended from gods; however pharaohs
knew that they are normal beings. Of Course they couldn t show that to the people,
and in order to keep their majestic image they turned to making such spectacular
breathtaking status, tombs, and paintings. The ancient Egyptian art propaganda was
probably a reflection of what they believed in. A great example, is The Valley of the
Kings. For over 500 year pharaohs used that valley as royal graveyard and where they
built their tombs. Ancient Egyptiansbelieves in the afterlife clearly showed on the
walls of the tombs and in the contents of them. They believed that whenever the
pharaohs die in this life he will resurrected in the afterlife; therefore, they prepared
the tombs with everything the pharaohs would need for his journey to the afterlife.

It was a custom for new pharaohs to start building their eternal life houses.
However, king Khufu probably wanted a more special house. The architectures of

Gender Roles Of Civic Duties And Raising Children
Throughout Vibia Perpetua s life, Roman society expected her to follow structured
gender roles of civic duties and raising children in her community because she was
female. Perpetua defied the expectations placed upon her since birth by converting to
Christianity and used the freedom of the Christian religion to show her independence
and create her own role as a woman. This essay will analyze Perpetua s defiance of
the gender expectations of civic hood and motherhood of the Roman community, and
how the Christian community allowed her to define her own identity as a woman on
her own terms in conflicting societies.
In Perpetua s time, the role of a woman within the Roman culture was determined
narrowly against gendered expectations. Early Roman society families had a
patriarchal structure meaning the father was the head of the family. The strongest
tie within the family was that between a father and a daughter. Daughters were
expected to [forge] political and social ties for fathers (Salisbury 6). A Roman
daughter was favored the most; they received the best education overseen by their
fathers. The purpose of a strong education was to pass on to their sons the values of
Rome as well as help her to be a good mother in the future (Salisbury 7). One
expectation of a woman in the Roman culture was reproduction in order to continue
lineage. In addition to structured family and social rules, Roman women joined cults
with specific rituals for females to perform. A woman s role

My Most Unforgettable Week Of My Life
POW! I dive left to go for the save. The game had just ended and we were now in
the penalty shootout. I had to make so many saves in the game to get us to a PK
shootout. Back in March, my parents signed me up for the soccer camp with a
friend. Last year my parents won a ticket for the soccer camp, at first I did not want
to go but since the camp was full and there were no other tickets I had to go so I
did. After the first two days I really liked the camp, by the end of it I realized that it
would have been more fun with a friend. This year we got a friend that could go to
it this time. There were supposed to be three of us, but one of the friend s parent
forgot to sign their kid into the camp. This was my most unforgettable week of my
life because this was just such a good camp, plus I got one of my highlights of my
goalie career to me. The camp that I went to was at Dail soccer/track complex at
NC State University. It had a baseball field right next to it with a camp going on for
softball. It also took place on the other two fields across the street, yet there is a
tunnel underneath the street that we took. For the games for overtime it did not
work the same as normal we went straight to the penalty shootout, instead of
having two overtime periods. This week happened to me because my parents were
able to sign me up for the camp. My parents learned about the camp from last year.
They had won a ticket into the camp and since it was sold out my parents looked at
the web page for it to see what it was about and thought I would enjoy it, so I went
to it. On the first day of camp we went and filled everything out so I could have fun
and any insurance for the camp, I don t know I went to the camp to have fun I did
not pay any attention to the signing in anything else to start the camp. After that, I
went and found my group I was supposed to be in which turned out to be the
second goalie group. In the second goalie group, we were more like a group of
people that have some problems with ourselves. Most of the people in our group
would talk when our coach talked or wanted them to pay attention. Then there were
the other people, like me, in the group who wanted to get as far as possible in
training and wanted to

Harrah s Hotel Casino is an exciting entertainment destination in the heart of the Las
Vegas Strip, offering its customers first class hotel accommodations, gaming,
entertainment and promotions. With so many hotels and casinos in the Las Vegas
valley, one must determine its goals and vision to guarantee that it stands out from
the competition, offering its customers unprecedented service while providing unique
incentives for its employees.
Mission statement.
A company s vision is a general statement of its intended direction that evokes
emotional feelings in organization members. (Dessler, 2003). The mission statement
determines the type of business it will be by setting the purpose for the company, and

