The Future of Learning Technology in UK Higher Education
At Microsoft it’s essential that we understand how we can support
innovative individuals, businesses and organisations to shape the future – and there is no more important area for innovation than Higher Education.
Introduction
Learning delivery in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) is
being reshaped before our eyes, thanks in part to advances
in technology and the new pedagogical theories facilitated by
that technology.
In order to understand more about the ever-evolving
relationship between technology and learning, we spent time
speaking with six of the UK’s leading learning technologists
working within HEIs.
In a series of interviews exploring current practice, changing
needs and key trends, we were able to establish how digital
devices are being used in universities and how cutting-edge
technology can continue to compliment a sector experiencing
fresh emphasis on collaboration, creation and innovation.

There can be no doubt that Massive Open On-line Courses (MOOCs) have been the educational phenomenon of the last few years with large numbers of these web based courses attracting tens of thousands of registrations. But what is the business model for a university investing in making MOOCs and then making them freely available? This talk will examine the ways in which universities are benefiting from their investment and the ways in which MOOCs are affecting pedagogy and the composition of credit bearing courses both online and on campus.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

History
2008Successful implementation of the European project "Leonardo"
(mobility).
A record number of corporate trainings took place and involved
companies such as EVN Bulgaria, Coca-Cola HBC, Electrostart
AD, Stemo OOD, Polycomp EOOD, etc. A record in this area was
reached – 6 trainings conducted in one day across the country.
An annual company diagnostic method settledtarted its
development as Electrostart AD participated in the process for a
second year in a row. The diagnostic project of Elektrostart AD
continued until 2014 (8 years) and it presents itself as a unique
experience of business development in Bulgarian conditions.
2009
A specialized tool for assessing managerial skills MAT
(Management Assessment Tool) was developed. At this point,
more than 300 managers in local organizations have used MAT in
the diagnostic process of their companies.
A key project was conducted in which the customer satisfaction of
Duropack Trakia AD clients was measured. The methods of this
project have been used repeatedly by the company. "Corporate
Academy" projects were held with representatives of Duropack
Trakia AD, Dunapack Rodina, Electrostart AD and other
companies. The idea for the project elearn.bg (prototype
elearn.pro) was conceived.
At the beginning of 2009, the Executive Director of Moby2, along
with experts, critically evaluated the development of the
company, in particular, the admission of a serious mistake – the
geographic expansion of the company in Bulgaria in the midst of
the crisis.
At the end of 2009, as a result of the critical analysis, a structural
change in the company's management happened. Nayden
Nikolov acquired 100% of the shares of the company. The main
objective of the sole owner was to develop e-learning
technologies, e-books and the development of tools which would
successfully lead to the realization of working prototypes.
Creating a lean and efficient organization of the administrative
process, a complete re-selection of the personnel in the company
and the appointment of the best possible experts on the
respective positions (practically implement the concept of Jim
Collins and his team for a lasting rise to greatness).
A successful launch of the company with major cooperative
projects. In the area of training there are successfully
implemented projects regarding "Corporate Academy" with
leading Bulgarian and international companies: Electrostart
AD STEMO, utility sector - EVN Bulgaria, VIK Plovdiv.
Capital Weekly highlighted, in IT events of the year, Moby2’s
key technology for web streaming - Webox.tv, through
which the Municipal Council of Plovdiv broadcasted in real
time for four years.

accepted standards training and electronic books.
From this point on we have been continuously updating the
Adobe Content Server versions, and we are currently working with
Adobe Content Server 6 and manufacturing digital content in a

e-book.
During this period, an organizational diagnostic for City Council
Varshetz was conducted which led to a number of trainings of the
Municipal Administration Varshetz.

Bulgarian market. The idea was and continues to be that we keep
on working on creating eLearn.pro in real time by applying an
innovative approach to code. By the end of the year the project
was visited by 7800 people and started selling e-books, electronic
and real training.

on leadership with a publication and report on the "Model for
Business Development Bulgarian company."

identity when it came to the processes of training and development
in companies. A of today, the platform is actively being used by
Groupama Insurance, Groupama Life Insurance, Solvay Sodi AD,
Foundation For Our Children and DS Smith Bulgaria AD.

regional cities in Bulgaria were covered and 280 employees were
trained.
During this year an innovative project in the field of marketing,
advertising and promotion of tourist destinations Varshets,
Berkovitsa and Godech in consortium with X-Press Gabrovo was
implemented. The end result of the project was a unique web
application ( "augmented reality" type) http://www.western-
balkan-mountains.info.
During this year we also implemented the third major European
project which focused on improving the working conditions in
Electrostart AD.
2016
During this year the company went through a radical transition
with the main revenue coming primarily from IT ventures. We
implemented a successful e-learning project "Financial Analysis"
which was purchased by UniCredit Bulbank. We also completed
the third eLearning project on the topic of “Safety at work” for DS
Smith Bulgaria along with multiple web projects for corporate
clients. eLearn.pro completed its first successful year after its