Formulate Strategy to Achieve Goal
Standout Strategy:
With a variety of casinos on the strip, it is hard to stand out and become the leading
casino on the Las Vegas strip; however, with the right stand out strategy it is not
impossible. Harrah s will have to implement a plan to stick out from the rest of the
casinos. For example the Mirage has a volcano, Paris has an Eiffel Tower and
Treasure Island has a pirate show just to name a few. Do you see a theme? Without a
prominent attraction, Harrah s will concentrate on our other features like the
reputation of its sister properties, the fun atmosphere, friendly staff and high quality
technology to attract its customers.
Second Stop Strategy.
With the help of our sister properties all over the world, Harrah s can encourage
customers to visit any other our other Harrah s properties and insure them that they
will receive the same wonderful experiences as they do from the Las Vegas property
and visa versa. The Harrah s club card will be valid at all Harrah s locations and
club card holders are able to increase their points no matter which Harrah s they visit
but they earn extra points for playing at the Harrah s on the Las Vegas strip. It is
kind of like frequent flyer miles, where the customer can use any airline but will
receive better prices or incentives for traveling on a certain airline.
Customer Opinion Strategy.
The customer s
Analysis Of Ung Chang s Wild Swans
ung Chang s Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China follows three generations of
woman in China through live and political struggles. China s transformation
between 1910s and 1970s, was one of radical change and caused great suffering.
The importance of Chang s book is its in a women s point of view by showing the
suffering and healing that occurred and to educate about the history of Chinathrough
the Warlord, Japanese, and Mao rule. The book is laid out through three generations:
grandma, mom, and the author. Though, it could be looked at through the Warlord
period, Japanese rule, and the Communist rule. Grandma s story started in the
warlord period of China. Mom s story was through the Japanese control and Pre
Mao. The author s story was through Mao s rule of China. The book is organized by
the history of the familyand China. It goes both through the story of China and her
family. It shows the progression of China through the lives of her family and her.
Each chapter of Wild Swans contributes to Chang s main point by stacking one idea
on another. One event leads to another. For example, the Chinese were treated terribly
under the role of the Japanese. After Japan lost World War II, Soviet and Mongolian
troops entered China.1 This lead the Chinese to revolt against the Japanese who were
still living in China by school children beating up their Japanese teachers.2
Afterwards, two parties, the Communist and the Kuomintang, started to battle each
other to become the
Teratogens Research Paper
The class discussion and textbook reading highlight some very important topics, such
as the many types of teratogens and how it could really impact the child. We also
discussed how the temperament and how there are three type of infants that the child
could possibly fall into. The attachment of the child towards its caregiver and theory
of moral development was also part of the growing of the child and how they act
towards their surrounding.
Chapter three discussed many different types of teratogens, which means that it is a
substances or viruses that could cause damage during prenatal period, and it is also
very harmful during the embryonic period also known as the critical period because

We also talked about how two out of three of all infants fall into three different
types of temperament. Based on the three types of temperament I am pleased to say
that I am the trap that made my parents want another baby. My mom would always
tell me stories of how peaceful I was as a child and that neighbors and family friends
love me because I am very adaptable toward strangers and always smiling at people.
With that I believe that I am an Easy Baby based on what my parents had told me,
and with the way I interact with people, they wanted one more baby. Then there s
my brother who was very cute as a child but when he was put outside the house and
visit family friends, he would always find a way to get my parents mad and then it
makes them not wanting to go out the house anymore. My brother is a Difficult
Child. This could relate the what my professor had said in class about how
majority of the times the first born child is the trap and parents would want more
of what they see. But it s not always going to be in a pattern of easy baby, then
difficult baby, then the slow to warm up. One of my close family friend had three
babies and all three are the easy baby, all of them are very pleasant, adaptable, always

Mihalyi s Systems Perspective Of Creativity
Creativity is something that exists and occurs every day but the cause or explanation
of this phenomenon is still in question. Many psychological theories place the origin
of creativity stemming from the individual or through the creative ideas they produce.
Other theories such as those proposed by psychologist Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi
suggest that creativitybegins with the interaction of three shaping factors the: person,
field and domain.
This essay will first discuss how the individual has been seen as the centre of the
creativity process. It will then discuss how the three main forces described in
Csikszentmihalyi s systems perspective of creativity provides a less psychological
approach and individual centred model in exchange for a confluent system of equally
contributing forces.
The Ptolemaic view of seeing the individual at the centre of the creative process has
reduced the level that other factors contribute to this phenomenon and separated it
from the structured system in which it operates. The problems with a person centred
approach to finding where creativity starts are that individuals or people are
constitutions of their environment. One must look externally from the individual, if
one wishes to explain why, when and where new ideas or products arise from and
become established in a culture. (Csikszentmihalyi, 1999, pg. 313). In saying this it is
important to reflect on Anthony Giddens words, the de centring of the subject
[individual] must not be made

Future World Essay

  • 1. Future World Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of the "Future World" presents a unique set of challenges and complexities. The very nature of the subject involves speculation and foresight, requiring the writer to navigate through the uncertainties of what lies ahead. Predicting the future is inherently challenging, as it involves a synthesis of current trends, technological advancements, social dynamics, and a deep understanding of various disciplines. One of the difficulties in composing such an essay is the vast scope of the topic. The future world encompasses a wide array of aspects, including but not limited to technology, environment, society, economy, and geopolitics. Balancing depth and breadth becomes a daunting task, as one must delve into each area with a level of detail while maintaining a holistic perspective on the overall future landscape. Additionally, the rapid pace of technological innovation and societal change further complicates the writing process. The information available is dynamic and subject to constant updates, making it challenging to capture the most recent developments accurately. Moreover, there is a risk of the essay becoming outdated shortly after completion, highlighting the ephemeral nature of predictions about the future. Furthermore, maintaining a balance between optimism and realism is crucial. While envisioning a future world filled with possibilities is inspiring, it is equally important to address potential challenges and ethical considerations. Striking this balance requires a nuanced approach, as an overly optimistic or pessimistic portrayal may oversimplify the complexities inherent in forecasting the future. In conclusion, writing an essay on the "Future World" demands a careful blend of research, creativity, and analytical skills. Navigating the uncertainties, addressing the multidimensional nature of the topic, and staying current with the latest developments pose significant challenges. However, it is precisely these challenges that make exploring the future world a thought- provoking and intellectually stimulating endeavor. • 2. Nasa Announced The End Of The Shuttle Program Introduction On April 28, 2001, the Russian Soyuz rocket blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in central Kazakhstan carrying its cargo and crew to the International Space Station. Unlike any previous mission, this time there was a new crew member on board. Dennis Tito, a wealthy American businessman, was the first private citizen to go to space. He paid approximately $20 million to the Russian space program for a seat to the ISS and back. This signaled to the world that commercial spaceflightwas a viable business, and there are people out there that are willing to pay to experience it. NASAannounced the end of the shuttle program in 2011, and in 2012 it launched the final Space Shuttle mission. Commercial space flight took off soon after that as private companies started up and began to fill the void left by the program. This is a rather new industry focused mainly on transporting cargo to and from the International Space Station(ISS) but also on sending astronauts and civilian travelers to space and putting satellites and other objects into orbit. Currently there are 39 companies in this industry in the United States and these companies are not publicly traded. Each of these companies are at different stages of development as they strive to overcome the obstacles that in the way of commercial spaceflight. In recent years there has been many advancement in the industry as each company focuses on different areas in this industry and applies different
  • 3. Counterculture Movement In Easy Rider In the mid 20th century intriguing drama directed by Dennis Hopper, Easy Rider, we were drawn back to 1969 to shed light on the influences of drugs, sex, and culture as the characters began to question the American system in this counterculture movement. The counterculture movement provoked an alternative lifestyle that came about during the Vietnam War. The tensions following the protests of human inequalities embodying racial segregation and the frustration faced with the draft system resulted in not only the Civil Rights Movement, but the counterculture movement as well. This film, Easy Rider, helped to formulate and to transition over to the New Hollywoodera, or also referred to as the American New Wave. With the experimentation of new drugs such as cocaine and marijuana, people yearned to grasp a fresh perspective on life through the usage of these substances. These hippies, especially the characters throughout the film, Billy and Wyatt, wanted to acquire different forms of these perceptions so they were not viewed as inadequate within society. The essence embodied throughout the film exhibits Billy and Wyatt aspiring to find freedom through Hopper s usage of stylistic forms, through film editingand cinematography. These stylistic forms do not work in isolation, but rather work together to create the underlying message in the quest to find themselves. Even from the very start of the film, formalist elements are exemplified throughout the camera movement,
  • 4. Agatha Christie Research Paper What makes mystery novels so exciting? Is it the thrill of what is to come? Is it the mental challenge to try to solve the unknown? Whatever it is, Agatha Christie has shaped the mystery genre for history. Christie, born on September 15, 1890, lived in the small village of Torquay. Travelling around Europe trying to find a career in singing, and later helping out with the war effort, Christie got into writing her first book from a dare. Christie s sister, Madge, dared Christie that she could not write a good mystery book, and to that Christie accepted. Her first work did well, but it was not until her sixth work, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, when she skyrocketed into fame and still to this day is hailed as one of the bestselling authors (Christie... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, a similarity between the two is that they share the same character of Poirot as the detective. The idea of Poirot started out when Christie was out helping as a nurse in the war. When she saw a Belgian refugee, she thought that that would make a good detective for her first work. Another similarity between the two books is that narrator of the story is Poirot s assistant in the investigation. Both novels by Christie, while both amazing in their genre, still haves some differences. One main difference between the two stories is the setting. While The Murder of Roger Ackroyd was set in the small village of King s Abbot, The ABC Murders was set in 3 different cities. An additional difference in the stories is the motive. In The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, All Dr. Sheppard wanted to do is to become the one case that the famous Poirot could not solve. On the other hand, the motive in The ABC Murders was inheritance
  • 5. The Issue Of Safe Sex On College Campuses 1.Using the guidelines for choosing a theory found in the Hayden textbook; discuss the issue of safe sex on college campuses. You need to briefly discuss the 5 steps and identify relevant information for each step. i.e. in step 1, tell me why safe sex is a pertinent topic given the population. Provide justification/supporting data as necessary. The five steps for choosing a theory include the following: identify the health issue or problem and the population affected, gather information about the issue or population or both, identify possible reasons or causes for the problems, identify the level of interaction (intrapersonal, interpersonal, or community) under which the reason or causes most logically fit, and identify the theory or theories that best match the level and the reasons or causes. Step one is to identify the health issue or problem and the population affected. Safe sex is a pertinent topic for college students, because it is a known fact that many young adults experiment with sex in college. Some researchers have found that the younger population today is participating in more casual sex. In other words instead of sexual relationships being just between a boyfriend and a girlfriend they often are between friends or casual acquaintances. Considering that college students fall into the young adults category it would be pertinent to provide education on safe sex. Step two involves gathering information about the issue or population or both. Safe sex

In order for Scrooge to change his fate, he must maintain the Christmas Spirit all year long. Throughout the story, three pansophical specters show Scrooge multiple scenes from his existence, hoping that he gains knowledge and changes before he ends up like the rest of the phantoms. The Ghost of ChristmasPast, Present, and Yet to Come assist Scrooge into becoming a charitable and selfless person who cares for the underprivileged. Scrooge also finds out that the Cratchit family is mourning over the death of Tiny Tim, their crippled son. At first, Scrooge does not realize who the dead man is, but finally realizes that it is himself. If he does not change his ways, his death would be unnoticed and uncared for and Tiny Tim will die. Scrooge begs for mercy and forgiveness and begins to apologize for his wrongdoings. Throughout the whole story, Scrooge learns his mistakes and vows to change his attitude and actions. By the end of the novella, Scrooge promises to live in the past, present, and future, and becomes a generous man with a big heart. Volunteering at the event allowed me to gain deeper intellectual engagement and also influenced my future career. At the event, I had the opportunity to meet several people who suffered with Arthritis. When observing the many effects that Arthritis had on people it widened my eyes to the lack of healthcare in society. By the end of the day a lightbulb went off in my head and I knew for sure that I wanted a career in medicine. I was certain that a career in health services was for me because each person with arthritis warmed my heart and my mind began wondering about endless ways to better their situation. • 8. Hearing Loss At The University Of New South Wales Hearing loss is problem that can occur anywhere, one of the most common places where this can occur is at a concert. Scientist at the University of New South Wales in Australia believe that short term hearing loss after being exposed to loud excessive noise is most likely the body s way of coping with the situation. This defensive mechanism cannot cope or protect the earwith high frequency noise, which could by caused by listening to loud music through headphones. It is not the acute exposure but the continuous noise expose especially that of a high frequency that can cause difficulties later on in someone s life. Our ears can adapt to loud noise or frequencies but even then, like everything else they have their limits and when you exceed those limits, it can lead to very negative outcomes. Hearing loss can occur at any age, but this mostly affect children and young adults. Approximately 15 percent of Americans between the ages of 20 and 69, 26 million Americans have some form of hearing loss due to high exposure occurring in places of work or recreational activities. About 16% of teens have experience some form of hearing loss caused by loud noise according to a 2010 report based on a survey from the centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC). Everything we hear in our everyday lives has a decibel range, which it shows how loud the noise is. Such as the humming of a refrigerator is 45 decibels, normal conversation is 60 decibels, an mp3 player at maximum
  • 9. Impact Of Big Data On Business Decisions Introduction Since the 1970 s databases and report generators have been used to aid business decisions. In the 1990 s technology in this area improved. Now technology such as Hadoop has gone another step with the ability to store and process the data within the same system which sparked new buzz about big data . Big Data is roughly the collection of large amounts of data sourced internally or externally applied as a tool stored, managed, and analyzed for an organization to set or meet certain goals. The authors of [1] aim to dispel some of the current hype surrounding big data, mainly the misnomer that it is all about technology and the process is automated. In fact there are three critical elements requiring human expertise 1) the data must be the right kind, of sufficient quantity, and clean 2) a specific process must be followed for success starting with the identification of the objective 3) expert humans who know how to use the technology, execute the big data process, and perform the mining tasks which require significant mathematical calculations. This article offers a view of the technical and non technical requirements of making big data a successful endeavor for an organization. To achieve this goal the 10 step process if big data is defined, the data mining technologies are reviewed and data platform issues are briefly discussed. Process This 10 step process and technologies discussed are required for a successful big data
  • 10. The Bible And Divine Communication In The Bible Divine communication: the contact between a higher power and a mortal. This is a constant theme in many works of literature throughout the ages. Divine communication comes in many forms such as oracles, prophets and direct communication with God. In the Bible, mortals often have direct contact with God, who is seen as a father figure. In contrast, divine communication in Oedipus the King comes in the form of oracles and prophets, which are seen as an abstract entity. While both God and the Oracles have the same intent of guiding and advising those involved, individuals were more apt to listen to divine communication in the Bible because it derived from a fatherly figure while individuals tended to reject divine intervention in Oedipus the King because it came from an abstract source. The Bible, which is the most sacred text in the Christian religion, has many occurrences of individuals communicating with God. In each example of contact, divine communication seeks to help individuals worship God. In the very beginning of Genesis, the creation of life. In the second creation story God says to Eve you shall not eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die (Genesis 3:3). Here, God is warning Adam and Eve of the dangers that surround them in the Garden of Eden and the precautions they must take. This proves the goal God s contact with humans on earth is to benefit them rather than hurt them. Rather than leaving Adam

More often than not, the term odor is used in a negative context. There are different forms of deodorizers that help to prevent the spread of odors, especially unpleasant ones. This experiment was designed to analyze three different air fresheners Febreze, Glade, and Lysol, to determine which one works best at covering up the unpleasant odor of garbage. I hypothesize that Febreze will work best in blocking unpleasant kitchen scents. I feel that each one of these air fresheners most likely work to some extent; however, in the end, I feel that Febreze will be the most effective at covering up the smell of garbage because of previous experiences using this air freshener in the past. A feeling of menace and doom pervades Dracula because of his supernatural powers. Frankenstein centres on the creation of a monster made from parts of dead bodies and the fear created by the monster due to circumstance and the ignorance of society. If the supply voltage reduced and keeping the constant threshold voltage at its original value results in drastic degrading in speed because as the supply voltage is reduced the gate drive voltage (VDD VT) reduces and thus the delay increases since propagation delay in a CMOS.To overcome the delay degradation threshold voltage (VT) is to be reduced. Because it is the comparison of income, the loss of Deyonne cannot be deducted from the total amount of his income. 2. Batonne traded 40 sheep for 10 acres of additional land, but the sheep derived from his income. So the 40 sheep should also be counted as his income. 3. Batonne s wife received 25 goats due to order of sailing, which should be regarded as part of income. But the other order, which has not been realized, cannot be regarded as income. 4. As for the 18 sheep that Batonne traded for food and clothing items and 7 sheep that Deyonne did similarly, they were part of their original property. So they cannot be regarded as income. Consequently, according to the information, Deyonne s income of last year was 80 sheep, while Batonne s income was that 20 sheep plus 40 sheep that were traded for 10 additional land and 5 coats equaling 8(1/3) sheep. This essay will analyze Perpetua s defiance of the gender expectations of civic hood and motherhood of the Roman community, and how the Christian community allowed her to define her own identity as a woman on her own terms in conflicting societies. In Perpetua s time, the role of a woman within the Roman culture was determined narrowly against gendered expectations. Daughters were expected to [forge] political and social ties for fathers (Salisbury 6). A Roman daughter was favored the most; they received the best education overseen by their fathers. I had to make so many saves in the game to get us to a PK shootout. Back in March, my parents signed me up for the soccer camp with a friend. Last year my parents won a ticket for the soccer camp, at first I did not want to go but since the camp was full and there were no other tickets I had to go so I did. After the first two days I really liked the camp, by the end of it I realized that it would have been more fun with a friend. This year we got a friend that could go to it this time. There were supposed to be three of us, but one of the friend s parent forgot to sign their kid into the camp. This was my most unforgettable week of my life because this was just such a good camp, plus I got one of my highlights of my goalie career to me. The camp that I went to was at Dail soccer/track complex at NC State University. It had a baseball field right next to it with a camp going on for softball. It also took place on the other two fields across the street, yet there is a tunnel underneath the street that we took. For the games for overtime it did not work the same as normal we went straight to the penalty shootout, instead of having two overtime periods. This week happened to me because my parents were able to sign me up for the camp. My parents learned about the camp from last year. They had won a ticket into the camp and since it was sold out my parents looked at the web page for it to see what it was about and thought I would enjoy it, so I went to it. On the first day of camp we went and filled everything out so I could have fun and any insurance for the camp, I don t know I went to the camp to have fun I did not pay any attention to the signing in anything else to start the camp. After that, I went and found my group I was supposed to be in which turned out to be the second goalie group. In the second goalie group, we were more like a group of people that have some problems with ourselves. Most of the people in our group would talk when our coach talked or wanted them to pay attention. Then there were the other people, like me, in the group who wanted to get as far as possible in training and wanted to

  • 43. Mihalyi s Systems Perspective Of Creativity Creativity is something that exists and occurs every day but the cause or explanation of this phenomenon is still in question. Many psychological theories place the origin of creativity stemming from the individual or through the creative ideas they produce. Other theories such as those proposed by psychologist Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi suggest that creativitybegins with the interaction of three shaping factors the: person, field and domain. This essay will first discuss how the individual has been seen as the centre of the creativity process. It will then discuss how the three main forces described in Csikszentmihalyi s systems perspective of creativity provides a less psychological approach and individual centred model in exchange for a confluent system of equally contributing forces. The Ptolemaic view of seeing the individual at the centre of the creative process has reduced the level that other factors contribute to this phenomenon and separated it from the structured system in which it operates. The problems with a person centred approach to finding where creativity starts are that individuals or people are constitutions of their environment. One must look externally from the individual, if one wishes to explain why, when and where new ideas or products arise from and become established in a culture. (Csikszentmihalyi, 1999, pg. 313). In saying this it is important to reflect on Anthony Giddens words, the de centring of the subject [individual] must not be made
